B
Afternoon
and
thank
you
for
coming
to
this
afternoon
to
help
us
celebrate
the
opening
of
the
follow
me
trail
and
honoring,
also
the
memory
and
dedication
and
devotion
that
oh
and
ditch
field
have
for
South
Columbus
and
for
Clemens
of
the
whole.
Thank
you
again
for
being
here.
You
may
recall
that
back
in
2012,
you
voted
for
this.
You
voted
for
this
and
approved
that's
one
of
the
projects
we
had
set
aside
him
to
the
way.
Let's
call
the
transportation
investment
Act
of
2012.
We
had.
B
We
have
eight
projects
that
you
helped
fund
with
this
to
follow.
The
following
trail
was
really
one
of
those
those
projects.
There
was
also
some
additional
funding
that
came
from
Council
of
congressman
bishops
office
of
the
help.
Doesn't
maybe
this
project
to
come
about,
and
we
just
want
to
thank
you.
You
should
give
yourself
a
round
of
applause
for
doing
that.
That
kind
of
work.
B
We
started
when
we
started
out
in
2012,
and
the
mayor
will
recall
this
as
well,
because
she
and
I
wrote
to
several
meetings
on
this
and
we
dealt
with
trying
to
put
this
package
together.
We
realized
at
that
time
that
we
were
going
to
do
this.
We
were
gonna
be
a
part
of
it.
We
had
to,
we
were
gonna,
make
we
were
going
to
make
compromises.
I
want
you
to
know
now
the
promises
we
made
our
promises,
we're
going
to
keep
and
that's
where
we
stand
today
is.
B
It
is
really
coming
forward
you're
going
to
see
a
lot
more
projects
coming
behind
this
one,
particularly
dealing
with
the
River
Walk,
which
will
announce
sometime
in
January
or
do
basically
doing
the
same
thing
and
actually
completion
of
the
River
Walk
at
that
point.
So
just
be
mindful
of
that
fact.
So
again.
Welcome
to
you.
Thank
you
for
being
here.
I
hope
you
enjoy
the
ceremony
this
time.
B
C
Let
us
pray
eternal
God,
our
Father.
It
is
once
more
and
again
that
we,
your
people,
have
gathered
ourselves
together
in
this
place,
to
give
you
honor
to
thank
you
for
your
gift
of
love,
give
the
sacrifice
and
most
of
all
your
gift
of
grace
and
of
mercy.
In
addition,
my
father,
we
gather
today
to
honor
the
life,
the
love
and
the
legacy,
the
one
of
your
own
and
our
dear
brother
Ont.
C
We
strive
to
live
a
life
worthy
of
that
lack,
lasting
legacy
for
your
kingdom
to
invest
our
lives
in
a
way
that
will
make
an
eternal
difference
and
to
allow
us
to
cling
to
not
what
is
comfortable
but
embrace
challenges
that
are
placed
before
us,
therefore,
is
only
befitting
my
father
that
we
dedicate
this
bridge
in
his
honor,
representing
the
connecting
spirit
that
brother
did
feel
represented.
Your
word
declares
in
proverbs
13:20
2,
that
a
good
man
leaves
an
inheritance
to
his
children's
children.
C
Bless
this
day,
my
father
blessed
Mabel
and
drew
a
Susan,
his
sons,
wife,
Tracy
daughters,
Carol
and
Dora
grandchildren
and
great-grandchildren
to
come
and
allow
your
loving
arms
of
strength
and
peace
to
forever
surround
them
and
all
others
that
pass
over
it
through
this
monument,
as
we
are
reminded
to
connect
ourselves,
my
father
to
a
purpose
larger
than
ourselves-
and
it
is
in
the
majestic
marvelous
and
magnificent
name
of
the
master,
we
pray
in
Jesus
name.
We
decree
it
so
amen
and
amen.
D
We're
always
and
everywhere
in
God's
presence,
and
we
as
Catholics,
we
love
to
bless
everything
anything.
That's
you
know.
In
standing
in
front
of
us,
we
like
to
bless
it
because
I
always
felt
a
little
bit
extra
God's
grace
never
hurt
anybody
right,
so
Lord
God.
Once
again,
we
call
upon
your
name
to
come
down
upon
this.
This
dedication,
the
people
here
gathered
today,
those
who
will
use
this
bridge
for
recreation
or
for
safety
Lord.
D
B
E
F
E
B
Thank
you,
you
may
be
seated.
Thank
you.
Spencer
high
school
ROTC
color
guard
for
doing
that,
for
that
means
means
an
awful
lot
for
a
ceremony
like
this
type
I'd
be
amiss
if
I
and
I'm-
probably
I'm
gonna
miss
something
here,
but
I
want
to
recognize
that
all
our
elected
officials
and
special
folks
other
than
our
guest
of
honor
here,
which
is,
is
the
ditch
field
family.
We
have
some
elected
officials
here,
I
see
mayor,
elect,
skip
Henderson
they've
been
the
very
back
back
there.
B
B
Counselor
House,
thank
you.
John
House
is
here
with
us
a
day.
We're
grateful
for
your
support
in
being
here
as
well
part
of
the
part
of
the
reasons
I
like
doing
these
things
I
get
to
introduce
folks
and
especially
when
it's
special
people,
it's
my
honor
and
privilege
right
now
to
introduce
to
you,
our
city,
ninth
mayor
mayor
Teresa,
Pike
Thomason
and
the
mirror
I
got
to
thinking
about
this.
B
G
G
That's
some
of
our
best
and
brightest
right
there
and
that's
what
we
do
this
for.
That's
why
we
reinvest
in
our
community?
That's
why
we're
always
staying
ahead
of
where
the
next
generation
wants
to
be
for
a
great
city.
That's
largely
why
we're
here
today,
as
Rick
was
saying
we
have
many
elected
officials
here,
the
sheriff
counselor
house,
soon-to-be
councillor
Crabb,
of
course,
you're
going
to
hear
from
councillors,
Huff
and
Woodson
here
in
a
minute
mayor
elect
Henderson.
It's
so
good
to
see
you
again.
G
Of
course
you
spent
some
20
years
on
council
we're
all
here.
Just
like
you
all
just
celebrate
this
great
moment
as
I
look
out,
I
see
so
many
people
that
had
their
hand
on
the
wheel
of
this
progress
of
South
Columbus
people
that,
even
in
the
days
when
everyone
thought
well
gee,
let's
just
keep
moving
north.
G
Keep
moving
east,
let's
just
keep
moving
west,
and
we
don't
really
need
to
think
about
reinvesting
in
ourselves.
There
were
people
here
in
the
trenches.
That
said
this
is
a
community
worth
saving.
This
is
a
community
people,
love
and
I.
See
you
all
there.
It
is
because
of
you.
We
stand
here
today
and
because
of
Owen
dent
field,
maple
ditch
field
their
family.
They
they
were
the
ones
out
there
tilling
the
field
so
that
we
can
reap
this
harvest
we're
here
today
to
read:
they
wouldn't
let
us
forget
about
it.
G
G
There
were
some
skeptics,
even
in
our
community
who
thought
Walmart,
they're
everywhere
big
deal
you
we
needed
a
great
store
like
that
to
create
receipts
to
show
other
businesses
how
profitable
they
could
be,
and
in
fact,
as
you
all
know,
just
last
year
that
was
named
one
of
the
most
profitable
Walmart's
in
the
country.
So
we
proved
them
right.
G
They
may
not
own
a
car
when
they
get
older
and
we
need
to
have
a
connected
transportation
grid.
That
includes
automobiles.
That
includes
other
things
too,
and
I
want
to
recognize
our
planning
department
led
Emily
by
Rick
Jones.
If
you're
with
the
planning
department
stand
up.
If
you
already
standing
kind
of
wave
your
arms,
you
know
kind
of
like
the
stand
up.
G
Because
they're
on
the
front
end,
they
might
get
a
token
recognition
on
the
back
end,
just
because
there's
so
many
people
to
thank
and
recognize.
But
the
fact
of
the
matter
is
it's
the
vision
of
the
planning
department
which
comes
from
you
all
as
citizens.
That
leads
to
great
days
like
this.
When
this
project
first
came
up
Rick's
right,
we
were
looking
at
the
teeth
flossed,
which
was
a
one
penny
sales
tax
that
you
all
graciously
agreed
to
add
to
your
tax
burden,
because
you
knew
it
was
going
to
return
dividend
for
you.
G
You
agreed
to
invest
in
it,
but
we
didn't
know
at
the
time
they
proposed
that
tax,
whether
or
not
it
would
pass.
But
we
wanted
to
have
one
heck
of
a
list
to
give
the
voters
to
vote
on
and
Rick
came
forward.
His
department
came
forward
with
a
list
of
projects,
and
this
was
among
them
and-
and
you
voted
for
that
penny
sales
tax,
largely
because
of
this
because
of
the
renewal
and
reinvestment
in
South
Columbus,
and
you
were
reaping
dividend
today.
This
is
going
to
be
an
amenity
for
us.
G
It's
going
to
be
an
economic
development
tool
because
it's
creating
the
infrastructure
and
the
quality
of
life
vibrancy
that
people
want
to
live
near
and
round
around
we're
going
to
see
to
the
extent
we
haven't
already
seen
it
a
renaissance
in
Oakland
Park
those
homes
are
going
to
become
more
and
more
desirable,
as
this
vibrancy
is
around
them
know
that
you
did
this,
you
did
this.
The
Planning
Department
took
your
vision,
you
insisted
for
it.
You
got
out
there
and
got
your
neighbors
and
friends
and
family
to
vote
for
this.
G
Among
other
great
projects,
and
today
we
see
the
fruits
of
that
labor.
So
today
is
really
your
day
and
I
want
to
commend
you
for
that,
but
this
is
going
to
be
a
place.
This
follow
me
trail
so
aptly
named
where
we
come
together,
not
just
to
recreate,
but
to
connect
to
commune
it's
going
to
connect
our
families
connect
our
neighborhoods
once
again,
I
want
to
recognize
those
military
officials
here
today.
Thank
you.
So
much
for
joining
us.
G
I
just
gave
an
interview
today
about
the
connectedness
of
our
military
community
to
our
civilian
community,
and
this
follow
me
trail
stands
as
a
physical
manifestation
of
that
connectedness.
Thank
you
all
for
being
here.
Thank
you
for
your
service,
our
veterans
as
well,
and
thank
you
all
the
families,
the
community
that
made
this
possible.
God
bless
you
and
congratulations.
B
Like
thank
you
Mary
Thompson.
Would
you
appreciate
that,
and
we
do
do
especially
appreciate
your
leadership
for
the
last
eight
years.
Thank
you
for
that
and
thank
you
for
sure.
Your
support
at
this
time
now
I'm
going
to
ask
the
following
folks:
come
Isaiah
Keithley
our
city
manager
will
come
first,
followed
by
city,
councilor,
Mimi,
Woodson
and
then
city
councilor,
very
tough
and
then
I'm
going
to
reserve
the
right
to
introduce.
They
will
ditch
feel
good,
makes
remarks
as
well.
So
mr.
Hinkley.
A
A
A
Here
in
our
city,
you
heard
the
mayor
mention
that
this
project
will
bring
us
to
about
22
miles
of
walking,
biking
and
jogging
trail
from
Lake,
Oliver,
marina
to
Fort
Benning,
and
we
are
happy
to
have
the
Fort
Benton
representation
here
today
and
so
as
I
thought
about
this
two
plus
2.5
miles
plus
a
minus
trio
and
then
the
one
final
piece
that
we
were
waiting
on.
The
bridge
I
pondered.
A
Is
it
that
a
bridge
symbolizes
and
when
I
googled
it
I,
found
that
a
bridge
similes
progress
connections
and
stability
and
then
I
thought
about
what
was
it
that
Owen
ditch
field
was
working
for
and
I
realized
Owen
ditch
field
was
working
for
Progress
connections
and
stability
and
so
to
the
late
Owen,
ditch
field
and
to
Mabel
I,
say
a
job.
Well
done.
What
do
you
say.
A
A
A
E
A
Ballot
and
I
think
about
where
streetscape
in
Fort
Benning
Road
from
the
roundabout
all
the
way
to
the
fort
Bend
and
gate
I'm
talking
about
twelve
foot,
wide
sidewalks
and
trees
and
Street
scapes,
I
think
about
the
area
in
transition
that
at
old
casita
rolling
on
Cedar
Road.
It's
going
to
be
a
roundabout
think
about
transitions.
In
that
see
the
world
and
I
wanted
in
five
there's
going
to
be
an
interchange,
and
the
mayor
mentioned
the
Walmart
and
I
think
about
three
point:
five
billion
dollars
being
spent
at
Fort,
Benning
and
I.
A
A
H
H
To
me,
this
day
is
very
special
and
very
touching
to
my
heart,
because
the
did
show
family
lived,
south
Columbus.
If
you
live
in
South
Columbus,
you
will
know
in
Dixville.
He
will
not
get
your
door
and
say
hi
hi
a
moment.
Are
you
ready
to
work?
That's
how
I'm
hey
horns,
I'm
Mabel
with
her
little
pastry,
ready
to
share
Devon
matter
of
fact,
I
told
her.
It's
been
a
while
I
need
some
pastry.
H
So
for
me
this
is
very
important,
because
Owens
was
one
of
the
individuals
that
talked
me
into
running
for
office
and
my
you
might
not
see
everything
at
this
moment
at
the
second.
You
need
to
close
your
eyes
and
look
at
where
we
were
and
where
we're
going.
The
bridge
is
a
symbol
of
the
hard
work,
his
dedication,
his
sacrifice
him
and
his
family
made.
When
we
people
would
say
no,
it
can't
be
done.
Owen
said
yes,
it
could
be
done.
H
Just
as
we
say,
follow
me
that
was
almost
there
were
many
days
when
he
didn't
agree
with
me.
He
didn't
hesitate
to
pull
my
little
ear
and
tell
me
there
were
many
days
he
agreed
and
you
were
telling
me
job
well
done.
He
is
very
close
to
my
heart
and
he's
still
here
with
us,
and
this
is
a
symbol.
This
is
why,
when
this
bridge
came
about,
I
said
the
perfect
name
for
this
bridge.
It's
Oh
index
feel
because
this
is
the
way
we're
going
to
remember
each
step.
H
We
take
each
time
we
drive
through
each
time.
We
look
we're
going
to
remember
Owen,
because
Owen
dedicated
his
life
to
South
Cologne
and
it's
not
over,
because
for
those
that
stay
behind
you
need
to
put
on
your
boots
and
walk
his
shoes.
There
is
more
development
coming
to
South
Columbus
a
lot
more
and
as
time
go
by
the
announcements
will
come
you're
going
to
be
impressed.
H
It's
going
to
give
all
those
that
have
lost
a
sense
of
pride
in
South,
Columbus,
they're
gonna,
get
that
pride
back.
They're
gonna
want
to
do
like
go
and
say:
take
your
little
garbage
bag,
walk
up
the
streets
and
pick
up
the
trash.
You're
gonna
want
to
knock
on
the
door
and
ask
someone
why
you
have
that
there
can
I
help
you
clean
it.
So
we
can
better
our
community.
H
It's
all
coming
I'm
saddened
that
Owens
cannot
be
with
us
physically
to
see
it,
but
I
know
I
know
for
a
fact
that
no
one
can
tell
me
any
different.
Does
he's
watching
upon
us
and
he
is
saying
continue,
don't
stop
because
I'm
not
here
so
I
tell
the
people
from
Oakland
Park.
You
might
not
see
it,
but
it's
coming
and
we
need
you.
One
person
cannot
do
it
alone.
We
can
make
Owens
dreams
come
true,
and
this
is
the
true
history
of
it,
his
organization
that
he
built
many
times,
try
to
fall.
H
But
you
know
what
his
heart
his
finger
is
still
longing
and
that
heart
keeps
beeping.
We
need
to
embrace
South
Columbus
concerned
citizens.
We
need
to
do
projects
we
need
to
be
out
there.
We
need
to
encourage
people
that
move
into
our
community
to
see
the
value,
the
beauty
of
South.
You
need
to
invite
those
that
say:
oh
I
can't
go
over
there,
it's
so
bad
invite
them,
so
they
can
see
your
beautiful
home.
They
can
see
not
that
little
piece.
H
Everybody
focuses
on
I
like
to
invite
people
to
my
home
because
when
they
come,
they
say-
oh,
my
god,
I
didn't
know.
This
was
like
this
hello
I've
been
here
for
28
years,
I've
been
here.
H
Yes,
we
have
problems,
but
it
could
be
done
and
I'm
hoping
that
now
in
2019,
hey
are
you
hearing
me
Donna
Lisa,
Rick,
Perry
I,
hope
that
finally
will
revive
his
South
Lumpkin
road
so
that
we
could
really
take
a
pride
in
our
community
to
say
accomplishments
are
coming.
There
are
three
more
announcements
coming
shortly.
All
we
gotta
do
is
be
ready
to
help
put
on
our
boots
and
make
it
happen.
H
So
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart
to
you,
Mabel
to
the
families,
to
the
people
of
South,
Columbus
I'm,
not
perfect,
but
I
love,
South,
Cologne
and
I
will
be
here
in
or
out
of
office.
So
I
died
because
Owen
taught
me
the
beauty
of
self
Columbus,
the
diversity
and
the
love
it
has.
If
we
just
focus
on
that,
may
God
bless
you
all.
May
you
enjoy
the
trail,
please
think
of
all
wins.
When
you
stop
and
take
a
break
and
say
hi
Owen,
your
dream
is
coming
true.
Thank
you
and
God
bless.
F
F
Today,
Mimi's
on
this
side
of
victory,
Drive
I'm
on
the
opposite
side
here,
so
we
share
the
project.
I
come
I
start
at
conceder
roads
there
at
the
American,
Legion
and
I.
Come
to
this
point.
Mimi
picks
it
up
from
here
and
takes
it
on
you
heard
the
city
manager
outlined
a
lot
of
the
projects
that
are
coming.
I
am
the
proud
recipient
of
a
lot
of
those
Fort.
F
Benning
is
here
today,
and
they
also
know
that
we're
working
on
the
building,
Technology
Park
that
will
come
in
their
185
and
coming
out
of
Sand
Hill
their
area
and
the
previous
general
spoke
before
he
left
standing
as
Columbus
does
what
they
need
to
do.
He
will
do
what
he
needs
to
do
to
try
to
direct
that
traffic
back.
This
way
so
appreciate
that,
but
only
this
feeling
mabel
did
feel
spend
a
lot
of
time
in
south.
F
Well,
I'm
just
trying
to
make
things
come
true
and
when
we
had
the
groundbreaking
for
this
project,
I
said
that
day
I've
spent
my
entire
life
trying
to
bring
people
together
and
that's
basically,
what
ditch
field
was
about
trying
to
bring
south
Columbus
and
the
people
cyclones
together
to
have
on
one
Accord
to
get
our
projects
done
so
that
day.
I
also
mentioned
that
the
some
look
at
me.
F
They
don't
believe,
but
at
this
point
in
my
life
I
am
a
proud
61
years
old
and
if
I'd
had
this
bridge,
when
I
was
12
years
old,
we
used
to
have
a
baseball
field
here,
I,
don't
know
behind
the
sunshine:
misty
come
to
Kellogg
Company.
We
had
two
fields
and
that's
where
we
play.
We
practice
down
the
street
at
Muscogee
elementary
old
Muscogee
elementary
school.
F
F
F
Appreciate
all
the
coming
together
and
understanding
what
we
wanted
to
do
to
get
it
done,
but
as
I
as
I
take
my
seat,
I
want
to
say,
as
you
look
around
a
lot
of
people
here
understands
I'm
Columbus
you're
here
today,
because
you
and
understand
what
we're
trying
to
do.
Those
of
us
that
have
lived
here
for
a
long
long
period
of
time.
I
want
to
take
just
a
moment
to
have
he's
known
as
the
flag
man
as
he
was
staying.
F
F
Hate
understand
just
to
say
it:
we've
talked
about
having
an
interest
in
your
community
and
he
was
bending
my
ear
before
we
started
about
where
there's
too
much
trash
grass
is
too
high
and
maybe
they're
a
couple
of
houses
that
need
to
be
demolished.
So
I
just
want
you
to
know.
We
have
those
in
our
midst
that
are
still
working
and
trying
to
get
things
done,
we'll
be
together
on
the
phone
tomorrow,
trying
to
make
sure
it
gets
done.
Thank
you
so
much
for
your
service.
F
So
as
we
move
forward,
I
will
spend
my
time
trying
to
be
working
with
me
me
and
the
rest
of
Council
and
all
that
want
to
be
a
part
of
this
to
make
sure
that
we
get
it
done,
because
my
understanding
has
really
risen
over
eight
years
now.
I
start
my
third
term
in
January,
and
it's
all
about
the
people
never
about
me.
F
B
B
There's
always
a
pleasure
to
see
you
mr.
mayor,
okay,
I
promised
we
have
everybody
out
here
about
three
o'clock
as
well,
but
thank
you
again
for
being
here.
Councillor
Woodson
also
want
you
to
know
that
another
big
project
going
on
down
here
called
Westville
that
we
don't
see.
Some
really
dramatic
things
happen
because
of
that
I
asked
for
this
point
of
personal
privilege.
Right
now
to
introduce
to
you
may
well
ditch
field
lot
of
things
have
been
said
by
oh
and
I
knew
him
as
either
the
the
mayor
of
South,
Columbus
or
mr.
B
sock
Columbus
for
the
most
part,
because
he
was
always
involved
in
something
going
on
and
Owen
was
a
trench
guy,
because
I
knew
something
was
going
on.
It
was
important
to
him.
It
was
important
to
our
community,
but
I
got
to
be
honest
with
you
Mabel.
Not.
We
me
ugly
about
that.
He
had
a
lot
of
names
and
I
called
him
a
lot
of
names
too,
but
he
would
call
me
sometimes
and
say
Rick.
We
need
to
be
doing
this
with
Ricky.
You
take
care
of
this.
I
I
wonder
what
thank
you
for
coming
and
if
you,
each
a
very
warm
welcome
I,
just
so
appreciate
your
coming
and
I
appreciate
every
one
of
you
and
thank
you
so
much
for
the
part,
each
one
of
you
and
play
that
leads
up
to
today.
I
just
thought:
I'd
tell
you
a
little
bit
more
about
Owen
when
he
graduated
from
high
school.
I
He
was
one
year
ahead
of
me,
and
so
when
I
came
in
as
a
freshman
I
went
to
Mass
it's
at
the
school
and
I
saw
this
redheaded
young
man
serving
at
Madison
I
thought
wow.
There
is
a
young
man
away
from
home
living
his
faith,
and
that
was
so
important
to
me
and
then
I
kind
of
started
noticing
him
around
campus.
He
would
attend
musical
events
and
I
loved
music.
I
Oh
we
have
that
Commission
and
I.
What
I
haven't
told
you
yet
is
bad
after
several
quarters,
as
in
the
forestry
program,
he
realized
that
his
weaknesses
were
in
math
and
the
sciences,
so
his
advisor
says.
Well,
you
know
you're
really
strong
in
the
language
arts.
So
why'd
you
look
at
our
School
of
Journalism.
We
have
a
great
School
of
Journalism
and
it
was
a
great
fit.
I
I
mean
he
was
good
at
communicating
on
already,
and
you
know,
he's
a
great
talker,
but
that
really
honed
his
skills,
both
in
the
speaking
and
the
writing,
and
it
served
him
so
well
and
he
often
thanked
you
know
God
for
leading
him
that
way
and
I'm
sure
many
of
you
got
many
letters,
letters
to
the
editor
and
all
of
these
different
things.
So
then,
after
he
graduated,
he
went
into
the
military
and
somewhere
in
there
we
got
married.
I
So
after
spending
the
summer
in
Idaho
on
a
fire
fighting
crew,
he
went
into
the
army
and
he
was
been
the
army
for
ten
years
and
two
of
those
tours
were
in
Vietnam.
Now
the
last
tour
he
had
seven
times
when
he
could
so
easily
have
been
killed.
One
time
he
was
riding
in
a
helicopter
and
the
pilot
got
a
little
off
course
we're
a
little
bit
low
because
it
was
foggy
and
somebody
sprayed
the
helicopter.
I
The
bullet
went
up
the
hill,
a
cop,
turns
its
head
and
the
doctor
told
them
if
it
had
been
an
agent
eight
inch
deeper.
He
would've
been
dead.
So
after
that
he
says,
God
stopped
him
with
me.
Yet
he
must
have
other
plans
for
me
and
he
did
so.
They
had
to
draw
down
after
the
Vietnam
War.
So
we
had
decisions
to
make
two
big
decisions:
where
were
we
going
to
live?
Were
we
going
to
go
back
to
Montana
run
front?
I
What
we're
going
to
stay
here,
but
we
decided
Columbus,
had
really
grown
on
us
in
Fort
Benning.
We
had
already
assimilated
into
Columbus,
but
the
thing
that
really
held
us
here
was
Our.
Lady
of
Lourdes
Catholic
Church,
we've
been
members.
There
were
50
years
when
we
first
stepped
into
that
church.
We
could
feel
God's
Spirit
and
we
could
see
it
in
the
joy
of
the
nuns
and
our
priests
who
were
there,
and
we
knew
that
that
was
our
church
home.
So
that's
what
made
our
decision
to
stay
here.
I
The
second
distinction
was:
what
should
he
do
with
his
life?
He
interviewed
several
jobs
here
in
Columbus,
but
they
didn't
feel
right.
So
he
decided
to
go
to
the
monastery
and
the
Holy
Spirit
in
Conyers
Georgia
on
a
weekend
retreat
and
kind
of
get
a
feel
for
maybe
where
God
is
leaving
him
and
when
he
was
there,
he
felt
a
leading
that
he
should
be
a
teacher,
a
school
teacher,
so
the
transition
went
very
well
I
mean
it
was
well
planned,
our
Heavenly
Father.
I
If
he
got
out
in
February
he
did
education
courses
and
then
he
went
right
into
teaching
and
Fort
Benning
the
following
fall,
so
it
was
just
so
so
so
smooth
and
wonderful
and
he
was
a
fantastic
teacher.
He
loved
kids.
He
was
a
big
kid
at
heart
himself
and
he
just
did
things
in
very
special
ways
that
made
education
fun,
and
so
he
was
a
teacher
in
36
years
and
of
course
we
were
so
involved
in
church
I
mean
we're
on
every
committee
we
could
be
on.
I
We
went
to
Marriage
Encounter
rent-a-car
CEO,
we
did
just
faith
and
it's
been
our
life,
so
you
saw
the
public
part
of
his
life,
but
I
don't
know
that
you
saw
the
spiritual
life,
but
our
faith
is
really
underpin
to
everything
that
we
have
done
and
the
person
that
he
was.
He
was
a
faithful
person.
In
fact,
on
his
grave.
We
put
thy
will
be
done
because
that's
always
been
our
mantra.
E
I
I
So
I
think
the
bridge
is
really
symbolic
to
me
because
he
was
a
bridge
builder
and
he
was
a
bicyclist.
He
would
ride
his
bike
to
work
every
day
for
many.
In
fact,
when
he
had
9/11
I
think
he
was
the
only
one
that
made
it
to
school
because
he
went
on
the
bike
trail,
but
more
than
that,
the
bridges
same
follow
me
trail
and
well.
That
is
the
military
slogan.
I.
I
B
B
B
Just
in
case
you
were
wondering
we
were
taking
bets
before
the
meeting
by
who
we're
gonna
fall
off
this
stage.
First
I
came
pretty
close
a
couple
times.
Please
did
you
see
if
we're
just
one
more
second
here,
okay,
I
have
to
also
offer
some
thanks
here
as
well,
when
I
heard
some.
Our
other
speakers
talk
about
it.
B
When
I
heard
some
other
speakers
talking
about
this
wall
go
I
was
reminded
about
fifteen
or
twenty
years
ago
the
chamber
put
together
a
thing
called
the
good
bad
and
the
ugly
tour,
and
the
idea
was
we
all
got
on
buses
and
we
wrote
all
over
town
to
show
everybody
things
we
took.
It
came
down
to
South
Columbus
and,
as
God
is
my
witness
folks
in
that
bus
kept
saying,
gosh
I
didn't
know
this
what's
going
on
down
here.
What's
all
this
I've
never
seen
this
daddy
and
I
thought
we're
in
the
world
view.
B
B
You
probably
thought
you'd
never
hear
me,
or
even
else
say,
but
I'm
going
to
encourage
you
right
now
to
go
to
the
top
of
this
bridge
beyond
the
bridge
before
you
leave,
because
there's
the
thing
you
don't
believe
when
I
say
it,
there
is
a
spectacular
view
of
victory
driving
off
that
bridge
and
you
need
to
see
it.
You
need
to
see
it
with
fresh
eyes
today
as
we
go
forward.
So
please
do
that
when
we
get
ready
to
leave
here
in
just
a
second
I
would
be
remiss
not
to
thank
my
staff.
B
B
Wood
Johnson
our
playing
Division
Chief
Mike,
mixing
our
planter
and
John
Renfro,
and
also
it's
a
principal
planner
and
then
Trey
Wilkerson
goes
by
the
mysterious
name
of
Rex.
It's
also
playing.
We
couldn't
have
done
it
without
them
here
today
and
I
do
hope.
He'll
get
me
around,
give
them
a
round
of
applause.
B
Councillor
hutchins
how
he
pointed
out
the
folks.
There
are
a
lot
of
moving
parts
to
a
project
like
this
I
just
get
to
Santa
Pierre
and
be
the
pretty
face
of
it,
but
I'm
just
telling
you
that
for
the
most
part
we
couldn't
do
it
without
southeast
and
contract.
We
couldn't
do
without
our
consultants,
Heath
and
Lineback.
We
certainly
couldn't
doubt
when
Leeteuk
or
Lee
Tucker
think
you're
the
manager
of
this
property
and
leave
with
very
gracious
and
letting
us
come
and
utilize
this
property
for
safety.
B
We
go
into
our
last
closing
bid
the
most
ironic
thing
about
this.
If
some
of
you
will
remember
back
in
2015
when
we
broke
ground
for
this
project,
Owen
was
one
of
our
principal
speakers
and
I
think
it's
only
fitting
those
we're
even
three
we
remind
ourself
of
heaviest
memory
and
the
efforts
he
made
in
here
and
I
can
think
of
no
no
fitting
monument
other
than
this
bridge
behind
me
to
his
legacy
and
to
his
memory.
So,
oh
and
thank
you
for
your
leadership.
