(City of Cupertino Council Meeting, April 16, 2013) — at City of Cupertino Council Chambers, Community Hall, 10350 Torre Ave, Cupertino 95014.
A
Okay,
we
just
had
a
little
reception
out
front
for
the
city
recognizing
our
green
businesses.
We
have
a
program
called
greenbiz
Cupertino
and
today
the
City
Council
is
recognizing
our
business
environmental
leaders,
distinguished
by
both
the
Santa
Clara
County
green
business
program
and
greenbiz
Cupertino
for
their
contribution,
the
health
and
wellness
of
their
workers,
our
environment
and
our
community.
At
large.
A
By
acknowledging
these
leaders
and
their
achievements,
we
introduce
them
today,
as
ambassadors
it
greenbiz
with
the
hope
they
will
share
their
experience
in
our
program
and
act
as
a
resource
to
other
businesses
looking
to
cut
their
operational
costs
by
conserving
energy
and
water
and
cutting
on-site
waste
generation
for
these
programmatic
accomplishments.
The
council
is
proud
to
announce
that
green
business
recently
received
two
distinctions:
a
business,
environmental
award
from
iktara
and
a
green
California
Leadership
Award
for
economic
development
from
green
technology.
A
We
have
quite
a
few
staff
members
that
from
the
city
that
help
out
that
comprise
the
green
biz
team
that
works
with
these
organizations.
Aaron
Cook,
are
sustainable,
see
sustainability
manager
for
the
city
and
founder
of
the
green
business
program.
Here,
michaela
Gentilly
sustainability,
specialist
and
AmeriCorps
member
who
leads
the
current
green
business
initiative
and
introducing
angeles
way
I
hope
should
be
coming
up
here
are
a
brand
new
economic
development
manager
who
is
connecting
our
small
business
community
with
with
these
environmental
services.
A
So
there
also,
we
have
representatives
from
our
green
biz
partner
organizations
who
offer
diverse
services,
included
free
audits,
retrofits,
free
equipment
and
rebates.
Shoe
sarin
and
lisa
rose,
who
manage
the
green
bins
parent,
which
is
the
Santa
Clara
County
green
business
program,
which
is
without
which
greenbiz
would
not
exist.
Suzanne
morrison
and
john
zarrella
of
recology
our
waste
people
here
and
olinda
martinez
of
PG&E
and
Karen
kapit
of
the
Santa
Clara
Valley
Water
District
and
Ben
peak
in
the
San
Jose,
our
company,
who
are
not
intended
today.
A
So
with
that
I
invite
the
following
certified
green
businesses
on
stage
to
receive
their
Proclamation.
So
we
have
about
40
in
the
city.
We
have
17
new
ones
that
we're
kind
of
recognizing,
of
which
six
of
the
members
I
believe
are
here
today.
So
we
have
the
kiddie
Academy
represented
by
Angie
Bowers,
come
up
when
I'm.
A
Here
she
comes
sunny,
be
retirement
community
represented
by
Sally
plank
and
Charles
unum
Varden
jewelers
represented
by
bar
d
steyn.
My
name
is
the
market
represented
by
Peter?
Yes,
knee
evolution.
Bike
shop
represented
by
Kent,
got
cookie
and
cara
ain't
represented
by
prashant,
red
car
and
pilate
red

So
let
me
find
which
goes
with
which.
A
Ok,
great
guys,
mr.
mierda
Mike,
thank
you
guys
for
participating
and
anybody
else
out
there
that
wants
to
get
involved
in
a
program,
contact
erin,
I
guess
or
Michaela
through
the
city
and
we
hope
to
see
a
whole
bunch
of
more
people
up
here
in
the
program
next
year.
So
thanks
for
participating
and
good
for
business
good
for
the
environment.
Thank
you
very
much.
