the

avenue

street
bridge.
The
City
of
Des
Moines
will
host
a
number
of
events
that
will
kick
off
the
summer
season.

at

the
many
ways
that
we
try

keep
you
informed.
Some
residents
may
not
be
aware
of
the
city's
ordinance
that
prohibits
the
posting
of
signs
in
the
public
right-of-way
or
on
public
property
in
the
right-of-way,
such
as
trees
or
utility
poles.

a
general

provides
general
zoning
regulations,
including
regulations
covering
temporary
signs,
while
temporary
signs,
advertising
legal
yard
sales,
open
houses
or
similar
temporary
events
during
the
time
of
the
event

allowed.

signs

located

triangle
and
should
not
be
placed

right-of-way

No
rules
have
been
implemented
for
door-to-door
peddlers.
That
will
help
you
determine
if
they
are
legitimate
in
response
to
several
resident
complaints.
The
City
of
Des
Moines
has
revised
the
peddlers
ordinance.
A
Peddlers
are
restricted
to
9am
through
9pm
time
and
must
leave
a
copy
of
their
city
issued
permit
at
each
location
where
they
visit
with
the
resident.
The
permit
looks
like
this
notice.
The
city's
logo
in
the
upper
left
hand
corner,
and
it
is
signed
by
the
city
clerk,
feel
free
to
ask
the
peddler
to
see
their
permit
when
they
arrive
at
your
door.
If
you
have
problems
with
a
peddler
or
they
refuse
to
show
your
permit,
please
report
this
issue
to
the
City
Clerk's
office

Remember
that
parking
ticket
that
you
got
a
couple
months
ago,
but
you
didn't
pay.
You
may
want
to
take
care
of
that
now
effective
immediately.
The
City
of
Des
Moines
will
be
placing
stops
on
polk
county
license.
Plate
renewals
for
vehicles
that
have
unpaid
parking
tickets
from
the
City
of
Des
Moines
residents
will
receive
notice
of
their
unpaid
fines
on
their
license.
Plate
renewal
forms
mailed
each
month
by
polk
county,
where
the
citations
are
paid
in
full.
The
license
plates
will
be
eligible
for
renewal.
There
are
three
easy
ways
to
research
and
pay
parking
citations.
