C
Good
morning,
everyone
thanks
for
being
here.
My
name
is
ricardo
romero
morales.
I'm
a
lead
public
information
officer
with
the
county
of
santa
clara
today
we'll
be
making
an
announcement
regarding
antigen
test,
and
our
speakers
for
today
are
megan
doyle,
deputy
county
executive
of
county
of
santa
clara,
dr
jennifer
tong,
associate
chief
medical
officer
for
the
santa
clara
santa
clara
valley,
medical
center
and
supervisor
cindy
chavis
from
the
santa
clara
county
board
supervisors.
C
D
Good
morning,
everyone,
my
name,
is
megan
doyle,
and
I
am
a
deputy
county
executive
here
at
the
county
of
santa
clara.
I
was
privileged
enough
to
oversee
the
team
of
county
departments
that
was
able
to
acquire
and
plans
to
distribute
antigen
tests
directly
to
the
public
and
with
our
community
clinics
and
our
community
partners.
I
am
very
very
excited
to
announce
today
that
starting
tomorrow,
60
000
at-home
antigen
tests
will
be
available
for
direct
distribution
through
four
drive
up
sites.
D
This
is
an
incredible
lift
that
is
once
again
proving
that
the
county
of
santa
clara
is
committed
to
stepping
up
in
incredible
incredibly
challenging
times
and
in
this
case
really
trying
to
get
a
scarce
resource,
which
is
the
at-home
antigen
test
kits.
These
were
purchased
by
the
county
through
ihealth
and
they
through
the
leadership
of
our
board
of
supervisors
and
our
county
executive
leadership.
Team
who
saw
this
need
with
the
coronavirus,
still
very
high
in
our
community
and
recognizing
how
difficult
at-home
tests
are
to
procure.
D
E
While
we
are
starting
to
see
a
decrease
in
the
omicron
surge,
it
is
important
to
know
that
our
prevalence
of
circulating
covet
virus
in
the
community
is
still
very
very
high.
At
home.
Testing
is
another
tool
in
our
toolbox
to
help
us
fight
the
ongoing
surge
to
help
keep
our
communities
safe
and
healthy.
E
The
at-home
antigen
test
kits
that
the
county
will
start
distributing,
will
be
helpful
for
multiple
reasons
they
can
be
used
by
people
who've
recently
tested
positive
for
the
virus
and
have
met
criteria
for
leaving
isolation
based
on
cdc
guidelines,
but
may
need
a
negative
test
to
do
so.
In
that
situation.
The
type
of
test
they
need
is
not
the
pcr
test,
which
we
provide
at
most
healthcare
organizations
and
at
our
county
operated
testing
sites.
Those
pcr
tests
continue
to
pick
up
dead
virus
particles
for
many
weeks,
sometimes
even
months.
E
E
Someone
can
click
on
the
button
that
will
take
them
to
the
scheduling
website,
after
which
time
they
put
in
their
information,
answer
some
basic
questions
and
then
receive
an
appointment
date
and
time
to
drive
through
a
specified
location
and
pick
up
the
four
tests
allocated
for
them.
They
will
need
to
bring
proof
of
that
appointment
at
the
time
of
pickup.
E
E
So
we
have
a
multi-factorial
approach,
working
with
community-based
organizations
working
with
teams
who
go
door
to
door
in
our
ac
risk
communities
to
ensure
that
we
have
an
equitable
distribution
to
those
who
are
most
in
need
of
these
tests
and
might
have
the
most
difficulty
obtaining
them.
E
We
continue
to
offer
testing
with
pcr
seven
days
a
week
with
over
eight
thousand
tests,
each
weekday
and
over
five
thousand
test
appointments
each
weekend
day.
E
I
want
to
personally
thank
the
many
county
staff.
Who've
worked
so
hard
over
the
last
few
days
after
we
identified
that
these
at
home
kits
were
available
for
purchase
a
team
jumped
into
action
with
all
of
the
moving
parts
to
serve
our
community,
including
the
movement
of
large
numbers
of
supplies,
organization
of
staffing
to
distribute
the
supplies
and
the
the
building
of
technology
to
make
this
as
seamless
as
possible
for
all
involved.
E
F
Good
morning,
everyone
I
I
just
wanted
to
say
a
couple
of
acknowledgements
and
thank
yous
and
then
talk
about
why
this
is
so
important.
One
is
that
I
wanted
to
acknowledge
supervisor
joe
simidian
and
he
isn't
able
to
join
us
today,
but
this
was
an
area
that
he
was
really
looking
at
the
county
to
continue
to
play
leadership.
F
Second,
I
do
want
to
just
say
what
dr
tong
said
in
in
a
slightly
different
way,
which
is
this:
the
people
who
work
for
santa
clara
county
are
really
leaving
no
stone
unturned,
as
it
relates
to
how
we
protect
the
health
and
welfare
of
our
community
and
just
a
couple
of
highlights
in
terms
of
how
we're
addressing
the
needs
for
these
particular
kinds
of
tests.
F
The
last
thing
I
wanted
to
say
is
that
I
health
is
a
local
company
and
I
really
want
to
acknowledge
that
our
staff
moved
quickly
when
they
saw
that
those
tests
were
available
to
make
sure
they
were
available
to
the
people
who
live,
work
and
play
in
santa
clara
county,
and
we
can't
forget
that
the
federal
government
also
has
a
website.
So
folks
don't
know
about
it.
Yet
you
can
go
to
covidtess.gov
covidtest.gov
and
be
able
to
get
those
sent
right
to
your
home
through
the
u.s
postal
service.
F
We're
so
excited
that
you're
here,
because
we
really
want
to
get
the
word
out
and
recognize
that
we
need
to
get
these
tests
to
every
corner
of
our
community
and
that's
part
of
the
reason
we're
using
promethoras
and
those
that
are
going
door
to
door
to
make
sure
everybody
has
access.
Thank
you
so
much
for
being
here.
A
G
F
D
F
D
So
the
county
parks
department
is
is
the
department
that
chose
the
sites.
They
chose
three
county
parks
based
on
past
successful
drive-through,
drive-through
events
at
those
parks,
and
so
those
parks
are
hellier,
marshall,
cottle
and
vesona.
D
So
we
needed
a
large
space
that
had
lighting
that
would
allow
us
to
accommodate
that
same
high
number
of
vehicle
traffic
and
also
allow
us
to
to
like
store
the
the
kits
at
the
correct
temperature
and
handle
all
that
kind
of
logistics.
D
D
Again,
because
of
the
good
work
of
dr
tong
and
her
testing
portal,
which
we
have
been
using
for
over
a
year
and
a
half
and
using
you,
have
to
register
with
that
portal
and
provide
your
personal
information
and
that
personal
information
and
that
qr
code
will
then
be
checked
on
site.
