From YouTube: March 25, 2015 Executive Committee Meeting
Description
Minneapolis Executive Committee Meeting
A
Good
morning,
I
will
call
to
order
this
regularly
scheduled
meeting
of
the
executive
committee
for
March
25th
2015
I
am
mayor,
Betsy
Hodges,
chair
of
the
committee
joined
this
morning
by
councilmember
Reich,
Council,
President,
Johnson
and
councilmember
Gordon.
We
are
a
quorum
of
the
committee
and
can
conduct
the
business.
The
city's
business
council
vice-president
glidden,
was
not
able
to
make
it
today
for
family
business
mm-hmm.
We
have
two
items
for
discussion
and
two
items
for
a
potential
closed
session
today.
A
B
City
of
Minneapolis
has
a
hundred
and
forty-nine
employees
that
are
not
represented
by
bargaining
units
and
are
not
appointed
at-will
employees.
The
total
annualized
cost
of
these
employees
on
January,
the
first
of
2015,
was
12
million
forty
3692
dollars.
The
human
resources
department
is
recommended
that
recommending
that
the
wages
of
each
incumbent
be
adjusted
upward
by
two-point-two
percent,
effective
January,
effective
februari,
the
first
of
2015.
B
This
adjustment
for
2015
has
a
cost
of
301
thousand
dollars
and
is
calculated
consistent
with
how
we
calculate
the
adjustments
for
the
bargaining
unit.
The
total
percentage
cost,
including
step
progression,
is
two-point-five
percent.
Human
resources
department
is
recommending
that
you
approve
these
adjustments
and
forward
these
recommendations
to
the
Ways
and
Means
Committee.
A
Then
we'll
move
approval
for
both
items
of
the
staff
recommendation
or
at
least
for
the
non
represented
employees
I
will
move
the
staff
recommendation
any
discussion
seeing
none
all
in
approval,
please
signify
by
saying
aye
opposed
tensions
that
carries
any
discussion
on
and
then
I
will
move
the
second
about
the
politically
appointed
employees.
Any
discussion,
seeing
none
all
an
approval,
please
signify
by
saying
aye,
aye
opposed
abstentions
that
carries
so.
Then
we
will
adjourn
to
room
315
or.
B
I
did
the
first
time
just
dealt
with
the
non
represented
employees.
It's
all
right,
but
I
wouldn't
want
people
to
think
that
the
politically
appointed
employees
is
at
2.5%,
far
less
for
2015.
It
actually
exceeds
the
2.5%.
By
about
five
thousand
dollars
for
2015.
For
the
politically
appointed
employees,
we
moved
it
to
februari
the
first
for
equity
amongst
all
of
the
employees.
It
seemed
like
a
relatively
small
price
council.
