From YouTube: Press Conference with Congresswoman Pressley of 6-26-23
Description
City of Chelsea
A
A
As
we
continue
to
do,
the
work
of
recovering
from
the
impacts
of
the
pandemic
I
really
want
to
make
sure
that
no
worker,
no
family,
no
community,
no
municipality,
left
behind
and
I
think
this
is
the
third
Community
Project
funding
investment
that
we've
been
able
to
deliver
the
First
with
lots.
A
lot
of
Tiba
about
Workforce,
Development,
I,
think
that
was
300
000,
and
then
there
was
a
climate
mitigation
project
jointly
with
Chelsea
and
Emirates.
That
amount
escapes
me,
but
I'll
have
it
in
a
moment-
and
you
know
here
today
these
you
know
long
overdue.
A
A
A
Economic
trajectory
and,
of
course,
most
of
all
safety,
because
we
have
seen
an
uptick
in
cyclists,
pedestrian,
just
compromise
safety
when
it
comes
to
navigation
so,
but
so
welcome.
It's
good
to
be
with
everybody
again
and
I
want
to
thank
you
for
joining
our
conversation
today,
as
we
come
together
and
collectively
celebrate
this
two
million
dollar
investment
in
critical
infrastructure
here
in
Chelsea
I
know,
I
put
a
little
bit
out
of
order.
The
president
Robinson
so
I'll
turn
it
over
to
you
and
and
I'll.
Follow
you,
okay!
D
Like
to
welcome
everybody
here
today,
so
very
appreciate
it
that
as
the
recovery
from
the
pandemic
is
underway,
the
purpose
of
today's
event
is
to
welcome
the
congressman
who
charging
solid
version
start
2
million
BMI.
She
should
fill
up
and
discuss
Thomas
and
lock,
along
with
the
signature.
Strategic
investment
in
downtown
Broadway
car
I
contributed
to
the
equality
the
downtown
Broadway
car
was
home
to
over
120
minority
owned
small
businesses
to
bring
into
housing
options.
D
The
busting
Public
Power
190
infrastructure
is
supporting
small
businesses
and
empowering
residents
to
shape
a
future
downtown
key
to
promoting
responsible
for
sustainable
growth.
Congresswoman
Presley
has
been
a
big
supporter
of
the
city,
especially
as
it
relates
to
small
business
needs.
Climate
concerns
economic
growth.
Moreover,
the
congresswoman
has
subscribe
to
ensure
all
of
our
residents,
regardless
of
the
background
income
recovery
from
the
academic
people
as
such
I'm
pleased
to
accomplishment.
A
Tires
of
it,
but
I
am
always
going
to
give
you
your
flowers,
because
this
is
the
longest
serving
black
elected
official
and
the
entire
Commonwealth
of
Massachusetts,
so
I.
Thank
you
for
Paving.
The
way
for
me
and
more
diverse
representation
writ
large
and
also
again,
I
want
to
thank
everyone
around
the
table
here,
because
I
do
believe.
The
best
collaborations
are
those
that
are
Community,
Driven
and
government
indoors
and
Community
Project
funding
is
an
example
of
that.
You
know
it's
us
governing
and
working
to
deliver,
Investments
cooperatively.
A
A
Your
advocacy,
which
makes
this
most
recent
Federal
investment
possible
the
funds
we
have
secured
support
the
Improvement
of
the
Broadway
Corridor
home
to
an
array
of
small
businesses,
vibrant
public
spaces,
high
frequency,
Public
Transit
routes
and
dense
residential
housing.
This
project
encompasses
an
ambitious
vision
of
a
comprehensive
reconstruction
of
the
streetscape
and
utility
infrastructure
within
the
city.
These
resources
are
a
direct
investment
in
our
city
infrastructure
and
our
families
and
our
communities
that
take
immense
pride
in
our
Collective
efforts
on
this
and
after.
A
We
believe
that
these
resources
represent
a
step
towards
accelerating
Economic,
Opportunity
and
equity
and,
as
I
said,
whatever
makes
poorly
focused
on
is
we
do
the
work
of
recovering
from
this
pandemic,
although
we
know
that
these
inequities
and
disparities
existed
long
before
the
pandemic,
but
as
we
do
the
work
of
recovering
from
the
pandemic,
that
we
leave
no
worker,
no
family,
no
Community
or
municipality
behind
so
again,
I.
Thank
you
all
for
joining
us
in
this
important
discussion.
A
E
Thank
you,
Congress
Roman,
and
thank
you
everybody
for
joining
us
this
morning.
So
as
Congress
Presley
mentioned
and
as
council
president
Robinson
stated,
this
really
does
represent
an
unprecedented
investment
in
infrastructure
in
the
community
in
the
downtown.
E
F
Thank
you
so
much
Alex
hi
everyone,
my
name,
is
Judith
Garcia
I
have
two
roles:
I
actually
work.
Two
hats
today,
I've
been
a
city
councilor
for
district
five,
which
is
part
of
Chelsea
it's.
Actually.
This
is
the
area
that
is
going
to
benefit
from
the
amazing
world
that
you're
doing
but
I'm
also
the
state
representative
of
the
11
Suffolk
District,
Chelsea
and
Everett,
and
this
is
a
incredible
incredible
project
for
us.
F
We've
had
it
for
the
past
eight
years
by
program,
constituents
one
talk
about
the
need
for
one
access
to
Broadway,
but
two,
it's
very
special
for
the
senior
residents
who
live
at
272
Broadway,
which
is
at
the
intersection
of
one
of
the
most
States.
Actually,
the
Commonwealth's
most
dangerous
intersection
or
the
most
vehicle
vehicle
accidents
happen,
industrial
accidents
happen
and
with
this
project,
I
want
to
commend
you
for
doing
the
back
end
work,
because
we
know
that
getting
this
funding.
G
F
A
lot
of
work
in
the
back
end
right
and
those
those
closed
doors
you're,
getting
this
fun
day,
you're
having
triple
impact.
You
are
tackling
social
determination
Health.
We
are
making
sure
that
downtown
becomes
more
accessible
for
all
the
pedestrians
or
cyclists
for
people
who
we're
inviting
new
customers
to
our
downtown,
where
we
have
small
businesses,
a
lot
of
them,
people
of
color
who
need
more
customers,
but
above
all
your
safety
miles,
and
you
forget
that
it's
been
eight
years
that
these
senior
residents
at
272
Broadway
have
asked
for
traffic
light
a
traffic
light.
F
It
sounds
like
nothing,
but
we
need
the
funding
and
the
funding
that
you're
bringing
here
today
is
going
to
make
that
happen.
In
2018,
we
started
with
the
reimagining
Broadway
plan
and
it
was
a
plan
that
began
2018..
It
was
a
plan
that
involved
voices
and
key
stakeholders
of
small
business
owners
of
our
Council
I
want
to
also
command
councilor
everybody's.
H
F
And
we
began
a
plan
and
a
list
of
goals
along
with
the
administration
led
by
Adam
strain
as
well,
and
many
of
the
student
workers
here
and
be
detailed,
a
lot
of
the
goals
that
we
have
to
improve
and
Be
Imagined
downtown.
But
we
needed
the
night
and
today
it's
joyous
day
because
you're
hearing
about
the
money.
So
thank
you
so
much.
F
A
Because
you
have
incredible
Community
Advocates
here,
but
you
all
work
together,
cooperatively
and,
as
I
saw
often
characterize
Chelsea.
It
is
tiny,
but
it
is
mighty.
Okay,.
C
I
I
I
A
I
mean
Chelsea
never
disappoints.
It
is
one
of
the
cities
that
has
a
very
durable
and
unique
intergenerational
model
of
organizing
and
community
building
and
certain
local
appetitiva
plays
a
critical
world.
H
Funding,
for
is
that
environmental
justice
use
air
pollution
and
communities
are
not
things
that
occur
in
silos.
They
transcend
Municipal
boundaries
because
they
impact
people's
lives
on
the
day-to-day,
so
investing
in
one
part
of
Chelsea
or
what
part
of
every
one
part
of
these
sponsorship
is
really
interesting
in
people's
lives
and
improve
and
improving
their
Air
Quality
Clean
Water,
all
those
kind
of
things
for
them.
So
thank
you.
So
much
congresswoman
taxi
very
work
on
that
I
think
specifically,
Alex.
J
H
A
Thank
you.
It's
I.
A
To
say
to
Humble,
but
actually
I'm,
very
boastful
about
the
assets
of
the
Massachusetts,
seven
has
and
I'm
grateful
the
organizations.
It
really
is
a
national
model
which
you
call
the
Massachusetts
stuff
in
HSN,
specifically
home
yeah.
So
thank
you.
You
all
have
a
footprint
in
many
in
many
areas
of
progress
and
thank
you
and
activism
too.
A
Council
president
said
I
know
you
sort
of
spoke
at
Beyonce.
Is
there
anything
else
that
you
want
to
do
in
the
parade?
For
me.
C
K
Hi
everyone,
my
name,
is
Jennifer
Hassan
I'm
the
example
at
the
Chelsea
Chamber
of
Commerce,
I'm,
truly
honored,
and
privileged
to
be
here
today,
among
so
many
community
members
and
I'm
happy
to
represent
the
small
business
owners
abroad.
Our
offices
are
located,
so
we
take
a
lot
of
pride
in
what
happens
if
I'll
talk
about
it,
we
work
very
closely
with
the
city
of
Chelsea
having
to
pay
for
the
Bible
to
kind
of
make
sure
yeah
receiving
or
have
access
to
so
I'm
really
honored
to
be
here.
K
I
appreciate
all
the
work
that
you've
done
to
help
with
the
infrastructure
of
downtown
Broadway,
raising
my
own
family
as
well
so
I'm
very
proud
to
see
what
happened
Chelsea
over
the
over
the
years
and
my
daughters
can
safely
walk,
went
down
to
Broadway,
which
I'm
not
quite
really
looking
something
that
I'm
about
to
do,
and
that's
thanks
to
all
the
hard
work
I've
ever
done
on
this
program
today.
So
thank
you
very
much.
Thank.
A
K
A
L
L
C
J
My
name
is
Omar
Miranda,
we're
in
the
city
and
the
Housing
Community
Development
Department
I'm,
the
Small
Business
Development
specialist.
So
some
of
this
is
kind
of
my
things.
I
talked
to
constantly
in
like
in
Sanford
Corner
unlocked
again
and
his
project
definitely
helped
our
downtown
Broadway.
This
is
to
keep
their
doors
open.
Chelsea
has
a
good
problem
about
having
full
store
crunch,
there's
a
lot
of
communities
that
have
to
be
obviously
situation.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
we
keep
those
storefronts.
You
know
occupied
and.
G
J
G
A
A
You
know
I
would
call
saying
the
Gladys
at
one
point
at
the
height
of
the
pandemic,
when
there
were
these
emergency
supplemental
funds
that
were
coming
out
and
particularly
for
Title
One
funding,
Esther
funding
within
our
schools.
There
were
a
lot
of
people
that
were
nervous
about
using
this
one-time
funding
because
they
said
you
know
we're
not
going
to
have
it
in
perpetuity
and
we
don't
want
to
stand
up
things
that
we
won't
be
able
to
sustain
and
I
said.
Well,
if
you
don't
want
it,
Chelsea
will
know
what
to
do
with
it,
because.
A
A
You
know
that
you're
always
actively
seeking
Community
input
and
you
all
know,
I,
believe
the
people
closest
to
the
bank
should
be
the
closest
to
the
power
dropping
in
a
form
of
policy
making,
and
you
want
model
that
each
and
every
day
not
just
informing
and
shaping
your
policies,
but
the
funds
on
the
municipal
level,
State
and
the
federal
level.
So
thank
you
for
your
leadership
and
for
just
being
tremendous
Role,
Models
I.
A
B
M
Because
that
is
where
this
money
is
going
to
be
Transformers,
it's
not
just
about
infrastructure
and
just
about
small
businesses.
It's
about
the
people
that
are
in
these
small
businesses
that
will
take
advantage
of
those
neighborhood
and
they're
going
to
be
walking
those
streets
and
taking
advantage
of
the
amazing
opportunities
that
this
Community
Development
Center.
M
So
that's
something
I
wanted
to
convey
to
everybody
here,
because
dollars
have
people's
names
behind
them
right
like
Facebook
here
and
you,
you
figure
that
out
and
you've
done
this,
your
entire
credit
Boston
Council
to
Congress,
but
not
just
in
this
area
too.
Obviously,
this
community,
who
has
cured
housing,
EJ
you've,
led
up
so
many
issues,
anti-pocket
editions
that
the
residents
depend
on
the
Government
contact
you
for
themselves.
They
don't
know
what
to
go,
sometimes
sometimes
they're,
afraid
of
government
and.
A
A
It
is
good
to
have
a
moment
of
levity
and
to
be
celebratory
knowing
that
the
tangible
impact
you
know
of
these
Investments
so
appreciate
all
of
you,
okay,
great
all,
right!
Well,
what
a
wonderful
time
we've
had
together
so
far
and
now
we're
getting
to
the
moment
everyone's
been
waiting
for.
To
recap.
We
are
here
to
celebrate
and
uplift
the
two
million
dollar
Federal
investment
made
possible
through
Community
Project
funding.
This.
A
Infrastructure
infrastructure
project
here
in
Chelsea
again
the
greatest
investment
that
we
can
make
our
greatest
infrastructure,
is
our
people,
and
this
is
going
to
support
the
safety
of
our
people,
the
health
of
our
people,
their
economic
mobility
and
the
vibrancy
of
our
small
businesses.
It
has
truly
been
my
honor
to
fight
alongside
everyone
here
today
to
deliver
these
federal
funds.
I
also
want
to
acknowledge
of
the
partnership
of
my
partners
in
good
trouble
in
Senators,
Warren
and
Marky
respectively.
So
can
we
please
thank
the
both
of
them
for
their
support
in
making
this
possible?
A
A
Will
support
the
Improvement
of
the
Broadway
Corridor
home
to
an
array
of
small
businesses
by
their
public
spaces,
high
frequency,
Public
Transit
routes
and
dense
residential
housing.
The
project
envisions
a
comprehensive
reconstruction
of
streetscape
and
utility
infrastructure
to
address
safety
issues
ultimately
saved
lives,
to
enhance
accessible
and
safe
public
transit
and
to
promote
an
equitable
economic
recovery
for
the
city
and
its
residents.
This
project
encompasses
a
holistic
approach
to
reconstructing
the
streetscape
and
utility
infrastructure.
Its
goals
again
include
addressing
safety
concerns,
enhancing
public
transit
accessibility
and
reliability.
A
I
want
to
really
underscore
that
in
promoting
an
equitable
economic
recovery
for
the
city
and
its
residents,
this
project
strives
to
create
sustainable
and
thriving
Urban
environment.
Again,
I
think
everyone
here
contributing
to
today's
success.
I.
Thank
you
for
your
thought.
Leadership.
Your
counsel,
your
partnership,
your
Sweat
Equity
your
visioning
and
eagerly
anticipate
our
ongoing
collaboration.
As
we
strive
to
create
an
environment,
it
really
promotes
economic
opportunities
for
all,
ensuring
that
the
benefits
of
this
project
are
accessible
to
everyone
and
contributing
overall
prosperity
of
Chelsea.
A
I
do
believe
that
our
greatest
wealth
as
a
commonwealth
is
the
health
of
our
people
and
I
do
believe
that
this
supports
our
help
in
every
single
way,
whether
you're
talking
about
the
vibrancy
and
the
resilience
of
our
small
businesses.
Whether
you're
talking
around
liberal
Public,
Safety,
making
sure
that
people
can
navigate
a
Discord
or
a
safely
and
have
a
peace
of
mind,
in
particular,
as
representative
Garcia
lifted
up
our
elders
to
have
that
peace
of
mind
or
whether
you're
talking
about
our
our
other
efforts
specific
to
environmental.
A
A
D
Thank
you
for
joining
us.
My
city
of
Chelsea
is
pleased
to
announce
a
two
million
focused
on
upgrading
utility
and
service
infrastructure
and
the
downtown
secured
by
Congress
from
the
Crusty.
The
city
is
grateful
to
the
congressman
compressively
for
securing
this
much
needed
funding
in
support
of
the
city's
council's
goals
and
modernize
in
the
downtown.
The
downtown
Broadway
caller
is
the
Cornerstone
of
the
city's
Economic
Development
agenda
city
council
has
invested
significant
resources
and
staff
have
concentrated
LED
variety
of
projects
in
the
downtown.
D
These
include
the
storefront
approval
program,
we've
designed
a
Bellingham,
Square,
Plaza
and
public
transportation
initiative.
The
resources
secured
by
the
phone
has
been
impressive
will
enable
the
city
to
carry
out
a
significant
infrastructure
project
vital
for
the
future
of
downtown
facility
reconstruction
and
transportation
improvements.
D
D
Right,
my
role
that
the
product
will
operate,
utilities
to
promote
future
Economic
Development,
such
as
new
commercial
development,
mixing
income,
housing,
accounting
for
climate
change.
New
training
through
construction
will
be
designed
to
lessen
the
flooding
during
extreme
Stones.
The
product
is
currently
under
designed
for
construction
sales
to
begin
in
2023,
City
and
apartments

D
Cloud.
Completion
of
this
project
will
unlock
unprecedented
opportunities
for
economic
and
Small
Business
Development.
This
will
complete
the
city's
sizeable
investment
to
continually
support.
Small
businesses
approved
public
transportation,
overhaul
streetscape
infrastructure
to

downtown
the
Middle
East.
This
project
would
not
have
been
caught
possible
without
the
congresswoman's
drive
and
advocacy.
The
tenacious
Warehouse
on
behalf
of
the
City
of
Charleston
I
want
to
thank
the
congressman,
Preston
and
her
team
for
bringing
these
resources
to
travel.
D
F
F
I
need
to
be
walking
there
for
our
seniors
to
feel
safe.
This
area,
the
lower
Robert
Corridor,
has
one
of
the
Commonwealth
most
dangerous
intersections,
where
we
have
seen,
unfortunately,
witness
fatalities,
and
that
is
going
to
end
as
soon
as
we
put
this
money
to
work
and
I.
Think
that
is
the
real
impact
of
this
project.
The
administration
here
at
the
Topsy
level
has
worked
hard
to
develop
the
studies
and
the
the
projects
that
will
allow
us
to
improve
traffic
in
Broadway,
but
this
money
is
going
to
allow
us
to
achieve
those
goals
and
I.
F
M
Good
afternoon,
everyone
good
afternoon,
I've
already,
you
know,
told
the
congressman
and
we're
making
your
part,
like
you
said
earlier
about
what
this
funny
means
to
Chelsea
and
what
it
means
to
our
residents.
M
Congressman
Presley
is
a
champion
a
fighter,
someone
who
doesn't
make
excuses.
She
just
goes
and
gets
it.
She
fights
for
what
we
need
his
community
and
what
she
said
earlier
today.
The
inequities
that
exist
in
this
district
and
I
always
say
that
everyone
Chelsea
and
Chelsea
particular
we
will
not
pay
a
share.
M
And
I
promise
and
recognizes
that,
and
she
understands
our
people
understands
our
community.
These
Investments
go
very
go
beyond
the
dollars
and
they're,
seeing
in
bricks
and
more
and
a
Peyton
and
sidewalls.
They
create
opportunities
for
our
businesses,
for
our
residents
give
them
resources
to
live
it's
by
the
pool,
support
their
families
by
housing.
All
that
starts
with
getting
a
fair
shake,
a
fair
opportunity
to
succeed
on
community
and
I
promised
someone
who's
been
doing
that
in
times,
not
just
in
this
area,
but
also
in
housing,
immigrant
issues,
food
and
security,
educational
opportunities.
M
That
is
what
we
want
as
our
representative
in
Congress.
Someone
who
doesn't
just
talk
about
bringing
resources
but
actually
has
results.
Support
is
great.
We
all
love
support.
We
want
action
and
our
Congressman
brings
that
action
to
our
communities
unless
Evan
today,
a
2
million
dollar
investment
opportunity.
So
thank
you
for
every
day
for
our
district.
E
Good
afternoon
everybody
so
on
behalf
of
the
city
of
Chelsea,
we
want
to
thank
congresswoman
Presley
for
our
unremitting
support
on
this
effort,
as
well
as
on
a
number
of
infrastructure,
Small,
Business,
Development
and
climate
resilience,
efforts
of
the
community.
You
know,
time
and
time
again
the
congresswoman
and
our
staff
have
made
sure
that
resources
are
equally
dispersed
in
child
support.
We
have
an
ambitious
projects
like
the
downtown
Broadway
infrastructure.
E
L
E
As
well
as
ensuring
about
the
city,
invest
resources
in
upgrading
utility
and
service
infrastructure
to
promote
safety
resilience
to
better
quality
of
life.
Lastly,
I
just
want
to
express
our
gratitude
for
our
community-based
partners,
this
project
that
includes
that
have
been
working
for
years
with
the
city
and
on
this
and
better
the
Chelsea
Chamber
of
Commerce,
who
have
been
vital
allies
and
supporting
our
small
business
Community

as
well
as

who
have

of
