A
A
We'll
have
two
parts
for
the
meeting
tonight
before
we
take
the
role
in
the
first
part
will
be
the
award
ceremony
and
then
part
two
will
be
general
business
and
we'll
have
a
little
break
in
between
in
case
people
have
other
places
to
go,
but
you're
welcome
to
stay
for
the
whole
agenda.
If
you
wish,
so
we
will
start
by
calling
to
order
the
park
board
meeting
of
January
28
2020
and
we
can
start
by
taking
the
role
Rebecca
hear
hear.
C
D
A
Have
a
quorum
all
right
and
then
we
need
to
look
at
the
agenda
and
does
realize.
Does
it
need
to
be
amended
as
or
can
we
go
as
presented
so
I'll
move,
hey
all
those
in
favor
all
those
opposed
the
agenda
is
approved
and
the
next
part
is
been
has
always
said.
This
is
his
most
favorite
meeting
of
the
year
because
it's
that
every
year,
at
this
time,
yes
so
Ben.
B
B
Year
at
counter
near
2019,
as
you
might
have
guessed,
the
parks
recreational
department
requires
we
have
to
have
volunteers
for
all
of
our
mission.
We
have
over
75
parks,
we
have
over
70
miles
of
trail.
We
have
three
golf
courses,
we
have
you
think
we
have
something
for
everybody
and
with
that
we
have
59
full-time
employees,
so
you
might
guess
that
take
care
of
a
proxy
some.
This
video
taking
a
lot
of
volunteers,
takes
a
lot
of
team
ever
and
before
I
jump
into
all.
That.
B
B
I
hear
each
and
every
time
that
we
never
had
a
Wells
Fargo
military
project
or
parks,
project
on
youth,
sports
and
I
hear
back
that's
consistent,
every
single
time.
Yes,
we
have
the
most
professional
experience.
They
took
care
of
us.
They
had
all
the
tools
there.
The
waivers
are
all
signed
ahead
of
time
and
they
said
we're
going
to
come
back
because
it's
rewarding
it's
beyond
just
getting
back
on
these.
We
make
any
morning
for
us
so
quickly,
I
like
to
thank.
B
H
H
H
Although
our
park,
planner
Colby
Feynman,
had
never
surprised
supervised
volunteers
prior
to
working
here,
he's
been
eager
to
learn
and
adapt.
He
quickly
came
up
with
ways
to
engage
the
public
and
encourage
volunteerism
he's
led
multiple
projects
with
volunteers,
including
a
large
playground
bill
to
Ashby
Park
Feynman,
facilitated
the
capital
side
of
the
build
working
with
manufacturers
and
the
volunteer
team
on
planning
the
project.
H
He
created
an
organized
construction
process
even
including
color-coded
toolkits
and
hard
hats,
Feynman
helped
train
a
new
volunteer
supervisor
for
the
national
bicycle
and
pedestrian
documentation
project
a
volunteer
data
collection
effort.
He
worked
with
the
volunteer
team
to
bring
on
a
teacher
extra
in
this
summer.
The
extern
served
hundreds
of
hours
inventory
in
our
parks
facilities.
He
evaluates
ways
to
improve
and
create
efficiencies,
resulting
in
well
thought
out.
H
Volunteer
projects,
Feynman's
creativity
and
pursuit
to
raise
the
bar
for
our
volunteers
shows
every
time
it
keeps
the
volunteers
safe,
happy
and
back
helping
present
his
award
this
evening
is
our
development
and
planning
administrator
Jenny
Richmond.
Please
join
me
in
honoring
Colby
Feynman,
as
our
2019
volunteer
supervisor
of
the
year.

B
H
Jeanne's
Cooley
has
helped
beautify
the
city
for
almost
a
decade.
Each
year
gene
spends
time
in
our
greenhouse
transplanting
spring
flowers
to
prepare
them
to
go
out
to
neighborhoods.
More
than
250,000
annuals
are
grown
thanks
to
people
like
Jean
year
after
year.
She's
not
only
helped
grow
them,
but
then
gene
spends
countless
hours
in
our
parks.
Helping
plant
them.
Jean
loves
to
support
other
volunteers
too,
and
often
can
be
found,
helping
other
volunteer
groups
in
her
neighborhood
beautifying
walnut
trees.
Our
staff
has
enjoyed
her
support
throughout
the
years
between
her
neighborhood
beautification
and
greenhouse
service.
H
H
As
we
all
know,
police
officers
have
a
very
difficult
and
time-consuming
job.
Yet
for
the
past
three
years
officer
de
Mario
Daraa
has
found
time
to
serve
as
a
volunteer
coach
for
youth
fight
football
leagues.
During
this
period
he
has
shown
great
passion
and
sportsmanship
and
has
instilled
these
qualities
and
his
players.
They
were
happy
to
see
him
each
week
and
all
the
kids
hung
around
him
before
during
and
after
games
the
season
his
team
went
undefeated
and
they
won
the
championship
since
becoming
a
police
officer
in
2015
Mario.
H
An
East
High
graduate
and
all-stater
has
volunteered
to
assist
countless
times
as
part
of
the
des
moines
police
department's
community
outreach
programs
during
his
time
as
a
football
player
for
the
des
moines
blaze
de
mario
has
also
helped
coach,
youth
soccer
and
basketball
and
instructed
at
many
youth
football
camps.
As
you
can
see
here
from
the
quotes,
the
parents
on
his
teams
were
full
of
kind
words,
calling
him
impactful
fun,
patient
motivational,
positive
and
prepared
helping
present
his
award
this
evening
is
supervisor
Tim
Smith.

Chief
cleaners,
awesomes
nice
and
come
out
also
beyond
tomorrow,
which
is
about
the
morning
right
now,
is
the
fact.
The
police
department
is
one
of
our
best
allies.
They
come
to
a
relationship
we
have
I
created
Lisa
behind
the
scenes,
don't
get
enough
credit
for
all
they
do
that
are
at
our
Community
Recreation,
Center
after
school,
on
their
own
time,
not
being
paid
by
the
city
to
help
out
with
the
kids
they're
everywhere.
So
this
is
another
great
example:
the
peace
department,
giving
back
to
our.

H
Communities
was
created
to
watch
over
humanity
by
supporting,
protecting
and
preserving
life
and
is
led
by
outstanding
community
member
Lucas.
No
Lucas
came
to
us,
passionate
and
determined
to
create
a
better
world
for
future
generations.
He
works
to
instill
sound
morals
and
character
traits
within
the
youth
in
our
community.
He
created
a
litter
free
movement
and
in
2019
they
adopted
Prospect
Park
through
Lopez's
hard
work.
He
organized
children
and
their
families
to
care
for
the
park
throughout
the
year.
H
They
educated
youth,
marched
through
the
March
through
their
community
and
hosted
multiple
fun
cleanups
donating
five
hundred
and
eighty
six
hours,
valued
at
almost
fifteen
thousand
dollars
in
their
first
year.
Their
dedication
to
enhancing
and
beautifying
the
neighborhood
is
amazing.
Watchmen
encourages
people
to
take
care
of
each
other
and
our
natural
spaces.
They
exemplify
our
mission
to
help
Des
Moines
live
well
play
hard
and
protect
the
earth.
We
honor
them
for
their
organization,
leadership
and
positive
presence
in
our
parks.
H
A
B
H
Sorry,
we
have
to
go
backwards
to
go
for
burr
kabila.
Vice
president,
the
Friends
of
Des
Moines
parks
has
served
in
many
roles
over
the
past
10
years,
including
secretary
and
on
the
board
of
directors.
Brooke
has
donated
hundreds
of
hours
promoting
the
Friends
mission,
advocating
for
more
funding
for
parks
and
recreation
services
and
has
attended
countless
events
and
activities
in
our
parks.
In
brooks
time
on
the
friends,
the
amount
of
funding
given
to
the
des
moines,
Parks
and
Recreation
has
steadily
grown
apart.
H
Thanks
to
her
dedication
and
time
volunteering,
her
commitment
to
both
the
friends
and
our
parks
has
allowed
countless
kids
to
learn
how
to
swim,
supporter
construction
of
iconic
facilities
and
improve
the
overall
quality
of
parks
and
trails
in
the
City
of
Des
Moines.
We
honor
Brooke
tonight
for
the
significant
impact
she's
had
on
our
department
and
on
our
community.
Please
join
me
in
honoring
Brooke
Avilla,
as
the
2019
friend
of
the
year.
B
H
Wells
Fargo
has
been
a
community
leader
for
decades.
They
believe
one
of
the
most
important
contributions
their
team
members
make
is
using
their
professional
knowledge,
skills
and
abilities
to
help
organizations
such
as
ours,
helping
alongside
us
in
cemeteries,
hand,
cleaning
and
restoring
our
monuments,
organizing
cleanups
in
our
parks
and
our
gardens,
pulling
litter
from
our
creeks
and
along
our
trails
and
our
rivers
and
so
much
more.
Their
volunteerism
is
year-round
and
touches
every
part
of
our
department
this
year.
H
In
addition
to
their
in-kind
support,
Wallace
Fargo
donated
money
to
renovate
George
Whitmore
Park
in
the
heart
of
Des
Moines
through
their
philanthropy
they've
strengthened
our
community
and
enhanced
our
quality
of
life.
Their
passion
for
our
park
system
is
unparalleled
over
the
past
ten
years,
they've
had
more
than
3,300
employees
donate
time
with
us.
Their
service
is
valued
at
more
than
three
hundred
and
forty-seven
thousand
dollars
for
the
work
they've
done
with
us.
H
They
were
chosen
as
the
2019
Iowa
Parks
and
Recreation
associations,
business
support,
award
winner,
accepting
tonight's
award
on
behalf
of

Please
join
me
in
honoring
Wells
Fargo
for
the
fifth
time
in
ten
years,
as
our
2019
corporate
volunteer
group
of
the
year.
H
My
Crowley
has
been
an
outstanding
volunteer
of
the
years,
but
in
2019
his
service
was
beyond
measure.
Rowley
chaired
the
citizens,
cemetery
Advisory
Committee
and
helped
with
the
governor's
own
regiment,
flag,
retirement
project
spearheaded
reads
across
America
efforts,
including
recruiting
veterans,
finding
donors
working
with
musicians,
volunteers
and
more
he's
worked
hundreds
of
hours
over
the
years,
supporting
our
cemeteries
and
protecting
the
history
within
them.
Rowley
walks
the
cemetery
almost
daily
and
can
be
found
at
almost
every
Cemetery
volunteer
event
from
flag
decoration
to
flag
retirement.
H
He
spent
countless
hours
supporting
efforts
such
as
the
installation
of
1812
stones.
This
year
he's
a
great
leader,
a
voice
for
our
cemeteries
and
our
communities
past
helping
present
his
award
this
evening,
a
cemetery
supervisor
Ganesh
Ganpat.
Please
join
me
as
we
honor
Mike
Raley,
as
the
2019
volunteer
of
the
year.
B
C
B
H
Recreation
has
played
a
huge
part
in
George,
Davis's
entire
life.
His
passion
led
to
a
long
career
teaching
and
coaching
youth
full-time.
Somehow
he
still
found
time
to
also
work
part
time
and
Parks
and
Recreation
and
umpire
to
his
first
job
with
us,
was
putting
on
t-ball
clinics
working
on
fundamentals
of
hitting,
with
six
to
eight
year
olds,
George
himself
played
in
the
South
Des
Moines
Little
League
and
remembered
once.
He
saw
sign
with
advice
that
stuck
with
him
a
kid
in
sports
stays
out
of
courts
and
for
more
than
50
years.
H
He's
helped
do
just
that:
supporting
recreation,
coaching,
leading
and
serving
softball
basketball,
football
volleyball
track
east
high,
north
high
tech
and
more
you
name.
It
he's
done
it
knowing
George's
larger-than-life
personality.
It
should
come
as
no
surprise
that
he
is
well
loved
inducted
into
the
Iowa
softball
Hall
of
Fame
honored
in
the
North
High
athletic
Wall
of
Fame
named
conference
track
coach
of
the
year,
winning
sporting
good
Manufacturers
Association.
Here's
a
word:
the
list
of
athletes
goes
on
and
on
and
for
many
of
the
same
reasons
we
honor
him
tonight.
H
Parents,
athletes
and
co-workers
use
words
like
love,
respect,
excellence,
leadership,
a
caring
person
hard-working
to
describe
George
Davis.
We
should
add
to
those
words,
humble
and
team
player,
because
with
each
award,
George
always
thanked
his
assistants
and
his
athletes
making
sure
they
understood
how
the
honor
was
theirs
and
not
his
making
sure
that
they
understood
he
was
there
to
support
them
and
to
teach
them.
George
told
his
wife
many
times
that
he
has
gotten
much
more
from
those
he
coached
in
his
life
than
he
could
ever
give
back.
H
George
once
described
coaching
as
an
extension
of
yourself.
Coaching
was
not
just
about
athletics,
but
also
teaching
about
life.
If
his
students
had
walked
away
only
knowing
basketball
or
track
or
softball,
he
had
failed,
but
if
they
learn
that
academics
was
just
as
important
as
athletics
that
learning
and
loving
each
other
was
more
important
than
winning.
Then
he
had
succeeded
in
to
this
day.
George's
personality
reflects
this,
as
he
spends
his
time,
giving
back
to
his
community
spreading
joy
and
sharing
his
humor,
and
all
that
he
does.
H
George
Dimas
also
described
himself
as
lucky
working
with
some
of
the
best
coaches
and
athletes
out
there,
and
that's
how
we
would
describe
getting
to
work
with
him
lucky
and
honored,
lucky
and
honored
that
he
chose
us
to
donate
hundreds
of
hours
to
lucky
and
honor
that
he
shares
his
passion
for
Parks
and
Recreation
with
us
and
with
our
community
lucky
that
he
agreed
to
step
up
and
volunteer
as
a
leader
on
our
board
and
in
his
neighborhood.
His
passion
and
skills
have
translated
well
into
retirement
and
have
helped
him
develop.
H
One
of
the
most
active
neighborhoods
in
the
city
he's
invigorated
our
board
and
increased
involvement,
especially
in
our
subcommittees,
as
many
of
you
know,
he's
a
key
supporter
of
our
parks
and
there
isn't
a
meeting,
a
dedication,
a
ribbon-cutting,
a
litter
cleanup
or
any
community
event
that
George
Davis
can't
be
found
at
George.
Davis
continues
to
demonstrate
exemplary
leadership
in
the
field
of
Parks
and
Recreation,
and
tonight
we
recognize
his
lifetime
of
service
to
our
community.
It
has
been
our
privilege
to
work
with
him
through
the
years.
H
A
J
J
J
What
choice
does
this
city
cannot
be
duplicated?
By
admitting
us,
this
award
is
just
a
small
token
of
all
you've
done.
George
I
can't
tell
you
how
much
we've
all
sitting
here.
So,
let's
create
your
family.
Look
at
this
things.
It's
a
fantastic
everything
that
you've
done
has
been
exactly
the
same
point.
So
this
is
just
small
token.
What
you've
done,
keep
it
going.
Baby
buddy.
B
See
he
stopped
George
when
he
was
still
working
for
us.
He
observed
a
compassion
and
I've
ever
met.
I
personally
seen
them
give
people
rides
to
services,
they
couldn't
get
you
to
eat
them
to
get
you
I've
seen
him
write
his
own
check.
Schools
can't
honor
the
wallet
to
make
sure
this
kid
at
home.
How
this
kid
had
once
that
week
that
right,
I
seen
him
make
phone
calls
to
make
sure
people
took
we're
taking
care
of.
We
already
did
the
procs
recreation.

for
their
incredible

supporting
our

throughout
the

and
walking
the
welcoming
them
into
everything
that
we
basically
do.
A
big
THANK

A
That
was
a
great
great
presentation.
Kelly
did
a
good
job
and
I
feel
so
honored
I
feel
so
honored
to
work
with
each
and
every
one
of
you.
You
guys
are
the
most
dedicated
people
in
the
world
and
if
you
ever
going
to
be
in
a
board
park
and
rec
is
the
way
to
go,
you
know
what
we
need
to
approve
the
minutes.
If
we
haven't
met
for
two
months,
my
goodness
so.
B
E
E
N
N
A
B
You
so,
as
we
updated
chapter
74
last
year
again,
thank
you
for
your
help
on
that.
One
of
the
things
that
clean
up
was,
we
could
bring
you.
This
will
be
pulls
easier
than
all
in
one
meeting
and
why
that's
important
is
this:
is
the
time
of
year
that
we're
building
the
marketing
materials
that
go
out
and
we
had
to
print
on
production
on
that
and
put
the
word
out
with
lifeguards
and
set
seasons,
set
season
dates.
D
There
are
a
variety
of
different
aquatic
facilities
in
our
system.
We
have
swimming
pools
and
aquatic
centers,
Ashworth
and
Birdland
are
our
swimming
pools
with
water
depth
between
4
feet,
6,
inches
and
13
feet.
Nahas,
Northwest's
and
Teachout
are
aquatic
centers
with
zero
duck
entries
that
go
to
a
maximum
water
depth
of
5
feet
and
all
have
multiple
areas
of
activity.
We
have
wading
pools,
which
is
a
small
pool
with
standing
water
and
no
spray
features.
D
D
We
are
also
proposing
that
we
open
teach
out
family
Aquatic,
Center
Memorial
Day
weekend,
which
is
May
23rd
through
the
25th.
We
will
have
Nahas
family
Aquatic,
Center,
open
Labor
Day
weekend,
which
is
September
5th
through
7th
august
22nd
and
23rd
29th
and
30th
we're
on
a
three-year
rotation
between
aquatic
centers,
as
they
are
a
DA
accessible.
B
Tim
begins
that
section
of
the
presentation
I
will
tell
you
that
the
city
manager
did
submit
his
operating
budget
to
the
City
Council
and
one
of
those
added
items
that
we
requested
was
the
board's
request
to
add
all
hours
to
the
five
pools
and
that
is
in
his
budget.
But
we're
still
in
the
process
approximately
late,
March,
sorry
late,
late,
yeah,
late
March.
We
should
have
a
final
City
Council
approved
budget,
but
right
now
the
later
bladder.
Always
it
won't
provide
that
in
there.
But
that
would
not
start
until
calendar
year
2021,
because.
C
F
B
Well,
Tim
and
I
were
talking
about
Drake
Park,
the
debates
weren't.
As
you
know,
the
Kelly
family
in
America.
We
have
made
a
great
donation
to
our
cell
for
two
new
spray
grounds.
Those
will
be
under
construction
this
year.
If
all
goes
as
planned,
then
the
bid
come
back
within
our
budget.
One
of
the
things
that
we
wanted.
The
direct
attention
to
is
at
Bates
Park
that
spray
down
will
go
in
the
exact
same
location
as
a
wading
pool,
so
that
would
Natalie
by
the
way,
because
the
contract
will
start
that
process
at
Drake.
B
There
is
a
potential
and
I
stress
potential
that
we
could
keep
Drake
open
for
maybe
a
few
weeks,
maybe
the
whole
summer.
We
don't
know
yet
cuz
the
new
spray
ground
was
in
a
different
part
of
that
fog.
However,
you'd
run
into
complexities.
When
you
start,
you
know
connecting
a
new
water
lines
and
disconnecting
the
old
water
lines
until
we
have
approved
bid
and
we
meet
with
the
award
winning
contractor
to
talk
about
their
schedule
and
talk
about
logistics.
B
We
won't
know
that
answer,
so
we
have
the
best
intentions
as
staff
to
keep
that
one
going
just
because
it's
in
a
different
location
Department,
as
long
as
that
doesn't
affect
the
operation
we'll
keep
it
thrown
as
long
as
possible
and
do
our
best
job
of
up
to
be
neighborhood
associations
using
social
media
using
every
avenue.
We
can
to
tell
people
that,
when
it's
gonna
close
and
watch
them
close,
but
I
wanted
to
start
here
with
this
board
to
say
our
intentions
are
to
keep
Drake
open
as
long
as
possible.
Maybe
the
whole
summer.
F
In
recent
years,
the
city
has
increased
the
number
of
spray
grounds
in
the
parks.
Most
recent
spray
grounds
added
were
at
Sheridan
and
tower
parks,
which
both
opened
last
May,
Drake
and
mate.
Bates
parks
are
next
to
add
spray
features
scheduled
to
open
in
the
spring
of
2021,
bringing
the
total
to
15.
F
F
F
Like
to
fittings
of
friends
with
Des
Moines
parks
and
variety
for
their
continued
support
of
our
aquatic
SPRO
gram,
we
are
very
grateful
for
their
2009
donation
in
the
amount
of
fifteen
thousand
two
hundred
seventy
dollars.
This
year's
funds
will
once
again
be
used
to
provide
scholarships
for
swim.
Lessons
from
aquatic
centers
to
playgrounds
joint
offers,
a
wide
variety
of
options
that
help
ensure
the
aquatic
needs
of
our
residents
are
met.
This
concludes
our
presentation
I'd
like
to
thank
Laura
for
joining
me
tonight,
and
now
we
can
answer
any
questions
you
may
have.
Thank
you.
A
Have
a
question
Tim
when
that
is
I.
Think
last
year
been
or
maybe
the
year
before
you
made
an
adjustment
because
of
the
severe
eat
or
something
am
I
right.
There
are
wrong
I,
so
moving
forward
I'd
like
to
have
us
still
leave
that
discretion
to
the
director
I
I
can't
remember
what
it
was
if
there's
something
regarding
if
I
eat,
yeah.
B
I
have
the
discretion
through
the
food
code
as
well
as
just
you
know,
my
best
judgment
call
to
extend
hours
here,
there's
a
little
bit
playing
the
budget
for
that,
and
we
always
err
to
the
side
of
caution
when
I
gets
extra
hot
out.
So
this
is
a
place
to
pull
off.
I
could
be
community
recreation
center.
It
could
be
an
aquatic
facility.
Yes,.
A
E
M
E
L
L
J
B
So
Nexus
is
an
item
that
we
don't
even
back
to
the
board.
Actions
will
remind
John
that
we
have
a
looking
relation
from
the
ship
with
the
city
manager
to
inform
this
board
and
to
inform
him,
and
he
takes
that
jurisdiction
approval
with
a
five-year
warranty.
If
you
will
is
Luxur.
Let
me
approve
these
waivers
of
fees.
You
can
see
chapter
74.
Allow
me
to
waive
fees
for
certain
reasons.
You
can
see
all
the
fees
that
we've
waived.
B
The
majority
are
our
neighbors
associations
using
our
parks,
but
I
think
is
a
wonderful
use
of
wit
and
fees.
It's
not
perfect
science,
but
it
seems
to
be
infested.
We
can
use
the
judgment.
Call
from
the
language
within
that
letter,
so
I
would
entertain
any
questions
you
have
regarding
the
fee
waiver.
If
you
add
all
these
folks
at
they
were
neighborhood
associations
we're
providing
a
free
service
in
our
parks.
C
B
All
right,
the
last
a
second.
The
last
item
we
have
tonight
is
a
direct
result
of
the
conference
that
plan
that
we
all
adopted,
as
you
know,
George
and
the
media,
always
asking
all
of
you
that
we
put
on
your
subcommittees,
proposing
to
add
a
new
subcommittee
that
came
from
the
copyright,
the
comprehensive
plan
and
without
further
ado
without
me,
in
the
way
that
Richard
a
man
of
a
letting
that
kind
of
kickoff.
Why
we're
asking
you
to
approve
this
and
what
it's
all
about?
B
O
O
The
recreation
subcommittee
in
the
creation
of
such
was
a
key
recommendation
of
the
attraction
goal.
Now
the
board
has
the
ability
to
have
standing
subcommittees,
of
which
we
have
for
now.
Many
of
you
have
either
served
on
or
are
currently
serving
on
those
subcommittees,
so
this
would
live
very
much
in
that
same
model.
O
Some
of
the
goals
for
this
subcommittee
in
particular
would
be
to
review
and
provide
advice
on
program
offerings
locations
and
fees.
Ensure
programming
helps
to
further
the
goals
of
live
DSM,
certainly
again
trying
to
have
those
be
a
prominent
part
of
any
initiative
or
discussion
with
the
community
provide
ideas
for
potential.
New
programs
propose
changes
to
current
and
plan
programs,
review
program
brochures
and
provide
recommendations
to
increase
participation
or
offer
suggestions
and
options
to
reach
underrepresented
communities.
O
That's
very
much
in
line
with
the
subcommittee's
that
we
have
in
place
today,
we're
exploring
maybe
a
new
model
where
there
might
be
several
meetings
in
the
first
part
of
the
year
before
our
peak
programming
season,
and
then
several
meetings
after
so
that
people
can
be
part
of
the
planning
process.
The
assessment
process
will
have
the
season
to
really
experience
and
absorb
and
then
we'll
come
back
and
assess
that
and
gear
up
for
the
next
season
and
see
if
that
might
be
a
appropriate
cycle
for
this
subcommittee.
O
You
have
to
be
finalized,
but
some
of
the
what
our
discussions
are
looking
specifically
at
the
members
in
what
we're
trying
to
create
here
in
terms
of
a
diverse
cross-section
of
the
community
and
representing
all
interest
in
terms
of
recreation
and
programming
opportunities.
We
are
first
and
foremost
recommending
that
we
have
a
single,
Park
and
Recreation
Board
member
be
part
of
the
subcommittee.
O
Then
we
would
have
three
residents
at-large
and
then
that
next
list
there
that
you
see
we
would
be
looking
to
have
four
of
those
eight
categories
and
again
these
eight
categories,
don't
necessarily
capture
every
aspect
of
our
community,
but
from
a
staff
standpoint.
Our
discussions
led
us
to
a
list
that
we
think
would
produce
a
again
diverse
and
unique
perspective.
As
part
of
this
group,
we
also
are
recommending
that
we
have
a
youth
representative,
so
this
would
be
someone
under
18
to
have
that
voice
be
part
of
discussions.
O
B
Just
for
second
is:
this
is
a
site
that
we
worked
on
with
our
colleagues
at
the
Des
Moines
sibling,
Human,
Rights,
Division
of
the
City
Department,
and
so
helping
us
better
understand
our
community
and
the
right
terminology
used
when
classifying
potential
committee
members
so
I
want.
You
know
that
there
is
some
science
behind
all
of
this.
How
will
I
get
assemble
in
this
committee.
O
Thank
you
share
a
little
bit
of
the
timeline
moving
forward,
happy
and
interested
in
having
some
discussion.
Obviously
with
you
about
the
concept
here
tonight,
but
moving
forward
in
February.
Our
hope
is
to
have
a
potential
approval
and
official
activation
of
the
subcommittee
with
a
receiving
file
of
the
projected
or
planned
bylaws
in
March.
With
the
acceptance
of
those
approval
in
April,
then
subcommittee
appointments
in
May,
with
the
option
of
obviously
working
into
June
with
that
and
our
ultimate
goal
of
having
the
first
recreation
subcommittee
meeting
in
July
of
this
year.
O
I
will
go
ahead
and
hand
out
some
of
our
committee
applications.
So
if
there
are
some
people
out
there
that
you
think
might
be
interested
in
serving
in
this
specific
capacity,
I'll
go
ahead
and
hand
these
down
feel
free
to
take
one.
If
there's
some
left
at
the
end,
I'll
collect
these
back.
These
end
up
coming
back
in
to
Rebecca
and
being
passed
along
to
the
appropriate
person,
there's
actually
a
spot.
This
is
our
Universal
application
for
anybody
who
might
be
interested
in
any
of
our
other
subcommittees
as
well.
O
B
O
M
B
Question
so
what
we're
trying
to
accomplish
with
this
committee
is
a
see
if
we're
really
hitting
the
mark.
The
demographic
is
always
changing
and
you've
seen
a
bigger
shift
in
the
recent
decade
and
we've
seen
a
long
time
in
our
demographic.
So
we
look
at
this
group
as
a
lot
of
different
things.
Long
as
the
slow
simplest
as
help
us
market
help
us
make
sure
we're
and
what's
the
best
way
to
market.
There
are
some
groups
that
don't
use,
email
or
social
media
also.
B
Are
we
providing
the
right
activities
it's
hard
to
get
input
on
some
things
again
going
out
to
the
different
cultures?
We
hope
they
can
tell
us
that
hey.
You
know.
We
have
h
a
crowd
court
in
Evergreen
Park,
for
example
over
by
a
fairway
on
the
southeast
side.
Is
there
enough
capacity
and
desire
for
a
foul
league?
That's
one
example,
but
there
are
other
games.
We
don't
know
about
today
that
they're
starting
to
come
or
because
of
that
different
demographic
moving
in
so
help
us
understand
it
from
hitting
the
mark.
B
If
we're
not
hitting
the
mark,
what
should
we
put
in
spot
help
its
market
up?
Let's
get
the
word
out
anything
like
a
new
kind
of,
like
you
all
doing,
you're
an
advisory
board.
This
will
be
an
advisory
committee
to
help
us
and
you
know
their
bid
to
probably
be
a
time
to
talk
fees.
What's
the
right
feet
for
something
like
again
a
trowel
dink,
is
it
$20
a
team
or
is
it
five?
You
know
things
like
all
the
other
committees
are
doing
for
us.
B
It's
kind
of
a
sounding
work
person
I
have
full
belief
that
this
will
be
an
evolution.
Group
it'll
evolve
at
first
we'll
have
to
kind
of
find
our
way
through.
It's
not
been
done.
Another
place,
we're
looking
for
a
minute,
we've
been
creating
the
wheel.
If
you
want
this
one
riding
by
walls
behind
the
scenes
already
in
we're.
Gonna
presume
you
like
this
idea.
B
E
B
We're
going
to
acquire
two
things,
one
I
look
for
all
of
you.
That's
your
role
as
a
board
member
to
we've
been
working
to
give
that
doing
him,
human
and
civil
rights
Department.
They
have
already
made
great
inroads
into
the
different
demographics
and
populations
of
the
city
they're
doing
their
own
big.
Lift
right
now
just
blocks
the
name
with
a
big
event
that
are
doing
that's
been
going
on.
You
know
it
is
Richard.
You've,
probably
seen
in
the
paper.
I
just
lost
the
demon.
Yes,.
B
B
You
won't
get
an
equal
to
9,
1,
z,
tuesdays,
you're
gonna
get
the
first
time
around,
probably
a
handful,
the
next
time,
not
another
handful,
so
we
can
get
started
if
there's
ideas
that
we're
not
getting,
let
us
know
but
again
kind
of
going,
let's
blindly
a
little
bit
howdy
intrude
and
how
did
not
recruit.
We
have
some
ideas.
Well,
if
you
have
ideas,
we're
hoping
those
as
well,
what.
O
I
can
tell
you
about
the
initial
concept
were
sharing
with
you
and
I.
Had
the
privilege
of
sharing
the
information
with
United
assistant
director,
Richard
Brown
did
much
of
the
research
and
there
was
several
concepts
than
that
nationally
nationwide
that
were
kind
of
the
basis
for
the
formation
of
what
we're
sharing
with
you
now
and
it's
again
to
Ben's
point.
We've
talked
about
that.
There
has
to
be
a
starting
point,
but
don't
inevitably
be
in
evolution
and
there'll,
be
some
things.
O
We're
sure
emerge,
as
maybe
some
of
the
most
significant
or
important,
and
some
of
that
may
be
based
on
the
makeup
of
the
committee
and
some
of
the
people
who
actually
do
end
up
committing
their
time
to
the
concept.
But
we're
excited
to
see
what
that
looks
like
I
think
then
obviously
hit
one
of
the
biggest
things
on
the
mark,
with
advocacy
and
marketing,
and
support
and
education
about
opportunities
that
are
made
available
through
the
city.
O
One
of
the
things
that
we
hope
is
really
highlighted
quite
a
bit
through
the
committee
and
their
outreach
potentially
is
the
new
scholarship
program
and
access
to
that
and
the
growth
of
that.
So
there's
a
lot
of
layers
here
to
be
explored
and
I.
Think
it's
just
an
exciting
option
and
opportunity
for
us
to
have
this
additional
layer
of
connection
to
the
community
and.
B
We
don't
need
it
today,
because
we
don't
know
what
you
I
mean.
What
would
be
a
month
from
now,
but
be
thinking
if
you're
interested
as
a
board
member
we're
going
to
ask
you
to
have
a
board
member
walk
through
George
to
propose
to
be
on
this
committee
as
well
like
we
have
other
board
members
on
other
committees,.
A
O
A
Glad
to
see
that
we
have
the
youth
under
18
one
member,
but
here's
the
thing
in
Joel,
I'm
sure
you,
you
may
agree,
I'm
wondering
if
we
need
to
expand
that
more
and
I'm
and
I
certainly
don't
know
if
a
three-year
term
for
youth
is
a
good
is
a
good
term.
Maybe
that
ought
to
be
yearly
absolutely
or
semester
watch,
because
that
way,
we'll
get
a
watt
a
wider
vision.
O
K
K
K
B
Okay,
then,
if
you
will
say
three
of
them
that
show
up
in
two
others
not
show
up,
you
can't
have
an
official
meeting
now.
That
being
said,
I
think
your
honest
and
with
it
rotating
quicker
through
mm-hmm.
Another
thing
is:
there's
nothing
that
stops
them.
If
we
could
still
reach
out
to
the
school
and
have
them
be
non-voting
members,
one
would
be
I
like
one
because
I
tested
this
with
my
own
daughter
who's,
a
sophomore
she's
like
dad.
Why
would
I?
Why
would
I
sign
up
if
I
really
don't
get
a
vote?
What's
in
it?
B
I
B
Speaking
group,
but
we
might
just
get
lucky
and
we
might
not,
it
might
get
mostly
folks
from
one
Ward
and
we'll
try
not
to
that'll,
be
our
goal
with
you
and
you
can
look
at
and
also
help
us
and
say.
Well,
you
have
too
many
Ward
threes
here
been
many,
for
whatever
reason
just
go
back
to
drive
more
more
people.
Let
me
up
you
guys.
O
Situation
there
were
a
couple
other
concepts
out
there
that
have
been
in
place.
There's
sometimes
a
senior
youth
member
that
had
been
part
of
the
board
or
the
subcommittee
previously,
and
a
junior
member
comes
in
to
kind
of
learn
under
them
and
then
they'll
always
be.
But
one
is
the
voting
position
and
one
is
the
learning
position.
So
there's
a
couple
other
things
we
can
present
absolutely
and.
A
A
G
A
A
B
For
us,
this
is
the
video
that
we
sent
out
to
you
all,
but
should
be
I
should
be
able
to
I
didn't
know.
There
could
all
see
this,
but
again,
it's
also
nice
to
play
for
the
viewing
audience
of
channel
7
I,
always
like
this
being
for
to
again
congratulate
Callie
and
then
last
but
not
least,
it's
always
good
to
look
back
at
all
people.
We
helped
last
year
have
a
great
time
at
our
park
system.
Yes,.
B
A
B
B
B
B
B
Let's
get
in
that
way,
another
big
year
in
front
of
us,
but
I
want
to
thank
all
of
you
and
just
again
say
how
lucky
the
city
is
to
have
this
board
staff.
We
have
a
convinced
passionately
between
you
and
the
staff
out
there.
You
know
I
see
my
picture
that
are
way
too
few
times
they
do
all
the
work.
I
think
you
have
email
that
so
it's
good
to
have
them
on
this
team
I.
A
A
G
So
we
actually
met
just
on
the
16th
that
we
recap
our
Whitmer
Park
tour
and
heard
a
little
bit
more
about
how
that's
going.
We
talked
about
the
Waveland,
don't
golf
deer
passage,
Ewing,
Park,
inventory
and
maintenance
plan,
and
then
the
county
soccer
hoop
and
hear
a
discussion
from
2018
so
revisited
that
anyway,.
B
A
N
Met
Wednesday
January,
8th
at
4
o'clock,
and
we
approve
the
minutes.
We
talked
about
the
nominating
process
or
in
the
process
of
breeding
new
members
for
citizen
cemetery,
Advisory
Board
finished
up
with
the
reefs
across
America
and
started
the
planning
process
for
next
year.
We
are
currently
looking
at
chapter
7
for
kid
134,
chapter
34
of
rules
and
regulations.
Our
next
meeting
is
March
4th,
ok,
great.
L
N
L
B
B
They
leap
for,
for
them,
they've
never
had
a
paid
staff,
so
it's
a
part-time
gig
and
I
always
describe
and
respect
all
of
you
like
this
is.
We
know
that
we
might
pay
her
for
20
hours
a
week.
We're
still
gonna
get
a
lot
more
from
Sarah
out
of
a
deal,
so
I'm
excited
to
see
what
this
does
for
the
friend
of
the
wind
parks.
They've
done
great
great
duck
raising
funds.
Now
they
have
something:
that's
actually
gonna,
be
organizing
them
further
behind
the
scenes
and
taken
in
the
next
level.
Sarah
is
that
person.
B
B
A
You
did
a
great
job,
we're
gonna,
miss
you,
I
know
a
lot
of
times
when
it's
90
degrees
out,
and
you
have
a
disgruntled
parent
and
you
get
them
with
that.
Radiant
smile
and
you
you,
you
cool
the
situation
and
we
are
definitely
going
to
miss.
You
did
a
great
job.
Okay,
any
anything
else,
hey
up
one
suggestion,
I
think
man
I
have
cookies
and
stuff
at
every.
