generation
american,
her
family

are
in
the

2013
and
just
three
years
later

officer
in
our
community.
Today
she
is
one
of
just
a
few
females
we
have
on
the
force,
but
is
constantly
mentoring
and
supporting
the
recruitment
of
more
female
officers
through
her
leadership
in
the
chelsea
youth
police
academy,
miss
barbosa.

to
her
coming

chelsea
she's

same

she

doing
a
really
gentle
job
in
the
state
building.
She
never
tried
to
get
get
in
front
of
herself
and
take
credit
for
everything
that
was
being
done.

watched
her
on
the
streets
help
folks
walk
with
kids,
you're,
just
a
credit
to
our
community
people.
Look
up
to
you
not
just
because
of
your
color,
but
because
of
your
dignity
and
your
respect
and
your
honor,
and
your
do
that
you're.

prior
to
one
of

individuals
who
I
nominated,
and
that
is
detective.
Roseball
medina
and
I
didn't
get
to
say
a
lot
or
during
the

her
nomination.

she
came
to
chelsea
as
a
young
woman
working
a
part-time
job
and
a
lot
of
people
don't
know
that.
But
one
of
her
first
jobs
coming
to
chelsea
was
actually
working.
Tito's
bakery
and
like
many
young
women
in
the
city
of
chelsea
started
off
there.
And
it's
been
a
joy
over
the
those
40
years
to
see
those
young
women
start
off
there
and
then
go
on
to
bigger
and
better
things
and
rosie's.

Definitely
one
of
those
people
who
did
that
who
went
back
to
school
and
attained
her
high
school
diploma,
while
a
while
being
a
full-time,
mom
and
went
to
graduating
from
bunk
hill
community
college
to
getting
a
degree
and
it
was
going
to
be
going
to
law
school
but
ended
up
joining
the
chelsea
police
department.
And
that's
where
we
were
lucky
enough
to
have
her
she's
been
there
now
for
over
29
years.

And
she
leads
the
domestic
violence
unit
holds
a
master's
degree
in
criminal
justice
and
she's
worked,
particularly
in
working
with
families
on
dealing
with
family
violence
and
in
communities
like
chelsea.
That
is
just
an
important
role
to
play.
So
again,
I
wanted
to
thank
you
and
it's
great
to
witness
all
of
this,
so
congratulations
on
your
recognition.
