Have
for
the
first
time
ever
created
the
parade
of
Home
Spotlight
Community
award,
and
this
is
for
it's
recognize
the
good
work
the
city
of
Bloomington
is
doing
to
help
fulfill
our
mission
of
homeownership
opportunities
for
all.
This
is
part
of
our
75th
anniversary
celebration
was
the
reason
to
create
this
award.
C
It's
something
that
we're
proud
of
and
I
know
that
not
only
we
but
the
entire
city
of
Bloomington
every
time
I
bring
this
up
within
the
community.
The
work
that
we've
put
in
the
the
results
that
we
have
seen
over
the
past
few
years,
It
generally
generates
a
round
of
applause,
because
people
understand
the
importance
of
Home
in.
A
May,
the
city
of
Bloomington,
further
modernized
its
zoning
to
focus
on
housing,
affordability
and
increased
access.
It
reduced
lot
size
and
width
requirements,
reduced
parking
requirements
eliminated
minimum
home
size
requirements,
decreased
lot,
setbacks
and
streamline
the
process
to
subdivide
a
lot.
Bloomington
homeowners
learned
how
home
energy
has
an
impact
on
Comfort
health
and
budget.
A
Events
like
these
tie
into
the
city's
strategic
plan
Bloomington
tomorrow,
together
as
it
aims
to
reduce
green
house
gas
emissions,
improve
Community,
Health
and
increase
affordability
of
housing.

Hundreds
attended
the
Creekside
Community
Center
open
house
this
month.
A
It
was
held
Thursday,
September
14th
from
9
A.M
to
1pm.
There
were
Hands-On
demonstrations,
live
music
snacks
and
more
attendees
had
a
chance
to
learn
more
about
the
wide
variety
of
programs
offered
at
Creekside,
including
Arts
card
groups,
Fitness
music,
Recreation
opportunities
and
more.
There
were
30
different
programs
represented
so.
D
The
open
house
was
an
opportunity
for
people
to
directly
talk
to
the
other
seniors
their
peers
about
our
programs
versus
just
reading
out
on
the
website
or
looking
at
a
flyer.
So
it
had
that
personal
connection
and
we
could
talk
directly
with
everybody
and
ask
them
what
they're
looking
for
and
how
we
can
be
of
assistance.

A
recent
conversation
hosted

Place

focused
on
bloomington's
indigenous
history.
It
was
held
at
Bloomington
Civic
Plaza
on
Tuesday
August,
22nd
historians,
Dr,
Kate
bean
and
Peter
DeCarlo
discussed
the
Deep
history.
Indigenous
people
have
had
with
this
land
for
hundreds
of
years
and
the
impacts
colonization
has
had
on
both
the
people
and
the
landscape
and.
E
Think
that
what
things
these
things
do
is
they
help
and
build
that
acknowledgment
and
that
awareness,
but
we've
been
building
a
lot
acknowledgment
and
awareness
for
over
200
years,
and
it's
time
that
we
get
to
that
next
space
right
and
so
thinking
about.
What
is
it
that
you
can
do
you
know?
What
can
you
take
from
what
you've
learned
and
what
kind
of
what
kind
of
commitments
can
be
made.
A
A
If
you
would
like
to
watch
other
stories
from
the
show
go
to
this
week's
playlist,
we'll
tell
you
about
a
recently
completed
project
that
makes
getting
to
and
from
school
safer
for
both
students
and
parents,
plus
a
new
community
project

multiple

Under

we'll
take
you
