Description
Alternatives to Curbside Cleanup in 2023, join the City of Bloomington Plastic Busters team and don’t forget to catch Bloomington’s feature in a Midwestern travel program.
A
Thank
you.
Welcome
to
Bloomington
today,
I'm
Emily
Chaplin
thanks
for
joining
us.
First,
we
bring
you
the
Buzz
for
the
week
of
February
1st
through
the
7th.
This
is
your
friendly
reminder
that
curbside
cleanup
is
now
held
every
other
year
on
even
numbered
years.
That
means
no
curbside
Cleanup
in
2023,
but
we
have
a
list
of
alternatives
for
you.
As
part
of
the
bulky
item
Management
program,
the
city
is
piloting
a
new
service
for
a
monthly
collection
of
certain
bulky
items
for
reuse
and
recycling.
A
That
program
has
been
tested
with
some
Bloomington
homes
already
and
should
be
available

bulkies.
Some
items
that
were
collected
during
the
cleanup,
like
appliances
and
metal
items,
can
be
taken
year
round
to
the
Hennepin
County
problem
waste
drop-off
center
located
here
in
Bloomington.
The
facility
also
accepts
Electronics
hazardous
waste,
extra
recyclables
and
more
for
items
that
need
to
be
picked
up
as
garbage
as
well
as
large
appliances
and
electronics.
A
You
can
also
schedule
bulky
item
pickups
year-round
for
a
fee
through
Utility
Billing.
Another
option
is
to
hold
on
to
items
until
the
2024
curbside
pickup,
and
each
year
the
city
will
host
a
recycling
drop-off
event.
The
first
was
held
in
Fall
of
2022
and
there
will
be
one
again.
This
fall.
They
accept
things
like
Electronics
appliances
that
aren't
in
working
condition.
Paper
for
on-site
shredding
and
scrap
metal
will
be
accepted
for

of
all
sorts
of
items.
