Description
Hollister Airport Advisory Commission Meeting April 28, 2021
C
Item
number
three
introductions
and
roll
call.
E
D
A
C
B
D
Okay,
the
first
item
is
on
the
on
the
airport
designations
and
I
believe
that
there
is
a
handout
in
your
packet
and
that's
actually
from
the
faa,
and
I
there
has
been
some
discussion
on
the
airport
classifications
and
what
they
mean
and
what
they,
what
they
can
get
for.
You-
and
I
know
that
commissioner
starrett
and
I
have
spoken
about
this
before,
because
it
came
up
at
the
airport
edc
meeting,
and
I
think-
and
this
is
the
this-
is
the
handout
I'm
talking
about
and
what
it
does.
D
Is
it
actually
talks
about
the
different
airports,
the
different
size
of
airports
and
what
their
ratings
are
and
what
their
classifications
are
and
page
two
of
this
document
actually
tells
you
what
criteria
you
have
to
meet
to
achieve.
Each
of
these,
each
of
these
levels
of
of
the
airport
designations
and.
D
It
it
appears
that
it's
done
because
we
are
in
nipiss,
which
is
exactly
the
function
that
allows
us
to
get
federal
grants,
but
it
also
means
that
we're
part
of
a
national
network
in
case
of
emergency,
and
I
could
be
wrong,
but
I
think
the
way
that
that
I
am
seeing
this
is
that
they
judge
you.
They
rate
you
based
on
the
criteria
that
you
meet
so
in
case
of
an
emergency.
D
They
know
what
they
can
call
on
you
for,
and
I
could
be
wrong,
so
I
was
hoping
that,
maybe
if
it's,
if
I
can
ask
that,
maybe
we
could
take
a
look
at
this-
I
can
come
back,
but
maybe
we
could
talk
about
it
again
at
the
next
meeting
and
and
see
if
there's
some
other
perspectives
on
on
it.
So
if
this
is
something
that
maybe
we
could
bring
again
next
time,
would
that
be?
Okay,
yes
and
then
of
course,
commissioner
starrett
did
you
want
to
comment
on
that
as
well?.
F
F
C
D
I
can
do
that
too.
Okay,
okay,
the
airport
edc
committee
is
planning
a
trip
to
the
hall.
Excuse
me
to
the
watsonville
regional
airport.
D
It's
like
a
field
trip
and
they
are
a
regional
airport,
we're
rated
as
a
local
airport,
so
it'll
give
us
some
ideas
to
compare
and
contrast
as
to
what
those
mean,
but
it
also
gives
us
a
chance
to
see
a
bigger
airport
to
see
how
it's
run
and
meet
the
staff
over
there
who
have
really
been
outstanding
for
us.
So
it's
a
good
opportunity,
a
strong
interest
and
within
that
committee
I'm
not
sure
how
many
people
are
attending,
but
it
could
be
up
to
12..
D
Oh,
so
when
is
that
meeting
it's
it's
a
tour
of
the
watsonville
regional
airport,
okay,.
D
So
cal
fire
is
working
at
ex
expanding
their
footprint
a
little
bit
they're
wanting
to
renew
their
lease
for
another
five
years
where
they
currently
are
and
they're.
Looking
at
expanding
out
to
the
area,
just
north
of
the
dog
park
of
that
area,
blm
used
to
park
their
vehicles,
there,
we've
relocated
blm
to
a
different
area
at
the
airport,
and
so
cal
fire
is
looking
at
extending
their
proposed
five-year
lease
to
cover
that
entire
area.
Additionally,
they
plan
to
install
a
helicopter
pad
and
where
would
the
helicopter
pad
be?
D
We
don't
have
it
yet
they.
What
they've
done
is
they've
turned
it
into
department
of
general
services
with
the
state,
and
then
it's
going
to
get
it's
it's
going
to
get
sent
to
one
of
their
real
estate
agents.
D
It's
it's
it's
a
component
of
of
that
that
branch,
and
once
they
do
that,
then
we
will
be
sitting
down
with
them
to
discuss
it.
They've
turned
it
in
they're
waiting
to
be
assigned
a
real
estate
agent
and
it's
in
their
real
estate
agent.
It's
it's
a
real
estate
specialist.
It's
not
someone,
that's
necessarily
buying
and
selling
property,
but
it's
somebody
who's
going
to
come
in
and
they'll
meet
with
us
to
talk
about
to
talk
about
the
proposed
lease,
and
I
think
you
know
that
there
has
been
some
discussion
about.
D
F
F
It
would
create
a
big
problem
for
ernie's
hanger
back
there
and
all
the
rest
of
the
rows
and
hangers
along
that
area
with
the
amount
of
stuff
that
they
blow
up
in
the
air.
F
So
I
mean
I,
I
think
anybody
involved
that
airport
doesn't
want
to
see
in
there.
That's
my
opinion.
B
Okay,
I
agree
with
mark
on
that.
That's
that
poor
poor
place,
even
the
the
downwash
from
the
rotors,
is
going
to
reach
the
runway.
You
know
so
for
incoming
traffic
or
whatnot
like
if
it's
a
light
plane,
it
could
be
affected.
You
know
so,
there's
probably
a
better
location
than
that.
B
Place
might
be
north
or
south
more
towards
we're
in
front
of
that
blm
property
right
there.
D
A
D
Okay,
this
is
something
that
I'm
not
familiar
with.
I
did
I
emailed
the
faa,
but
I
just
haven't
heard
back
from
them
yet
so
I'm
wondering
if
we
could
table
this
item
to
next
month.
Sure
yeah.
F
That
was
something
that
mike
had
brought
up
quite
some
time
ago.
Okay-
and
it
just
never
happened,
and
then
I
don't
know
if,
if
it's
really
anything,
we
necessarily
care
about
the
fact
that
at
some
point
it
does
happen,
we
need
to
know
about
it.
D
And
in
your
packets
there's
actually
two
different
documents
and
commissioner
sterritt.
If
we
have
a
place
where
I
can
leave
this
and
if
you
want
to
come
by
the
airport
office
and
pick
up
the
reports
as
well.
D
That
would
be
great.
I
wasn't
sure
how
this
had
been
presented
to
you
in
the
past,
so
I
just
ran
these
reports.
I
ran
them
today,
the
revenues
and
the
expenditures,
and
if
we
want
to
look
at
them-
and
if
we
have
any
questions
that
I
can
answer,
I'd
be
happy
to
do
that.
A
D
D
It
does
it
does
so.
This
really
gives
you
the
better
part
of
nine
months,
10
months
really
of
revenues
and
expenditures.
So
it
gives
you
some
idea
of
you
know
how
we've
maintained
our
budget.
You
know
what
unexpected
things
we
we
encountered
and
there
shouldn't
be
anything
here
that
you
I
mean.
If
you
ask
me,
and
I
don't
know,
I
should
be
able
to
find
out,
because
it's
that
cut
and
dried
the
budget.
A
D
E
A
Would
this
include
acips
or
you
or
just
just
a
little
product.
D
Okay,
well,
I
had
a
list
I
apologize,
but
so
some
of
the
items
that
we
are
working
on-
and
you
know
I
know,
commissioner,
martin,
that
you
asked
about
the
dog
park
last
time
and
I
think
it's
a
valid
thing
to
mention,
because
we
have
people
who
stopped
by
the
office
even
asking
about
that.
D
We've
had
people
trying
to
slide
in
through
the
with
their
dogs
so,
but
they
expect
it
to
be
ready
in
eight
to
ten
weeks
there's
and
in
some
areas
the
grass
is
really
just
beautiful,
but
in
other
areas
it's
a
work
in
progress
and
they're
they're
planning
to
do
a
grand
opening
there
or
a
grand
reopening
when
they're
ready.
But
I
think
it's
going
to
be
a
little
bit.
It's
it's
going
to
be
a
little
bit.
D
D
We've
had
some
we've
had
some
of
our
consultants
come
out
and
give
us
an
estimate
and
some
ideas
on
what
it
would
take
to
fix
it,
because
it's
it's
just
experiencing
what.
D
And
right
now,
because
it's
not
wet,
it
seems
to
be
doing
all
right,
but
we
know
that
we're
going
to
need.
We
know
that
we're
going
to
be
fixing
that
we
know
we
need
to
fix
that
and
we
have
a
permanent
fix
that
would
be
on
the
calendar
for
like
two
years
from
now.
D
D
Another
item
that
is
open
right
now
with
the
faa
is
the
item
with
the
displaced
threshold,
and
that
has
to
do
with,
with
the
current
the
current
way
that
cal
fire
gets
into
the
air
to
fight
fires
and
it
would
affect
their
ground
travel
on
the
ground
and
it
could
slow
them
down
and
cal
fire
sent
in
a
letter
to
the
faa
and
the
city
sent
in
a
letter
as
well
supporting
supporting
them
in
that
and
asking
about
that
and
to
date
we
haven't
heard
back
from
the
faa
on
a
final
decision
on.
A
D
D
I
think
the
week
of
may
24th
and
the
way
that
it's
going
to
impact
the
tenants
at
the
airport
is
that
it
shouldn't
really
affect
them
too
too
much,
but
they're
going
to
be
getting
fuel
from
the
trucks
the
the
fbos
are
going
to
be
servicing
their
customers
with
the
truck,
because
we're
not
the
island
is
not
going
to
be
able
to
be
in
use
and.
D
It's
I'm
not
sure
what
what
test
failed,
but
I
mean
it's
a
it's
an
underground
fuel
tank,
so
it
kind
of
doesn't
matter
whatever
it
is.
It
needs
to
be
addressed
right
away,
and
so
that's
what
we're
working
on
doing.
D
They
think
it's
a
two-day
project.
Oh.
F
D
D
E
A
C
D
D
D
A
Well,
I'll
make
a
comment
on
those
fuel
tanks.
There
was
an
environmental
issue
a
few
years
back
and
that
might
that
could
turn
into
a
real
expensive
project.
Possibly
I
don't
know
what's
going
on
now,
yeah.
F
A
A
F
A
A
C
New
one,
I
was
fortunate
to
be
involved
with
the
99s
from
bay
city
99s
and
the
monterey
99s
came
out.
A
whole
group
of
women
came
out
to
redo,
compass
rose
for
us.
C
E
A
A
C
Took
this
from
a
glider
ride,
which
I
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
the
bay
area,
glider
rides
especially
charlie,
who
donated
his
time
in
the
plane
and
gave
all
of
the
women
who
and
men
there
were
few
men
that
volunteered
to
do
this.
He
gave
each
of
us
a
ride
in
the
glider,
so
it
was
a
lot
of
up
and
downs
for
him,
but
it
was
really
nice
of
him
to
take
the
time
to
do
that.
C
E
C
Had
a
few
windy
afternoons
a
few
little
issues
with
a
jet
parking
in
right
next
to
us,
so
we
had
to
wait
two
hours,
but
it
was
a
great
time
of
fellowship
with,
especially
for
me
with
other
women
pilots
and
to
hear
stories
and.
E
E
D
And
go
ahead.
Thank
you,
commissioner
wells
for
everything
you
did
to
help
facilitate
that
I
mean
as
an
ambassador
for
the
airport,
but
also
as
as
a
community
member
welcoming
other
community
members.
You
know
in
into
our
lives
and
into
our
work
spaces
that
was,
that
was
fabulous.
It
was
a.
It
was
a
wonderful
time.
The
airport.
E
D
Had
a
wonderful
time
good
and
it's
beautiful
it's
going
to
be
functional
for
a
very
long
time.
You
know-
and
you
know,
thanks
to
the
bay
area-
99s
monterey
99s,
the
salinas
pilots,
association
right.
D
Our
own
eaa
and
hollister
airmen's
association
thank.
C
C
C
So
charlie
was
really
good.
He
knew
I
wanted
to
get
some
photos,
and
so
he
tried
to
go
in
a
little
closer
and
go
around
and
around,
and
he
gave
me
an
extra
long
ride
because
I
was
the
last
one.
So
I
came
back
on
the
second
date
or
a
few
days
later,
so
that
we
could
give
all
the
women
who
were
flying
or
coming
from
other
places
an
opportunity
to
do
it
sooner.
So
it
was
a
great
experience
too.
I'd
never
been
in
glider.
F
C
Nobody
else
would
have
card
if
you
hadn't
said
it:
okay
good!
Well,
if
you
can
tell
the
inside
of
the
compass
rose,
is
the
99s,
but
you
have
to
kind
of
look
at
the
99
as
a
nine
on
top
of
a
nine,
but
that's.
D
Can
what
happened
here
was
we
discussed
the
changing
the
bylaws
at
our
last
commission
meeting
from
seven
members
to
five
members
and
the
intention
and
the
reason
for
that
was
to
help
us
secure
a
quorum
so
that
we
could
continue
to
meet?
D
And
the
commission
decided
unanimously
to
support
that,
and
I
put
that
on
the
agenda
for
the
city
council,
because
that
the
last
final
step
of
that
is
when
it
gets
ratified
by
the
city
council
and
I
actually
had
jumped
the
gun
because
there's
a
provision
in
the
bylaws.
D
That
is
the
only
change,
and
what
that
means
is
that
and
the
way
that
that
was
arrived
at
is
that
they
took.
It
was
seven
members
which
was
five
members,
five
city
residents
and
two
county
residents,
and
so
they
reduced
it
to
five
residents,
but
they
also
by
consensus.
The
council
asked
our
sitting
county
commissioner,
and
we
have
won
for
him
to
finish
his
term,
which
would
be
another
two
years.
D
A
A
E
D
B
Yeah
I
wanted
to
touch
base
to
find
out
if
anybody
has
talked
to
amazon
about
how
they
are
going
to
use
the
airport,
because
it's
probably
pretty
naive
to
think
that
they're
not
going
to
use
it
since
they're
building
such
a
big
facility
right
across
the
street
from
it
you
know
what
kind
of
use
I
mean
access.
Do
they
need.
What
I
mean
are
there
fees
involved?
B
You
know
some
some
sort
of
a
maybe
somebody
could
go
up
to
san
jose
or
to
one
of
their
hub
airports
and
call
them
and
find
out.
You
know
what
kind
of
structure
they
have,
because
you
know
they're
going
to
use
it.
I
mean
in
one
way
or
another.
B
Well,
they've
got
a
major
they're
building
a
huge
warehouse
right
across
the
street.
I
can't
imagine
they're
not
going
to
have
maybe
might
not
be
huge
jets,
but
I
see
caravans
all
day
long
coming
in
you
know,
and
you
know
it's
just
just
a
thought.
A
F
B
B
C
B
B
Yeah
or
you
know,
what's
their
access
going
to
be,
do
they
get
run
out
of
the
place?
You
know
they
just
get
to
bring
bring
vans
onto
the
tarmac
whenever
they
want
or
you
know,
or
is
there
going
to
be
a
dedicated
area
that
sort
of
thing
you
know,
there's
a
couple
of
things
that
can
affect
the
rest
of
the
tenants
out
there
that
we
should
be
aware
of
you.
A
D
So
would
you
be
okay
if
we
did
meet
with
the
city
manager
and
saw
maybe
he
would
want
to
come
to
to
to
attend
the
commission
meeting
and
then
send
a
letter
after
that,
so
that
he's
aware
that
we're
going
to
do
it.
A
B
A
B
F
D
B
E
C
C
Were
you
able
to
find
out
if,
if
we
can
use
the
meeting
room
again
to
congregate
with
eaa,
or
I
think,
as
long
as
we
wear
masks.
D
And
I
I
think
that
with
the
governor
opening
on
june
15th
and
I
think
all
that's
going
to
be
open
as
well,
but
I
think
that
and
I'm
sorry
how
many
did
you
say
your
group
was,
it
was.
B
D
F
The
the
business
that's
going
in
on
the
far
west
end
of
the
airport
outside
the
fence.
You
know
I'm
talking
about.
F
You
know
where
cal
fire
goes
out.
The
house
of
fire
department
goes
out
there
and
plays
around
once
a
while.
F
D
Would
be
set
up
to
be
to
be
through
the
fence
access,
but.
D
Them
and
then
they
would
need
to
get
a
permit
and
then
they
would
need
to
pay
the
monthly
fee
based
on
the
size
of
the
aircraft,
and
I
think
they
actually
have
to
have
something
in
there
that
the
that,
if,
for
some
reason
we
needed
to
the
city,
could
could
close
off
their
access
to
to
that.
E
D
F
I
thought
in
one
of
our
economic
meetings,
we
talked
to
the
guy,
that's
in
that
building
and
I
didn't
catch
what
their
product
was
or
what
they
were
doing.
A
A
D
We
want
to
bring
the
airport
designations
back
next
time,
or
do
we
want
to
do
that,
maybe
at
another
time,
because
there's
a
number
of
items
that
I
believe
commission
wants
to
revisit
at
our
next
meeting?
Is
that
something
that
you
guys
might
want
to
let
sit
out
or
should
we
go
ahead
and
discuss
that.
B
You
could
sit
out.
I
guess
that's
not.
I
think
some
time
sensitive
stuff
mm-hmm
might
be
like
the
leak
at
the
island,
the
fuel
island.
What
the
status
of
that
is
the
fourth
of
july
fireworks,
that's
a
you
know,
drop
dead
date.
B
What
else
california
cal
fire
they're
gonna
be
coming
soon
and
that
helipad?
You
know
placement
make
sure
that
they
don't
accidentally
go
ahead
and
put
it
right
in
the
middle
of
the
airport.
F
Do
we
want
to
even
talk
about?
Maybe
a
future
air
show
getting
back.
B
Into
that
I
think
it'd
be
a
neat
thing,
maybe
not
an
air
show,
but
maybe
a
fly-in
or
something
something.
B
Necessitate
all
the
legal
stuff
right.
B
D
D
C
C
F
F
Something
we
might
think
about
is,
I
don't
know,
general
maintenance
of
the
airport
itself.
If
maybe
each
of
us
commissioners
want
to
kind
of
make
up
a
list
of
stuff
that
we
think
needs
to
be
worked
on
out
there.
That
could
use
some
attention.
F
D
E
F
B
D
B
I
think
the
sweeper
that
mark's
talking
about
was
one
that
connected
to
like
a
tractor
or
something
it
was
a
an
accessory
that
they
used
to
use.
Oh.
D
B
A
A
B
E
A
D
Do
we
changed
out
all
of
the
just,
for
example,
just
some
things
that
most
of
the
time
you
don't
see,
but
they
need
attention
and
they
need
to
be
functional.
D
We
changed
out
all
the
holders
for
the
fire
extinguishers
so
that
they're
all
in
good
shape
now
and
they
can
all
be
accessed
if
you
need
them
we're
replacing
trash
cans
which
isn't
necessarily
beautiful,
but
the
ones
we're
looking
are
attractive
but
they're,
the
ones
that
have
the
stationary
lid
so
that
that
doesn't
get
airborne
and
it
doesn't
fall
over
and
it
doesn't
knock
debris
out
because
you
know
that's
just
such
bad
news
for
an
airplane
right.
E
D
On
situations
like
that,
we're
working
on
moving
in
the
lawn
area-
that's
actually
in
front
of
the
airport
office
to
give
sabrisa's
customers
a
safer
place
to
park
where
they
can
be
a
little
bit
further
up
and
it
clears
that
roadway
a
little
bit.
So
we
do
have
some
things
that
we
have
been
looking
at
and.
E
D
E
D
We
could
secure
the
fence
again,
but
we
would
we're
looking
at
at
re-striping
the
runways
we're
hoping
to
get
that
done.
D
Of
course,
that's
all
weather
permitting,
but
we're
hoping
at
the
first
part
of
the
of
the
new
fiscal
year
that
we
would
be
able
to
get
some
of
those
things
done
that
are
just
they're,
just
general
maintenance
items
but
they're
important
when
you're
talking
about
visibility,
that's
always
important
when
you're
talking
about
adequate
parking,
it's
a
safety
issue
when
you're
talking
about
being
able
to
find
a
fire
extinguisher
and
being
able
to
use
it.
D
D
Yeah
and
what
we
had
talked
about
a
little
bit
was
the
minute
you
adopt
the
budget.
It
tries
to
change
things
happen,
but
if
you
wanted
to
know
what
our
plans
were
for
the
coming
year,
absolutely
we
have
a
plan.
F
C
C
C
E
D
Okay,
would
you
mind
if
we
went
back
over
the
the
items
to
get
back
on.
B
A
A
A
E
C
I
apologize
there
are
some
places
in
those
amended
minutes
that
say
the
meeting
was
september
24th
in
some
places
it
says
september
23rd
and
I
believe
it
was
the
23rd.
