A
Hi
I'm
evidence,
city
manager,
Wally
Bobcats,
and
welcome
to
this
edition
of
Evanston
spotlight
where
we
talk
about
upcoming
items
on
the
Evanston
City
Council
agenda
on
on
the
Evanston
City
Council's
next
agenda,
Monday
September
23rd
is
a
little
bit
of
a
bittersweet
item
for
me
and
that
is
the
approval
of
a
contract
for
a
interim
city
manager
and
Erica
story.
Who's.
The
assistant
city
manager,
is
with
me
Erica.
Congratulations!
You!
The
council
has
appointed
you
to
be
the
interim
city
manager.
So
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
yourself.
B
Thank
You
Wally
I
have
been
working
for
the
city
of
Evanston,
almost
15
years
now,
I
started
out
in
2004
and
it's
been
a
steady
stream
of
challenges
and
opportunities
and
I've
been
able
to
learn
and
grow
and
been
able
to
help
work
on
some
really
great
initiatives
for
the
city
and
I.
Look
forward
to
continuing
on
that
path.
So.
A
B
I
think
I
can
provide
a
study
hand
to
guide
us
through
this
transition.
Transitions
are
a
time
of
opportunity
and
triumph,
so
I
think
that
having
a
seasoned
veteran
like
myself
and
the
rule
will
help
the
community
and
the
council
move
forward
on
initiatives,
while
also
doing
the
national
search
for
the
next
city
manager.
So.
A
B
So
certainly
affordable
housing
will
continue
to
be
one
of
the
number-one
topics,
we're
going
to
be
doing
the
two-year
budget
and
that
will
come
out
on
October
4th.
So
that
will
be
a
topic
that
we'll
be
discussing
over
the
net
course
in
the
next
few
months,
and
then
you
know,
Evanston
is
full
of
a
lot
of
important
initiatives
that
I
want
to
continue
to
move
forward.
The
reparations
all
of
the
good
work,
the
equity
and
empowerment
Commission
is
doing,
and
you
know
the
variety
of
initiatives
coming
from
all
of
our
other
community
committees
as
well.
B
A
B
My
kids
very
much
enjoy
the
new
fountain
square
fountain
and
we
like
riding
our
bikes
to
the
various
parks
we
enjoy
being
outside
in
this
community.
Lets
us
do
that
year-round,
even
though
it
gets
cold
in
the
winter.
We
still
enjoy
sledding
and
things
like
that.
So
it's
a
great
place
to
live
and
I
feel
lucky
to
be
able
to
work
here
and
live
here.
Great.
A
So,
coming
up
on
the
Monday
September
23rd
council
agenda
will
be
the
approval
of
a
contract
with
the
interim
city
manager.
This
is
my
last
edition
of
Evanston
spotlight
I'll,
be
leaving
as
eveson
city
manager
on
the
27th
to
become
the
city
administrator
in
Issaquah,
Washington
I.
Hope
these
programs
a
bit
of
interest
to
you
best
wishes
in
the
future.
I'm
Wally
popplets.
