we
start
to
look
towards
fall,
Des,
Moines,
Parks
and
Recreation
has
plenty
of
programs
and
activities
to
keep
you
and
your
family
busy.
My
name
is
Jen
Fletcher
marketing,
supervisor
and
I'm
excited
to
share
what
we've
got
going
on
this
month.
Our
summer
programs
have
started
to
wind
down
for
the
season.
There
are
just
a
few
weeks
left
to
work
on
your
downward
facing
dog
at
yoga
in
the
park.
The
series
ends
Saturday
September
28.
A
Thank
you
to
everyone
who
came
out
and
especially
to
all
our
volunteer
instructors,
because
without
their
time
and
dedication,
this
event
would
not
be
possible.
There
will
also
be
one
last
moon
float
on
September
19th,
beginning
at
eight
thirty
boat
rental
hours
are
extended
on
the
night
of
the
full
moon.
Six
dollars
a
boat
and
no
reservations
are
allowed.
Boats
can
only
be
rented
in
half
hour.
Increment
increments
enjoy
a
Sunday
afternoon
of
wine
and
roses
at
the
Claire
and
miles
Mills
rose
garden,
Sunday
September
15
from
one
to
four
p.m.
A
pack,
a
picnic
and
come
out
and
enjoy
the
roses
in
bloom.
This
popular
facility
houses,
28
beds
with
more
than
200
varieties
of
flowers,
Somerset
winery
will
have
samples,
as
well
as
wine,
bottles,
Stoppers
and
glasses.
Available
Stephen
Charlestown
will
provide
live
music.
We
need
your
help.
Des
Moines
is
once
again
taking
part
in
the
national
bicycle
and
pedestrian
documentation
project
a
nationwide
effort
to
count
the
number
of
bicyclists
and
pedestrians
using
our
roads,
sidewalks
and
trails
in
19
locations
across
the
city.

city
needs
volunteers
to
count
and
conduct
surveys
on
the
dates
shown
on
the
screen
to
volunteer.

three
parks
to
call
their
own
as
the
brand-new
Reno
Memorial
dog
park
is
open.
This
park
is
located
at
3533,
East
Douglas,
just
across
from
sergeant
Park
and
blocks
from
the
natural
playscape.
The
fenced
three
and
a
half
acre
location
includes
mature
trees,
providing
shade
for
your
dog
while
it
runs
freely
and
makes
new
friends.
The
hours
of
the
new
parks
are
6
a.m.
to
sunset.
Daily
permits
are
required
to
use
this
parka
for
twenty
dollars
a
year.

access
to
all
three
dog
barks
purchase
your
permit
at
City,
Hall
Monday,
through
Friday
8am
to
5pm
dogs
must
be
licensed,

construction.
The
first
phase
of
the
project
designed
to
improve
water
quality
is
now
underway,
and
the
entire
project
will
be
completed
next
summer.
