B
Meeting
of
the
Columbus
City
Council
tonight
is
a
proclamation
resolution
session.
This
is
when
we
gather
together
to
celebrate
you
all
and
all
the
great
work
you're
doing
for
our
city.
It
really
is
our
citizens,
our
civic
organizations,
all
of
our
volunteers
that
make
this
such
a
great
community.
So
tonight
is
your
night
and
thank
you
for
being
here.
We
want
to
go
ahead.
As
you
know,
every
time
we
gather
together,
we
have
to
start
with
a
little
bit
of
invocation.
It
does
the
soul
good,
and
so
we
have
a
reverend
dr.
C
C
We
praise
you
and
thank
you,
Father
God
for
our
city
with
a
pray
official
British
for
our
mayor,
Teresa
Thomason,
and
also
our
mayor,
Pro,
tems,
just
Turner,
Evan,
Turner
and
all
of
the
city,
council,
persons,
our
city
manager
and
city
attorney
and
and
all
the
persons
who
are
elected
and
employed
or
volunteer
to
make
our
city
a
wonderful
city
in
which
to
Leo,
reprieve
my
educational
department
about
about
city,
our
superintendent
and
our
principals
and
our
teachers
and
the
volunteer
persons,
our
employees,
who
make
our
school
system
a
wonderful
school
system.
C
We
thank
you
for
the
young
people
here
today
who
will
be
performing
today.
We
pray
and
thank
you
Father
God
for
our
entire
city,
even
those
who
have
seemed
to
lost
that
way,
have
to
be
incarcerated
or
punished,
just
as
the
taught
to
do
better.
We
thank
you
for
the
police
department,
the
mayor
I'm
at
the
the
Moscow
and
as
well
other
correction
agencies
to
help
us
to
on
our
way
we
will
pray
for
our
military
and
those
who
serve
in
the
various
branches
to
protect
our
city
in
our
country,
Noah
God.
C
We
pray
for
all
branches
of
government
from
the
National
own
down,
but
you
said
the
power
that
be
ordained
of
you
temple
to
be
the
best
people
we
could
be,
but
we
pray
also
for
our
face
based
community
and
that
we
was
kind
of
lead.
The
way
and
point
away
the
right
and
righteousness
was
thank
you,
Father
God,
for
blessing.
All
of
us
probably
realized
that
we
all
love
people
of
work
regardless
to
race,
creed,
color,
national
origin.
C
B
B
D
E
F
G
I'm,
dr.
Jacqueline
flakes
the
proud
principal
of
key
elementary
and
I
just
want
to
say
thank
the
parents
that
are
behind
me
for
bringing
their
students
and
I
want
to
say.
These
students
are
to
be
commended
because
we
had
an
after-school
program
for
tutoring
and
they
just
were
released
at
4:45
and
made
it
over
here
in
time
to
do
the
play.
Wow.
B
B
Thank
you,
so
you
all
as
everybody
here
in
city
count
in
the
student
council.
Are
you
all
on
student
council
fantastic?
Well,
that
means
that
someday
you'll
be
sitting
up
here.
Then,
probably
right,
okay!
Well,
look!
Look
we'll!
Keep
the
chairs
warm
for
you!
How
about
that
all
right,
Thank
You
y'all
come
back
and
help
us
again:
okay,
real
soon!
Thank
you.
Let's
give
them
another
round
of
applause.
B
All
right
well
we're
gonna
go
ahead
and
get
started
on
our
proclamation
agenda.
As
you
all
know,
once
a
quarter,
we
have
special
awards
for
our
employees,
those
that
really
distinguish
themselves
with
extraordinary
service
and
expertise
and
the
line
of
duty
here
in
Columbus
Georgia.
You
know
we
have
almost
3,000
employees,
and
that
includes
a
lot
of
part-time
seasonal
employees
as
well,
of
course,
but
of
the
2,500
or
so
that
are
full-time
employees.
B
We
got
folks
that
are
waking
up,
while
the
rest
of
us
are
enjoying
the
luxury
of
sleep
to
make
sure
this
city
is
ready
to
go
when
we
hit
the
roads
they're,
making
sure
that
we
don't
have
to
worry
about
things
that
they
worry
about
all
day
long,
and
so
this
is
our
opportunity
to
thank
them
for
their
consistent
and
exemplary
service,
and
it's
called
the
individual
excellence
award
and
also
the
peer
awards.
Our
mayor
pro-tem
traditionally
reads
these
awards,
so
we're
going
to
let
her
do
it.
B
H
And
we
as
friended
pool
and
employee
of
the
Public
Works
Department,
has
been
selected
as
recipient
for
the
fourth
quarter
of
2017
and
with
all
citizens
of
Columbus,
Georgia
and
employees
of
a
consolidated
government
are
urged
to
recognize
and
appreciate
the
contributions
made
to
the
public
good
by
this
outstanding
employee
and
therefore
Teresa
Pike,
timeless
and
miracle
Miss.
Georgia.
Here
are
four
claims
to
Sofia,
where
six
2018
as
Brandon
poof
day
in
Columbus
Georgia.
Let's
give
them
a
round.
I
I
One
thank
the
mayor
see
manager
all
the
staff
City
Council,
my
old
buddies
at
Public
Works,
which
we've
recently
beaten
to
divorce
from
and
all
their
support
staff
and
new
folks
that
we've
moved
in
with
the
inspections
coach
with
mr.
Hutchinson
and
group
I'd
like
to
also
recognize
the
special
enforcement
officers
that
work.
There
is
actually
the
ones
that
go
out
and
do
the
work
knock
on
the
doors
and
meet
with
all
these
folks
and
try
to
get
them.
What
it
is,
I
should
have
done
before
we
showed
up
at
their
door
any
rate.
B
J
K
B
Well,
I
won't
give
any
speeches,
but
I
appreciate
you.
You
know
it's
like
I
said
a
lot
of
people
work
when
when
you're
not
watching,
you
know-
and
it
seems
thankless
right,
a
lot
of
public
service
seems
thankless,
but
we
do
very
much
appreciate
what
you
do
and
and
and
what
those
in
your
department
and
division
do
as
well,
so
I
hope.
This
is
a
token
of
that.
You
appreciate
that
we
do
care
and
we
do
see.
B
Alright,
next
we're
gonna
call
forward
Charles
king
Kevin,
gilens
mark
Scruggs,
Rebecca,
Walker
and
Susan
Patrick.
If
you
all
would
all
come
up
please
and
stand
here
and
from
the
podium
we
have.
These
are
special
P
rewards
given
out
quarterly,
and
these
are
the
recipients
of
the
peer
wards
for
2000
and
is
this
for
2072
went
fourth
quarter.
Fourth
quarter
of
2017
and
we're
going
to
have
the
mayor,
pro-tem
Reacher
proclamation.
H
Whereas
once
again-
and
this
may
sound,
you
may
hear
some
of
the
same
things
I
said
about
in
the
other
proclamation,
but
it's
important
that
I
said
again
in
this.
These
proclamations
and
I'll
read
individual
populations
because
it
applies
to
all
of
you,
because
you
are
employees
of
the
Columbus
and
finally,
the
government
and
without
you
all
doing
their
jobs.
We
would
be
nothing
and
it's
important
that
we
recognize
the
various
achievement
of
these
employees,
including
a
peer
award
which
is
promoting
employ
excellence,
the
recognition
award.
H
It
recognizes
employees
to
make
constant
contributions
to
the
organization
through
outstanding
job
performance,
who
set
an
example
of
outstanding
quality
management,
teamwork
and
the
customer
service
and
who
significantly
enhanced
the
work
environment
by
contributing
to
the
personal
well-being
of
the
co-workers.
And/Or.
Their
families,
where's
Charles
king
of
the
Muscogee
County
Prison,
is.
H
Rebecca
Walker
or
the
Tax
commissioner's
office
and
Susan
Patrick,
let's
go
to
County
Sheriff
office
and
they
have
been
selected
as
recipients
for
the
fourth
quarter
of
2017
and
where's.
All
citizens
of
Columbus,
Georgia
and
employees
of
this
government
urge
to
recognize
and
appreciate
them
for
their
contribution
made
to
the
public
good
by
these
outstanding
employees.
Now
their

B
L
I
just
want
to
thank
the
mayor
and
city
council
and
city
manager
province
here
today
to
recognize
us.
We
appreciate
it.
I
also
want
to
thank
the
leadership
from
MCP
for
being
representing
us
and
warden
Hamrick
and
Lieutenant
be
strong.
My
current
supervisor
sergeant,
Johnson
I,
appreciate
it
and
all
the
current
and
former
employees
that
I
worked
under
that
trained
me
and
helped
me
get
me
in
this
position.
Thank
you
very
much.
Wonderful.
Thank
you.
B
B
J
J
F
N
B
Have
our
tax
commissioner
Lula
fear
in
the
house?
Yes,
Finn
I,
just.
J
O
B
B
F
B
P
Q
B
All
right,
well,
I
know
that
everyone's
noticed
the
sea
of
red
that
we
have
out
in
the
audience,
and
today
is
a
very
special
day.
We
want
to
call
the
deltas
forward
a
civic
sorority.
We
have
here
in
this
community
a
mighty
force
of
women
that
are
leading
this
community
to
great
great
things,
providing
scholarships
for
kids
involved
in
all
kinds
of
civic
work,
working
to
make
this
community
better.
So
we're
going
to
ask
all
them
to
come
forward.
B
B
We've
got
Gloria
Weston
smart
who's
with
us
now
under
Public
Works,
with
keep
Columbus
beautiful
course,
Pat
Hughley
green
who's
on
our
school
board.
Many
many
others,
but
those
are
the
ones
who
who
are
oh
and
we've
got
Lula
huff
our
tax
commissioner
she's
a
delta
too.
So,
as
you
can
see,
this
is
a
group
of
very
powerful,
influential
women.
They
are
a
mighty
force,
as
I
said,
and
we
put
who's
that
leave
somebody
out.
Okay,.
B
B
And
whereas
the
first
public
act
performed
by
the
Delta
founders
involved.
Their
participation
in
the
women's
suffrage
march
in
Washington,
DC,
March,
1913,
and
whereas
today
the
sorority
serves
the
general
welfare
of
all
through
its
five-point
programmatic
thrust
of
educational
development,
economic
development,
international
awareness
and
involvement
involvement,
physical
and
mental
health
and
political
awareness
and
involvement.
And
whereas
on

Sharing
the
same
purpose
and
vision
as
their

ago,
and

of

and
Delta

will

her

March

2018.
R
We
say
a
few
words
mayor,
Thomason
city
manager,
city,
council,
members
and
staff,
on
behalf
of
the
2273
members
of
Columbus

Sorority

We
are
grateful
for
these
words
of
proclamation
analogy
our
70th
chapter
anniversary.
Our
chapter
is
deeply
rooted
in
the
vision
of
those
12
college
women
who
saw
the
need
to
bring
deltas
rich
legacy
to
the
tri-city
city
area.
The
chapters
very
first

event
was
to
raise

for

which
we

Today,
with
our
annual

gala
held
in
December
last
year,
we
were
able
to
give
out
close
to
40
thousand
dollars
in
scholarships
to
graduating
seniors
and
college
students
here
locally
from
the
core
of
our

dedicated

We
continue
to
grow
and
uphold
the
ideals
and
the
principles
of
our
sorority.

O
And
whereas
these
awards
are
presented
annually
at
the

a

which
this
year
was
held
in
Columbus
Georgia,
whereas
out
of
the
entire

was
honored
with
several
awards,
including

Is
she
here
for
her
lasting

on
the

of
the

O
T
On
behalf
of
our
department
and
I,
thank
you
mayor
and
city
manager,
deputy
city
managers
and
councilmembers
here
tonight.
We
appreciate
being
acknowledged
for
our
award
I,
have
asked
some
of
the
staff
if
they
want
to
come
up
and
talk
and
I
think
they're
a
little
shy,
I,
don't
know
why
they
they
work
with
the
public
every
day,
but
they
get
in
here
they're
a
little
shy,
don't
want
to
speak
and
that's
okay.
T
They
do
a
great
job
every
day
in
our
community
and
that's
what
matters
most
to
us
and,
as
you
can
see,
that's
what
matters
to
the
state,
and
so,
as
I
mentioned
back
in
the
fall,
when
we
came
to
see
you
guys
that
we
would
be
back
again,
and
so
we
held
true
to
that
and
we're
very
grateful
to
be
recognized.
Obviously
it's
not
myself.
That
does
a
job.
T
It's
the
folks
right
here
behind
me
and
so
many
others
that
are
not
here
tonight
that
when
we
come
before
you,
we
talk
about
our
department,
the
Parks
and
Recreation
Department.
Here
in
the
City
of
Columbus,
it's
the
staff,
it's
the
people
behind
the
behind
the
behind
the
equipment
behind
the
machines
behind
the
everyday,
get
the
job
done.
U
Thank
you
so
much
for
honoring
us
tonight.
It's
a
great
partnership.
We
have
with
our
team
parts
and
recreation
of
visit,
Columbus
all
the
different
entities
in
Columbus
that
we
partner
with,
and
thank
you
so
much
for
this
recognition.
We
can't
thank
our
volunteers
enough.
We
have
one
in
the
audience
tonight.
Miss
Smith.
She
was
actually
one
of
my
teachers.
U
B
B
V
B
B
Again
guys
thank
you
for
making
us
look
good
every
single
day.
Thank
you
for
serving
our
citizens
and
we're
always
appreciative
of
the
wards
and
accolades
that
you
bring
to
our
city.
But
the
fact
the
matter
is
we're
most
appreciative
of
the
fact
that
you
show
up
every
day
to
serve
our
citizens
and
they're,
so
very
grateful
for
you.
So
you
all
come
around.
Let
us
shake
your
hand,
get
you
a
proclamation,
everybody,
let's
give
them
another.
B
Alright,
next,
we
want
a
call
forward:
Bobby
Starr,
Jerry,
Stewart,
Elizabeth,
theist
glass,
dr.
Brooks,
glass,
Pam,
boom,
Lisa
Clark,
a
whole
bunch
of
folks
come
on
up.
We
want
to
talk
about
human
trafficking
and
the
awareness
necessary
to
bring
this
issue
to
the
forefront
and
we're
going
to
have

Henderson
is
going
to
read
this
Proclamation
Thank.
X
AB
Mayor
Tomlinson
and
city
council,
we
want
to
thank
you
so
much
for
making
that
Proclamation
for
acknowledging
the
existence
of
modern-day
slavery
and
that
it's
here
in
our
own
backyard
and
it's
an
unfortunate
issue,
but
it's
only
grown
since
I
learned
about
it
in
2009,
and
this
team
is
dedicated
to
the
restoration
of
stolen
childhoods.
We
believe
that
every
child
is
priceless
and
that
our
children,
our
potential,
is
being
stolen
from
us
right
now
through
the
issue
of
domestic
minor
sex
trafficking.
AB
Micah's
promise
is
currently
in
a
capital
campaign
fund
to
build
a
therapeutic
treatment
facility.
Children
who
have
been
sexually
exploited
need
specific
care
for
their
complex
trauma
and
that's
our
next
step.
We
are
in
this
fight
we're
in
this
for
the
long
haul,
and
we
appreciate
all
of
your
help
and
your
support
and
your
partnership
in
that.
Thank
you.
B
B
O
AB
B
B
Okay,
let's
see
if
we
can
get
with
deputy
McClendon,
and
maybe
we
can
do
it
at
council
meeting
or
something
like
that-
we'll
work
it
out
with
his
schedule.
So
all
right,
Thank
You
councillor
Allen,
will
do
now.
We've
got
partners
in
education.
We
want
to
invite
all
our
partners
in
education
representatives
forward.
We've
got
the
chair
of
pi
board
of
directors,
sue
hall
and
the
vice
chair.
AF
And
whereas
the
public
and
private
partnerships
in
education
are
strengthening
our
schools
and
lives
of
our
youth
through
volunteer
hours
exceeding
thirty
four
thousand
two
hundred
twenty-five
hours
in
the
2016
and
17
school
year,
with
monetary
contributions
and
donations
of
goods
and
excess
of
five
hundred
and
seventy
nine
thousand
four
hundred
and
seventy
five
dollars.
And
whereas
the
very
highest
priority
to
the
many
individuals.
Organizations
involved
in
the
partners
in
education
program
is
the
education
and
ultimate
success
of
our
youth.
AG
Thank
You
counsel,
mayor
and
the
rest
of
council
and
city
manager
and
staff
I
am
just
really
very
pleased
to
be
here
tonight
to
celebrate
and
appreciate
all
of
our
community
businesses,
the
military
community
organizations,
individual
volunteers
who
support
and
really
improve
the
quality
experience
and
improve
student
achievement
in
our
community
schools.
The
schools
appreciate
the
the
resources
that
the
businesses
and
everyone
in
the
community
bring,
and
we
take
this
time
all
week
to
just
celebrate
the
successes
and
for
us
as
an
arm
of
the
chamber
of
commerce.
AG
AH
I'd
also
like
to
introduce
Angela,
Allison
and
Ricki
Lake's,
who
are
people
at
the
chamber
who
keep
it
all
going
and
board
members
Lindsay
Braxton

day.
Oh,
oh
gosh!
Thank
you.
So
much
anyway
appreciate
you
all
and
it's
fabulous
to
have.
The
intersection
of
business
and
education
come
together
and.

It's
my
honor
to
read
into
the
proclamation
of
the
record
14
day
and
violence.
Awareness
Month,
where,
as
teen
day
and
violence
involves
physical,
sexual,
verbal,
emotional
and
economical
abuse,
along
with
countless
other
forms
of
abusive
behavior,
including
harassment
and
cyberbullying
via
texting,
sexting,
emailing,
instant
messaging
or
posting
on
social
media
and
is
committed
by
a
person
in
teen
to
harm,
threaten
intimidate.
AJ
Thank
you.
My
name
is

and
I
won
the

advocates
at
Hope
harbor.
Our
mission
is
to
keep
women
safe
and
their
children.
We
are
a
43
bed
shelter
and
we
served
Muscogee
County
Marion,
County,
Chattahoochee,
County,
Talbert,
County
and
Harris
County,
and
our
mission
is
just
to
help
people
get
out
of
the
domestic
violence
situation
and
to
get
a
better
step
ahead
in
their
life.
So.
AJ
AA
Introduce
yourself,
my
name
is
tiara
Stanga
and
I'm.
The
education
coordinator
for
Hope
Harbor,
so
I
basically
go
out
into
the
communities
into
the
schools
and
work
with
the
teens
101
to
bring
awareness
to
this
epidemic
because
it's
greatly
increasing.
We
see
it
a
lot.
We
did
a
forum
last
week
with
the
Merritt
group
and
we
had
a
great
great
great
feedback.
It
was
teens
that
came
up
afterwards
and
said
they
were
involved
in
a
dating
relationship
that
they
weren't.
AA
Even
aware
of
so
we
say
it
day
in
and
day
out
and
it's
growing,
and
we
just
want
to
bring
awareness
and
see,
tell
how
part
in
this
situation
is
because
eighty
percent
of
individuals
who
lose
their
life
because
of
a
domestic
violence
relationship,
they
met
their
abuser
in
high
school.
So
we
definitely
have
to
start
at
a
young
age
and
keep
talking
about
this
and
keep
educating
our
youth
yeah.
AI
Good
afternoon,
good
evening,
okay,
whereas
the
agency
now
known
as
United

of
Chattahoochee

has
been
an
active
part
of
our
community
since
1950
when
it
began
as
a
grassroot
organization
funding
agencies
that
serve
individuals
and
families
and
whereas
in
the
past
it
was
often
difficult
and
confusing
for
citizens
to
identify
access
available
service.
Citizens
can
now
dial
2-1-1
to
speak
to
a
trained
call
specialist
text.

Whereas
2-1-1
now
serves
as
a
coordinator
entry
point
for
housing
services
to
those
experiencing
homelessness
in
our
community
and
whereas
2-1-1
provides
critical
information
to
citizens
throughout
the
year
and
in
time
of
community
emergencies
such
as
Hurricane
Alma
and
whereas
there
in
2000

almost
10,000

receive
nearly
21,000

hereby
proclaim:
Tuesday
February,
the

2018
as
United

of

2
1
1,
appreciation
day.
Q
Thank
you
very
much.
I'm
Scott,
the
president
of
the
United
Way
at
the
CB,
and
this
is
Candace
Poole
I
manager
of
g1.
One
really
should
take
a
lot
of
the
credit
for
all
this
great
girls
over
the
last
three
years
to
grow
from
nothing
to
10,000
calls
and
21,000
referrals
being
a
partner
with
Irma
relief
in
hurricane
relief
at
the
Civic
Center
and
Red
Cross,
and
the
city
and
disaster
relief.
It's
working.
Q
You
know,
I
appreciate
the
all
that
she
does
and
all
that
the
community
does
to
support
us
and
certainly
in
the
city
and
the
hope
Harbor
was
just
up
here.
The
most
recent
referral
that
Candice
took
personally
was
somebody
who
was
caught
in
domestic
violence
and
didn't
know
where
to
turn
but
knew
to
call
2-1-1
yeah
and
those
things
are
working
every
day
and
it's
crisis
like
that,
and
it's
also
something
that
called
to
say
working
and
get
my
free
taxes
done
and.
Q
Them
to
Goodwill
and
other
places,
so
that's
what
it's
doing
connecting
people
in
need
to
services
that
are
available.
We
have
over
1,800
programs
now
in
our
database
at
470
sites
throughout
the
Chattahoochee
Valley.
So
I
appreciate
all
your
support,
and
certainly
all
Candice
has
helped
to
lead
that
you,
like.
B
B
Just
maybe
three
weeks
ago,
I
was
out
in
the
community
in
an
event,
and
somebody
was
telling
me
about
their
life
and-
and
they
were
doing
wonderful
things
and
then
they
just
sort
of
almost
as
an
aside
talked
about
their
struggle
with
depression
and
how,
when
night,
they
were
having
suicidal
thoughts
and
called
2-1-1,
and
you
made
an
emergency
referral
to
them,
could
save
their
life.
You
know,
and
so
I
think
it's
so
important.
People
don't
realize.
B
B
They
know
that
if
you're
struggling
with
any
sort
of
mental
illness,
domestic
violence
or
just
feel
you
need
me,
you
know,
maybe
you
feel
that
you're
on
the
cusp
of
homelessness
and
and
are
really
worried
about
some
things
in
your
life
call
2-1-1
you'd,
be
surprised
the
resources
available
in
this
community.
So
thank
you
for
what
you
do
come
around
and
and
let
us
shake
your
hand,
let's
give
them
another
round
of
applause.
AD
O
AE
It's
that
time
of
year
again
I'm
back,
it's
always
a
pleasure
to
come
and
thank
you
guys
for
bringing
the
public's
attention
to
this
week.
Many
of
you
probably
have
heard
me
opine
on
talk
about,
speak
to
and
in
some
cases,
drone
on
and
on
and
on
about
all
of
the
various
threats
and
hazards
that
we
face
as
a
city.
AE
Everything
from
major
fires
to
chemical
and
hazardous
material
releases,
transportation,
accidents
and
the
list
goes
on
and
on,
but
probably-
and
we
know
that
the
most
likely
and
the
most
probable
event
that
will
face
will
be
a
severe
weather
event.
Either
tornado
flooding,
ice,
storm
and
and
I
think
my
feet
are
still
wet
from
the
the
last
one.
So
in
probably
yours
too
and
I
say
that,
because
it's
so
heartening
and
so
uplifting
as
first
responders
that,
even
though
we've
done
everything
we
can
do
to
get
ready,
we
can't
stop
severe
weather.
AE
We
know
that
so
we
have
to
respond
and
then
everybody
from
the
second
day
rookie
all
the
way
up
to
the
seasoned
veteran
go
out
and
do
what
they
do
do,
what
they
do
best
and
they
work
as
a
team
and
that's
through
your
encouragement
and
your
guidance
and
leadership
that
helps
us
pull
that
team
together
and
even
maybe
more
so
and
many
times
it
has
happened
to
me.
I've
either
look
to
my
right
or
left
and
I've
seen
a
city,
counselor
or
I've.
AE
Seen
the
mayor
or
I've
seen
another
elected
leader
or
appointed
official,
and
the
first
thing
they
say
is:
what
can
we
do
to
help?
What
do
you
need-
and
that
means
everything
in
the
world
us
when
we're
trying
to
get
to
that
point
of
recovering
and
bringing
the
citizens
back
to
a
normal
level
of
living?
AE
O
AE
Oh
I'm,
sorry
now,
oh
I
was
just
gonna
say
the
tornado
drill
plan
for
tomorrow
has
been
postponed
due
to
potential
severe
weather,
and
that
happens,
but
we
do
have
a
second
day
planned
this
Friday
that
we
hope
if
the
weather's
nice
we'll
go
ahead
and
sound
the
outdoor
warning
sirens
we'll
give
all
of
our
city
departments
and
personnel
all
of
our
schools
all
of
our
partners
a
chance
to
work
through
their
tornado
drill
or
their
sheltering
plans.
So
we
won't
do
it
tomorrow,
but
we'll
do
it
Friday.
AE
So
thank
you
all
again
and
and
Kathy
key
is,
is
instrumental
in
the
operation
of
our
office.
She
is
our
planner.
She
helps
us
get
out
information.
She
helps
us
organize
events,
training
events
and
participates
and
and
when
the
weather
gets
bad,
you
know
we
all
put
on
her
or
get
get
dirty
clothes
and
go
out
and
see
what
we
can
do
so
Thank
You
Kathy.
Thank
you
for.

mayor
of

does
hereby
proclaim:
Friday
February
16
2018
as
Columbus
Arbor
Day
right.
AK
Mayor
mayor,
pro-tem
councillors,
city
manager,
we
certainly
do
appreciate
you
all
presenting
this
proclamation
to
us.
This
is
a
mark
for
us,
40
years
and
being
the
first
city
in
the
state
of
Georgia
to
earn
the
recognition
as
a
Tree
City
USA,
it's
so
important
for
us
to
keep
that
the
stewardship
that
we
have
and
pass
it
on.
So
we
certainly
do
appreciate
you
all
giving
us
this
opportunity.
AK
AL
So
we'd
love
for
y'all
to
come
out
Friday
morning
before
the
State
of
the
City
address
and
and
listen
to
to
Kathleen
and
that
discussion
with
business
leaders
and
take
a
little
walk
in
the
trees
before
you
head
over
to
the
State
of
the

So
we're
just
excited
to
be
part
of
this
new
kind
of
celebration
of

and
I
hope
you
can
join
us
I.
P
N
Z
B
You
so
much
for
your
service.
We've
come
so
far
and
I
just
want
to
just
say:
you
know
you
all
really
were
trees,
Inc
and
so
many
folks
that
when
we
created
the
tree
board,
which
is
before
my
time
but
as
certainly
as
a
citizen
was
interested
in
and
think
of
how
far
we've
come
and
how
important
we
realize
our
environment
is
in
our
economic
development
and
our
quality
of
life.
B
Q
B
And
it's
the
stunning
shock
of
you
know
more
than
one
person
saying
that,
but
now
how
far
we've
evolved
and
it's
it's
a
part
of
the
beauty
of
our
community.
So
thank
you
for
being
out
there
in
the
forefront
and
what's
now
seems
so
incredibly
obvious.
But
frankly,
that's
what
progress
is.
There's
folks,
saying
hey.
This
is
the
way
and
everybody
looks
at
you
like
you're,
a
Martian
and
then
ten
years
later
they
forget.
B
B
We
have
a
special
resolution
we
would
like
to
present
at
this
time
it's
commending
and
congratulating
the
domestic
violence
Roundtable
Inc,
and
so
we
want
to
invite
all
of
those
that
support
the
domestic
violence
roundtable
to
come
forward
and
councillor.
Walker
Garrett
is
going
to
read
a
special
resolution
commending
the
taskforce

Thank.

Where
is
the

resolves.
We
hereby
commend
and
congratulate
the
domestic
violence
ranked
round
table
upon
being
named
the
2017
domestic
violence
task
force
of
the
year,
but
the
Georgia
Commission
on
family
violence.

I'm
Laura
I'm,
the
current
chairman
of
the
domestic
violence,
roundtable
and
y'all,
probably
heard
me
up
here
before
as
a
survivor
from
domestic
violence.
I
can't
reiterate
how
important
this
is
that
we
have
an
organization
like
this
and
that
our
city
supports
us.
It
means
more
than
so
many
people
will
ever
know
so.
I
really
appreciate
it,
and
with
that
I'm
gonna,
let
anybody
wants
to
speak.

Mayor

Council
I
am
Marvin,
Broadwater,
senior
and
I
just
want
to
say.
Thank
you
all.
11
years
ago,
I
joined
this
organization
to
bring
to
try
to
bring
more
men
into
this
organization
and
I
think
that
the
men
on
this
council
I
would
ask.
When
we
have
that
walk
you
are
there.
It
makes
a
difference.
We've
got
to
educate
our
young
men
in
this
city
on
this
endeavor.
Thank
you.
So
much.
V
I'm
Shelley
hall
I'm,
director
of
Victim
Services
for
the
District
Attorney's
Office
and
for
DVR
I'm,
the
co-chair
for
the
fatality
reviews.
We
review
a
domestic
violence
fatality
and
what
that
does
is
it
brings
the
a
group
of
individuals
together
who
kind
of
pick
apart
one
one
specific
fatality
and
see
how
we
could
have
intervened
a
little
earlier
and
then
we
release
those
findings
to
the
public
in
the
spring,
and
it's
publicized,
so
that'll
be
occurring
in
April
and
everyone
will
be
invited.
So
please
come.
K
Good
evening,
I'm
going
to
thank
you
again
for
allowing
us
to
come
here,
you're,
always
so
generous
with
your
time
and
allowing
us
to
be
here.
My
name
is
Sally
Hoskins
and
I've
been,
and
had
the
pleasure
of
being
involved
with
this
organization
from
its
beginning
and
I
just
wanted
to
commend
Shelley
Hall
with
the
victim/witness
office,
because
I
think,
because
of
her
work
and
the
work
of
the
team.
K
The
fatality
review
action
team
that
was
formed
by
the
domestic
violence
roundtable
is
very
the
reason
why
we
were
able
to
win
this
award
for
the
task
force
of
the
year
and
so
I
think
we
need
to
really
commend
Shelley
and
her
office
and
the
District
Attorney's
Office.
That
have
been
very
supportive
at
this
event,
because
without
the
district
attorney's
support,
this
would
not
have
happened.
K
As
far
as
the
fatality
review
and
as
Shelley
said,
this
is
something
now
that
we're
doing
every
year
here
in
Muskogee
County,
and
we
will
be
doing
the
review
at
the
April's
lunch-and-learn.
We
will
be
submitting
the
results.
So
if
you
can
attend
that
will
be
on
noon
at
the
Columbus
public
library.
Will
we
be
sharing
the
results
and
what
its
suicide
in
or
is
it
stalking
stalking?
This
year's
is
stalking
and
domestic
violence,
so
I
think
it
would
be
very
interesting
for
me,
of
course,.

Yes,
I,
don't
know,
I
could
forget
that,
but
just
but
nobody's
turned
away,
and
so
we
provide
services.
Like
counseling

group.
We

to
hospital

in
the

among
a
bunch
of
other
things
that
will
take
forever
to
list.

I'm,
dr.

I'm,
a
psychologist
and
I'd
like
to
think
everybody
on
the
council
what
this
problem
with
the
domestic
violence
you
have
to
have
a
community
support
and
a
community
response
as
a
guy
with
a
lot
of
gray
hair
and
have
seen
the
change
since
the
early
70s
to
what
we're
doing
now,
we
are
light
years
ahead
of
what
used
to
happen,
know
what
has
happened.
We
still
have
a
long
ways
to
go.
I
think
everybody.
AO
Good
evening,
everyone,
my
name,
is
Lauren
chambers
and
I
work
with
a
mere
group.
We
are
one
of
the
four
care
management
health
care
plans
for
those
that
have
Medicaid
and
we
have
an
opportunity
to
work
with
33
counties
in
the
state
of
Georgia
and
work
on
community
outreach
and
events
to
touch
on
healthcare,
teen
dating
violence.
AO
Health
needs
such
as
a
world
Down
syndrome
day,
just
to
name
a
few,
and
so
we
work
throughout
the
entire
state
of
Georgia
to
be
involved
with
the
community
and
support
different
avenues
to
educate
the
community,
and
so
we've
had
the
opportunity
to
work
with
DVR
and
Hope
harbor
now
for
five
years
with
this
topic,
making
sure
that
it's
a
conversation
that
we're
having
in
our
community,
it's
not
something
we
want
to
talk
about,
but
something
that
we're
becoming
more
comfortable
to
discuss
to
see.
How
can
we
educate
the
community?
AO
So
thank
you
again,
DVR
for
letting
our
group
partner
and
thank
you
also
to
all
of
you,
as
the
elected
officials,
for
being
our
champions
in
a
sense
of
this
topic
for
the
community.
Thank
you,
yeah.

else,
I'm,
sorry
