Description
Jane Kupersmith couldn't find *exactly* what she was looking for in a coffee shop here in Bloomington...so she opened her own!
Working from a desk at Cowork in 2013, Kupersmith formed her business plan and launched Hopscotch Coffee. Kupersmith attributes a large part of Hopscotch's success to Cowork's enriching, transitional environment and is looking forward to seeing (and experiencing!) the Cowork community's expansion into The Mill this November.

A
The
entrepreneurial
ecosystem
in
Bloomington
is
one
is
one
of
sharing
it's
a
culture
of
sharing
and
openness
and
support,
even
when
I've
encountered
people
who
are
in
in
the
same
line
of
work
as
me
and
technically
should
be
competitors.
There's
there's
just
always
really
great
collaboration
and
openness
and
respect.
A
I'm
Jane
Cooper
Smith
and
co-founder
and
co-owner
of
hopscotch
coffee,
I'm
co-owner
of
rainbow
bakery.
The
idea
for
hopscotch
coffee
first
started
to
come
to
me
when
I
was
working
as
a
freelance
copy,
editor
and
I
was
often
frustrated
at
the
availability
of
coffee
or
the
atmosphere
in
places
where
I
was
working.
There
were
some
great
qualities
and
great
staff
and
there
were
some
great
drinks
in
those
places
too,
but
it
wasn't
exactly
what
I
wanted.
A
One
of
the
places
I
spent
a
lot
of
time
when
I
was
developing
my
business
plan
for
hopscotch
Woods
at
cowork
when
I
joined
cowork.
It
was
as
a
person
who
was
developing
this
this
business
model,
but
I
still
had
some
lingering
book
project.
That
I
was
really
in
this
musician's
place,
which
is
I.
Think
what
a
lot
of
people
appreciate
about
Co
works
and
in
future
the
mill
will
lend
the
sort
of
professional
agility.
A
That
I,
think
is
a
key
key
factor
and
I
must
have
joined
her
work
in
2013
and
then
hop
scotch
I
went,
live
in
2014,
but
I
still
worked.
I
still
go
back.
I
find
that
I
can
get
a
lot
done.
It's
a
really
great,
hiding
hiding
spot
for
me
in
both
I'm
really
wrestling
with
a
new
idea
or
a
concept
for
our
product.
Maybe
I
will
you
know,
bring
it
raise
it
for
the
peanut
gallery
and
see
what
people
think
it's
really
helpful
and
informative
to
get
those
kind
of
knee-jerk
reactions.
