A
A
Welcome
to
thanksgiving
week
we'll
have
some
thanksgiving
safety,
cooking
tips
from
our
friends
at
fema,
some
shopping
safety
tips
from
biloxi
police
chief
john
miller,
we'll
have
the
latest
on
cobit
19
in
mississippi
and
harrison
county
and
a
few
other
things.
But
first,
let's
talk
about
progress.
Since
hurricane
zeta
we've
passed
the
halfway
point,
crews
have
now
removed
more
than
107
000
cubic
yards
of
debris
from
streets
and
neighborhoods
in
biloxi.
A
You
will
remember
that
we
have
said
from
day
one
that
there's
an
estimated
200
000
cubic
yards
of
debris
out
there.
That's
enough
debris
to
fill
the
coast
coliseum
twice
we're
more
than
halfway.
There.
Crews
are
off
this
week,
but
they
will
return
at
sunrise
a
week
from
today,
monday
november.
30Th,
please
keep
in
mind.
The
first
pass
of
the
entire
city
is
expected
to
be
completed
mid-december.
A
A
We
should
also
point
out
that
the
city's
gis
team
has
created
an
online
progress
map.
You
can
find
it
at
biloxi
dot,
ms
dot.
U
s
forward,
slash
zeta
debris.
It
offers
you
a
dashboard
of
information,
total
haul
total
loads
loads
by
day,
and
it
allows
you
to
zoom
in
on
any
specific
area
of
the
city
for
detail
right
down
to
the
street
corner
and
now
here's
an
update
on
covet
19.
B
Today,
the
mississippi
state
department
of
health
reports
699
new
cases
of
the
coronavirus
statewide
since
thursday,
more
than
5
000
cases
have
been
reported,
bringing
the
statewide
total
number
of
coronavirus
cases
since
mid-march
to
nearly
144
thousand
cases.
The
department
also
reports
that
more
and
six
deaths
have
resulted
from
the
coronaries
statewide.
B
B
B
Not
only
are
new
cases
spiking
throughout
the
state
so
are
hospitalizations.
Take
a
look
at
this
chart
from
the
mississippi
state
department
of
health,
which
is
from
friday,
see
the
red
line.
That
is,
the
number
of
patients
in
hospitals.
Statewide
with
the
confirmed
infection,
see
the
green
line.
That
is
the
number
of
covent
patients
in
icu.
B
You
can
also
go
to
the
city's
website
at
biloxi.ms.gov
and
click
on
the
covet
tab
at
the
top
to
see
practical
advice,
including
opening
up
biloxi,
again
guidelines
and
past
videos
and
charts.
Please
keep
this
information
in
mind
when
celebrating
thanksgiving
the
u.s
surgeon
general
this
morning
asked
for
everyone
to
celebrate
small
and
smart
this
year.
Take
celebrations
outdoors,
keep
it
small,
prepare
before
the
day
make
sure
you
are
not
going
out
and
about
and
around
a
lot
of
people
holiday
events
can
be
super
spreaders,
so
please
keep
it
small
and
smart.
A
Even
if
you're
having
a
small
thanksgiving
gathering
this
year,
here's
a
fact
to
remember
the
national
fire
prevention
association
reports.
That
cooking
is
the
most
common
cause
of
house
fires
and
house.
Fires
are
four
times
more
likely
to
occur
on
thanksgiving
day
than
in
any
other
time
of
the
year.
Here's
some
advice
from
our
friends
at.
C
D
D
Mitt
next
grab
the
lid
that
fits
the
pan
and
smother
the
flames
with
it
carefully
slide
the
lid
over
the
pan
to
cut
off
the
oxygen
then
turn
off
the
burner
to
stop
adding
heat,
never
pour
water
on
a
grease
fire
that
can
make
the
fire
spread
and
leave
the
pan
alone.
Don't
lift
the
lid
that
would
add
more
oxygen
and
keep
the
fire
going
or
move
the
pan
until
it
has
cooled
completely.
D
Never
try
to
carry
a
burning
pan
to
the
sink
or
outside
that
could
fan
the
flames
and
the
oil
can
burn
you
and
spread
fire
around
now.
Listen
up!
You
should
only
try
this
if
you
have
a
safe
way
out
and
everyone
else
is
getting
out
if
the
fire
is
spreading,
get
out
and
call
the
fire
department
from
outside
your.
C
A
Please
keep
in
mind,
we
still
have
a
few
traffic
signals
out
three
on
howard
avenue
and
two
on
eisenhower.
Please
treat
those
as
four-way
stops.
Expect
heavy
traffic
this
weekend
drive
courteously
and
safely
don't
rush.
The
biloxi
visitor
center
closes
only
four
times
a
year,
and
one
of
those
is
thanksgiving
day.
Also,
please
remember
that
all
other
non-emergency
municipal
facilities
in
biloxi
will
be
closed,
both
thursday
and
friday
for
thanksgiving
and
now
this.
B
Ever
wonder
how
busy
biloxi's
police
fire,
community
development,
engineering
and
public
works
departments
are?
You
can
get
the
behind
the
scenes
details
on
the
week
that
was
with
information
such
as
police
and
fire
responses,
building
permits
issued
the
status
of
major
public
works
projects
throughout
the
city
and
the
work
orders
completed
by
the
public
works
department
just
go
online
to
biloxi.ms.us
and
click
on
the
weekly
reports.
Tab
to
see
the
reports.
New
information
is
posted
at
the
beginning
of
each
week.
The
page
also
includes
an
archive
of
reports.
A
Edgewater
mall
will
be
closed
on
thursday,
except
for
the
movie
theater,
but
mall
manager.
Terry
powell
is
expecting
brisk
sales
friday
and
throughout
the
weekend,
along
with
all
mall
visitors
wearing
masks
and
social
distancing.
Please
be
careful.
We
leave
you
today
with
some
holiday
shopping
safety
tips
from
biloxi
police
chief
john
miller,
on
behalf
of
mayor
gillage
and
members
of
the
biloxi
city
council.
Please
have
a
safe
and
happy
thanksgiving.
E
Hello,
I'm
chief
john
miller
with
the
biloxi
police
department
wishing
everyone
a
happy
holiday
season.
We
have
some
safety
tips
we'd
like
everyone
to
keep
in
mind
through
the
holiday
season
when
shopping
park,
your
vehicle
in
a
well-lit
area
as
close
to
your
destination
as
possible,
don't
park
beside
large
buildings
or
in
between
large
vehicles
or
park
next
to
vehicles
that
have
tinted
windows.
E
Don't
make
multiple
trips
to
your
car,
with
lots
of
packages
that
only
alerts
these.
They
may
wait
for
you
to
come
back.
Put
those
packages
and
gifts
in
the
trunk
of
the
car.
Don't
leave
anything
exposed
inside
the
car
that
would
be
thief,
could
see,
wear
casual,
comfortable
clothes
and
don't
wear
expensive
jewelry.
The
last
thing
you
want
is
for
a
would-be
criminal
to
think
that
some
of
the
joy
you're
wearing
is
very
expensive,
even
though
you're
rushed-
and
you
have
a
thousand
things
on
your
mind-
stay
vigilant,
be
aware
of
who's
around
you.
E
E
E
Your
atm
transaction
always
take
the
receipt
with
you
and
dispose
of
it
somewhere
else
do
not
dispose
of
it
at
the
site
if
you're
planning
to
be
going
from
your
home
even
for
a
short
time
make
sure
your
doors
and
windows
are
locked.
If
you're
going
to
be
going
for
an
extended
time,
make
sure
that
you
have
a
trusted
tavern
that
can
pick
up
your
newspaper
and
take
in
your
mail.
Those
are
the
exact
things
that
criminals
look
for,
have
outdoor
lighting
on
a
timer.
E
E
E
E
Please
have
a
designated
driver
who
can
take
your
guest
home
if
need
be
if
you're
attending
a
holiday
party,
remember
it's
your
responsibility
not
to
drink
and
drive.
Have
a
designated
driver
available.
Remember
this
holiday
season
law
enforcement
will
be
out
trying
to
keep
you
safe.
We
would
appreciate
it
if
you
do
your.
