From YouTube: Martin Park Ribbon Cutting
Description
Integris Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Courage Trail Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Martin Park Nature Center, November 3rd, 2015
A
Wilderness
matters
is
a
not-for-profit
organization,
founded
on
the
principle
that
time
spent
in
the
out-of-doors
experiencing
nature
is
an
essential
part
of
a
meaningful
life
and
directly
enhances
our
physical,
mental
and
spiritual
well-being.
We
believe
that
providing
universal
accessibility
to
public
nature
parks,
wildlife
areas,
trails
and
other
outdoor
venues
is
necessary
to
improve
the
lives
of
the
nearly
twenty
percent
of
the
population
that
have
some
type
of
disability.
A
Wilderness
matters
is
most
grateful
and
gives
a
heartfelt
thanks
to
you,
the
city
of
Oklahoma,
City,
Mayor,
Cornett,
members
of
the
Oklahoma
City
City
Council's
staff
committee,
members
and
volunteers
of
the
parks
department.
Thank
you
all
so
much
friends
of
Martin,
Park,
Center
and
others
who
gave
their
support
and
encouragement
to
proceed
with
our
mission
to
improve
accessibility
in
this
particular
part
and
add
new
important
features,
experience
and
experiences
designed
to
help
those
who
are
in
some
way
disabled
while
continuing
to
preserve
the
unique
ecological
features
of
this
sanctuary.
A
This
great
part,
we
have
taken
what
was
formerly
trai
layout
here
and
turn
it
into
a
potential
lifeline
for
those
needing
help
in
seeking
the
out-of-doors.
The
trail
has
now
been
rightly
named:
Jim
Thorpe
rehabilitation,
courage,
trail
on
behalf
and
in
thanks
to
Integris
health
and
integris
rehabilitation
hospital
for
their
most
generous
contribution.
Once.
B
Again,
Oklahoma
City
has
put
together
a
public-private
partnership
that
is
doing
incredible
things
in
our
city,
and
you
know
when
you
live
here.
You
don't
always
realize
it,
but
things
like
this
aren't
happening
in
a
lot
of
places.
Yet
in
Oklahoma
City
it
seems
like
it
happens
every
week,
or
certainly
every
month,
we're
doing
something
that
is,
you
know,
borderline
extraordinary
another
amenity
in
our
city
that
people
are
starting
to
take
for
granted
and
they
should
not.
B
You
know
this
is
the
best
of
times
for
Oklahoma
City
and
we
are
taking
in
vain
each
other
wilderness
matters.
A
round
of
applause
for
that
group
that
that
oversees
the
the
park
and
looks
after
it.
You
know
just
opening
up
something
like
this
to
the
general
public
can
be
a
little
bit
scary
without
some
level
of
oversight
from
the
citizenry
involved
and
I
think
over
a
wilderness
matters,
as
is
as
good
as
it
gets
when
it
comes
to
oversight.
B
You
have
come
out
here
today
as
I
think
to
be
a
cheerleader
for
Oklahoma
City
and
to
be
a
cheerleader
for
for
ideas
like
this
that
take
Oklahoma
City
from
where
it
is
and
just
take
it
up
one
more
notch.
We
appreciate
you.
Thank
you
very
much
for
having
me
out
here
today
and
I,
look
forward
to
looking
around.
