A
Hi
I'm
having
to
the
city
manager,
Wally,
Bob
quits,
and
welcome
to
this
edition
of
Evanston
spotlight
where
we
preview
items
on
the
upcoming
Evanston,
City,
Council
agenda
and
honor.
Their
upcoming
meeting
on
Monday
August
5th
will
be
the
only
meeting
that
the
City
Council
is
planning
on
having
her
in
the
month
of
August.
A
So
we're
calling
it
council
Palooza
we're
combining
a
city
council
meeting
our
Human
Services
Committee
and
our
Rules
Committee
all
into
one
agenda,
and
one
of
the
items
we'll
be
talking
about
is
getting
an
update
from
the
city's
equity
and
empowerment,
Commission
and
I'm
joined
today
by
dr.
Patricia
ium.
Our
chief
equity
officer,
Pat,
welcome
well.
A
B
The
last
couple
of
months
we
have
been
particularly
working
on
Robin
alderman
Robin
Lou
Simmons
brought
the
reparations
resolution
that
she
wanted
us
to
work
on,
so
we've
held
several
sub
community
meetings
around.
That
issue
also
been
working
on
the
framework.
The
overall
framework
that
will
help
us
get
to
a
racial
equity
action
plan
and
that
plan
is
being
worked
on
entirely
by
a
group
of
equity
advocates,
which
are
city
staff,
from
multiple
departments
about
26
staff
members
who
have
been
helping
with
that.
So.
A
B
A
A
So
I
think
she's
looking
at
what
a
raising
about
a
million
dollars
a
year
going
to
City
Council's
having
that
put
into
this
fund
and
then
that
money
invested
in
those
programs,
job
creation,
entrepreneurship,
programs,
I
think
dealing
with
educate
personal
education
as
far
as
life
skills,
economic
skills,
things
like
that,
so
the
work
plan,
we
talk
a
lot
about
work
plans,
one
of
the
things.
What
are
some
of
the
things
in
the
work
plan
that
you
hope
to
accomplish?
Maybe
in
the
last
six
months
of
the
year,
okay,.
B
So
there's
four
areas
that
we're
hoping
to
cover
one
is:
is
equity
and
see
in
city
operations,
equity
and
policies
and
budgeting
equity
in
the
workforce
and
equity
and
community
engagement.
So
those
are
the
areas
that
were
broadly
focused
on
to
see.
How
can
we
approach
those
in
ways
that
are
small
steps,
but
that
will
get
us
through
to
the
end
of
the
year?
We've
actually
made
quite
a
bit
of
taking
quite
a
bit
of
action.
It.
A
Really
never
ends
does
no,
of
course,
not
ease
something.
We
just
have
to
continue
to
focus
on
everything
that
we
do
so
on
Monday,
August
5th,
the
City
Council
will
be
meeting
combining
a
council
meeting
and
two
committee
meetings
all
into
one
agenda,
we'll
be
hearing
from
the
equity,
empowerment,
Commission
and
our
chief
equity
officer,
Pat
FM.
Thank
you
for
joining
us
today.
