A
Hi
I'm
mr.
the
city
manager,
while
I've
opted
quits
and
welcome
to
this
edition
of
Evanston
spotlight
where
we
talk
about
upcoming
items
on
the
Evanston
city
council
agenda
and
the
next
city
council
meeting
on
Monday
September,
the
9th
has
a
lot
of
things
on
it,
but
one
of
the
things
that
has
some
housing
issues
and
Sarah
flax,
our
affordable
housing,
coordinator
grants
and
housing
manager.
I
think
it's
the
right
title.
Wright
is
here
to
talk
about
our
tenant-based
rental
assistant,
which
is
an
item
on
the
agenda
Monday
night,
so
Sarah.
B
Based
rental
assistance
is
a
program
by
which
we
provide
a
housing
and
utilities
stipend
to
families
that
just
cannot
afford
their
rent.
We're
specifically
focused
on
families
that
have
children
in
our
schools
because,
especially
as
we
start
the
school
year,
we
need
to
make
sure
children
and
their
families
are
stable,
housed
so
they're
able
to
succeed
in
school,
just
like
everybody
else
so.
A
B
Is
money
from
our
home
investment
partnerships
grant,
which
is
also
from
the
US
Department
of
Housing
and
Development,
and
it
has
very
very
specific
requirements
like
we
can
only
spend
it
in
this
case
on
the
housing
stipends.
We
couldn't
use
it
for
the
social
services,
for
example.
So
we
are.
Our
collaboration
with
connections,
allows
us
to
provide
both
needed
pieces
to
those
families
and.
