right
in,
as
you
mentioned,
share
I.t
deputy
director
jeremy
king
is
with
us
he'll,
be
assisting
if
any
questions
come
up,
that
that
requires
some
some
I.t
expertise
beyond
my
knowledge,
so
scada
systems
are
used
to
remotely
monitor
and
control
critical
operations,
equipment,
they're,
really
the
brains
behind
the
equipment.
Allow
operators
to
to
see
real
time
what's
actually
happening
through
displays
and
make
necessary
operational
adjustments.

This
software
is
operated
through
a
computer
system.
The
system
we're
currently
using
are
housed
within
two
desktop
computers
that
reside
in
the
control
room
at
the
island
water
treatment
plant.
So
the
recommendation
before
you
today
is
to
is
to
replace
the
existing
desktop
computers
with
a
virtual
server.
Now,
there's
several
issues
with
the
current
arrangement
that
we
have
with
those
with
those
two
desktop
computers
that
put
the
city
at
risk.

One
is
it's
local
storage,
if
anything
were
to
incapacitate
the
the
control
room
or
access
to
the
computers
we'd
be
unable
to
to
to
use
the
scada
system
to
operate
the
plant
and
and
pump
stations.
There
is
no
routine
internal
backup
system.
If
the
software
to
go
down,
it
would
be
very
difficult
to
to
reboot
the
system
to
back
to
its
current
state
and
there's
poor
data
recoverability
and
there's
limited
access
by
city
staff.
It's
basically
a
physical
access
to
the
to
those
detect.
Those
two
desktop
computers.

So
this
is
a
picture
on
the
left
of
those
two
computers.
That's
currently
where
our
status
system
is
housed.
Above
those
computers,
you
can
see
the
the
actual
display
monitors
and
on
the
right
is
what
that
that
new
virtual
server
will
look
like
that's
actually
one
of
our
servers.
That's
currently
housed
in
the
civic
center,
so
we'll
decide
the
best
location
for
that.

For
that
new
server,
it
could
either
be
here
at
the
island
plan
or
we
could
decide
to
put
it
at
the
civic
center,
but
wherever
we
put
it,
it
would
provide
those
same
benefits
again.
We
would.
We
would
set
the
system
up
to
have
very
secure
access
for
those
select
city
staff
that
need
access
to
it
and
set
up
appropriate
firewalls
to
prevent
folks
that
shouldn't
be
accessing
the
information
from
being
able
to
so
share
that.
That
concludes
my
staff
presentation.

current
design
we
will
on
these
servers.
They
have
redundant
power
supplies
on
these
on
these
servers
and
then
these
serv
and
these
servers
they
would
be
plugged
into
separate
circuits
with
the
electrical.

we
would
have

sitting
on
on
the
all.
The
servers
would
be
sitting
on
the
ups
right
now.

security
issues

mentioned
the
firewall.

seems
like
the
disadvantage
of
this
new
setup.

outside

attacks

all
entities
now
face

digital

have
to

analyze
the
risks,

those
are

mitigate

risks

availability

nobody

get
into
those
scada
to
the
ics
system.

institutes
of
standards

secure
your
scada
systems
and

everybody

be
handling
how
they
digitally
secure
that
so
we're
following
that
guide
of
what
we
can
do.
I
mean
we're,
not
a
nuclear
facility,
so
we
don't
have
to
go
really
into
the
details
of
what
they
do,
but
we
do
have
to
secure
those
systems
and
make
sure
that
the
appropriate
access
is.

equipment

one
in

we
let's

here-
is
our
presentation
on
city
ditch,
so
we
started
up
our
city
ditch.
Let
me
show
you
the
dates
right
on
last
wednesday
and
thursday,
so
the
seventh
and
the
eighth.
Typically,
we
start
up
the
ditch
on
april
1st,
the
beginning
of
irrigation
season.
But
due
to
the
weather,
we
decided
to
push
it
a
week.

few

ditch
related
engineering
and
water
resources,
information
to
share
with
the
board,
and
the
first
is
exactly
what
what
angela
mentioned
is
is
related
to
a
data
collection
tool
that
was
developed
to
support
asset
management
or
water
resources
decision
making.
It's
a
good
good
system.
Data
supports
smart
replacement
planning.
It
supports
operational
decision
making.
It
supports
trending
over
time,
as
we
continue
to
deploy
this
tool
in
in
future
years.

During
our
our
startup
and
as
angela
mentioned
one
of
the
one
of
the
operational
adjustments
that
we're
looking
at
this
year
would
move
more
water
through
the
ditch.
So
as
part
of
this
year's
startup,
we
did
a
a
a
live
hydraulic
floor
test,
and
so
it
to
support
that
flow
test
and
to
support
identifying
problem
areas
from
a
condition
assessment
standpoint.

From
a
debris
accumulation
standpoint,
a
tool
was
developed
through
an
application
called
survey123,
which
is
gis
based,
and
I
want
to
acknowledge
stephanie
ellis,
who
played
a
really
important
part
of
the
development
of
that
tool.
That's
actually
her
collecting
data
in
the
picture
on
the
right
on
the
ditch
and
miles
mcreynold,
the
city's
gis
support
staff
to
develop
this
tool.

is
our
first
time
using
it
and
it
and
and
I'd
like
to
report
that
or
I
I
will
report
that
that
it
worked
great,
and
so
this
data
collection
tool
can
either
work
on
city
issued
phones
or
tablets,
and
what
allows
us
to
do
is
to
geo
locate
document,
important,
ditch,
information
and,
and
perhaps
most
importantly
is
take.
Pictures
pictures
can
be
really
powerful
when
we
want
to
trend
things
or
or
really
capture
a
snapshot
of
a
current
state
of
a
system.

However,
all
of
the
shareholders
rights
come
from
denver
water,
so
those
shareholders
are
are
paying
down
for
water,
for
the
water
and
they're
paying
the
city
of
englewood
for
the,
for
the
o
m
are
reimbursing
us
for
their
for
their
prorated
share
of
the
o
m.
So,
as
we
explored
how
we've
historically
made
this
calculation,
we
realized
that
there's
an
unallocated
share
of
13
cfs
at
denver
waters,
unallocated
share
of
13
cfs
that's
gone
into.

Typically,
we
will
put
a
diffuser
on
the
fire
hydrant
nozzle
to
which
is
not
shown
on
this
picture
to
restrict
flow
and
direct
it
away
from
both
properties
and
traffic,
and
then
it
also
gives
us
the
ability
to
remove
the
chlorine
from
the
treated
water
before
it
makes
its
way
into
our
storm
sewers,
and
we
we
did
fi
fire
hydrant
flushing.
We
started
yesterday
and
we're
anticipating
going
all
the
way.
Through
friday
we
actually
split
the
cruise.

The
carpet
got
a
little
bit
wet
inside
their
building,
and
so
we
called
our
restoration
company
right
away
and
had
them
go
out
on
site
to
inspect
the
damage
and
then
also
confer
with
the
business
owner
and
I'm
happy
to
report
that
the
carpet
didn't
need
to
be
removed
or
replaced.
They
just
put
a
bunch
of
fans
on
it
to
dry
it
out
and
so
far
the
business
owner
was
happy
and
it
was
a
minimal
impact
for
for
some
water
that
got
into
into
that
business.

that's
all
the
kind
of
stuff
that
we
try
to
avoid
that
we're
tightening
up
our
procedures
for
how
we
do
things.
So
we
we
generally
have
folks
walk
where
the
water
is
going
to
make
sure
that
it's
going
where
we
think
we
think
it's
going
and
again
those
diffusers
definitely
help
because
it
slows
the
water
down
and
then
it
directs
it.
And
I
don't
know
if
folks
remember
the
curb
and
gutter
improvements
that
were
done
last
year
and
as
part
of
that,
we
installed
a
lot
more
handicap
ramps.

the
monthly
billing
transition
to,
we
have
sent
out
the
first
round
of
monthly
bills
to
customers
that
the
flat
rate
customers
who
received
a
bill
on
april
1st
would
be
the
first
group
of
people
that
received
a
monthly
billing.
Everybody
else
is
still
in
progress,
and
but
we
are
doing
monthly
reads
now.

last
week
was

first
week
and
first
day,

so
we're
fully
staffed
there
we're
finding
that,
through
optimization
and
efficiencies
incorporated
into
the
route
reading
that
were
able
to
accomplish
the
monthly
reads
with
the
staffing
that

already
allocated
for
field
services,
and
so
that
seems
to
be
going
well
and
you
should
have
all
received
a
a
flyer
in
the
mail
that
was
similar
to
something
that
we
that
we
discussed
here.
