From YouTube: Ames Responds to COVID-19 | Episode 13
Description
This episode of “Ames Responds to COVID-19” we talk to City of Ames Fleet and Facilities Director Corey Mellies about the reopening of City facilities, what to expect, and how the City monitors community activity to make decisions on additional reopening.
A
Hey
welcome
to
inch
response
to
Cove
in
nineteen,
a
question
and
answer
program.
Where
aims
organizations
respond
to
covered
19
questions,
I'm
Susan,
we
asked
a
public
relations
officer
for
the
skip
aims.
We've
had
several
questions
come
in
for
us
this
week
via
email,
most
of
them
related
to
the
opening
of
city
facilities,
so
I've
invited
Corey,
MELAS,
the
city
of
Ames
fleet
and
facilities
services
manager
to
join
us
today
to
go
over
some
of
those
questions
before
we
get
started.
I
just
want
to
remind
you
if
you
have
a
covered
19
related
question.
A
Please
call
our
city
hotline
at
five,
one,
five,
two:
three:
nine
five:
six:
seven
zero
or
email
us
at
kovin,
19
at
city
of
Ames
org
and
we'll
try
to
get
your
question
on
our
next
program.
Let's
get
right
into
the
city
related
questions.
What
will
look
different
about
facility
city
facilities,
specifically
City
Hall
and
the
library
now
that
you've
reopened
Corey?
Maybe
you
have
some
insight
into
that?
Susan.
B
Definitely
will
see
some
differences
today.
All
ivory
will
have
some.
You
know:
reduced
access
points,
lots
more
signage,
lots
of
physical
barriers
separated
staff
from
the
public,
like
you
seen
a
lot
of
stores
that
people
are
frequent
in
now,
so
those
will
be
the
big
changes,
especially
at
City
Hall
access
points
of
those
definitely
shrunk
down,
I'm,
so
lonely
I'm.
So
merry
as
you
can
access
the
police
through
that.
So.
A
You
mentioned
police
department
and
just
a
reminder
to
people
who
are
used
to
accessing
the
police
department
inside
of
city
map.
That,
of
course,
is
part
of
the
reduced
entry.
Yes,
they
will
off
to
access
on
the
police.
North
side
of
the
building
along
6th
Street
that'll
still
be
open,
24
hours
a
day.
B
The
Clark
Street
entrance
will
be
for
your
oral
City
business,
video
access
from
the
west
or
the
north
side
doors
and
the
main
entrance.
The
community
center
is
open
if
you
were
dealing
with
Parks
and
Rec,
but
will
be
asked
to
exit
and
injure
certain
way
as
you
take
classes
that
arawa
going
to
the
communities
so.
A
B
A
A
B
A
B
A
B
A
I
know
the
library
is
sort
of
focusing
on
this
grab-and-go
service,
ideally
they're,
trying
to
keep
interactions
about
15
minutes.
In
most
instances,
a
lot
of
business
city
business
can
be
conducted
in
a
sort
of
a
15-minute
time
frame,
sort
of
one
thing
to
keep
in
mind
if
you're
visiting
a
city
facility.
Yes,.
B
A
Quite
a
while
so
there's
the
chance
that
at
some
point,
I
had
to
close
and
then
we'll
have
to
do
tolling
the
time
we
think
we've
proven
that
we
can
provide
services
again
to
do
that.
Yeah
I
think
that's
an
important
point
about
the
fact
that
this
is
a
rapidly
changing
situation
that
a
decision
today
may.
B
B
A
Okay,
thank
you
that
was
quite
mouse.
Our
