A
Grew
up
in
Northwest
Indiana.
At
that
time
it
seemed
like
everybody,
either
worked
for
the
steel
mills
or
worked
for
an
industry
that
served
the
students
from
the
late
70s
until
roughly
the
mid
eighties.
The
mills
went
from
employing
about
30,000
people
and
it
was
devastating.
My
father
had
been
a
metallurgist
at
US
Steel
for
forty
five
years.
He
was
forced
to
retire
about
five
years
ahead
of
schedule,
with
one
child
getting
ready
to
go
to
college
and
that
same
affect
that
affected
many
families.
A
The
same
way,
the
part
of
my
I'm
grateful
for
the
opportunity
to
work
on
the
Redevelopment
Commission
is
that
we
think
about
how
to
use
resources
so
that
Bloomington
is
never
in
that
position.
This
transformation
is
what's
for
the
next
step.
So
taking
what
was
the
dimensional
finish?
Our
brothers
furniture
factory
Internet
is
no
place
for
entrepreneurs,
and
companies
and
co-working
space
is
part
of
what
we
think
and
part
of
what
we
do.
Obviously,
there's
the
symbolism
of
old
industries
giving
way
to
new
industries.
