This week on Inside Boulder News: Homeless Solutions, Dockless Bike Share, and Funkiphino
A
This
week
on
inside
boulder
news,
take
a
look
at
the
last
and
final
part
of
a
boulder
homeless
solution
series.
Community
members
may
soon
have
a
new
way
to
get
around
town
and
4th
of
July
is
almost
here
watch
this
van
bring
on
the
funk
at
Ralphie's
independence.
A
blast
welcome
to
inside

all
things:

July
first
marks
the
one
year
anniversary
of
the
sugar
sweetened
beverage
tax.
This
voter
initiative
incentive
places
a
tax
on
sugary
drinks
in
the
city.
A
Revenue
generated
from
the
tax
goes
to
health
promotions
and
general
wellness
programs
that
improve
health
equity.
During
its
first
year,
the
city
awarded
nearly
2.7
million
dollars
to
over
20
organizations
around
the
city.
A
recipient
of
this
fund
was
the

the
I

a
Dream
Foundation
has
been
in
the
community
since
1990.
Well,
it
first
began
as
a
dropout
prevention
program
for
low-income
youth
in
Boulder
over
the
years.
It's
expanded
its
services.

Parks
and
Recreation
Department
provides
physical
activities
and
access
to
recreation
during
the
time
that
I

a
Dream.
Foundation
provides
academic
enrichment.
So
with
that
Boulder
housing
partners
provides
the
community
centers
that
were
able
to
base
these
new
recreation
or
these
new
programs
out
of

A
D
E
We
started
this
program.
A
kid
didn't
know
how
to
do
a
push-up
and
now
we're
seeing
already
some
pretty
significant
zin,
just
ability
levels
not
just
physically,
but
also
academically,
and
so
we
know
that
our
consistent
and
constant
relationship
and
nurturing
supports
will
allow
for
these
kind
of
programs
to
really
get
executed
and
be
more
impactful.
Beginning.
A
D
Important
for
city
residents
to
know
that
the
funds
that
are
been
collected
through
the
tax
already
have
been
allocated
to
organizations
that
are
really
doing
phenomenal
work
here
in
our
community
and
the
2019
fund
round
will
hopefully
enable
more
organizations
to
investigate
and
take
advantage
of
this
funding
opportunity.
Applications.

Bikes
are
typically
found.
Three

The
location
and
checkup
process
are
all
done
through
the
company's
app
making
it
easier
for
users
to
pick
up
and
go
earlier.
This
month,
Boulder
City
Council
made
a
unanimous
vote
to
launch
a
pilot
program
to
city
policy,
to
limit
where
these
free
floating
bikes
end
up
and.
F
One
of
the
fundamental
elements
of
the
ordinance
is
that
the
companies
are
required
to
have
a
lock
to
mechanism
for
their
bikes.
That
is,
the
bikes
need
to
be
locked
to
a
bike
rack
before
and
after
each
use,
and
this
is
going
to
help
reduce
the
number
of
bikes
that
are
left
in
the
public
right-of-way.
This.
A
F
A
City
will
begin
accepting
applications
from
interested
vocalist
spectra
companies
in
August,
but
city
staff
say
it
could
be
some
time
before
community
members
see
any
additional
companies
rolling
into
the
boulder
market
for
more
information.

in

final
part
of
our
three-part

we'll

G
H
Entire
adult
homeless
services
system
is
helping
people
to
exit
homelessness
into
other
solutions
as
quickly
as
possible,
and
path
to
home
is
an
important
part
of
that
puzzle.
We
know
that
some
people
might
need
a
lower
level
of
support
for
a
shorter
amount
of
and
pacta
home
has
that
support
and
has
had
really
great
results
in
helping
people
get
to
housing
solutions.
Probably.
I
One
of
my
favorite
stories
is
a
lady
that
we
have,
that
is
elderly,
so
she
had
a
lot
of
medical
conditions
as
well
as
some
mental
health
lived
a
majority
of
her
life
on
the
street
over
30
years,
so
she
came
with
us.
She
was
sleeping
on
the
floor
and
the
churches
and
kept
coming
every
day
I'm.
So
we
actually
had
one
of
our
case
management
team
members
go
around
to
different
apartments
in
Boulder
and
they
found
her
an
amazing
apartment,
I'm
just
down
the
street
I'm.

important

their

is
one

that

twenty

preventing
fires
and
staying
safe
are
a
major
priority.
This
fourth
of
July
weekend
and
the
city
of
Boulder,
wants
to
remind
residents
of
some
important
things
to
keep
in
mind
as
the
holiday
weekend
approaches.
A
The
city
of
Boulder
is
reminding
residents
that
all
fireworks
are
illegal.
Throughout
the
city
of
Boulder
lighting,
fireworks
puts
our
open
space
in
melton
parks
areas
at
risk
for
wildland
fire.
Fireworks
are
also
a
cause
of
thousands
of
burns
and
eye
injuries
each
year.
So
please
leave
the
fireworks
shows
to
the
professional.
If
someone
is
caught
using
fireworks,
they
can
face
a
potential
fine
of
up
to
$1,000
and
up
to
90
days
in
jail.
Those
in
possession
of
fireworks
can
drop
them
off
at
their
local
fire
department.
No
questions
asked
just.
