From YouTube: 2018 Senior Center Grand Opening
Description
On January 12, 2018, Inglewood Seniors, residents, guests, and other community members, were witnesses to a promise fulfilled. The Grand Opening of their new state of the art Senior Center located at 333 W. Locust.
The facility is the byproduct of outstanding leadership from City Staff and community partners who from day one, were dedicated to seeing the project through.

B
Welcome
to
the
grand
opening
of
the
Inglewood
City
Senior
Center,
but
a
little
bit
of
background,
the
former
structured
asset
to
site
was
built
in
1967
for
carpet
company
the
city
purchased,
the
building
in
1970
for
senior
services
and
in
2007
we
demolished
building
and
moved
services
for
the
seniors
to
five
different
locations
throughout
the
city.
This
is
the
19th
public
building
the
city
has
built
in
the
city
of
Inglewood.
B
The
last
public
structure
that
was
built
in
the
city
was
on
the
district
2
community
center
that
was
opened,
June,
18th
2016,
similar
to
the
district
2
Community
Center
building
the
Senior
Center
represents
the
best
of
contemporary
architecture.
However,
what
makes
this
stand
out
is
a
whimsical
architectural
element,
as
you
can
see
above
the
entrance
and
I
think
you
kind
of
represents
the
player
and
excitement
of
our
seniors.
E
I
took
office,
there
were
several
things
that
the
residents
have
been
waiting
for,
but
the
number
one
thing
that
the
seniors
talked
about
every
time
I
saw
a
senior
was:
when
will
the
Senior
Center
be
built,
and
it
was
more
than
just
assembling
the
money
to
build
the
Senior
Center.
We
had
to
take
care
of
errors
from
the
past.
E
We
had
to
pay
back
money
for
drawings
that
weren't
acceptable
for
lift
for
the
fun
source
that
was
used
and
then,
when
we
started
from
Ground
Zero,
we
assembled
the
money,
put
7
million
dollar
general
fund
money
with
it
and
we
started
construction,
and
now
we
have
a
building
that
will
be
the
pride
of
England
for
at
least
the
next
50
years.
The.
F
City
of
Englewood
is
experiencing
great
economic
development
and
considerable
growth,
and
our
seniors
certainly
will
not
be
left
out.
Our
seniors
will
have
an
opportunity
to
access
a
safe,
secure
and
beautiful
facility
because
of
the
vision
of
City,
Council
members
past
and
present,
and,
of
course,
your
mayor
butts,
so
everyone
that's
been
involved
in
the
development
of
the
city.
You
are
to
be
congratulated,
respected
and
thank
you.
We.
G
Didn't
just
want
a
square
box
building.
We
wanted
something
with
a
quality,
architect
design,
and
so
therefore,
it's
something
that
in
fact,
we
would
appreciate
those
that
are
using
it,
which
would
be
the
seniors
we
appreciate,
but,
more
importantly,
it's
effective
to
serve
the
needs
of
our
seniors
I'm.
H
I
And
everything's
here,
for
not
only
they'll,
be
medical
things
here:
ways
to
get
transportation.
There
will
be
billion
multi-purpose
room,
arts
and
crafts,
physical,
fitness
room
with
bikes,
a
treadmill
computer
all,
and
there
will
be
someone
here
to
make
sure
that
you
know
how
to
use
all
these
things.
When
our
seniors
come
here.
They
go
and
experience
the
love
of
England,
because
it's
office
building.
