Hello

welcome

the
dogs-
I'm
ria,
bentley
the
county

here
with

of
georgia

today.
We

about
the
services

the
university
of
georgia

So
sit
back,
relax
and
we'll
be
right
back.
A
Hello
and
welcome
back
to
learning
with
the
dogs
today
we're
going
to
tell
you
a
little
bit
about
the
university
of
georgia
extension.
Our
motto
is:
we
translate
the
signs
of
everyday
living
for
families,
farmers
and
communities
to
foster
a
healthy
and
prosperous
georgia.
So
that's
what
we
do
here.
We
have
array
of
services
we
offer
today,
I'm
going
to
tell
you
a
little
bit
about
femme
consumer
sciences.
A
For
example,
if
you
had
nutrition
questions
or
questions
on
child
and
family
development,
financial
management
or
food
home
preservation,
you
can
reach
out
to
us.
We
also
have
our
expanded
food
and
nutrition
education
program,
which
teaches
you
how
to
eat
healthy
on
a
limited
budget.
So,
if
you're
interested
in
these
services,
please
feel
free
to
call
our
office
and
ask
for
the
family,
consumer
sciences,
agent
or
the
ethnic
agent.
Thank
you.
B
B
C
And
welcome
back
with
learning
with
the
dogs,
I
am
tracy
saxton
family,
consumer
science
educator.
Today,
I
would
like
to
share
some
great
benefits
and
resources
that
the
family
consumer
science
department
at
columbus,
muskogee
county
extension,
can
offer
we
like
to
raise
awareness
about
the
value
of
the
family,
consumer
science.
That
involves
four
components.
That's
research,
response
results
and
relevance.
C
C
C
C
C
D
Hi,
I'm
charnae
ware
executive
director
here
at
keep
columbus
beautiful
columbus
we've
got
a
problem
with
litter,
illegal
dumping
and
litter
causes
an
increase
in
blight
and
a
decrease
in
property
values.
Litter
can
be
an
eyesore
and
aid
in
crime
and
not
to
mention
it's
illegal.
Why
should
you
care
about
litter?
Let's
count
the
ways
more
than
10
million
dollars
in
labor
are
spent
picking
up
trash
citizens,
throw
on
the
grounds
of
our
beautiful
state
of
georgia.
D
Studies
show
that
80
of
that
trash
is
generated
on
lands
and
ends
up
in
our
waterways,
which
threatens
our
marine
life.
So
please
do
the
right
thing:
columbus
do
not
litter
or
you
will
pay
the
price
how
you
can
help
you
can
report
any
offense
of
littering
to
311
by
providing
their
tag
number
a
vehicle
description
and
the
location
where
you
saw
the
litter
take
place
so
columbus.
E
E
Now,
in
addition
to
being
the
agriculture
and
natural
resources
agent,
I
also
coordinate
the
master
gardener
extension
volunteers
here
in
muskogee
county
as
well
as
volunteers
with
us.
The
muskogee
county
master
gardeners
actually
assist
our
office
in
providing
horticultural
related
information
to
the
community
through
community
service
projects
and
educational
gardening
projects
as
well,
and
so,
if
you'd,
like
more
information
about
the
services
that
I
or
my
office
can
provide
or
on
the
georgia
master
gardener
extension
volunteer
program,
please
make
sure
to
reach
out
to
our
office.
B
B
F
So
did
you
know
that
babies
and
young
children
thrive
when
they
are
properly
cared
for
and
nurtured
by
an
adult,
I'm
here
to
share
with
you
today
our
parenting
support
programs,
so
our
parenting
support
programs,
healthy
families
and
parents,
as
teachers
offer
a
variety
of
family,
focused
services
to
pregnant
mothers
and
to
families
with
infants
and
young
children.
These
services
include
first
steps
and
home
visiting
and
our.
G
G
First,
steps
is
open
to
all
georgia
families
who
have
to
who
are
either
expecting
or
have
children
zero
to
age
five,
and
so,
when
they
join
our
first
steps
program,
they'll
receive
a
first
steps
package
times,
they'll
receive
it
face
to
face
when
possible
or
through
the
mail
as
needed.
In
that
package,
they
may
they'll
receive
this
columbus
resource
guide,
which
we've
kind
of
narrowed
it
down
to
make
it
mailable,
but
also
to
have
the
pertinent
things
that
families
may
need.
G
So
maybe
they
need
information
on
health
care
or
information
on
p
pediatricians
in
the
area
or
information
on
mental
health
information
on
safety
for
their
child,
how
to
get
a
car
seat?
What
programs
are
often
offered
by
the
department
of
public
health?
So
those
kinds
of
things
are
in
that
resource
guide
and
so
that'll
allow
them
a
quick
reference.
They'll
also
receive
this
new
parent
magazine
that
is,
was
created
through
the
university
of
exten
university
of
georgia
extension,
but
also
for
new
parents.
G
Those
that
may
have
questions
about
having
that
newborn
at
home,
and
so
it
does
give
a
lot
of
information
on
safety
on
how
to
find
child
care,
how
to
to
adjust
your
budget
now
that
the
baby
is
here
and
family
relationships,
so
really
looking
at
the
relationships
in
the
family,
siblings.
Things
like
that
also
they'll
receive
information
about
our
other
programs
and
how
to
contact
us.
So
first
steps
is
really
a
way
to
get
families
into
the
services
that
uga
offers.
F
So
uga
home
visiting
services
programs
include
healthy
families,
columbus
and
parents
as
teachers,
so
healthy
families
is
designed
to
provide
child
development,
information,
parenting
skills
and
family
enhancement
consistently
with
you
and
your
family
during
pregnancy
and
after
the
baby
is
born.
We
focus
on
the
power
of
parenting,
strengthening
to
the
lives
of
children
and
young
young
infants.
F
Healthy
families
can
help
you
learn
to
create
a
warm
relationship
with
your
baby
and
a
safe,
stimulating
environment.
For
your
baby,
you
ask
the
family,
can
ask
questions
and
gain
the
latest.
Research
updates
learn
new
ways
to
have
a
healthy
pregnancy
and
a
happy
baby.
You
will
gain
confidence
in
being
your
baby's
most
important
teacher.
F
G
And
our
parents,
this
teacher's
program,
is
also
a
home
visiting
program.
The
vision
of
parents
as
teachers
is
that
all
children
will
develop
grow
and
have
the
opportunity
to
reach
their
full
potential.
So
we
do
provide
home
visits
personal
business
in
the
home
when
we
can
when
possible.
But
then
we
also
provide
visits
virtually
as
new
technology
has
allowed
us
to
do
that.
G
G
We're
going
to
help
facilitate
some
parent
child
interaction
with
different
materials
that
the
family
has
around
the
home
to
show
them
that
you
don't
have
to
have
anything
expensive
to
teach
your
child
and
so
to
to
do
that
to
to
look
at
how
that
interaction
unfolds
we're
also
going
to
reflect
with
families
on
on
their
family
well-being.
What
are
some
things
that
they
need
to
create
a
strong
and
healthy
family
in
their
environment?
G
We
provide
support
education
linkages
to
community
services.
We
provide
group
connections
monthly
that
allow
for
peer-to-peer
learning
with
the
children
learning
from
each
other,
with
the
parents
learning
from
each
other.
So
we
do
that
as
well.
We
promote
positive
parent-child
interactions,
so
we
really
want
there
to
be
reading.
We
want
there
to
be
play.
We
want
them
to
be
reading
and
songs
and
laughter
and
things
like
that.
G
We
want
to
help
families
develop
positive
parenting
skills
and
then
we
also
want
to
enhance
literacy,
because
we
want
to
support
school
readiness
when
that
child
gets
ready
for
school.
So
a
lot
of
these
things
you
see
in
front
of
us
are
activities
that
we
would
do
in
the
home.
That
would
allow
them
to
create
a
basis
for
school
readiness
as
children
grow.
