this
is
an
update
on
the
northside
tornado
recovery
efforts
for
the
city
of
minneapolis
for
tuesday
may
31st,
I'm
gao
vang
there's
a
new
way
for
people
affected
by
the
storm
to
get
to
the
services
they
need.
A
free
shuttle.
Bus
can
now
take
folks
to
the
agencies
that
offer
those
services
14
different
shuttle
stops
connect
people
with
food,
social
services,
housing,
clothing,
resources
and
more.

The
shuttle
runs
10
a.m
to
3
p.m.
Today,
through
friday,
call
3-1-1
for
a
list
of
shuttle
bus
stops
or
go
to
the
city's
website.
The
disaster
recovery
center
at
far
view
park
is
transitioning
from
the
immediate
response
to
longer-term
efforts.
Starting
today,
staff
will
direct
those
in
need
to
the
free
shuttle
bus
that
can
take
them
to
locations
all
around
the
city
where
services
can
be
accessed
and
the
free
shuttle
picks
up
and
drops
off
at
fireview
park.

addition
to
four
other
parks
in
north
minneapolis
on
wednesday,
minneapolis
development
review
will
open
a
northside
satellite
office.
This
office
will
provide
construction
related,
permitting
services
to
homeowners
affected
by
the
tornado.
The
center
will
be
open
at
hamilton
school
at
4131
dupont,
avenue
north
it's
open
from
8
am
to
4
30
pm
and
remember.
You'll
need
to
use
a
licensed
contractor
to
repair
your
house
for
a
list
of
licensed
contractors,
including
contractors
on
the
north
side
go
to
the
city's
website.

Only
people
who
have
registered
will
be
able
to
participate
in
saturday's,
cleanup
effort,
the
city's
water
treatment
facility
in
fridley
caught
the
tall
end
of
the
storm
that
hit
the
north
side.
Many
trees
were
toppled
on
the
grounds
and
some
buildings
had
damage
to
roofs
and
skylights
throughout
the
storm
and
the
cleanup
the
plant
has
kept
producing
a
clean,
safe
drinking
water
for
the
city
for
