So
here
we
are
in
october,
we've
been
doing
the
public
access
for
the
computers
for
a
while,
as
well
as
continuing
curbside
pickup
numbers
will
look
pretty
consistent
from
what
you've
seen
from
the
last
few
months,
the
number
of
physical
visitors.
You
know
a
fraction
of
what
it
would
have
was
in
october
2019,
but
1500
people
visiting
the
library
is
just
one
of
those
numbers
that
jumped
out
to
me,
because
I
think
there's
this
continued
perception
that
the
library
is
closed
and
yet
we're
doing
a
fairly
brisk
business.
E
We're
letting
in
a
handful
of
people
at
a
time
to
use
those
computers
and-
and
that's
really
been
steadily
used,
we're
at
capacity
more
often
than
not.
So
that
number
is
rolling
in
curbside
pickups
as
well
going
down
a
bit
the
relevant
numbers.
You
know
we're
seeing
physical
materials
still
tends
to
be
about
a
third
of
our
normal
physical
material
circulation.
E
That
digital
number,
though,
jumped
out
at
me
as
being
particularly
strong
because
with
englewood
public
schools
being
in
a
bit
of
an
unusual
state,
are
tumble
books,
as
I've
talked
about
before
really
boosts
the
numbers
of
our
digital
material
circulation
in
october.
It
was
almost
nothing
there
was,
you
know,
maybe
50
cir
50
of
those
circs
represents
tumble
books,
whereas
in
october
2019
tumblebooks
represented
about
a
third
of
that
number.
So
the
digital
material
circulation
is
continuing
to
be
very,
very
strong.
E
I
think,
hopefully,
at
this
point
representing
a
long-term
change
in
you,
know:
user
behavior,
so
it's
total
circulation
still
about
half
of
what
it
would
normally
be
questions
answered.
Is
our
reference
transaction
number
and
we've
been
we've
been
doing
our
best
to
track
those,
but
we're
actually
redoubling
our
efforts
now
so
you'll,
so
we'll,
hopefully,
have
some
more
detailed
statistics
about
how
many
phone
call
reference
transactions
we're
doing
as
well
as
email
reference
transactions
with
the
launch
of
the
kids
next
reads
service.

I
know
the
children's
team
is
doing
a
ton
of
book
recommendations
for
people
which
will
be
reflected
in
those
statistics
in
coming
months,
and
then
you
see
the
internet
computer
usage,
so
644
of
those
1500
visits
were
people
coming
in
to
use
the
computers
program
numbers
that
that
represents
a
combination
of
virtual
and
in-person.
With
this
being
october,
we
had
some
halloween
programs
that
were
really
well
attended.
So
thank
you
to
anyone
who
came
out
with
to
those.

I
know
the
children's
team
had
a
lot
of
fun
being
able
to
do
that
on
the
in
the
green
and
then
young
adult
programs.
We
have
27
attendees
compared
to
eight
in
2019,
so
hey
one
category
that
actually
has
gone
up
like
I'll
take
it.
The
children's
team
has
worked
really
hard
to
maintain
relationships
with
the
teen
and
tween
audience
and
to
continue
to
you
know,
is
to
have
programming
and
build
up
a
core
group.
That's
attended
it!

So
I
you
know
every
little
success
there
is
worth
celebrating
and
then
our
adult
programs.
We
did
really
well
in
october,
largely
on
a
couple
of
staff
members,
angie,
candelaria
and
jordan.
Farmer
put
together,
take
and
mate
kits
related
to
dia
de
los
muertos
and
those
were
really
popular,
so
those
numbers
largely
represent
the
dia
de
los
muertos
taken
makes
as
well
as
some
of
our
virtual
programs
the
revenues
we
didn't
deposit,
any
revenue
so
that
that
should
be
a
zero
rather
than
a
you
know,
an
empty
field
at
the
bottom.

I
have
two
quick
questions
on
it.
One
the
virtual
visitors
is
concerning
still
it's
like
it's
continuing
to
go
down,
even
though
I
would
assume
it
would
be
going
up
currently.
So
I
wasn't
sure
if
there
was
a
reason
for
that
and
then
does
the
21
000
sort
of
net
whole
compared
to
last
year.
How
is
it
affecting
your
budget
at
all.

Let's
see
21
thousand
dollar,
oh
the
revenue.
Oh,
you
know
revenues
for
us.
It's
such
a
small
line
compared
to
our
expenditures
that
we
haven't
really
felt
that
okay
and
we've
saved
at
least
a
hundred
thousand
dollars
in
staff's
staff
salaries
in
terms
of
being
slow
to
fill
vacant
positions.
I
know
we're
looking
at
in
these
last
couple
weeks
of
the
year
here,
trying
to
make
sure
we're
spending
through
our
budget
categories
so
financially
or
in
terms
of
our
budget.

Well,
you
know
this
was
tough.
I
mean
people
are
our
holds,
are
pretty
good,
so
it's
just
less
catalog
activity
and
I'm
not
exactly
sure
why,
given
that
we
are
actually
seeing
more
holds
than
we
would
normally
see.
So
it's
yeah.
That's
that's
an
interesting
one.
I
don't
have
a
good
explanation.
I
guess.

think
that's

good

We've
been
very
cautious
this
year
with
just
covet
and
budget
shortfalls,
and
so
the
library
did
an
amazing
job
functioning
at
the
staffing
levels
they
had.
So
that
could
be
a
really
great
option.
That
might
be
something
we
should
talk
to
communications
about
see
what
we
can
do
to
do.

couple
pushes
before
the
end
of
the
year,

During
normal
times,
we
have
20
computers
active
for
you

12
hours
a
day
or
10
hours
a
day

time
somebody
logs

one
of
those
computers
and
opens
up
a
web
browser.
It
goes
to
angular.marmot.org
and
so
there's
actually
probably
a
lot
of
traffic.
That's
just
coming
from
the
use
of
the
public.

think
the
most
worthwhile
thing
to
compare
there
might
be
the
traffic
on
the
city
page.
It's
like
year
to
year
like
the
and
the
english.gov
library
part
of
it,
and
that
one
I'd
have
to
I'd
have
to
look
it's.
Let
me
bookmark
that
I'll,
maybe
I'll
try
to
report
out
on
that
next
month.

just

to
pull
up
the
google
analytics
and
see
it's

first
update
is
under
increased
awareness,
the
library
throughout
the
community,
just
kind
of
checking
that
you
know
we're
doing
the
email
newsletter.
I
think
you
probably
would
have
received
the
first
two.
Now
the
library
ledger,
it's
called.
We
have
matt
brodis.
One
of
our
staff.
Members
is
has
kind
of
taken
that
as
his
personal
project,
and
I
think,
he's
doing
a
great
job
with
it.

But
this
is
an
area
where
andy's
suggestion
might
be
really
relevant
under
the
increased
awareness,
the
library
throughout
the
community.
You
know
anything
we
can
do
to
promote
what
services
we
have
on
offers
is
really
worthwhile
in
there.

trouble

the
document

I
just

I
mentioned,
began
virtual
evening
story
time.
This
was
so
kimberly
had
the
thought
of
the
kids
are
back
in
school
she's
getting
in
the
habit
of
doing
these
virtual
story
times.
Why
not
do
an
evening
story
time
to
reach
out
to
the
kids
who
are
old
enough,
that
they
have
that
they
go
to
school
during
the
day,
and
so
they
can't
attend
weekday
story
times
at
the
library
and
so
she's
tried
it
out,
and
she
says
that
the
attendance
so
far
it's
hard
to
judge
on
facebook
live.

You
can
see
how
many
people
are
viewing
while
you
are
active,
but
you
know
you're
not
seeing
if
it's
one
fan,
if
it's
a
whole
family
logged
in
or
if
it's
just
one
kid
watching,
and
then
you
also,
she
says
it's
hard
to
see
how
many
people
then
watch
it
after
it's
been
posted.
But
her
estimation
is
that
the
attendance
is
roughly
the
same
as
her
daytime
story
times,
so
she
feels
that
that's
been
pretty
successful,
so
I
thought
that
was
a
cool,
innovative
thing.

So
we're
still
using
that
room
currently
for
quarantining
incoming
library,
courier
materials.
But
we've
started
the
purchase
of
the
furniture
and
the
fixtures
that
we'll
need
we're,
hoping
to
get
the
room
painted
because
right
now
it's
just
the
the
standard.
The
beige
walls
and
we'd
like
to
get
some
little
more
pops
of
color
in
there.
But
that's
gonna,
you
know,
probably
be
the
big,
the
biggest
challenge
timeline
wise
for
making
that
you
know
what
we
want
it
to
be.

We
we're
looking
at
the
local
history
section
that
we
have,
which
is
at
the
back
of
the
non-fiction
collection,
it's
kind
of
tucked
away
into
a
corner.
We
think
it's
important,
but
it's
something
that
kind
of
gets
a
little
overlooked
and
it
had
this
very
library,
specific
problem
where
all
those
books
are
labeled
as
just
standard
non-fiction.
They
have
a
dewey
number
on
them.

There's
no
other
indicator
that
their
local
history,
and
so
when
they
would
circulate
they'd
come
back
and
then
staff
wouldn't
recognize
that
they
need
to
go
back
to
the
local
history
section,
so
very
low,
very
low
tech,
pro
low
tech
problem
in
a
low
tech
solution.
We
just
we're
getting
some
stickers
to
slap
on
them,
so
that
we'll
know
those
are
the
local
history
books
put
them
back
in
the
local
history
section
and
then
the
also
on
the
low
tech
front.

The
microfiche
machine
had
broken
down
to
the
point
it's
still
functional,
but
it
wasn't
allowing
you
to
print
so
you'd
be
able
to
find
the
find
the
document
you're.
Looking
for
but
then
people
were
having
to
snap
screenshots
of
of
it
with
their
phone,
and
we
were
able
for
just
a
couple
hundred
bucks
to
get
it
back
up
and
running
and
get
the
whole
machine
cleaned
and
ready
to
go
again,
and
so
that's
pretty
cool.
We
feel
really
good
about
having
that
thing
back
in
better
shape.

an
adventure,
so
our
the
vendor
that
we
reached
out
to
that
was
able
to
actually
help
us
was
based
out
of
new
jersey
of
all
places,
and
so,
if
this
is
all
michelle
branstetter
who
was
running
late
on
this
and
figuring
it
out,
and
so
she
was
describing
it
to
me
and
they're,
just
like
well
they're
going
to
fly
somebody
out
and
then
they're
going
to
you
know
do
this
and
I'm
like
this
isn't
worth
anybody?

somebody

thing,
but
then
they
were

Digitize
we
did
not,
and
but
it's
something
we
talked
about,
but
we
what
we're
going
to
do
is
we're
going
to
start
with
an
inventory
of
what
we
have
and
then
determine
how
much
of
that
is
available
through
sources
that
have
already
been
digitized
and
so
that
we
can
compare
like.
Is
it
worth
digitizing,
you
know
digitizing
your
own,
or
is
it
worth
getting
access
to
a
database
that
has
that
stuff
digitized
already?

I
think
it's
it's
a
matter
of
like
we
were
with.
This
was
almost
the
moment
we
retired
the
microfiche
machine
if
it
hadn't
been
just
about
like
a
two
three
hundred
dollar
repair.
I
told
michelle
if
it's
anywhere
in
the
ballpark
of
six
of
four
figures,
I'm
done
so
yeah
it
narrowly
escaped.
It
nearly
had
a
stay
of
execution.
This
time
around.

yeah,
it's
kind
of
like
I
said
where
michelle
has
a
whole
plan
for
how
to
approach
that
one,
so
they're
sure
there'll
be
more
to
sound
as
soon
this
is
about
the
marmot
digital
archive.
I
checked
in
with
celine
since
she's,
so
this
is
basically
taking
this
large
collection
of
historical
photos
that
we
have
speaking
of
digitization.

We
have
a
grant
that
helps
fund
this,
but
right
now
the
bottleneck
is
that
celine,
our
technical
services
supervisor
is
the
person
who
has
subject
matter,
expertise
on
it,
she's
been
making
steady
progress
on
it,
but
she
has
a
lot
of
other
responsibilities
as
well.
It
was
only
earlier
this
year
that
she
became
a
supervisor.
Previously
she
was
doing
her
job
full-time
and
not
without
any
supervisory
responsibilities,
and
so
we've
really
leaned
on
her
to
be
one
of
the
library's
supervisors.

So,
in
order
to
help
speed
this
one
along
we've
got
a
couple
of
we've
got
four
new
staff
members
who
started
within
the
last
week.
We're
hoping
we
think
one
or
two
of
them
might
be
a
good
candidate
for
helping
this
project
out.
But
you
know
celine's
got
to
take
time
to
get
them
trained
up
to
make
sure
that
we're
not
incorrectly
tagging
and
in
ways
that
you
know
make
it
a
big
mess
for
somebody
later
to
have
to
untangle.
We
want
to
write
the
you
know.
First
go
through.

Just
because
we
haven't
with
with
offering
limited
services,
we
haven't
had
a
need
to
fill
those
positions
about
late
september,
early
october,
we
identified
that
we
were
really
moving
towards
brand
reducing
browsing
trying
to
reopen
the
library.
This
was
when
things
were.
Look,
you
know,
coped
numbers
were
looking
a
little
bit
better
and
we
were
feeling
good
about
our
position,
and
so
we
decided
it
was
time
to
to
fill
those
positions.
So
we,
the
most
of
them,
were
filled
as
standard
library
associate
positions
which
is
our
20-hour.
E
You
know
the
the
sort
of
jack-of-all-trades
sort
of
position
we
did
choose
to
hire
one
or
two
of
them
as
a
security
associate.
So
this
is
event.
You
know
this
is
our
way
of
prototyping.
I
mentioned
this
a
couple
of
months
ago,
moving
away
from
the
contract
security
that
we
use
and
moving
towards
having
that
in-house,
where
you
know
for
small
day-to-day
safety
and
security
issues.
So
we
have
just
a
library
staff
member
handling
those
things
rather
than
contract
security.
So
we
did
hire
one
person
for
that
position.

We
we
interviewed
five
or
six
weren't,
feeling
super
great
about
some
of
our
candidates.
Some
were
on
the
cusp,
but
just
didn't
seem
like
quite
the
right
fit
at
this
time
and
then
for
the
associates.
We
had
a
ton
of
applicants
and
we
found
some
really
wonderful
people
so,
like
I
said,
we've
got
four
of
the
six
positions
filled
now
and
we're
just
kind
of
we're
gonna
be
later
this
week
to
figure
out
what
we
want
to
do
about
the
last
two.

We
did
another
round
of
interviews
last
week,
we've
got
strong
applicants,
so
I
think
we
could
easily
fill
those
last
two
positions
with
the
applicants
that
are,
you
know,
we're
still
reviewing,
but
we're
kind
of
trying
to
decide
whether
we
want
to
fill
the
second.
Basically,
one
of
those
two
positions
as
a
security
associate,
which
would
probably
mean
reposting
the
position
so
that
that's
where
we're
at.

seeing

different
character
of
the
applicants
that
you
get

you
post
a
security

versus

sort

one
of
the
people
who
just

said
we
brought
the

hires
on
we've
been
getting
them
trained

The
goal
was
to
reintroduce
in-person
browsing.

think

goal

person
browsing
as
soon
as
possible
and
we'd
set
a
target
date
of
november
16th.

know
we,
like
I
said:
we've
we
hired
a
bunch
of
new
people
in
the
last
or
those
new
people
were
able
to
start
within
the
last
week.
We
hired
them.
You
know
a
while
back.

We
can
easily
stay
below
that
and
and
allow
people
back
in
to
check
out
their
holds
to
browse
the
collection
to
do
to
get
library
cards.
That
sort
of
thing
the
the
city
of
englewood
has
asked
us
to
try
to
reduce
in-person
staffing,
and
then
that's
just
they.
You
know
this
was
a
city-wide.
You
know,
guidance
of
you
know
if
you
have
people
who
can
work
from
home,
send
them
home
part
of
the
public
health
guidance
under
the
orange
color
of
the
safer
at
home
dial.

I
I'm
getting
so
mixed
up
with.
What's
what
anymore?
What
used
to
be
level
three
and
is
now
called
orange
is
to
have
your
office
staff
at
25
of
what
it
would
normally
be.
We
don't
you
know,
because
we
are
front
line
because
we're
more
like
retail,
we're
kind
of
operating
under
more
like
the
retail
style
guidance.

We
are
trying
to
be
conscious
of
not
having
more
staff
than
we
need
on
any
given
day
in
the
in
the
library
which
is
difficult
when
you're
trying
to
train
people
and
kind
of
helps
to
be
able
to
head
all
around
a
computer.
But
you
know
we're
trying
to
be
really
cautious
and
we're
certainly
seeing
you
know,
spikes
in
the
community
and
it's
it's.
It's
affected
the
library.
It's
affected
everybody
at
this
point.
So
right
now
we're
still
doing
curbside.
We
are
letting
people
in
to
use
the
public
computers.

The
hope
is
to
start
letting
people
in
just
to
be
able
to
come
in
instead
of
having
to
call
and
have
somebody
bring
their
holds
out
to
them
just
come
on
into
the
library
and
grab
their
holds
just
be
able
to
come
in
and
browse
the
collection,
and
we
can
do
that
with
you
know
limits
we.
Basically,
you
know
we
have
the
guard
brittany
most
days,
who's
our
guard
with
the
contract
security
who
works
the
door
for
us
and
she
kind
of
monitors.
How
many
people
want
to
use
the
computers?

We
could
just
change
the
number.
Let
people
into
browse
the
collection,
but
then
the
challenge
is.
We
have
more
points
that
we
need
to
clean.
We
have
more
service
points
that
we
need
to
make
sure
and
we've
done.
A
lot
of
this
work
already
are
sort
of
set
up
in
a
way
that
protects
the
staff
member
we've.
You
know,
we've
ordered
a
lot
of
the
equipment
that
we
need
to
do
this
successfully
already,
including
an
indoor
book
return.
That's
not
just
the
circulation
desk.

We
didn't
want
people
constantly
approaching
the
circulation
just
just
to
return
books
like
they
used
to
we've
got
a
separate
like
a
stan,
freestanding
indoor
book,
return
that
we'll
be
able
to
use.
We
got
extra
carts
that
we
can
put
throughout
the
library
for
people
to
return
materials.
If
they
pick
up
books
decide
they
don't
want
them,
it's
a
place
for
those
to
go
so
we've.
You
know,
we've
been
doing
the
work
of
prepping
for
all
this,
and
now
it's
just
that
moment
of
okay.

Here
we
go
and
things
are,
things
are
in
really
bad
shape
in
colorado.
So,
like
I
said
that
we've
been
looking
at
public
health
guidance,
we've
also
been
looking
at
what
are
our
neighbors
doing
in
reaction
to
this?
So
when
jefferson
county
moved
to
orange
a
week
or
two
ago,
they
decided
to
end
the
in-person
services
that
they
were
offering
and
go
to
curbside.
Only
and
then
after
announcing
that
to
the
public
and
making
the
changes.

Bemis
is
following
what
jefferson
county
is
doing,
so
bemis
is
relevant
because
they're
they're,
also
in
arapahoe
county,
so
they're
moving
through
the
same
tchd.
The
trade
county,
health
department's
recommendations
right
alongside
us,
so
they're
gonna
continue
to
be
open
for
the
in-person
services
that
they're
offering
arapaho
libraries.
Probably
you
know,
obviously
the
biggest
library
system
in
arapahoe
county
is
going
to
be
moving
to.
E
Curbside
only
is
my
understanding,
I
don't
know
if
that's
been
publicly
announced
yet,
but
that's
what
we've
seen
from
some
internal
communications
or
some.
You
know
other
communications,
not
a
100
sure,
that's
the
direction
they'll
ultimately
go,
but
that's
the
indication
that
we've
received,
I
think
we're
at
a
minimum
going
to
hold
steady
with
what
we're
offering
until
we
get
effectively
shut
down.

We
are
also
going
to
try
to
loosen
up
for
things
like
if
somebody
comes
in.
They
just
want
to
get
a
library
card.
We've
already
been.
You
know
we'll
find
a
way
to
help
you
out
increasingly
we're
just
trying
to
find
ways
to
create
good
customer
service
experiences
for
anybody
who
comes
to
the
library
instead
of
having
to
turn
people
away.
But
the
question
I
think
at
this
point
is
just:
do
we
offer
in-person
browsing
like
walk-in
browsing
and
do
we
do
we
start
to
publicize
that?

Do
we
try
to
draw
attention
to
the
fact
that
we're
offering
that,
because
I
think,
there's
a
difference
between
a
person,
you
know
a
person
walks
into
the
north
says:
hey.
Can
I
can
I
look
at
the
books
yeah
come
on
and
look
at
the
books
versus
sending
the
newsletter
announcement
to
10
000
people
being
like
come
on
in
so
that's
that's
kind
of
where
we're
at
and
christina.
I
don't
know
if
you
want
to
add
anything
to
those
thoughts.

Yeah,
it's
a
little
unfortunate
to
the
fact
that
the
library
has
been
gearing
up
by
hiring
the
new
staff
and
getting
policies
and
procedures
in
place
for
reopening
and
then
like.
The
breaks
are
starting
to
hit
again
with
the
kobit
ramping
back
up,
and
so
it's
a
tough.
It's
almost
harder
this
time
around
to
make
decisions
because
of
where
we've
been
and
where
we've
gone
through
and
now
where
we're
headed.

so
I
think
every
day
is
gonna
change
a
little
bit
and
potentially
some
different
guidance
may
come
out,
but
I
think,
as
of
right
now
we
just
take

studio

one

rooms

about

logistics.

just
wondered
like
how
would
it
work
and
youtube
for
a
while,
if
they're
still
doing
it,

they
set
up
studios
in
every
major
city
that

you
had
enough
followers,
you
could
sort
of
apply
to
their
studio
and
then
you
could
go
in
and
use
their
facility
for
your
casting,
and
I
think
it
could
be
a
really
powerful
tool
for
the
community.

know
the
the
setup
for
a
podcast
webcast
studio
is
a
barrier
especially
for
younger
people,
for
older
people
for
everybody,
and
I
think
it
could
really
serve
our
community
to
have
a
place
that
is
sort
of
up
and
running
where
they
could
come
and
broadcast
out
to
the
community.
Gardening
tips
cooking
whatever
whatever
and
it
wouldn't
just
serve
our
community,
but
it
would
actually
they'd
be
able
to
impact
all
over
the
world
because
it's
there's
no
boundaries,
so
I
think
it
could
be
really
powerful
and
I'd
be
open
to
exploring
that.

studios
recording
studios

libraries

previous

that's
familiar
territory,
it's
something

As
a

I
indicated
earlier
rewriting
some
of
the
remaining
budget
for
the
year,
and
there
is
definitely
part
of
me
is
like
time
for
microphones
and
yeah
computer
equipment
is
managed

little
bit
of

notes

jotted

them
includes
community
members,
depending
on
what
kind
of
demand
there
is
for
it.

quarterly

then
being
allocated
hours,
so
they
could
come
in
whenever,
but
they
have
like
an
allocated
number
of
hours
and
if
we
did
do
it
that
way,
there
could
be
like
a
selection
process,
and
then
there
could
be
a
standard
of
content
too.

the
idea
of
doing
that,
because
you
know,
I
think,
there's
something
there's
a
necessary
step
in
you

People
can
create
content,
there's

lot
of
content
creation
in
the
world
these
days,
but
there's
not
like

there's
a
disproportionality
between
the
content
that
was
created
in
the
the
available
audience,
so
anything
that
we
can
do
is
people
in
the
community
are
making
things
to
connect
them
to
an
audience.
