From YouTube: Well Read | All Species One Earth
Description
Learn about the All Species One Earth being held at Bandshell Park and Ames Public Library on Saturday April 23.
A
So
whatever
the
weather
tells
us
is
what
we
have,
but
I
can
tell
you
that,
no
matter
what
the
weather
is,
the
programs
and
the
partnerships
that
the
library
has
is
a
celebration
of
life,
a
celebration
of
children
and
a
celebration
in
this
particular
case
of
the
earth
that
we
we
live
on
and
so
with
with
me
today,
I
have
two
people
to
help
me:
celebrate
the
that
earth
and
earth
day
that's
happening
in
April,
so
Marlene.
Can
you
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
you
and
a
little
bit
about
all
species?
B
I'm,
a
lifelong
aims,
residence,
so
it's
really
fun
to
bring
this
event
to
ames
and
help
aim
celebrate
spring
and
celebrate
the
the
fellow
creatures
and
plants
and
insects
that
we
share
the
planet
with
and
and
that's
the
reason
we're
having
all
species.
One
earth
I
got
the
idea
from
my
son
many
years
ago,
who
was
part
of
all
species.
One
earth
parade
out
in
western
out
in
Northern,
California
and
I
thought
it
just
sounded
like
something
that
aims
needed
so.
C
I'd
be
glad
to
I've,
been
here
in
ames
for
gosh
over
30
years
now
and
I've
known
Marlene.
For
most
of
that
time,
almost
all
of
it
probably
got
to
know
her
primarily
through
things
related
to
conservation
and
bird-watching.
I've
been
a
member
of
the
Audubon
Society
for
many
years
and
I
to
really
look
for
opportunities
to
celebrate
nature
and
aims.
C
Didn't
really
have
much
going
for
Earth,
Day
and
Marlene
told
me
about
some
of
the
things
that
were
going
on
out
in
California
and
then
gosh.
Maybe
two
or
three
years
ago.
We
stumbled
upon
something
very,
very
special,
an
exhibit
of
art
that
a
student
who
is
finishing
up
her
MFA
was
showing
down
on
Main
Street
and
the
art
was
very
much
oriented
towards
different
animals,
shown
in
many
different
ways.
A
B
Is
just
a
fantastic
young
artist,
a
Molly
Nagle
once
she
graduated
from
iowa
state
university
opened
up
her
own
art,
studio
up
in
story,
city
called
upper
story
studio
and
she
puts
on
workshops
and
works
with
the
community
and
and
she
works
with
the
aims
community
and
and
just
as
a
multi-faceted
artist,
not
just
animals.
But
she
does
landscapes
and
many
things,
and
so
she
loves
sharing
her
knowledge
and
her
skill
with
other
people.
So
she
was
just
delighted
to
when
Mark
and
I
mentioned
this
to
her
at
her
opening.
B
She
was
just
she
just
took
right
to
it
and
thought
it
would
be
perfect
for
her
and
it
has
been
a
really
good
fit
for
all
of
us,
I
I'm,
executive
director
of
the
Iowa,
Wildlife,
Center
and
and
so
not,
which
is
wildlife,
rehabilitation
and
conservation,
education,
and
so
some
people
might
go
well.
What
are
you
doing
with
art?
Well
I
like
blending
science
and
art?
So
this
to
me
and
giving
people
reason
and
another
venue
to
start
understanding
more
of
our
relationships
with
other
species
around
us.
B
B
A
B
Not
only
Kelly
omelet
but
Jerry
keys
from
the
head
naturalist
at
Story,
County
Conservation
has
been
a
wonderful
partner
as
well
bringing
a
lot
of
his
expertise
to
the
event
and
the
planning
and
and
the
logistics
and
everything.
So
it's
I
think
it's
just
been
between
the
small
core
group
of
us
as
partners.
B
A
Just
a
fellow
rating
happening,
and
in
this
all
all
in
april
wins
the
spring
when
it
life
is
beginning
and
the
it's
a
new
new
beginning
for
for
everyone
plant
life
to
humans.
So
so
you
talked
about
this
core
group
that
we've
gotten
together
and
we've
done
it
one
time
last
year,
where
we
had
the
parade
around
the
ames
public
library
and
then
what
we
call
vendors
that
were
in
the
auditorium
and
had
some
really
wonderful
response.
A
C
Surprised
at
the
turn
out
to
be
honest
about
it
that
when
you're
out
on
the
parade,
you
know
this
people
are
sort
of
scattered
about
you,
don't
have
a
very
good
sense
of
who's
out
there,
but
then,
when
we
came
into
the
auditorium
and
saw
all
the
activity
going
on
all
the
opportunities
for
exchange
between
different
organizations
and
people
of
all
ages,
I
mean
it
was.
It
was
really
heartening
to
see
that
it
made
me
feel
great.
It.
A
B
A
B
Going
to
be
a
wide
range,
as
last
year,
there
was
a
wide
range
from
nonprofit
organizations
to
agency,
county
and
state
agencies
and
we'll
we'll
have
that
again
so
there'll
be
people.
Organizations
like
I
would
naturally
Heritage
Foundation
big
bluestem
Audubon
agencies
like
Story
County
Conservation,
will
bring
activities
for
children
to
do
and-
and
it's
just
a
really
nice
variety
of
vendors
and
it's
education
and
information
sharing.
So
we
won't
be
selling
anything,
but
there
will
be
plenty
of
things
for
people
to
take
home
information
and
crafts,
and
things
like
that
and.
B
C
C
C
A
B
I
should
mention,
as
far
asked
about
the
vendors
coming
and
this
year,
we're
changing
it.
Also
because
we're
going
to
have
live
animals,
there
will
be
no
live
animals
in
the
parade
following
the
the
vendors,
but
we
will
have
live
animals
here
at
the
library,
both
wild
and
I,
suspect,
domestic
and
then
at
the
end
of
the
parade.
We'll
talk
about
that
in
a
bit
will
have
a
special
feature
at
the
end
of
the
parade
with
another
wonderful
life
and
when
you're
filling
in.
B
C
A
This
this
year
were
where
we're
going
to
do
those
those
vendor
type
of
things
in
the
in
the
auditorium
and
so
you'll
be
able
to
kind
of
browse
around
and
and
get
ready,
and
if
you're,
just
going
to
go
for
the
parade,
then
you'll
want
to
want
to
meet
us
over
at
bandshell
park
over
by
the
bandshell.
That's
where
we're
going
to
have
the
registration
to
to
get
you
a
sign,
not
necessarily
with
a
number
but
with
a
biome
because
of
your
species.
Now
those
are
scientific
terms.
Can
somebody
help
me
out.
C
Sure,
but
biome
is
just
a
way
of
looking
at
how
our
world
is
organized.
Naturally,
what
are
the
places
that
creatures
live?
How
do
we
divide
them
up
and
there's
number
of
different
systems
that
you
can
use
to
divide
up
the
world
into
these
huge
communities,
but
I
think
we're
going
to
use
a
very
simple
one
and
I:
don't
have
them
written
in
front
of
me,
but
I
know
that
we've
got
like
five
of
them.
It
would
include
the
oceans,
it
would
include
the
deserts.
It
would
include
the
forests.
C
C
B
B
A
Was
the
temperate
forest?
I
would
think
so.
So
when
you
come
to
the
registration
table
to
get
your
card
of
description,
we
will
assign
you
those
places
and-
and
I
will
have
expert
sitting
by
me
so
they'll
be
able
to
help
you
if
I
can't
so
and
will
help
probably
I.
Think
I
will
have
some
books
there.
So
people
can
kind
of
look
and
see
and
figure
out
for
themselves
so
this
year
we're
also
going
to
have
an
MC
to
help
us
with
the
parade
and
announce
who's.
What
biome
is
going
by
and
wraps.
A
A
And
they
will
be
running
around
in
the
bandshell
park
and
and
that
parade
starts
about
three
o'clock
Chris
and
that's
when
we'll
start
moving
the
circle
around
and
walking
through
with
the
MC
describing
what's
happening
and
moving
shifting
the
world
around.
Just
like
the
world
moves
itself.
So
we
have
some
thoughts
there
that
we've
like
pre-planned.
C
A
C
A
A
C
B
Are
going
to
have
save
our
avian
rate,
resources
from
dedham
iowa
come
over
sore
as
it's
known
and
they're
going
to
bring
one
of
their
education
animals.
A
bald
eagle
named
thora,
I
believe,
is
coming
so
we'll
have
a
bald
eagle
educational
presentation
after
the
parade
at
the
bandshell
that
will
sort
of
wrap
things
up
and
people
can
still
stay
around
and
ask
questions
and
have
fun
and
keep
celebrating
beyond
that
moment.
But
that's
that's
how
we
envision
this
going.
Yeah.
A
B
C
C
B
C
A
A
Do
you
think
we
might
have
a
rain
date?
We
will
have
a
location,
it
won't
be
as
ideal
as
it
over
at
the
bandshell
park.
Both
the
parade
will
still
happen
inside
the
library
in
a
in
a
great
way,
as
well,
throughout
the
children's
area
up
through
the
adult
area
and
in
the
auditorium,
so
we
will
still
have
it.
You
know
it's
come
to
my
mind
that
we've
talked
about
this
great
day
in
this
great
celebration,
but
we
haven't
set
a
date.
Oh
my
gosh
723.
C
B
A
B
Right
people
can
check
us
out
more
on
our
Facebook
page
aims:
James
pse,
I'm
all
species,
one
earth
aims
and
we've
created
a
new
website
that
will
be
launching
I
suspect
within
the
next
I.
Don't
know
hopefully
week
or
two
for
sure,
and
people
can
check
that
out.
We
have
videos
with
photographs,
we
have
ideas
for
costumes
and
things
like
that.
Both
places.
A
Then
we
do
have
asked
that
if
you
would
like
to
register
for
the
parade
portion,
that
kind
of
gives
us
an
idea.
So
you
can
go
to
our
the
Ames
public
library,
webpage
and
pre
register
for
the
event,
although
that
is
not
required.
If
you
just
want
to
show
up
that
day,
you
can
show
up
that
day
and
be
a
part
of
the
parade
so
come
and
join
us.
Partnerships
are
wonderful
to
have
and
we
have
some
really
great
ones.
For
this
beat
this
particular
program.
A
All
species
one
earth
come
and
join
us
April
23rd,
starting
at
one
o'clock
here
at
the
library
and
then
over
the
bandshell
park,
and
if
you
can't
make
it
that
day,
just
celebrate
life
in
general,
bye-bye
enjoying
the
the
wildlife
and
enjoying
the
library
and
enjoying
all
of
our
parks
that
we
have
in
our
aims
area
until
next
time.
Happy
reading
and
celebrate
life.
