A
I'm
Edmisten
city
manager,
Wally
Bob,
quit
so
welcome
to
this
edition
of
Evanston
spotlight,
where
we
talk
about
items
coming
up
before
the
Evanston
City
Council
for
their
next
meeting
coming
up
on
Monday,
March,
18th
and
I'm
joined
today
by
assistant
city
manager,
Erica
story,
Erica
welcome.
Thank
you.
One
of
the
big
issues
on
the
agenda
coming
up
on
Monday
is
the
robber
crown
project
and
you're
the
city's
main
manager
of
the
project.
So
how
is
it
going
well.
B
B
There's
a
music
room,
a
dance
room,
a
culinary
area
where
we
be
able
to
expand
some
programming
around
food
and
proper
food
prep,
and
then
there's
a
host
of
multi-purpose
rooms
for
all
kinds
of
different
programming
that
is
currently
under
way
at
the
center
and
that
yet
to
be
imagined
so
we'll
be
able
to
expand
the
offerings
as
well
as
all
pertaining
all
the
existing
classes
and
events
that
were
always
held
there.
So.
A
The
project
about
54
million
dollars,
I
think,
is
the
overall
project
to
construct
the
new
building,
as
well
as
to
demolish
the
existing
building
and
then
build
new
sports
fields.
I
know:
we've
been
doing
some
fundraising
talk
about
the
fundraising,
how
successful
we've
been
and
who's
helping
us
with
that
sure.
B
So
the
city
is
partnered,
with
the
Friends
of
rubber
crown
Center
to
help
with
the
fundraising.
So
far,
the
Friends
of
rubber
crown
have
raised
over
12
million
dollars
towards
the
project,
which
is
amazing.
That
will
dramatically
reduce
the
amount
of
money
that
the
residents
will
have
to
pay
for
the
facility,
and
we
expect
yet
five
million
of
that
money
this
year
and
a
million
next
year.
