A
Welcome
to
Columbus
connection
I
am
your
host
Britt
and
we
are
in
the
holiday
season,
traffic
and
school
being
out
and
people
stressing
out.
But
you
know
what,
if
you're,
stressing
out
about
the
holiday
season,
you're
doing
it
the
wrong
way.
It's
about
family,
it's
about
giving
back
and
a
lot
of
great
organizations
and
great
people
in
our
community
are
doing
just
that.
So
we're
going
to
talk
to
a
couple
of
groups,
a
couple
of
organizations,
a
couple
of
dynamic
people
who
are
doing
some
great
things
and
we're
going
to
start
off
with
the
n-double-a-cp.
A
Now,
of
course,
the
n-double-a-cp,
as
we
all
know,
stands
for
the
National
Association
for
the
Advancement
of
Colored
People,
but
the
n-double
a-c-p
is
not
just
for
african-americans.
They
do
great
things
for
the
entire
community
and
we're
going
to
talk
about
just
that
now.
Welcome
to
the
show.
Thank
you
very
much
give
it
give
everybody
your
name
because
you've
been
here
before
so
tell
everybody
who
you
are
and
what
you
do
within
the
place.
Yes,.
B
B
C
B
Try
to
give
back
and
basically
a
lot
of
people,
don't
really
understand
anybody
within
itself.
This
structure
is
broken
down
at
several
different
committees,
which
do
same
things.
For
example,
I
was
here
if
I
think
we're
our
office
timeframe,
holding
a
Veterans
Affairs
working
for
veteran
there
you
go
with
your
accent,
falls
under
in
double-a-c-p
yeah.
A
B
Have
various
organizational
communities
they're
actually
following
in
the
BCP
and
one
of
those
other
ones,
it
happens
to
be
our
freedom,
fine,
the
freedom
fun.
Yes,
sir
freedom,
fine
and
with
that
being
said,
we
are
hosting
our
45th
freedom
fund
and
Eubank
with
the
3rd
of
January
2020
and
it's
gonna
be
held
downtown
beautiful
Columbus
at
the
Columbus
Convention
and
Trade
Center.
Well,
I
guess,
speaker
is
gonna,
be
mr.
Joe
mattis
and
also
known
as
the
Black
Eagle.
Mr.
Madison
happens
to
be
national
talk,
show
host
and
he
can
be
heard
on
urban
view.
B
B
The
freedom
fund
for
one
it
allows
us
to
create
some
revenue
to
help
the
branch
which
is
operating
costs
throughout
the
year,
because
the
organization
has
been
nonprofit
organization.
So
we
only
actually
have
funds
that
come
in.
So
we
have
to
do
some
type
of
fundraising
to
actually
create
revenue
that
can
actually
allow
us
to
do
the
operation
to
work
out.
The
branch
looking
yourself
that.
A
B
One
this
gives
us
a
nice
air
stuff
in
double-a.
Cp
gives
us
an
opportunity
to
actually
acknowledge
and
show
appreciation
of
corporate
sponsors
that
sponsors
throughout
the
year
as
well.
Okay
and
also
there'll,
be
some
awards
giving
recognition
recognizing
certain
individuals
that
actually
have
contribute
to
the
organization
throughout
the
year
as
well.
How.
B
Yes,
sir
okay,
well
for
tickets
or
for
membership
or
everything
Oh,
perfect,
fit
well.
First
of
all
for
tickets
tickets
can
be
purchased
at
carrier.
Eko
Latino
newspaper,
which
is
on
1300,
win,
Road
Suite,
104,
Columbus
Georgia,
three
one,
nine,
oh
six
and
the
integers
can
actually
call
make
sure
someone's
in
the
office
actually
purchase
tickets,
seven,
zero,
six,
three
five,
eight
nine
OH
all
right
now,
if
individually
owned
a
but
it
reads
someone
at
carrier,
Eko
Latino,
then
they
can
actually
call
it
a
branch
office.
B
D
B
A
D
A
A
We
are
very
for
the
entropic
community
and
it's
great
when
we
have
things
we
can
have
fun
doing,
but
still
for
a
great
cause
and
I
have
a
great
cause
that
you're
gonna
have
for
January
those
we
want,
there's
going
to
be
a
great
cars
going
on
December
21st
there,
big
dog,
with
any
company's
jingle
run
and
I
have
with
me
dr.
Brett,
Murphy
Dawson
with
marques
promised
to
talk
about
what
that's
going
to
be
for
welcome
to
the
show.
Thank
you
very
much
so
tell
me.
Tell
us
you're
a
board
member
with
Michaels
promise.
E
Right
Michael's
promise
is
a
nonprofit
organization
here
in
Columbus
Georgia,
we
started
back
in
2014
and
we
do
education
prevention,
awareness
about
sex
trafficking
of
children,
we're
also
a
process
of
building
a
therapeutic
treatment
facility
for
girls
been
trafficked.
Although
state
of
Georgia
well
would.
E
A
E
Almost
every
county
in
the
state
of
Georgia
is
affected
by
sex
trafficking,
so
people
think
of
the
bigger
cities,
but
actually
they're
recruited
through
grooming
and
luring
and
social
media
and
various
ways
from
all
over
and
they
may
be
taking
some
of
the
bigger
cities
of
an
Allen
truck.
Stop.
So
so.
A
A
E
E
Saw
for
post-traumatic
stress
disorder
to
the
same
global
extent
of
our
veterans,
coming
back
from
being
in
war,
depression
anxiety,
they
tend
to
either
use
drugs,
drugs,
alcohol
to
kind
of
numb
them
from
what
they've
been
going
through
or
they
may
get
to
it
from
the
traffickers.
You
have
to
kind
of
help
them
easier
to
do
what
they
ask
them
to
do
and
force
them
to
do
so,
the
latter
that
they
go
through
that
people
may
not
think
or
understand.
But
it's
it's
difficult.
So.
E
So,
every
year,
for
several
years,
big
dog
Fleet
Feet
has
sponsor
a
5k
and
they
spot.
They
pick
an
organization
for
some
proceeds
to
go
to
and
for
the
last
two
years,
Micah's
promise
has
been
that
organization.
So
all
the
sponsorships
go
to
Micah's
promise
and
five
dollars
off
each
ticket
as
well.
Twenty
first
starts
at
9:00
a.m.
and
it'll
be
done,
downtown,
I
think
near
Broadway.
You
can
go
to
the
Micah's
promise
website
or
a
big
dog
jingle
big
dog
Fleet
Feet
website.
For
what
more
it's
a
basement
registration
and
how
to
sign
up.
A
E
Yes,
you
make
donations
directly
on
Marcus
promise.
It's
wwg
Micah's
promise
org
for
donations.
We
also
another
event
coming
up
in
January
I'm
generally
28,
it's
gonna
be
a
luncheon
about
Craig
and
Fred.
Craig
is
a
former
Marine
who,
while
he
was
in
Afghanistan,
met
a
dog
and
it's
about
how
they
both
say
to
each
other
from
PTSD
and
about
hope
and
survival.
So
that's
not
a
big
event
coming
up,
January
28th.
So
more
information
is
that
on
the
website
about
that
as
well
and
we'll.
A
A
C
This
ever
happened
to
you
and
you
didn't
know
who
to
call
it's
simple
doubt:
three,
one,
one:
seven:
zero,
six,
six,
five,
three:
four
thousand
columbus,
three
one:
one
citizens
service
center.
Our
goal
is
to
provide
complete,
accurate
and
timely
information
to
citizens
and
employees
regarding
complaints,
inquiries
and
requests
for
information,
columbus.
Three
one:
one:
citizens
service
center,
your
direct
link.
A
Welcome
back
to
Columbus
connections,
we
are
talking
about
awesome
events
in
our
community
and
awesome
organizations
that
are
actually
helping
and
giving
back
during
the
holiday
season.
Now
our
final
guest
is
Miss
Pam
Watson.
She
is
the
president,
the
Columbus
chapter
of
jack-and-jill
of
America
incorporated.
How
are
you
doing.
A
F
So
Jack
and
Jill
is
a
mother's
organization
and
Marian
Stubbs
Thomas
found
that
Jack
and
Jill
of
America
incorporated
in
1938
in
Philadelphia
Pennsylvania
20
mothers
got
together
because
they
wanted
to
create
an
organization
that
will
provide
cultural,
social
and
educational
opportunities
for
african-american
youth
between
the
ages
of
2
and
19.
So
today
we
have
over
245
chapters
nationwide
and
we
boast
over
40,000
family
members.
So
indeed
this
is
an
organization
that
is
making
impact
in
the
communities.
F
F
Community
outreach,
it
is
again
I
just
want
to
place
emphasis
on.
It
is
a
children's
organization,
a
mother's
organization.
You
have
to
have
children,
and
so
we
are
in
the
community
and
we
teach
our
children
how
to
be
leaders
and
how
to
be
selfless
and
how
to
give
back
and
how
to
have
a
kind
heart
when
it
comes
to
giving
so
our
kids
we
get
out
and
we
do
get
out
the
vote
campaigns
we
go
out
and
we
feed
the
community
feeding
the
valley.
F
We
donate
over
to
date
over
$50,000
that,
where
we
put
back
in
the
community
from
our
giving
so
we
are
about
developing
leaders
but,
most
importantly,
we're
about
all
children,
because
we
understand
and
believe
that
all
children
are
important
and
they
deserve
the
same
opportunities
that
our
children
have.
You.
A
F
Absolutely
what
you
saw
is
when
we
all
vote
campaign
that
I've
seen
your
teens
did
and
they
did
their
research
because
they
understand
that
there
is
a
demographic
that
does
not
typically
vote.
So
they
wanted
to
use
their
voices
because
they
were
actually
turning
18
or
being
able
to
vote
in
that
last
campaign,
and
so
they
got
out
and
they
wanted
to
motivate,
encourage
and
galvanize
young
voters
to
get
out
there
and
to
be
cognizant
of
the
issues
that
are
concerning
them,
whether
it
be
gun
violence,
the
high
cost
of
college
education,
opioid
crisis.
F
F
So
the
battalion
ball
is
coming
up
on
December
the
21st,
and
it
is
our
largest
fundraiser
for
the
program
year,
and
this
year's
theme
is
men
on
a
mission,
extraordinarily
empowered
leaders,
and
we
will
be
promoting
and
presenting
20
young
african-american
males
to
the
community
as
they
are
be
becoming
young
men.
This
is
a
fundraiser,
a
ball
that
is
going
to
be
nothing
less
than
spectacular
and
we
want
everyone
in
the
community
to
come
out.
F
These
young
men
have
gone
through
almost
a
year-long
mentoring
process,
workshops
that
have
consisted
of
financial
literacy,
career
and
college
planning
etiquette,
you
name
it.
They
have
gone
through
it
and
it
is
a
cohort.
It
is
a
bonding
experience
that
they
have
been
receiving,
and
so
they
have
gone
through
it,
and
these
are
the
21st
is
when
they
show
the
community
what
they
have
done
and
it
is
going
to
be
a
spectacular,
a
magical
event
and.
