A
A
Welcome
to
inside
Boulder
news,
I'm
Mike
Benway
lowes.
If
you're
looking
to
live
in
Boulder,
a
new
grant
opportunity
might
make
it
easier
than
you
think
the
city
is
participating
in
a
grant
program
that
helps
both
low
and
middle-income
homebuyers,
get
a
30-year
fixed-rate
mortgage
and
a
grant.
You
don't
have
to
pay
back
for
up
to
four
percent
of
their
down
payment.
The
effort
is
designed
to
enhance
existing,
affordable
home
ownership
programs
and
expand
the
focus
to
those
who
have
moderate
incomes,
but
still
struggle
to
find
options
in
the
current
housing
market.
It's.
B
Really
as
simple
as
an
affordable
mortgage
along
with
down
payment
assistance,
one
of
the
challenges
of
reaching
home
ownership
can
be
the
upfront
costs.
Prospective
buyers
can
expect
more
opportunity
out
there
in
the
marketplace,
because
where
they
had
been
trying
to
save
up
enough
money
for
down
payment
and
closing
cost
assistance,
they
actually
have
some
assistance
out
there
to
help
them
with
a
large
portion
of
that
of
those
costs.
B
The
Metro
mortgage
assistance
program
helps
open
up
assistance
for
even
a
higher
income
household,
so
households
that
had
not
been
able
to
receive
much
assistance
in
terms
of
down
payment
and
closing
cost
assistance.
Now
have
this
wonderful
program
to
provide
assistance.
We're
trying
to
do
some
outreach
and
spread
the
word
about
this
program
so
that,
when
buyers
get
out
there
in
the
marketplace,
they
can
walk
into
a
local
lender
and
ask
for
the
Metro
mortgage
assistance
plus
program
boulder.

a
new

transportation.
The
city
is
considering
a
pilot
program
to
allow
electric
bikes
on
some
routes.
Staff
has
been
collecting
public
input
about
the
idea
for
the
past
several

in

for

It's
been
a
distinctive
anchor
in
the
Civic
area
for
15
years,
and
now
that

Architecture
usually
is
of
its
place
and
its
materials
and
details.
What
this
brings
is.
It
really
brings
another
country
in
a
city
in
another
culture
and
a
representation
of
that
in
this
very
ornate
building,
as
you
know,
we're
doing
the
civic
area
plan
and
one
of
the
key
historic
resources
for
the
civic
area,
the
dushanbe
teahouse.
It
is
important
in
the
plan
not
only
because
of
a
structure
and
what
it
represents.
These
are

Sister

program,
but
it's
also
the
kind
of
activities
that
are
envisioned
for
the
civic
area.
