Are we recording now Michelle or okay, all right so welcome everyone to the Monday, May 15th 2023, meeting of the Englewood environmental Foundation, otherwise known as if um called order is the first item on the agenda so, as the president called this meeting to order. uh The second item is approval of minutes. So thank you, Michelle for your work on this. We have um the eve meeting minutes from March. 30Th can I get a motion to approve them.

Do we is anyone here to address Steve, hey, not seeing anybody? uh The next is new business approval request for a change order for fountain light replacement with k m Enterprise, so we have uh Trey Blake and Melinda gorblisch um on the call so Terry Melinda. Would you like to do a presentation on this item.

Yes, how's everybody great now.

That I can hear everybody yeah.

So um yeah so the old lights, they lasted around six uh five to six years um that chlorine Cuts their lifetime in half, it's pretty hard on it and the six years is actually pretty good. um So we've got two options: um option: one is it's around five thousand and those lights come with red, green and blue with um a soft white and I. Think that'll be um nice, especially at night, because I know the apartments they have people in there. We don't want them too bright in option.

Two is the um it's a little over nine thousand and that one comes with um red, green blue and the like an LED White so and uh that's pretty bright and those are really the only differences in them.

um When I was talking to Kirk the one he runs, the fountain um and so really I think you know option, one will uh be just fine and those will last another six years um they have some that are made of brass and those are real pricing. I think you know, maybe you know next year or something we start planning for that um just and those last a lot longer.

um They don't get rusted out like these ones. Do um they're low voltage and um yeah? That's all! That's all I got.

Great, thank you Trey. So this is a clarifying question in the memo. Is it the option? One is the one: that's five thousand one dollar and eighty cents and option two is the nine thousand change? Yes, yes, and so you is your recommendation. Then um option.

One yes, yes, I think that one would be best for us, um just like I said just because the apartments there we don't want to have them too bright, then get a complaint that is too bright and have to you know, switch them.

One yeah thank you for the options. It's always good to have a couple options, um and this was sourced through optimal source. Is it that recurring vendor trade.

uh Yes, yes, so he was um he's been telling us about this for a while, and um so he's pretty happy with. You know us even talking about it and trying to get him some new lights.

Did we use them for some other city-wide projects, this vendor.

True I guess one question I had is um you know obviously there and thank you for acting on that request. There was a request to turn the water in the fountain pink. um You know for uh Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, so you're able you know through a different vendor to secure that so I guess what I'm wondering I can't think of any off top of my head. But let's say there was a month.

um You know where the color was red or the color was blue, um which I think there are a few months that have those colors as examples would we be able to you know if counselor or whoever requested could we turn the fountain like a certain color for a certain? You know one color like for the month or the week. If we wanted yeah.

Definitely I especially at night um I. Think it'd, look awesome because I know there are um cancer awareness months. You know they have the blue and green, um or you know the red, so it'd be it'd, be cool and I think um we just got to let him know and he can set it to where it. You know it runs all night or when it gets dark.

And the rest of the time would it just be like the white light or when the colors kind of alternate yeah.

Yeah, so um it'll really be kind of up to us if we wanted to have like all three colors going at the same time at night or specifically, you know, if it's you know, you know an awareness month, we can have that the whole month. So it's really up to us and um what we ask.

Great, if this does pass um Jackie and Christina, do you have any as an initial direction, to True idea of any feelings about whether it should just be white or whether you'd like to see alternating colors.
