Francine came to us as a stray in pretty bad shape. She had skin issues that required medicated baths and severe ear infections that had been overlooked for a long time. Francine’s ears are painful and will continue to become infected due to the shape of her ear canals, so we will need to get her surgery that will reconstruct her ear canals (Total Ear Canal Ablasion surgery.) This surgery will cost approximately $2,500 and we are asking for your help! We need to raise at least $2,500 to cover the costs of Francine’s surgery. Any amount will help and you can make the donation by mail, phone, or in person at the animal shelter. She is an amazing dog and will make a fantastic companion for any family. We are accepting applications on Francine until her surgery has been completed, and then the best forever home for Francine will be selected.

Hello and thank you for tuning in to this very special episode of animals and aims. My name is Ron Edwards I'm, the animal control supervisor here for the Ames animal shelter and animal control program. Our very special guest here today is Francine.

Francine came in to us as a stray, and she was tell him he really. She came into us as a stray and just an amazing dog, great personality, but she was in pretty bad shape. She's looking at her friends here in the room that she's really become attached to trying to talk to them, but she is just a very sweet dog. Again she came into a some pretty bad shape. Her skin was in really poor condition and her ears. We noticed that there was pretty bad ear infections.

We took her immediately to our partner, somerset vet hospital, who, of course, did excellent work and diagnosing her. She unfortunately had such severe ear such severe ear infections that she needs an extensive surgery and that's the purpose of today's show. We really want to get the support and donations to help save Francine again. She came into us as a stray.

So we don't know who was responsible for this, but unfortunately they really did not help Francine she's, several years old were estimating at least four years old and she's probably had ear infections, her entire life and was never treated so her eardrums at this point are completely shot. They need to be restructured, so we have to work with a specialist to get that done. The cost for that surgery alone is twenty five hundred dollars.

So we're asking for your help today, donate whatever you can five dollars, ten dollars twenty dollars, whatever you can do to help save Francine without this surgery she would live the rest of her life in pain and discomfort, and that's not fair to Francine nor any of our furry friends.

So we don't want that to happen to Francine she is a very sweet dog, we're going to start taking applications for her she's, just she's, a really big dog in a very small body, we're estimating she's around 35 pounds somewhere in that range, but has just been really good and you're going to see in a moment.

We have to give her medicated baths once her skin is healed up and better and she's getting some good food she's not going to have to be on the medicated baths anymore, but until she gets treated and healed and completely recovers. She needs these special Mouse medication that we're giving her antibiotics and such and again a big thank you to the summer at vet hospital for all your work and help to save her.

She deserves to be saved, she's probably had several litters of puppy and we're assuming the she puppies and she may have been thrown out after she had her last litter of puppies, because she's not useful anymore, and it's really heartbreaking for us to see things like this and unfortunately we do see it too often, but Francine deserves a better life. She deserves a place. That's going to take care of her a family to call her own.

That's going to keep her indoors love her, give her all the attention, love, compassion and that care that she deserves. So if you're interested in adopting Francine she's still got a ways before she can go to her a new home, but we are going to be accepting applications.

So if you're interested in Francine come on down to the shelter we'd love to introduce you to her and to your family, but again she is still going to have to go through the treatments here with us, I'll kind of go to the side a little bit and see if we can kind of get a sense of just how big she is she's, actually pretty small but she's solid.

She is just a sweet dog and you're going to see you're out and you're going to see her getting a bath and see route-running, I'm playing in the yard and have good time. So maybe you can envision her with a happy heart forever home. That's going to give her all the love and everything that I said earlier, because she deserves that. All the animals that come into our shelter deserve that. So please consider helping out the address to the animal shelter is going to be on your screen. You can mail a donation.

This is going to be for Francine and friends. We need to collect 25 hundred dollars to get her that surgery for her ears, anything that we raised over that is going to help other animals that need medical help just like Francine and another way that you can help. Francine is also calling us on the phone.
