From YouTube: July 20, 2016 Zoning & Planning
Description
Minneapolis Zoning & Planning Committee Meeting
A
Good
morning
all
calls
regular
meeting
of
the
zoning
and
planning
committee
at
our
rescheduled
time
today
is
July
twentieth,
2016,
I'm,
Lisa,
bender
I
chair
the
committee.
We
have
a
quorum
including
council
members,
Reich
Andrew,
Johnson,
Council,
President,
Johnson
and
council
member
Warsaw
me.
We
have
11
items
today.
All
on
the
consent
agenda
item
number
one
is
a
right-of-way
vacation
for
the
University
of
Minnesota,
a
portion
of
23rd
avenue
southeast.
This
is
to
deny
the
application
item
number
two's,
denying
an
application
for
a
vacation
of
the
right-of-way
of
fourth
Street
southeast.
A
In
the
Planning
Commission
discussion,
we
recommended
that
the
staff
recommendation
of
denial,
because
these
are
pretty
significant
stretches-
the
rest
of
the
applications
for
vacations
were
all
recommended
for
approval.
So
that
is
item
number
three,
which
is
a
vacation
of
union
street.
Southeast
item
number
four
is
vacation
of
part
of
pleasant
street
southeast
item
number.
A
Item
number
8
is
referring
to
staff,
an
ordinance
related
to
fraternities
and
sororities
item
number
9
is
referring
to
staff,
an
ordinance
amending
our
code
relating
to
and
off-premise
advertising
signs
and
billboards.
Item
number
10
is
referring
to
staff.
An
update
of
our
accessory
dwelling
unit
ordinance
brought
forward
by
staff.
An
item
number
11
is
referring
to
staff,
an
ordinance
amending
beginning
a
rezoning
study
for
the
Lowry
Hill
East
neighborhood,
so
those
I'll
move
those
11
items
see
if
there's
any
discussion.
Council
president,
a
bank.
B
Manager,
I
guess
I
would
just
ask
staff
and
your
self
manager
and
the
reaction
of
the
University
of
Minnesota
to
the
denial,
obviously
didn't
appeal
it.
So
what's
what
does
it
interrupt
their
plans
for
this
particular
space
or,
what's
the
accommodation
that
they're
able
to
come
up
with
if
they
get
denied.
A
C
Sure
bender
council
members,
that
is
correct,
the
University
of
Minnesota
in
the
city
of
Minneapolis,
are
doing
a
transportation
study
around
the
university
currently
and
so
until
that
concludes
the
Planning
Commission
and
staff,
both
from
public
works
and
seed
pod
felt
that
we
should
not
vacate
these
two
segments
of
street
and
that
we
could
re-evaluate
that
in
the
future.
Okay.
Thank
you
very
much.
No
problem.
