A
Hi
I'm
Evan
city
manager,
Wally
Bob
coats
and
welcome
to
this
edition
of
Evanston
spotlight
where
we
talk
about
upcoming
items
before
the
Evanston
City
Council.
Their
next
meeting
is
coming
up
on
Monday,
April,
15th
and
I'm
joined
today
by
Johanna
Leonard,
our
director
of
community
development
and
Johanna.
One
of
the
things
we're
talking
about
on
April
15th
is
the
City
Council's
goals.
A
The
council
has
decided
for
the
first
time
in
a
few
years
to
do
with
two-year
goals,
19
and
20,
and
so
we've
been
talking
with
the
City
Council
at
several
meetings
about
these
goals.
You're
responsible
for
the
community
development
and
job
creation
goal
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
what
that
goal
is
all
about
and
what
you
plan
to
talk
about
with
the
council
on
Monday
night.
So.
B
Wages
means
you
can
pay
for
things
that
help.
Somebody
live
their
lives,
whether
it's
residing
at
home,
paying
for
childcare
transportation,
all
those
things
they
come
together
as
one
bundle,
so
those
are
all
tied
together
and
and
then
unpacking
that.
So
we
can
look
at
what
local
government
does
what
the
city
of
Evanston
can
do
to
improve
those
things,
and
then
that
guides
our
work
over
the
next
two
years
to
help
meet
those
goals.
So.
A
B
So
Parks
Recreation
commuters
have
some
of
the
job
work.
The
job
creation,
the
youth,
adult
division
works
with
helping
young
people
find
jobs.
They
also
have
worked
with
the
senior
population.
So
that's
another
piece:
how
do
well
are
we
aging
in
place?
We
also
have
the
Health
Department
Health
and
Human
Services
Department
having
home,
having
access
to
good
quality
transportation,
a
job.
B
Those
are
all
things
that
promote
healthy
individuals
and
and
these
we
want
to
try
to
recognize
all
those
things
are
linked
together,
also
working
with
the
city,
manager's
office
and
our
sustainability
efforts
and
how
those
tie
in
so
when
we
try
to
get
somebody
home
and
better
jobs
and
exits
transportation.
Are
we
doing
that
in
the
way
that's
the
most
sustainable
and
best
for
our
overall
environment?
So.
A
The
City
Council
on
Monday
night
will
be
talking
a
little
bit
more,
not
only
about
Community,
Development
and
job
creation,
but
we'll
also
be
talking
about
how
we
measure
our
results
for
this
and
also
how
we
implement
equity
in
the
city.
