open
for
the
city's
2018
community
connections
conference
plan
for
February
10th
at
the
Minneapolis
Convention
Center.
This
year's
conference,
hosted
by
the
neighborhood
and
community
relations
department,
will
be
focused
on
pursuing
change
through
collective
action.
There
will
be
more
than
70
exhibitors,
featuring
neighborhood
groups,
city
departments,
nonprofits
and
other
community-based
organizations.

City
Council
has
approved
franchise
fee
increases
to
fund
programs
supporting
the
city's
energy
and
climate
change
goals.
The
gas
and
electricity
utility
franchise
fees
will
increase
by
half
a
percentage
point
about
59
cents
monthly
for
the
average
household,
the
money
will
help
residents
and
businesses
make
the
best
use
of
energy
conservation
programs.
