A
Welcome
to
aiken
this
week
in
real
angst
in'.
Well,
today
we
are
going
to
be
talking
with
two
of
our
gentlemen
who
work
for
public
utilities
and
engineering
department
here
for
the
city
of
aiken,
and
every
day
our
employees
across
the
city
work
very
hard
to
ensure
that
the
infrastructure
that
we
have
in
the
city
is
working
properly
our
water
lines
and
our
sanitary
sewer
lines,
and
we're
going
to
be
talking
about
two
programs
that
that
really
affects
so
very
pleased
today
to
have
danny
breaker.
Who
is
our
engineering
technician
for
the
cross
connection?
B
C
D
A
D
A
D
B
D
The
same
thing,
it's
very
important
because
a
lot
of
people
are
doing
things
at
their
home,
for
example
like
you're
submerging,
the
water
holes
into
a
bucket
chef,
sink
tub
or
pool
at
your
home,
like
that,
and
you
have
a
loss
of
pressure
that
loss
of
pressure
with
a
lot
of
water
back
side
niche
back
into
the
main
line.
Then
somebody
complained
about
this
sick
from
the
taste
of
the
water,
okay
and
that's
what
the
warden
seat
back
into
the
main
line,
and
it
just
runs
on
da
line.
So.
A
D
A
backflow
preventer
is
none
more
than
the
means
or
mechanism
that
prevents
the
back
flow
of
water
or
the
pressure.
It's
like
a
loss
of
pressure.
Normally
that
occurs
when
you
have
a
water
main
break.
Okay,
all
the
local
fire
department
arrived
flushing.
The
fire
hydrants
are
that
once
they
do
that
it
pulls
anything
in
that
line
back
out,
but
there's
such
a
strong
force
of
pressure
moving
that
one
at
a
time.
So,
basically
the
backflow
is.
We
got
lots
of
pressure
anything
that
line
pulls
back.
It.
D
B
D
Right
out
front
of
business
at
the
right
away,
they're
quite
have
a
bachelor
device
at
the
fire
sprinkler
line
as
well.
Those
are
normally
installed
inside
the
building,
oh
yeah,
once
they
do
that
they're,
protecting
a
fire
sprinkler
line
and
the
irrigation
of
as
well.
A
lot
of
homeowners
will
call
and
say
why
do
I.
They
have
one
at
my
house
sure.
B
B
D
D
If
it's
getting
back
into
your
drink
order,
it's
gonna
get
back
into
your
main
and
then
your
neighbors
are
gonna,
say:
hey
my
water
tastes,
funny
what
you're
watching
front
now
and
then,
when
you
do
your
research,
they
called
me
and
I,
go
looking
and
I
find
there's
no
protection
on
their
life.
It
came
from
them
irrigating
in
line
I'm
in
their
yards
near
thing,
with
no
protection
on
Saudi,
hey
came
out
in
2003
and
said:
look.
A
D
B
D
A
A
D
A
lot
of
you
still
want
to
watch
the
cause,
but
they
want
see
the
hose
pipe
down
in
the
bucket
when
you
do
that,
your
substitute
I
mean
subject
to
being
submerging
the
hose,
and
it's
going
to
come
back
on
you
sure
right,
you
know,
I
did
you
know
house
trying
to
get
water
if
your
daughter,
somebody's
in
the
house,
so
I
get
water
spigot
and
it
comes
out
Suzie.
That's
why?
How.
D
A
canary
er
you'd
normally
find
what
they
call
a
double
check,
now:
I
kind
of
a
check
value.
What
you
find
on
low
hazard,
what
I
mean
by
low
has
minimal
chemical
fed
basic
stuff,
and
that
is
really
harmful
to
you
to
your
health,
our
peanut
vices
reduced
pressure
device.
We
find
those
on
high
when
I
say
hi
has
done
to
my
hospitals,
a
funeral
home
people
that
use
some
type
of
chemicals
and
so
that
they
can
be
hazardous
to
your
health.
Sure.
A
D
A
Right
well
how
with
the
backflow
devices-
and
you
mentioned-
you
know
that
they
have
to
be
tested,
correct
every
so
often.
What
is
that
involvement
and
how?
What
is
that?
Okay,.
B
D
The
test
is
like,
which
is
we
referring
to.
They
are
tests
their
combined,
a
plumber,
most
plumbers
here
in
the
sock
line,
a
canary.
They
are
certified
test.
You
have
to
go
through
a
two
or
three-day
class
up
in
Columbia,
go
DHEC,
get
certified
testing
for
temporary
for
homeowner
they
come
out
and
they
do
like
a
1
p.s.
I
checked
they
want
to
make
sure
to
check
valves
inside
that
back
device
will
withhold
1
p.s
our
pressure.
D
A
D
Valve
an
RP
allow
that
device
to
spit
the
water
out
the
bomb
it
releases
pressure.
Okay,
that's
not
that!
Has
the
maintainer
psi
2!
Okay,
once
that's
done!
There
send
me
a
copy
report
again
and
then
update
my
system
and
in
every
year
from
commercial
I
sent
them
a
letter,
sir,
and
put
homeowner
I
some
let
every
two
years.
Okay,.
D
A
D
B
D
Lot
of
newer,
neighborhood
subdivision
was:
will
they
want
to
maintain
the
integrity
of
neighborhood
share
by
automatically
putting
back
to
the
vices
in
the
ground
irrigations
in
the
life
sure
at
that
time,
as
soon
as
the
they
get
to
a
construction
out
there,
they
have
to
get
a
particular
oxy
from
the
building
and
planning
department.
Do
they
do
that
they'll
notify
me
and
they'll?
Send
me
a
copy
of
the
report.
Scented
the
Prophet
hasn't
been
performed
and.
D
A
D
That's
correct
and
what
I
do
my
new
lot
of
meetings
with
my
plumbers?
Irrigation
installers,
give
me
agencies
throughout
the
city
of
Aiken
and
they
know
the
requirement
check
if
you're
going
to
install
irrigation.
That's
one
of
the
main
requirement
that
you
do
is
install
it
back
to
the
visor
and
send
update
to
me.
Yes,
sir.
Well.
D
B
D
Right
and
so
that
that
puts
me
out
there
a
little
bit
more
to
do
a
little
bit
more
survey,
sure
a
lot
of
old
neighborhoods
like
so
you
gotta
lock.
You
two
doing
upgrades
changes
and
stuff
like
that.
They
want
to
go
to
wills
and
they
give
me
a
call.
Let
me
know
what
they're
doing
and
I
go
out
and
look
at
chester
area
and
stuff
that,
and
I
told
what
they
needed,
don't
need
this
tour
de
the
way
the
options
are
sure
be
more
feasible
to
do
know.
A
If
they
were,
if
someone
needed
a
black,
a
backflow
device,
if
they
have
a
well,
does
that,
does
that
still
apply?
Yes,.
D
It
does
apply
because
you
find
some
areas
so
well,
imma
put
a
well
in
now
and
they
wanted
they
tend
to
want
to.
You
want
I
belong
together,
I
hop
back
on
paying
for
water,
sir
check.
So
what
I
want?
If
they
decide
to
do
that
and
don't
notify
the
city
our
mandating,
that
they
put
it
in
the
back
of
the
Vice,
because
I
don't
want
to
compromise
the
other
users
of
the
water
system.
A
A
A
There's
so
much
more
that
goes
into
this
than
I
ever
knew,
I
mean
it's
keeping
the
integrity
of
our
water
system,
and
this
has
been
something
that's
you
know
taking
the
national
spotlight
is,
is
the
condition
of
ensuring
the
safety
of
our
water
supply
that
you
know
we've
been
hearing
about,
but
there's
a
lot
that
really
goes
into
maintaining
the
integrity
of
our
systems
and
structures
and
then
edit.
This
is
something
that
you
really
have
to
constantly
keep
up
with.
Yes,.
D
In
the
holidays
like,
if
you
got,
I
love
about
15-20
years
ago,
near
to
call
our
planet
that
caught
fire
well
they'd
have
a
proper
bankbook
mechanism
on
that
system.
We
didn't
that's
why
the
whole
north
side
was
just
aminated
and
they
had
the
tree.
Give
me
comic
dad
to
go
back
out
and
treat
that
line
for
months
and
months.
We
had
dumb
morning.
D
C
A
D
A
Good
thanks,
Danny
and
I
think
Troy.
You
gave
us
a
perfect
segue
to
start
talking
about
your
program,
so
you
are
involved
with
the
not
be
on
this
very
intriguing
when,
when
we
first
started
talking
about
y'all
coming
on
and
talking
for
again
this
week
about
the
fog
program
and
I,
never
know
that
know
anything
about
the
fog
program
and
so
I
thought
that
we
were
going
to
be
talking
about
some
type
of
fog
program.
B
C
A
C
It's
a
very
important
default
program
is
a
program.
That's
we
are
upgrading
because
it's
been
in
existence
for
years,
but
we
just
actually
going
from
enforcing
and
enforcing
it
to
going
out
talking
with
food
establishment,
churches
or
nursing
homes
and
letting
them
know
that
we're
trying
to
take
better
care
of
our
sanitary
sewer
system.
C
It
affects
our
sanitary
sewage
system
and
in
astronomical
ways
a
perfect
example
if,
let's
say
a
grocery
store
and
fries
a
lot
of
chickens
and
fish
and
they
cook
inside,
and
they
don't
have
a
grease
trap
whenever
they
wash
any
dishes
or
anything
that
has
all
it
goes
into
the
sanitary
sewer
system.
Well,
that
sanitary
social
system
backs
up
and
not
only
affects
the
store,
it
affects
the
whole
neighborhood,
because
all
those
are
the
taps.
That's
on
that
line,
I'll
clog
right!
That's
why
we
have
a
file
for
room
well,.
A
B
A
C
B
B
C
Grease
is
measured
in
pounds,
it's
a
liquid,
but
its
measured
in
pounds
when
you
talk
about
a
grease
trap.
Ok,
it's
just
a
small
little
trap
that
catches
a
less
water
or
go
the
water
continue
to
flow,
but
it
has
a
lot
of
baffles
inside
of
it.
Ok
and
those
baffles
actually
catches
the
oil
and
maintains
it
because
all
flows,
that's
right.
Water
continue
to
go
and
those
bafreux
stops
the
wall
and
over
time,
it'll
solidify
and
then
at
least
once
a
month
it
has
to
be
clean
once
a
month
once
a
month.
A
C
Right
they
can
clean
it
or
they
can
have
a
commercial
hall
or
come
in
and
cleaner
for
them.
Ok,
now
a
grease
interceptors
outside
most
people
wouldn't
even
know
where
it
is.
But
if
you
ever
go
to
a
restaurant-
and
you
just
want
to
know,
look
for
two
manholes
are
so
close
to
each
other.
You
know
why
they
so
close.
What
it
is,
it's
a
concrete
vault
and
then
that's
concrete
vault.
It's
the
same
as
that
thing
as
a
grease
trap,
but
it's
on
a
larger
scale.
C
A
C
C
Got
cooking
oil,
which
is
a
canola
oil,
vegetable,
oil,
peanut
oil?
Also,
you
have
oil.
That
comes
off
of
me.
You,
fry
bacon,
you
fry
hamburger,
meat,
you
you,
fry
sausage,
you
know
it's
oil,
those
oils
going
to
our
sanitary
sewer
system
once
they
cool
they
solidify
okay,
and
once
they
get
solid,
it
causes
backups
right
and
those
backups
cause
problems
for
everyone,
and
it
destroys
the
integrity
of
our
system.
C
We
get
a
call,
then
we
have
to
get
our
truck
to
go
out
and
unclog
the
line,
but
before
we
can
get
there,
it's
it's
wrong.
Baby,
wrong,
sewage
running
out.
It
may
just
be
water
running
out.
It
can
run
into
your
house.
They
can
run
into
your
yard,
it
can
run
inside
of
a
business.
That's
why
we
have
to
have
this
fall
program
and
to
prevent
those
things
absolutely.
C
Have
to
find
it,
we
have
to
find
that's
why
we
go
now
go
out
and
do
inspections.
I
can
walk
into
a
business
and
I
walk
in
I
said
how
you
doing
mine
a
short
span,
I'm
here
from
the
city
of
bacon,
on
a
fellow
in
Greece
inspector,
you
walk
inside.
You
walk
through
the
facility,
look
and
see
if
they
have
an
inside
grease
trap,
and
they
may
not
have
one
all
right.
We
need
to
walk
around
outside
and
they
have
one
outside
I.
Look
at
it,
I
look
inside
of
it.
C
Okay,
it
needs
to
be
clean,
but
they
also
have
oil
containers.
Most
people
don't
realize
that
every
ninety
percent
of
all
restaurants
have
a
oil
container
somewhere
if
they
may
be
out
by
their
trashcan.
Some
of
them
have
them
inside
the
buildings
and
inside
those
bills.
They
have
like
a
switch
that
they
could
hit
that
drains,
anything
that
they
are
cooking
with
with
oil,
and
they
have
a
horror
that
comes
in
and
takes
those
that
all
away
really
yes,
not
all
Greece,
goes
down
the
drain.
C
B
B
D
C
Companies
that
does
the
biofuel
they
they
are
boys
that
come
in
by
Oh,
get
those
oils
from
the
from
the
food
establishments.
Okay,
so
that's
how
it's
being
disposed
of
in
the
correct
manner.
That's
what
the
city
wants.
We
want
to
make
sure
my
job
is
to
make
sure
that
it
is
being
disposed
of
in
a
correct
manner.
Okay,.
D
C
A
C
C
D
B
D
A
C
Yes,
we're
here
to
protect
the
citizens.
Oh
okay,
well,.
A
In
y'all
are
doing
a
fantastic
job
and
it's
a
lot
to
keep
up
with
any
type
of
regulation
regulatory
because
you
have
to
keep
up
with
them
the
laws
and
the.
If
there's
changing
rules
and
regulations,
I'm
sure
that
you
have
to
pass
those
along
to
your
businesses
and
residents
and
make
sure
everybody
is
educating
everyone.
C
B
C
Got
a
grease
trap.
I
have
a
policy
for
the
SR,
except
if
you
have
our
side,
one
I
got
a
policy
for
your
outside
a
grease
interceptor
and
I
also
have
a
policy
for
your
own.
Let
you
know
that
it
needs
to
be
hauled
off
once
a
month
or
maintained
that
it
doesn't
overflow
and
get
on
the
ground.
The
most
important
thing
that
my
job
is
to
make
sure
that
it
not
only
goes
through
the
system
correctly,
but
it
doesn't
get
on
the
ground
right.
C
The
fall
program
not
only
protects
the
sanitary
sewer,
but
it
also
protects
the
stormwater
nice
because
it,
if
all
is
running
on
the
ground
and
it
gets
into
the
storm
water
system.
It
is
solidifying
that
storm
water
system,
okay,
and
if
we
have
a
big
storm
coming
through
right,
then
the
water
can't
go
yellow
and
then
now
you
have
roles
that
are
blocked
because
it's
solid
grease
in
there.
So
it
my
job
is
to
make
sure
that
the
city's
infrastructure
on
two
different
phases-
I'm
well
maintained.
B
C
A
A
D
C
C
If
oil
comes
out,
I
guess
in
a
storm
water
and
it
gets
into
a
string
or
forget,
sent
to
you
know
upon:
where
does
it
go?
If
we
have,
if
we
use
in
our
water
supply
as
above
ground
water
supplying
has
all
in
it,
then
the
water
plane
has
to
work
twice
as
hard
to
clean
that
water.
So
you
know
it's:
it's
all
phases,
these
our
inspection
jobs.
It's
a
one
of
the
biggest
checks
and
balances
that
the
city
hasn't
yeah,.
A
C
You
can
get
in
contact
with
me
about
the
fall
program
at
80,
329
3784,
one,
that's
my
office,
unless
you
can
call
all
leave
a
message
that
