Description
Veterans Affairs Committee Meeting, 05/09/2023
B
A
Called
me
last
night
that
he
was
not
going
to
be
able
to
be
here
personally,
but
he
would
like
to
get
a
lake
so
we'll
see.
C
D
D
D
A
A
D
Have
quite
a
few
announcements
under
Communications,
but
if
anyone
wants
to
say
anything,
if
you
want
to
say
now
or
an
announcements,
it's
up
to
you:
okay,
okay,.
H
Okay
for
the
record
of
Jesus,
and
yes
for
all
of
you
that
that
have
gone
by
the
the
the
proposed
Vietnam
Memorial
Plaza
I
got
some
pictures
here
of
a
t-shirt
that
I'm
that
I
have
that
I
formulated
in
order,
so
that
we
can
probably
use
it
on
the
day
that
we
have
the
ribbon
cutting
and
whoever
wants
to
buy
a
t-shirt
they
will
be
available.
All
you
have
to
do
is
contact
me
and
I've
already
got
about
about
90
to
100
order.
H
I
mean
people
that
that
want
to
get
them,
can
I
put
it
up
on
the
screen.
Yes,
sir
Okay,
so.
G
H
C
A
H
Okay,
so
the
apostrophe
will
be
taken
off.
Okay,
this
shirt
is
the
front
of
the
shirt,
and
then
this
is
going
to
be
here.
H
Okay,
this
is
going
to
be
the
back
of
the
shirt
and,
as
you
can
see,
the
28
Laredo
ones
that
never
made
it
back
from
Vietnam.
They
released
it.
On
the
back
of
the
shirt,
this
shirt
will
be
a
small,
medium,
large
and
extra
large
ten
dollars,
2X
and
3X
12
4X
and
above
13.50,
and
that's
the
the
actual
prize
that
the
the
guy
that's
gonna.
Do
him
that's
exactly
what
he's
charging?
Oh
then,
most
of
you
that
haven't,
if
any
of
you
have
been
to
the
veterans,
cemetery
I,
know.
H
Saw
the
the?
What
do
you
call
it?
The
ghost
or
mother
Monument?
Okay,
if
you
haven't
seen
it,
this
is
what
it's
okay.
This
is
the
the
front
of
the
ghost
the
back
of
the
ghost
or
mother
Monument,
and-
and
this
is
the
front.
H
A
H
Yeah,
this
is
a
monument
that
or
chewy.
H
H
H
H
Those
of
you
have
that
have
not
gone
by
the
proposed
veterans.
We
are
now
veterans,
okay.
This
is
what
the
sign
looks
like
on
Mcpherson
right
next
to
the
library,
the
of
course
the
apostrophe
is
going
to
be
taken
out
of
there
Gutierrez
and
he
will
be
taking
it
off.
H
We
plan
to
we
plan
to
have
throughout
the
walking
trail
we
plan
to
have
28
28
trees
to
one
for
each
veteran
one
for
each
Laredo,
one
that
didn't
come
back
from
from
Vietnam,
and
this
is
the
these
are
the
trees
that
we
are
are
proposing
that
we
put
out
there.
If
you
go
by
Texas
Community
Bank,
they
have
them
all
around
the
their
Bank
on
veteran
on
Memorial
Day.
H
Okay,
all
right
at
8
45,
they
are
Laredo
motorcycle
Riders.
They
will
roll
in
at
8
45.
introduction
of
Sarah
Modis,
and
then
our
chaplain
will
be
Deacon.
Jerry
Morales.
He
has
confirmed
already
or
I
call
the
former
mayor,
Pete
science,
since
our
new
mayor
doesn't
sing
okay,
so
former
mayor
fish,
as
you
all
know
that
he
loves
to
sing.
So
he
said
he
would
be
honored
to
go
out
there
and
he
will
be
singing
the
natural
anthem.
H
Flandersfield
will
be.
The
point
will
be
by
Isabel
Maria,
Isabel
Ramirez,
then
the
introduction
of
speakers
and
also
we
will
introduce
our
Gold
Star
Mothers
Juana
Maria
Rodriguez
Cecilia
arizola
Elizabeth
Espinoza.
H
H
And
then,
after
Tommy
Rodriguez,
we
will
have
the
roll
call
of
fallen
heroes
which
I
have
the
least
prepared
in
my
office.
I
didn't
bring
it
with
me
because
it's
a
long
list
after
that
we
will
have
the
placement
of
the
wreath.
Usually
it's
done
by
the
by
the
mayor
and
the
and
the
we
have
the
American
Legion,
the
commander,
the
21
Guns
salute
by
American
Legion,
Post
59,
and
then
the
last
Monday
in
May
will
be
by
the
Nora
Via
Real
I've
got
one
of
the
ladies.
H
That
wants
to
do
a
poem
so
either
dinora
or
the
other
lady
from
the
from
the
village.
American
Legion
will
be
doing
that
point,
the
benediction
by
Deacon
Morales
again,
and
then
we
will
have
Navy
veteran
Ed
Morales
I
mean
Ed
Gonzalez,
singing
America,
the
Beautiful
closing
remarks
by
Jose
Gomez
Commando,
American
Legion
and
after
all
the
ceremonies
are
gone.
We
will
have
the
unveiling
of
the
Monument,
so
everybody's
welcome,
please
be
there
by
8
15
8
30.
So
we
can
all
be
see
it.
H
I've
ordered
about
300
shares
about
12
tables,
four
canopies,
one
bleachers
for
the
for
the
bike.
For
the
bikers
and
Jonas
Jonas
really
is
taking
care
of
the
coffee,
tacos
era
and
the
sun
system,
and
all
that
by
the
by
the
parking
right.
So
that's
my
my
say.
F
H
You
thank
you
so
much
and
I
I
hope
that
everybody
is
able
to
attend,
and
if
anybody
needs
t-shirts
you
can
get
a
hold
of
me.
By
give
me
a
call
or
email
me
will.
A
You
this
is
something
that
you've
been
working
on
for
a
long
time.
Oh
yeah,
and
you
were
very
efficient
today
because
you
were
able
to
take
care
of
two
items
at
the
same
time.
So
the
next
item
was
the
gold
star.
Mother
is
a
monument
unveiling,
but
winner
took
care
of
that
already
so
now
we
have
announcements
new
services
at
the
VA
clinic
by
Crystal
cabin.
F
E
E
So
we
came
out
with
a
tri-fold
which
is
kind
of
a
pamphlet
and
I
gave
it
to
a
majority
of
you
to
see
what
we
have,
and
this
is
going
to
be
available
at
the
clinic,
it's
kind
of
something
that
you
could
grab
on
the
go.
It
has
all
the
information
that
we
believe
in
management
locally,
that
the
veterans
should
be
made
aware
how
to
register.
You
know,
there's
there's
four
ways
to
register
apply
by
phone
by
mail.
You
could
come
in
in
person
or
there's
a
link
that
you're
able
to
register
for
services.
E
If
you
haven't
been
able
to
register,
we
have
new
patient
orientation
every
every
third
Tuesday
of
the
month
and
that's
kind
of
giving
you
a
broad
aspect
of
what
our
Clinic
is
about.
Then,
of
course
we
have
the
veteran
crisis
line.
We
do
have
several
quick
links
on
there
for
my
healthy
vet.
What
my
health
event,
what
you
could
do
in
my
healthy
bed,
which
is
direct
message
to
your
providers,
refill
prescriptions,
monitor
appointments,
get
your
health
records
from
for
yourself,
and
you
don't
have
to
do
it
in
the
clinic.
E
You
could
just
go
to
my
healthy
vet
and
get
all
that
information.
We
did
put
the
website
on
there
as
well.
We've
also
put
the
website
for
the
network
providers
out
in
the
community.
So
if
you
go
to
that
website,
it
gives
you
all
the
Urgent
Care,
the
emergency
care
and
the
community
care
providers
to
include
the
pharmacies
in
case
you
guys
or
any
of
the
veterans
have
any
questions
so
providers
that
are
out
there
for
services
that
we
don't
have
within
the
clinic.
E
You
could
go
to
that
website
and
it
could
tell
you
whether
that
provider
you
want
to
see
is
a
network
provider
or
not.
We
do
have
the
transportation
email,
I
mean
I'm,
sorry
phone
number
and
that's
for
all
those
veterans
that
are
not
able
to
get
to
their
appointments,
whether
it's
in
Corpus
or
in
Harlingen
or
locally.
That's
the
phone
number
that
you
could
call
and
you
can
set
up
an
appointment
for
them
to
be
able
to
give
you
a
transportation
services.
E
On
the
next
page.
You
we
have
all
the
services
that
we
offer:
Primary
Care
Mental,
Health,
Radiology
nutrition
services,
Social
Work,
lab
homeless
program,
health
benefits,
advisor
education
classes,
Physical,
Therapy,
Community,
Care,
Podiatry,
Nail,
Care,
Clinic,
Pharmacy
services,
Transportation,
Telehealth,
telously,
teller,
retinal,
telederm,
tele,
cardio,
telephone
and
telepain
anger
management
classes.
We
now
have
Whole
Health
classes.
We
now
have
Women
Health.
We
now
have
our
newest
service
is
the
optical
Tech.
So
a
lot
of
the
veterans
here
locally
go
to
Galo
for
their
glasses.
E
We
now
have
a
contracted
service
on
the
clinic
in
the
clinic,
where
veterans
could
actually
go,
take
their
prescription
there
and
they'll
get
their
glasses
there
locally,
and
we
have
somebody
there
full
time
from
eight
to
eight
to
four
Thirty
Monday
to
Friday.
So
this
this
service
should
be
able
to
start
running
by
the
end
of
this
month,
the
beginning
of
next
month.
So
we
still
are
getting
some
of
the
equipment
to
be
able
to
work,
but
once
it
is
ready
to
go,
then
you
won't
have
to
go
to
the
Galo
Community
anymore.
E
We
have
patient
care
Advocate
and
we
have
the
the
PLC
there
as
well
and
the
way
you
could
file
disability
claims.
We
have
it
on
here
as
well.
Of
course
we
do
have
Mr
Lewis
on
site,
but
for
all
those
veterans
that
can
go
on
site.
This
is
another
way
that
you
could
do
that.
We
have
the
website
and
we
have
the
phone
number
that
you
could
do
that
as
well.
E
We
have
the
way
you
could
contact
your
primary
care
on
here
and,
of
course,
we
have
the
leadership
for
our
local
clinic,
so
it's
just
a
little
pamphlet
for
everybody
to
just
be
able
to
grab
and
take
with
them
in
case
they
have
any
questions
on
how
to
do
certain
things
within
our
clinic.
This
is
just
helpful
for
them
not
to
be
asking
different
people
everything's
on
here
the
information
and
as
we
grow,
which
we
are
growing.
We
continue
to
update
this
locally
for
all
the
veterans.
B
E
Isaac
salmon,
but
once
you
get
your
get
your
assembling,
you
get
your
position
that
prescription
will,
instead
of
taking
it
over
to
Gaylord,
to
get
your
glasses,
you
could
bring
it
over
to
the
clinic
and
you
get
your
glasses
there.
You
will
have
several
options
on
the
glasses.
You
could
also
get
your
glasses
fixed
or
any
questions
again
I.
E
Don't
we
are
not
a
hundred
percent
of
everything
that
they're
going
to
be
able
to
do
because
they're
still
kind
of
in
the
process
of
doing
that,
but
by
the
end
of
the
month
we
should
have
everything
ready.
They
should
be
able
to
log
on
and
have
your
records
be
able
to
access
your
records
because
they
are
not
a
VA
employee.
There
are
contracted
facilities,
so
it's
a
little
bit
trickier.
E
Okay,
so
the
next
one
is
our
mmu,
and
this
is
just
kind
of
a
broad
information
on
to
why
we
went
this
route,
so
Valley
Texas,
the
VA,
the
Coastal
Bend.
We
right
now
we
service
about
50,
000
of
veterans,
that's
including
from
Harlingen
all
the
way
to
Corpus
and
Laredo.
We
are
building
a
new
clinic
in
Bronzeville,
that
is
in
the
work
in
progress.
To
do
that
and
of
course,
we
we
cover
Carrizo
and
we
hebronville
Zapata.
E
So
that
is
all
going
to
be
in
this
information
that
we
have
here
the
other
way.
Okay,
so
the
medical
Mobile
Medical
units
will
be
able
to
Service
Corpus
Christi,
Corpus,
Christi
mobile
unit
and
I'll
show
you
a
picture
of
what
it
looks
like
right
now
and
the
services
that
they
will
be
providing
is
for
all
those
veterans
that
are
not
able
to
travel
to
Laredo
or
travel
to
Corpus
or
travel
to
the
local
clinics.
E
We
will
have
this
unit
that
is
going
out
to
this
rural
areas
and
providing
those
services
for
them
in
those
areas,
so
it
will
be
Kingsville,
Rockport,
Alice,
Carrizo,
Springs
and
then
the
Malibu
unit
for
the
McAllen
area
would
be
doing
five
food,
yes,
participals
Zapata
and
Rio
Grande,
okay
and
the
services
that
we'll
have
is
primary
care,
Women's,
Health,
Audiology,
laboratory
and
Telehealth
Telehealth
services.
E
So
this
is
what
it
looks
like
and
inside
this
I
believe
there's
a
two
to
three
exam
rooms
that
you'll
be
able
to
do.
You'll
also
be
able
to
get
Labs,
so
veterans
that
are
out
in
the
community.
Sapata
don't
have
to
come
all
the
way
here
to
get
their
their
labs
done,
to
be
able
to
be
seen
so
you'll
be
able
to
do
it.
That's
the
schedule
as
well:
Mondays,
Tuesdays,
Wednesdays
and
Thursdays
they
already
at
the
same
time
they
will
have
it.
E
I
have
a
a
schedule
on
when
they're
going
to
be
at
what
location
that
is
going
to
be
happening
on
a
routine
basis.
They,
the
one
for
McAllen,
already
started
the
one
from
Corpus
will
start
next
month.
So,
but
just
so
everybody
is
aware.
Okay,
so
the
McAllen
mmu
is
going
to
be
in
the
Zapata
on
Thursdays,
from
10
to
3
P.M
and
the
address
is
the
Zapata
County
Community
Care.
E
And,
of
course,
we
have
I
and
I
could
give
all
this
information.
This
is
just
kind
of
something
that
I
put
together
just
to
for
me
to
be
able
to
provide
all
this
information,
because
it's
a
lot,
but
they
do
have
the
locations
and
the
times
and
the
dates
already
set
for
all
these
locations
for
all
those
veterans
that
are
outside
of
the
30
mile
Community
area
for
the
Laredo.
E
Any
questions
on
you
so
far,
so
another
service
that
we
have
we
paired
up
with
the
legal
and
I
think
Mr
Robot
is
here
this
year,
so
they
will
be
in
our
clinics
every
third
Tuesday
of
the
month
providing
legal
services
I,
don't
want
to
speak
too
much
honey
because
he's
here
and
he
could
probably
speak
on
it,
but
it
we'll
get
the
opportunity
for
them
to
be
in
our
clinic
for
all
those
veterans
that
need
some
legal
services
and
we
already
have
a
scheduled
May,
16th,
June,
20th,
July,
18th,
August,
15,
September,
15th
and
October
17th
to
be
able
to
come
on
site
and
talk
to
them
in
case
they
need
that
and
that's
all
I
have
anybody.
A
Crystal,
just
for
the
record
I
didn't
hear
you
mentioned
having
bill
on
that
mobile
unit.
E
From
Bill
we
don't
have
on
there
so
far,
yet
because
we
are
looking
in
order
for
us
to
be
able
to
have
them.
You
know
we
have
to
set
a
location
where
we
could
park
the
unit
and
it
has
all
the
connectivity
and
everything
that
needs
to
be
done.
I,
don't
believe
that
they
have
got
in
there
yet
so
we
are
working
on
having
the
Haver
bill
as
well.
H
A
Can
you
approach
it
Mike?
Well,
so
everybody
can
hear
the
public
is
listening
when
they,
when
the
broadcast
is
this
meeting.
H
My
question
to
Crystal
was
that
after
that
calls
from
veterans
they
think
I
work
for
the
VA.
But
they've
asked
me
about
home
and
attendance.
You
know
and
I
I
always
refer
them
to
David,
but
who
is
in
charge
of
formal
attendance
and
how
do
you
qualify.
E
So
right
now
we
don't
have
a
big
section
of
home-based
primary
care.
Home-Based
primary
care
is
really
on
a
bigger
side
in
the
Harlington
and
the
Corpus
area,
just
because
they
have
a
bigger
population
on
on
Veterans.
We
do
have
some
services
that
do
provide
the
home-based
primary
care,
but
we
don't
have
a
primary
care
provider
that
will
go
out
to
see
the
veterans.
We
do
have
social
work
and
we
do
have
some
of
the
nurses
that
be
able
to
provide
that
now.
How
do
you
qualify
for
that?
I?
E
F
They
have
to
apply
and
then
the
social
worker
they
have
to
qualify
for
it.
So
not
just
because
you
want
it
are
you
gonna
get
it
they
have
to
qualify.
The
doctor
has
to
sign
off
on
on
the
health
care
provider.
It's
you
can
do
it
both
ways
through
the
office
and
and
or
you
can
do
it
through
the
social
worker,
but
the
application
process
is
the
same
and
at
the
end,
the
MD
for
nurse
practitioners
to
sign
up.
I
I
If
it
is
the
aid
in
attendance
that
that's
when
it
goes
to,
you
and
I'll
refer
them
to
you
as
well.
So
like
she
said,
there
are
different
qualifications,
but
one
of
them
is
70
of
disability
and
it
has,
it
does
have
to
be
a
disability
rating,
and
then
they
have
to
get
in
interviewed
through
the
program
to
see
if
they
qualify,
based
on
the
other
qualifications
of
their
doctors,
filling
out
certain
forms
of
what
months.
B
I
E
And
just
to
put
a
note
on
that,
as
as
we
grow
and
as
things
change,
so
we
we
need
to
understand
that
processes
and
qualifications
and
requirements
do
change
as
we
go.
So
just
because
it's
one
way
right
now
doesn't
mean
that
in
two
months
or
three
months
we're
constantly
growing
things
are
constantly
changing.
That's
why
it's
extremely
important
to
get
with
the
social
work
and
they're
the
ones
that
get
the
update.
We
do
have
a
new
social
work.
That's
coming
on
site
right
now,
they're
going
through
the
new
new
employee
orientation.
E
So
we
will
have
two
social
workers
on
site
and
one
virtual,
because
we
only
had
one
so
she
was
completely
overwhelmed,
but
we
were
able
to
get
another
social
work.
So
right
now
we
are
going
through
the
new
employee
orientation
for
our
additional
social
work
that
will
be
outside
and
the
virtual
one
will
come
in
at
the
end
of
the
month.
F
One
thing
because
I
don't
want
anybody
to
get
discouraged
from
trying
to
apply
so
the
70.
That's
only
one,
there's
other
ways
to
apply
and
get
the
services
best
way
to
do.
It
is
really
just
contact
the
social
worker
at
the
VA
and
she
can
guide
you
or
my
office
and
will
guide
them,
but
there's
more
than
one
way
to
to
qualify,
for
it
doesn't
have
to
be
70.
Admissible
did
say
that
I
just
want
to
reiterate
it
that
it's
if
there's
many
ways
so
don't
get
discouraged.
H
For
the
record
screen
is
because
a
very
good
friend
of
ours,
100
disabled
veteran,
he's
got
heart
problems
with
that
and
his
wife
is
has
got
cancer.
This
is
the
second
time
that
she
goes
through.
Another
episode
of
cancer
she's
under
radiation,
chemo
and
she's
real
weak.
H
This
veteran
can
bear
he's,
got
to
help
her
to
the
bathroom
he's
got
to
help
her
to
you
know
shower,
but
oh
he
himself
is
very
weak,
so
he
had
to
hire
somebody
and
pay
and
I
I
was
telling
him
that
he
might
ask
the
VA
to
see
if
he
can
get
help
through
Asian
attendance.
That's
the
reason.
F
I
brought
it
up
and
let
him
know
that
he
it
sounds
like
he
probably
could
qualify
for
the
caregiver
family,
caregiver
yeah,
so
but
again
just
get
with
the
social
worker
that
be
the
best
or
have
him
I
know
who
you're
talking
about
so
just
have
him
call
the
office
or
the
social
worker
and
okay,
don't
Square
them
away
all
right.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
E
We
are
getting
a
lot
of
more
veterans
that
are
qualifying
for
our
services,
so
we
are
growing
in
a
rapid
Pace,
so
we
got
approved
to
get
another
provider
on
site,
which
is
another
team.
So
within
the
last
year
we
have
grown
two
teams,
which
is
every
provider
depending
on
what,
whether
you're
an
MP,
a
PA
or
a
MD.
It
depends
on
how
much
patients
you're
able
to
see.
So
this
will
give
us
the
opportunity
to
have
more
slots
and
more
availability
for
the
veterans
here
locally.
E
E
We
just
don't
have
a
big,
because
you're
only
there
for
a
certain
specific
time
to
see
certain
veterans
that
have
already
been
scheduled
because
they
cannot
drive
to
Laredo
or
they
cannot
drive
to
Harlingen,
but
the
possibility
of
getting
walk-ins
are.
There
is
just
unlimited
because
we
do
have
the
Urgent
Care
that
is
available.
A
Thank
you
a
couple
more
questions,
Crystal
along
the
lines
that
last
discussion,
can
you
now
or
at
another
time
give
us
a
a
rundown
on
how
to
a
caregiver
can
qualify
to
be
a
caregiver?
Yes,.
E
A
That
would
go
along
the
lines
of
what
we're
talking
about
there
and
that
would
be
an
initial
help
to
any
of
the
veterans
that
need
that
kind
of
help.
The
other
question
that
I
have
is:
we
have
been
in
the
past
getting
prescriptions
for
medication
that
we
can't
get
from
a
Carolina
locally
at
HEB,
or
even
other
providers
like
a
prosthetic
deployments
here
that
at
the
Prescott
we've
been
hearing
a
lot
that
we've
been
denied
in
getting
this
prescription
because
there's
no
pre-approval
as
the
policy
change.
So
what?
What
is
the
policy
for
that?
A
E
On
site,
so
if
you
go
outside
to
an
outside
provider
for
whatever
specialty
that
you
need,
they
have
to
send
it
back.
They
give
you
the
prescription,
you
have
to
bring
it
back
locally
and
have
your
provider
look
at
it
and
review
it,
and
then
they
communicate
based
on
what
the
necessity
the
provider
is,
prescribing
those
so
a
lot
of
times.
E
E
A
lot
of
medications
depending
on
the
funding
right
or
how
much
the
medication
cost.
That's
the
reason
that
we
have
the
pre-approved,
because
we
do
have
some
medications
that
go
over
five
thousand
dollars
just
for
one
thing
and
I'm
not
specifically,
and
of
course
we
cannot
speak
on
on
certain
situations
due
to
the
hippo
regulation,
but
certain
medications
because
of
the
nature
of
it
or
the
history
of
it
does
have
to
be
pre-approved,
and
sometimes
our
providers
are
not
even
able
to
do
that.
E
So
there's
different
different
ways
to
get
it
done
is
just,
unfortunately,
the
fact
that
we
are
a
remote
clinic
and
we
don't
have
a
pharmacy
here,
it's
a
little
bit
trickier
for
us
to
be
able
to
do
that,
but
specifics
I
don't
have
for
you.
I
could
find
out
by
a
provider
and
find
out
what
medications
and
the
reasons
that
is
happening,
but
I
wouldn't
be
able
to
give
you
that
information
right
now,
because
I
have
to
look
into
what
what
the
situation
is
behind
that.
Well,.
A
Myself,
where
we
get
a
prescription
from
from
the
local
VA
and
would
take
it
through
HEB,
because
that's
the
contract
place
I
believe
and
they
asked
for
pre-approval.
So.
A
E
Okay,
so
that's
a
voucher,
so
when
you
go
out
to
HEB
or
CVS
or
any
of
the
contracted
Pharmacy,
you
have
to
have
a
voucher
a
lot
of
times.
We
send
it
to
them,
fax
it
so
they
could
have
it
and
for
whatever
reason
it
doesn't
go
through
or
they
don't
receive
it
and
we've,
because
sometimes
we
have
to
get
on
the
phone
and
say
we
did
send
it.
They
never
received
it
and
that's
why
you
can't
get
because
you're
we
have
a
contract
with
them.
E
E
Yes,
so
for
any
veteran,
that's
having
the
same
issue
whenever
you
get
a
prescription
is
to
go
to
HEB
or
whatever
the
pharmacy
that
you're
going
to
that.
You
prefer
make
sure
that
you
always
have
a
voucher
with
you,
whether
you
you
need
it
or
you
don't
need
it,
it's
better
to
be
saved
than
them
to
be
yeah.
E
F
Also,
just
want
to
add
to
that,
like
you,
even
if
you
paid
for
it,
you
can
get
reimbursed
through
it.
You
just
have
to
talk
if
I'm
not
mistaken,
with
the
health
benefit
advisor
and
we
have
a
new
one
there.
A
young
lady
I
forgot
her
name.
I
just
met
her
about
two
weeks
ago.
G
F
Eager
she's
there
to
work,
not
just
click
the
paycheck,
so
you
would
want
to
talk
to
her
to
about
issues
like
that.
F
E
A
Yeah
I've
never
had
any
problems
before
when
I
have
a
prescription
from
a
local
pub
physician,
I
just
take
it
to
the
VA
and
they
call
it
in
and
so.
I've
never
had
problems
before,
but
I
had
that
with
with
this
particular
medication
and
then
with
an
insert
from
prosthetic
inserts.
It
was
the
same
thing
well.
D
Sir,
yes,
okay,
go
ahead.
Miss,
Vanessa,
Perez,
councilman
Bettis
called
me
before
the
meeting
she
said
she
wasn't
going
to
be
able
to
come.
Then
she
really
wanted
to
be
here,
but
she's
sent
her
assistant
Alejandra
Quintanilla.
Thank
you
for
coming
man.
Thank
you.
I
Okay,
for
the
record,
for
the
record,
my
name
is
Texas
veterans.
Commission
I'm,
the
Healthcare
Advocate
here
in
the
Laredo
Outpatient
Clinic
I,
was
just
wanting
to
inform
everyone
that
on
June
12th
is
women's
Veterans
Day
and
it
was,
it
was
turned.
It
was
a
bill
that
was
signed
on
2017
and
at
the
moment
we
don't
have
any
events
for
that
day.
But
I
did
want
to
make
everyone
aware
of
it,
and
I
want
to
share
this
flyer
with
everyone.
I
If
anyone
does
do
an
event,
we
are
allowed
to
share
the
women's
Veterans
Day
logo.
I
It's
the
state
no-go
with
Texas
veterans
commission
that
was
created
when
when
the
bill
was
put
into
pass
and
they
decided
on
June
12th
because
it's
it
was,
it
was
the
day
that
women's
were
allowed
to
that
President
Truman
signed
for
women's
to
women,
to
I'm
sorry
for
women
to
be
integrated
and
allow
women
to
serve
in
the
service.
I
I
Wanted
to
share
one
more
thing:
if
y'all
don't
mind
if
anyone's
into
art,
there
is
an
art
competition
going
on.
I
It's
a
suicide
awareness,
art
competition-
if
you
all,
are
familiar
with
the
coasters
that
the
VA
has.
They
are
re-creating
the
coasters
and
doing
in
our
competition,
because
the
number
changed
from
the
1-800
number
to
988
number
and
the
competition
is
only
going
to
be
until
May
22nd
the
deadlines
May
22nd
at
5
PM.
If
anyone
has
any
questions,
I'll
also
share
that
flyer:
I
do
have
it
in
color
via
email.
I
If
you
all
want
that
via
email
and
color,
and
the
location
to
send
the
information
or
to
request
to
to
send
the
the
art.
Designs
too,
will
be
the
email
that's
down
here,
which
is
v
h,
a
v
c
b,
Creations
art
va.gov.
I
A
We
have
a
couple
more
items
on
the
communication
I
like
to
to
recognize
that
Albert
Hernandez
mpama,
the
director
of
veteran
services
for
Laredo
College.
J
Hello
and
good
afternoon,
and
thank
you
for
the
invitation
for
the
record.
My
name
is
Robert
Hernandez
and
I'm,
currently
taking
over
the
role
of
the
director
of
veteran
services
at
Colorado,
College
and
I'll.
Take
this
opportunity
to
just
give
a
couple
of
announcements.
You
know
I
didn't
want
to
jump
in
there
without
being
in
the
agenda,
but
I
do
want
to
announce
that
we
do
have
11
Veterans
that
are
graduating
this
coming
Friday
across
several
of
our
programs
from
ranging
from
Workforce
programs
to
associate's
degree
programs.
J
We
also
have
now
a
couple
of
bachelor's
degrees
programs
that
are
offered
through
the
college.
Unfortunately,
we
do
not
have
any
veterans
in
those
programs
yet,
but
I
do
hope
to
see
some
veterans
right
sub
to
the
banks
to
be
able
to
earn
their
bachelor's
degrees
at
Laredo
College,
whether
it's
in
The
Bachelor
of
Science,
in
nursing
or
The
Bachelors
of
organizational
leadership.
J
So
we
are
expecting
again
a
total
of
22
individuals.
Grades
are
due
tonight
so
I'm,
hoping
that
that
list
of
the
22
individuals
that
have
applied
for
graduation
will
be
able
to
graduate.
So
tomorrow
is
the
delivery,
or
rather
the
the
pickup
of
the
regania
for
the
graduates
and
one
of
the
things
and
I
didn't
bring
a
flyer
for
this,
but
I
that
maybe
through
the
phone,
the
image
might
come
up.
F
J
They've,
never
really
been
recognized.
You
know,
through
our
graduation,
through
our
ceremonies
and
introducing
a
patch
for
the
veteran
dependent.
It's
a
way
for
them
to
also
honor
their
veteran
that
passed
on
or
allowed
them
to
qualify
for
their
benefits.
Many
of
these
veterans
are
still
alive.
Some
of
them
have
passed,
but
the
recipients
of
the
educational
benefits
are
still
there
for
their
dependence.
So
it's
a
way
to
symbolize
it
and
recognize
and
honor
those
individuals
that
are
graduating.
J
So
that
is
the
the
snow
that
was
shown
in
there,
and
you
know
I'm
very
proud
about
that.
J
Having
the
approval
from
our
graduation
committee,
our
president
and
our
board,
to
allow
this
to
be
recognized
for
our
students
and
another
thing
that
I
do
want
to
share
with
the
the
committee
the
the
audience
that's
here,
I've
also
been
recently
tasked
to
oversee
the
Memorial
Day
and
the
Veterans
Day
events
through
the
college,
so
I'm
already
working
with
some
of
our
local
committee
and
again
it
will
be
held
and
I'll
share
some
information
for
me
through
the
different
organization.
J
So
it's
doing
draft
mode,
but
it
will
be
held
on
Memorial
Day
on
May
29th
over
at
the
Fort
McIntosh
building
at
the
Falcon
conference
executive
room
for
those
of
you
that
have
not
been
on
campus
for
a
while.
It's
the
back
part
of
the
library,
the
Erie
Library,
the
conference
room
area.
So
we're
going
to
have
our
ceremony
there
and
we
invite
you
all
they
can
attend
to
come
by
and
and
be
able
to
go
over
that
I
do
have
a
draft
agenda
again.
It's
still
in
draft
mode.
J
B
K
J
We
can
kind
of
correct
it
there
all
right,
so
there's
a
couple
of
things
that
meals
still
need
to
be
confirmed,
but
nonetheless
the
the
focus
is.
We
are
having
our
master's
ceremonies.
It's
well
Dr,
Michael
Bailey
he's
one
of
our
professors
he's
a
former
Army
specialist.
He
will
be
our
master
of
a
ceremony
right
now.
We've
already
got
a
confirmation
from
one
of
our
former
LC
graduates.
He
has
been
a
graduated
a
few
years
back
with
his
associate's
degree.
It's
a
Staff
Sergeant
Jason
Mackey.
J
He
currently
is
with
the
Texas
National
Guard
I,
don't
recall
the
unit
that
he's
with
it's
up
in
north
Texas,
but
he's
attached
to
the
service
religious
working
with
the
chaplain.
So
it's
a
religious
Services,
non-commissioned
officer.
We
are
working
with
the
American
Legion
Post
59.
To
do
the
honor
guard.
For
us,
the
national
anthem
will
be
sung
by
Dr
Joseph
Crabtree,
one
of
the
professors
there
at
the
college
for
voice
and
music
The
Pledge
of
Allegiance
I
do
need
some
confirmation.
J
It's
some
of
our
students
are
trying
to
use
as
many
of
our
veteran
independent
students
to
participate.
Some
of
the
younger
crowd.
You
know
and
start
taking
front
and
state
center
within
some
of
our
events,
so
we
did
reach
out
to
one
of
our
students,
which
is
Lance
corporal
Luis
Camacho.
He
is
one
of
our
Logistics
students
pursuing
an
associate's
degree
they're
at
the
college,
and
we
hope
that
he'll
be
able
to
do
the
the
Pledge
of
Allegiance.
J
If
his
schedule
does
not
permit,
we
do
have
a
backup
one
of
our
dependents,
one
of
the
the
daughters
of
one
of
our
veterans
that
currently
is
graduating
part
of
those
22
students
that
are
graduating
to
be
able
to
do
that.
The
component
of
the
Pledge
of
Allegiance
this
time
around,
we
are
looking
at
having
a
little
bit
different
spin
to
the
honor
of
our
veterans.
It
means
by
having
a
proclamation
and
rather
than
doing
a
roll
call
of
the
names
we
want
to
be
able
to
get
the
displays
of
the
names
to
print
it.
J
If
you
can
visualize
kind
of
like
a
Traveling
Wall
Memorial
for
the
names
of
those
individuals
could
be
continually
remembered
and
those
were
the
most
recent
conflict
there
is
that
that
list
would
be
growing.
But
from
the
previous
months
we
will
be
able
to,
you,
know,
share
that
within
the
community
and
have
the
permanent
place
within
the
college
and
within
the
community,
we'll
make
some
adjustments
in
here
there's
some
recommendations
that
are
done,
such
as
moving
the
the
moment
of
silence
in
honorable
following
a
service
member
to
be
done
after
the
the
plane
attacks.
J
You
know
so
we'll
go
ahead
and
we'll
make
those
adjustments
and
again
we'll
have
a
benediction
towards
the
end.
Currently
one
of
our
veteran
parents,
the
student
is
a
attending
LC,
it's
Sergeant,
Juan
Rodriguez,
a
formerly
Marine,
Corps
veteran
and
he's
also
an
active
border
patrol
canine
Handler.
So
again,
it's
active
individuals
that
are
actively
participating
within
the
educational
components
of
the
the
college
through
our
Educational
Services
and
I'll
make
some
closing
remarks
and
then
those
that
want
to
stay
around
we
will
have
some
lunch
for
you
right
and
at
this
time.
J
This
concludes
my
presentation
and
I'll
open
up
the
floor
for
any
questions
or
comments.
Thank.
H
H
Our
ceremony,
I,
would
say,
will
probably
be
over
by
10
30,
but
then
some
people
stay
there
to
eat,
tacos
and
coffee,
and
all
that
you
know,
as
I
said
our
bikers
right
in
at
8
45.
We
start
the
the
ceremony
at
nine
o'clock
and
try
to
get
it
done
within
an
hour.
But
sometimes
you
know,
depending
on
how
many
guests
we
have
and
all
that,
but
normally
I
would
say
that
we
will
be
over
by
10
30.
B
H
Year
I
rushed
over
to
El
to
the
college
and
by
the
time
I
got
there.
Adult
Alfred
was
already
reading
the
names
of
the
world
working
Center,
yeah.
J
So
so
to
to
help
alleviate
some
of
that
close
gaps
between
the
different
events.
Our
doors
are
going
to
open
up
at
11
30..
The
ceremony
will
start
at
noon,
so
we
run
through
the
the
event
at
noon.
Roughly
about
30
40,
45
minutes
it's
right
at
lunchtime
you
know
it'll,
hopefully
alleviate
the
issue
of
having
to
have
especially
the
honor
guard
and
those
guests
that
would
want
to
attend
both
events,
that
it
gives
them
ample
time
to
be
able
to
make
it
from
the
cemetery
over
to
our
campus.
J
A
I
I
have
one
also
I
would
like
to
invite
you
or
anybody
else.
I
would
come
and
speak
about
the
educational
bill
that
the
VA
and
the
veterans
have
recently.
There
was
a
change
by
Congress
on
the
rules
on
how
to
qualifications,
particularly
the
85-15
formula
that
they
had
so
and
how
is
it
that
veterans
can
go
and
and
take
advantage
of
this
benefit
that
we
have
and
I
think
that
if
we
can
go
into
more
detail
how
the
veterans
can
can
apply,
I
know
the
way
to
college
when
he
was
very
Junior.
A
J
And
I
think
that's
a
Point
facing
point
into
my
office.
You
know
pretty
much
for
lack
of
a
better
term,
unaware
or
naive
to
the
fact
of
some
of
the
benefits
that
they
are
entitled
to.
Unfortunately,
the
benefits
for
him
had
expired
right,
but
a
lot
of
it
has
to
do
with
having
service
the
time
that
they
will
serve
and
the
best
thing
to
do
much
like
Mr
I've
mentioned
earlier,
is
it's
a
pie.
J
You
know
apply
for
the
benefits
and,
let's
see
what
you
qualify
for
and
if
one
benefit
may
not
be
able
to
cover
that.
We
can
then
explore
different
options
that
might
be
covered
through
the
state
or
through
alternative
means.
But
the
first
thing
would
be
to
apply
and
that's
where
we
come
in,
but
we
can
definitely
come
in
and
do
a
quick
overview
of
the
most
common
chapters
in
educational
programs
that
we
have
both
through
the
VA
and
through
the
Texas
veterans,
commission
and.
A
Not
only
that,
but
it's
also
that
the
defendants
are
qualified
to
be
able
to
use
this
benefit,
that's
something
that
most
Vietnam
veterans
were
not
able
to
take
advantage
because
it
was
not
available
to
us
at
that
time.
So
there's
been
a
lot
of
changes
and
this
particular
meeting
is
aired.
You
know
by
by
the
television
and
there's
a
lot
of
people
that
it
reaches
a
lot
of
people
and
veterans.
A
So
it
is
important
that
we
disseminate
as
much
information
as
possible
on
benefits
for
the
benefits.
So
if
you
could,
we
could
schedule
you
at
another
time
another
meeting
and
it
would
be
great.
J
Thank
you
very
much
more
than
an
honored
to
come
in
and
present
and,
like
I
mentioned
just
reiterating,
as
you
mentioned,
the
the
dependents.
We
have
11
dependents
that
are
on
track
to
graduate
this
coming
Friday
along
with
11
Veterans.
So
it's
a
total
of
22
individuals
that
we're
expecting
they're
just
kind
of
crossing
their
fingers
that
they
all
do
well
in
their
finals.
They
wrap
up
today
for
them
so
that
our
final
grades
come
in
tomorrow
and
basically
clearly
for
graduation.
For
this
coming
Friday
and.
A
And
this
is
the
the
platform
that
we
have
here
in
this
community
is
to
disseminate
information
and
and
improve
the
quality
level
of
veterans.
Have
we
have
another
gentleman,
that's
going
to
be
making
a
presentation
that
I
did
not
know
about
it,
that
it
was
available
to
Veterans
and
I'm
sure
there's
a
lot
of
veterans.
I
did
not
know,
so
we
need
to
be
able
to
take
advantage
of
this
platform
that
we
have
now
and
and
improve
the
quality
of
life
for
emitters.
Again,
thank
you
very
much
for
being
here.
Thank
you.
Any
other
questions.
D
J
D
Received
the
phone
call
from
a
veteran
saying
that
it
was
getting
demolished
and
getting
so
we
I
went
out
there
and
they
told
us
that
Elsie
had
something
to
do
with
it.
So
then
I
called
minita,
Dr
Ramirez
and
she
explained
to
me
so
I
don't
know
if
you
have
that
information,
so
you
could
share
with
us.
J
Because
some
general
information
I
haven't
been
formally
given.
J
There
are
some
plans
to
relocate
those
monuments
to
the
college
and
on
the
next
presentation
that
we
come
in
I'll,
go
ahead
and
I'll
reach
out
to
the
leadership
to
go
ahead
and
get
clearance
to
be
able
to
provide
some
general
information
and
start
getting
the
the
momentum
going.
Yes,
sir,
in
any
scheduled
timelines
that
might
be
forthcoming
with
them.
J
A
You
thank
you.
One
other
thing
that
I
want
to
discuss
on
the
communications
is
that
with
this?
Thank
you,
sir
Mr
Hernandez.
We,
we
did
not
have
a
meeting
last
last
month
and
we
have
had
discussions.
This
committee
has
had
discussions
about
having
meetings
every
other
month.
A
It's
something
that
the
community
members
need
to
think
about,
and
maybe
next
meeting
that
we
have,
we
can
discuss
it
whether
we
want
to
do
that
or
not
because
there's
times
when,
when
we
don't
have
enough
items
or
we
don't
have
enough
people
that
are
going
to
be
making
a
quarter
for
whatever
reason,
it's
something
that
we
need
to
be
able
to
to
discuss
and
see.
That's
the
format
that
we
want
to
implement
with
this
committee.
A
If
you
want
to
put
it
out,
that's
for
everybody's
information
and
see
if
we
can
reach
a
consensus
of
what
we
want
to
do,
whether
we
want
to
continue
to
meet
every
month
for
every
other
month.
D
Sir
and
I
could
say
a
little
bit
about
that
sure.
Go
ahead.
Like
a
few
days
before
the
meeting,
Albert
and
I,
we
sit
in
my
office
and
we
start
calling
people
and
then,
like
last
month,
we
only
had
like
one
or
two
items
yeah
we
had
like
one
or
two
items.
We
call
them
and
we
have
everything
documented
who
we
call
and
some
people
don't
answer
right
right.
So
that's
the
reason
last
month
why
why
we
went
that
route?
There
was.
A
But
but
I
know
we
had
discussions
about
it
before
several
minutes
back
yes,
so
it's
just
something
to
to
discuss
or
to
think
about
see
which
which
way
you
want
to
go.
Is
there
any
other
questions
or
discussion?
K
And
for
those
those
who
had
referees,
Across,
America
I
came
here
last
year
and
thank
you
for
letting
me
use
this
forum
to
tell
you
about
it.
Threes
Across
America
was
founded
over
30
years
ago.
It
is
a
non-profit
organization,
it
was
founded
by
Maryland,
Karen
Worcester
and
it's
just
a
beautiful
ceremony
to
honor
our
veterans,
all
throughout
the
United
States
3
700
cemeteries
last
year
and
overseas,
and
over
close
to
3
million
raised,
were
laid
last
year.
Last
year
in
Laredo
we
had
our
first
Race
Across
America
ceremony,
and
it
was
absolutely
beautiful.
K
It
was
definitely
history
making
here
in
Laredo
and
to
keep
this
moving
forward.
We
will
have
a
ceremony
this
year
and
hopefully
for
every
year
to
come.
We
had
everybody
out
there
from
schools
bands.
You
know
the
multi-agency
color
guard,
which
was
absolutely
beautiful,
our
Convoy
coming
from
Harley-Davidson
and
all
the
schools
that
were
out
there
I
mean
it
was
400,
kids,
I,
think
and
then,
of
course,
we
had
rotc's
and
basically
it's
just
another
way
for
the
community
of
veterans
to
be
together
and
for
one
minute
one.
Second,
one
moment
we
all
stand
for.
K
One
reason,
and
that
is
to
remember
our
fallen
to
honor
those
who
serve
and
to
teach
our
youth
the
value
of
Freedom,
so
I'd
like
to
continue
it
this
year
and
keep
on
going
and
I'm
holding
the
meeting
LNF
tomorrow
at
6
30
throughout
the
year
I'll
be
going
around,
and
this
year
it's
December
16th
and
it
will
be
at
the
city
and
Catholic
cemeteries.
The
price
did
go
up
to
17
a
reef.
K
I
I
do
have
groups
where
it's
two
for
three,
where
we
can
buy
two
reefs
and
get
one
free
overall,
like
I,
said
I'm
really
excited
about
this
year.
Last
year,
I
felt
that
we
made
history
here.
It
was
a
beautiful
ceremony
and
not
only
myself
but
I
think
there
was
a
lot
of
Tears
shed
and
I'm
ready
to
do
it
again
this
year.
So
with
all
of
your
help
and
everybody
coming
together
and
I,
think
it's
going
to
be
another
beautiful
one
this
year
as
well.
K
Were
there
it
was,
it
was
really
pretty
and
I
I
hope
to
do
it
again.
This
year,
like
I,
said
and
and
for
every
year
to
come-
and
you
know,
I
was
so
touched
by
the
kids-
I
mean
Melton
Elementary
School
released
and
released
in
the
balloons
you
know
before
we
had
the
actual
reflame
that
was
really
beautiful
and
I
intend.
This
year
we
have
a
choir
this
year
that
we're
going
to
have
come
out
to
so
so
far.
K
I
have
a
lot
of
things
confirmed
already
like
the
mariachi
band
wants
to
come
back,
which
obviously
that
was
beautiful.
The
multi-agency
that
color
guard
was
to
die.
For
you
know
we
are
definitely
going
to
have
a
convoy
again
and
I'm
gonna
try
to
stay
around
the
same
lines
we
had
yet
last
year,
but
I
mean
if
people
have
suggestions
or
ideas,
we're
all
open
for
it,
but
we
kind
of
want
to
stay
along
the
lines
of
the
Reeves.
K
K
You
know
it's
a
Memory
that
the
man
will
have
forever
and
Rings
Across
America
was
able
to
give
it
to
him
and
I
think
that
that's
wonderful
so
this
year,
with
all
of
the
branches
that
we
have
to
cover,
if
anyone
knows
anyone
for
the
ceremonial
reason,
I
would
love
to
know
about
it,
because
I
think
it
would
be
great
and
we
could
have
specific
people.
I
mean
this
is
Laredo.
So,
basically
now
it's
like
Laredo
needs
to
kick
in
and
we'll
we'll
work
it
all
out.
Thank
you
awesome.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
K
I
Just
a
reminder:
where
do
we
go
to
get
to
read
or
to
donate
groceries?
Oh
yeah,
okay,.
K
C
K
Well,
inside
inside
the
folder
I
do
have
the
websites
it's
Reeves,
acrossamerica.org
txlrdo,
which
is
our
city
rates,
acrossamerica.org
TX
cccl
for
the
Catholic,
and
then,
if
you
just
want
to
do
the
two
for
three,
it's
wwwreesacrossamerica.org
1105,
which
takes
you
automatically
into
the
two
for
three
group,
and
we
do
have
a
couple
other
groups
on
there.
The
border
patrol
still
put
up
their
group
The
Pocahontas
group
this
year
has
has
put
in
two
for
three
group
as
well,
so
I'm
hoping
to
get
the
Pocahontas
Society
out
there
as
well
this
year.
K
L
L
Does
this
need
to
zoom
out
okay?
Well,
that's
the
important
part
for
Laredo,
specifically
we're
going
to
have
a
booth
staffed
by
our
veteran
team,
attorneys
from
9
A.M
to
noon
every
third
Tuesday
at
the
Laredo
VA
Outpatient
Clinic.
We
do
have
some
eligibility
guidelines,
which
is
the
federal
poverty
guidelines
and
these
numbers
right
here
on
the
side
multiplying
by
two,
since
it's
200
percent
of
this.
L
We
have
these
ask
a
lawyer
events
in
our
service
area,
which
includes
everything
down
from
the
valley
all
the
way
following
the
border
to
El
Paso
and
up
to
Austin.
So
we,
in
addition
to
our
ask
a
lawyers
that
are
usually
at
VA
clinics,
we've
partnered
with
recently
Victoria
County
at
their
veterans
service
office,
we're
going
to
have
them
with
Nueces
County.
We
have
one
upcoming
in
Del
Rio.
We
have
one
in
Austin.
We
have
two
in
San
Antonio.
L
We
have
four
in
the
valley
so
and
we
will
have
some
in
the
future
and
Eagle
Pass.
So
the
legal
issues
that
we
help
our
veterans
out
with
are
usually
civil
legal
matters,
so
we're
talking
about
expunctions
and
non-disclosures
of
criminal
records
or
arrest
records,
public
benefits,
which
include
temporary
assistance
for
needy
families,
snap
Medicare
or
Medicaid.
L
Usually,
it's
usually
for
appeals,
though,
if
a
veteran
or
any
person
is
losing
their
snap.
We
we
appeal
that
for
them
housing,
so
we
we
help
or
we
specifically
try
to
Target
our
homeless
or
or
housing
insecure
veterans.
So
if
we
have
a
veteran
that
is
at
risk
for
foreclosure
or
eviction,
if
they're
eligible
for
a
service,
we
try
to
represent
them
to
help
them
out
as
much
as
possible.
L
L
So
if
a
veteran
is
applying
for
a
service-connected
disability
and
they're
denied,
we
can
help
them
appeal
if
they're
eligible
for
our
services,
we
help
with
discharge
upgrades
either
through
the
review
boards
or
the
correction
boards
and
that's
for
character
of
service
like
honorable
other
than
honorable
or
a
narrative.
L
We
also
help
with
estate
planning,
Wills
probate
and
the
certain
types
of
family
law.
So,
in
addition
to
these,
two
Flyers,
which
is
in
a
a
few,
is
in
a
very
important
document
to
share
with
our
community.
We
also
have
more
countless
flyers
and
their
information.
Only.
We
have
flyers
on
General
veteran
benefits
on
discharges,
but
for
informational
purposes.
Only
so
we
can
cater
to.
We
have
Flyers
that
essentially
cater
to
colleges
for
Education,
maybe
to
our
vsos,
for
how
to
apply
for
benefits.
L
I
know
a
very
popular
or
a
frequent
topic
that
comes
up
is
veterans,
Disability
and
Child
Support.
We
have
a
flyer
with
information
on
how
how
that
works
legally
and
that
we
could
provide
our
office
is
at
1702,
Convent
Avenue,
it's
about
three
blocks
away
from
the
web
from
here.
Actually,
four
blocks
away,
and
if
you
all
have
events
that
we
could
table,
we
could
join.
Please,
let
me
know
well:
I
can
get
in
contact
with
our
attorneys.
They
can
join
us
for
whatever
you
may
have
going
on
for
the
community.
L
I
think
the
last
time
in
Del
Rio
we
had,
we
were
there
at
the
it
was
a
veterans,
health
fair.
So
we
were
there
as
well,
so
we
don't
have
to
have
a
strict.
Oh
we're
only
going
to
be
at
the
VA
I'm,
actually
I'm,
going
to
speak
to
Crystal
right
now
after
this
to
see
if
we
could
partner
up
and
maybe
have
our
Attorneys
at
the
mobile
units,
for
our
veterans,
that
can't
make
it
out
to
to
our
largest
cities,
where
we
have
these
events.
L
Oh-
and
these
are
our
phone
numbers
to
our
different
service
areas,
so
our
phone
numbers
are
staffed
by
veteran
project
paralegals.
L
L
So
these
are
the
phone
numbers
and
I
think
that's
all
I
have
to
say
for
now.
Does
anyone
have
any
questions
for
me?
You.
L
D
C
Yeah,
so
this
is
David
Lopez
you
mentioned
child
supports.
Can
education
actually
represent
veterans
with
child
support
or
I
suggest,
provided
guidance.
L
So
the
in
terms
of
child
support
at
the
moment,
the
only
it's
it
would
fall
under
family
law.
The
only
services
that
Texas
Rio
Grande
legal
aid
as
a
whole
is
providing
for
family
law
is
anything
that
has
to
do
with
domestic
violence,
mainly
due
to
the
fact
that,
when
the
pandemic
hit
the
rise
of
domestic
violence
at
home,
spite
to
the
point
where
our
family
team
was
they
just
had
too
much
on
their
plate
and
in
order
to
provide
services
they
had
to
limit
who
they
who
they
can
assist.
L
So
at
this
time,
no,
we
we
cannot
represent
any
person,
whether
they're
veterans
or
not,
for
child
support
cases,
but,
like
I
had
mentioned,
we
do
have
a
just
a
general
flyer
of
hey.
This
is
the
law,
and
this
is
how
child
support
interacts
with
VA,
disability
compensation
or
pension.
A
F
A
Thank
you.
Oh
you
mentioned
several
times
about
veterans
being
eligible
for
your
service.
Yes
and
you're
expounding
a
little
bit
on
the
eligibility.
Yes,
so.
L
There
are
a
few
exceptions
to
the
rule,
but
essentially
for
eligibility.
You
just
have
to
fall
under
the
federal
poverty
guidelines
for
households,
so
if
and
you
would
just
increase
that
by
200.
So
if
you
live
in
a
household
with
one
person,
you
could
make
up
to
sixty
thousand
dollars,
you'd
be
eligible
financially,
but
then,
when
you
apply,
we
still
have
to
our
attorneys
have
to
make
sure
that
the
case
that
something
can
be
done
with
the
case.
L
Yes,
it
has
to
be
understood,
yeah
so,
and
the
reason
that
there's
eligibility
is
because
we're
our
grantors
and
our
funders
have
those
restrictions
placed
on
us.
So
we
we
cannot
service
individuals
who
are
not
low
income
just
because
of
those
rules
that
we
have
placed
over
us
there.
You
go.
A
Next
item
in
the
agenda,
we
have
a
possible
action
by
Jesus
regarding
the
grand
opening
of
the
Vietnam
Veterans
Memorial
walking
trail
and
any
matters
incident.
There
too,
I
believe
that
that
item
has
been
a
has
been
discussing
and
and
taken
care
of,
unless
you
have
something
else
which
is
over
here.
To
add
to
that.
H
For
sure
I'm
going
to
ask
okay,
so
I
said
earlier
for
a
record
I'm
going
to
ask
our
country
he
had
planned
on
doing
the
ribbon
cutting
ceremony
at
the
walking
trail,
the
phone
number
of
day.
I,
don't
think
it's
going
to
happen,
but
regardless
I'm
going
to
ask
him
if
we
can
plan
it
for
after
Memorial
Day
and
also
I
wanted
to
thank
him
for
doing
what
he's
doing
for
veterans
and
and
name
it,
the
the
park
or
Plaza
via
non-vironment
Plaza.
H
As
you
know,
back
in
2016
with
councilman
and
staff
Charlie
San
Miguel
I
was
able
to
go
on
the
agenda
for
a
chair,
Council
and
change
the
name
from
North
Central
Park
to
Vietnam
Veterans,
Memorial
Park
and
no
Central
Park
Plaza
the
land
that
was
adjacent
to
that
to
the
to
the
park
over
there
I
requested
to
see
if
I
could
build
a
a
walking
trail
there.
That
was
back
in
2016
and
they
told
me
yes
so
architect,
memo
Benavides.
H
He
went
out
there
with
his
architect
and
they
designed
a
walking
trail
in
the
form
of
the
shape
of
the
of
South
Vietnam,
and
everything
was
looking
real
good
until
they
decided
that
they
were
going
to
use
that
land
to
build
their
Ada
or
add
park
for
the
kids
and
I
said.
Well,
that's
a
much
better
idea.
Okay,
so
from
there
I
went
looking
for
several
places
in
Laredo
and
and
ran
into
you
know.
Yes,
maybe,
as
you
know,
and
the
last
time,
I
the
last
race
I
looked
into.
H
Was
that
part
where
councilman
Gutierrez
is
going
to
build
our
our
walking
trail
and
I
want
to
thank
him
for
that
for
making
it
a
reality?
H
And
I
also
want
to
thank
president
for
helping
me
with
I've
contacted
the
three
Gold
Star
Mothers
he's
already
contacted
them,
invited
them
to
the
memorial
and
I
want
to
thank
doc
Alfred,
who
usually
comes
to
our
meetings
for
going
to
the
wall
at
the
Vietnam
Wall
in
Washington,
and
making
Prince
of
all
the
28
veterans,
and
we
want
to
do
a
a
flag
of
each
veteran
next
to
the
tree
that
we're
gonna
stay.
Honor
honor,
that
veteran
with
so
I
need
to
I
have
to
thank
those
three
people.
B
A
You
thank
you.
Thank
you
very
much.
Next
item
agenda
that
we
have
discussing
with
possible
action
by
Lupe
Alvarez
on
the
Memorial
Day
ceremony
of
the
city,
cemetery
and
other
matters
incident.
Two
I
believe
that
Adam
has
been
has
been
taken
care
of
earlier,
so
we're
gonna.
No,
no
action
on
that
item
next
item
the
agenda.
We
have
presentation
with
possible
actions,
but
Ricardo
quijano
for
a
update
on
the
soldiers,
Cross
Monument
and
new
matters
incident
to
Mr
quijano.
M
E
M
Next
on
the
item,
it's
going
to
be
the
soldiers
cross,
that's
going
to
be
at
the
cedar.
Riddle
Cemetery
the
Webb
County
Commissioners
Court
approved
the
soldiers
crossed
to
be
bought,
and
the
test
was
given
to
the
Webb
County
Veteran
Service,
Officer,
David
garzi,
so
David
Garza
and
myself.
We
started
researching
looking
up.
M
M
M
This
is
going
to
go
on
the
top
face
all
right
and
Mr
Rogers
correct
me
anywhere.
F
M
M
F
M
Yeah
was
the
actual
soldier's
cross,
and
here
it
is
so
I
could
see
it.
That's
going
to
go
on
top.
Okay,
just
select
it,
it's
real!
It's
a
life
size.
So
if
you
put
your
hand
on
it
on
the
M16
on
the
ribs,
it's
like
like,
if
you're
actually
holding
an
M16
I
its
life-size
statue,
wrong
style.
Okay,
it's
already
there
today.
M
M
M
Now
we
already
spoke
to
director
General
trila
as
to
where
it's
going
to
be
going.
M
G
B
G
M
A
business
picture
this
is
going
to
be
taken
off
right
and
the
soldiers
crossed
the
wording
everything's
going
to
be
facing
the
flags
because
there's
they
took
out
the
flag
and
they
posted
Mr,
Villa
posted
erected.
Another
pole,
flagpole,
that's
even
bigger
for
the
black
erase
team
and
more
so
you're
gonna
have
EOS
Hollywood
site.
The
soldiers
crossed
on
the
other
side
sure
right
and
they
should
have
it
ready
by
Memorial
Day.
F
So
the
fifth
well,
we
should
get
the
everything
already
assembled
sometime
next
week
and
then
and
then
getting
it
placed
probably
the
next
week
after
that,
or
so
it's
pretty
it's
it's
done.
It's
everything
is
here,
it's
just
putting
it
together
and
doing
the
engraving.
It's
the
last
piece
that
is
needed.
M
M
Laredo
and
genrefila
his
staff,
David,
Santos
and,
of
course,
Mr
Garza
for
working
on
this
and
making
it
happen.
It
does
take
time,
but
it
got
done
any
questions.
Any
questions,
I've
discussion.
D
A
Again,
thank
you
very
much
there's
so
many
people
involved
in
in
making
all
these
monuments
and
and
recognitions
for
for
all
our
veterans
and
fallen
soldiers
that
there's
just
too
many
to
to
thank-
and
we
probably
missed
some
names,
but
if
we
did
it
without
a
purpose,
but
we
thank
everybody.
That's
been
involved
is
going
to
be
a
great
Memorial,
Day
again
John
talking
about
that.
A
Before
we
solve
for
a
German,
we
had
a
discussion
sometime
back
about
maybe
getting
some
kind
of
mechanism
where
we
can
coordinate
all
these
events
in
Memorial
Day.
Obviously
we
couldn't
make
it
happen
for
this
year,
but
maybe
for
the
following
years.
We
can,
because
there
is
a
lot
of
events
that
go
on
in
that
particular
day,
so
whether
what
you
mentioned
about
maybe
having
the
river
cutting
another
day,
other
Veterans
Day,
but
Memorial
Day,
rather
might
be
a
good
idea.
M
We
just
said
about
the
events
that
is
correct
and
having
the
black
widows
bring
in
bringing
it
up
made
sense.
Absolutely
they
make
sense.
She
has
sheep
or
the
black
widows.
They
bring
it
up
to
this
committee
ahead
of
time.
But
it's
about
us
as
the
committee
and
committee
members.
We
need
to
follow
up
and
make
it
happen.
Also
I
believe
there
was
enough
time,
but
we
could
always
make
it
happen
and.
M
A
H
This
is
going
to
be
in
front
of
the
hero's
law
right
where
the
flag
is
yes,
sir
right.
Okay.
So,
instead
of
because
the
closing
of
the
event,
we
were
going
to
move
all
the
people
around
to
the
to
that
Memorial
Monument
to
the
gold
star
monument
and
do
the
unveiling,
but
before
we
do
that,
perhaps
kejano
and
his
group
can
do
their
unveiling.
Since
it's
going
to
be
right
there
in
front,
so
people
don't
have
to
go,
get
up
and
go
to
two
different
places.
