Description
San Bruno City Council Meeting April 27, 2021
4. Announcements/Presentations
A
Right,
we'll
move
on
to
item
a
which
is
receive
update
on
covet
19
response
efforts,
jennifer
dion.
B
Good
evening,
thank
you
mayor
and
members
of
the
city,
council
and
members
of
the
public
that
are
here
this
evening,
we're
just
pulling
up
the
slideshow
now.
B
I
am
here
this
evening
to
present
to
you
an
update
on
covet
19,
and
this
evening
I
will
go
through
the
blueprint
for
a
safer
economy,
covet
statistics,
vaccine
and
testing
our
local
services
and
resources,
and
of
course
I
will
be
available
for
questions
as
soon
as
we're
done,
and
so
I
will
start
with
the
blueprint
for
a
safer
economy.
B
County
metrics
are
updated
on
a
weekly
basis,
and
earlier
today
the
state
announced
that
we
will
remain
in
the
moderate
or
the
orange
tier
of
the
blueprint.
So
there
are
no
changes.
That
means
that
all
indoor
business
operations
with
modifications
will
remain
the
same
at
this
time.
B
Moving
on
to
county
statistics,
starting
at
the
left
hand,
side
of
your
screen,
41
389
total
cover
19
cases
in
the
city
on
the
lower
chart
in
the
middle
of
the
screen.
It
says
cases
by
episode.
8.
you
can
see.
There
was
a
peak
that
has
now
declined
likely
as
a
result
of
an
increase
in
vaccinations
and
then
on
the
right
hand,
side.
It's
a
total
death
listing
of
564
county
wide
in
san
bruno.
B
There
have
been
a
total
of
2
310
cases
and,
most
recently
in
the
last
30
days,
a
total
of
50
cases
in
regards
to
vaccinations
countywide.
There
have
been
400
441,
818
vaccines
administered,
that's
just
about
68.8
of
the
county
population
and
of
that
441
thousand
65
of
that
those
individuals
have
been
fully
vaccinated
in
san
bruno
and
county-wide.
For
that
matter,
there
has
been
a
large
effort
on
vaccinating
those
in
the
health
equity
quartile
and
in
san
bruno
67.2
percent
of
our
population
that
fall
under
that
category
have
been
vaccinated.
B
That's
a
total
of
three
thousand
three
hundred
and
seventy
one
and,
on
the
right
hand,
upper
corner
of
the
screen.
It
shows
your
your
county
percentage
is
55.8,
so
we're
just
about
12
points,
or
so
above
that
county
rate,
moving
on
to
vaccine
availability
and
testing
those
that
still
need
to
be
vaccinated,
eligibility
for
californians,
ages,
16
and
over
has
opened.
B
So
anyone
that's
interested
in
getting
a
vaccination
should
sign
up
to
be
vaccinated.
There
are
several
locations
that
are
offering
the
vaccine
depending
on
supply.
There
was
a
limited
supply,
however,
the
county
announced
earlier
this
week
and
even
earlier
today
that
there
will
be
a
resumption
of
the
jensen
or
johnson
johnson
vaccine,
which
will
increase
that
supply
in
our
area.
Vaccines
are
available
at
local
pharmacies,
such
as
cvs,
walgreens
and
costco,
and
you
can
find
a
location
by
using
the
link
on
the
screen.
B
It's
vaccinefinder.org,
which
will
identify
a
pharmacy
and
vaccine
type
that
you
can
sign
up,
for.
There
are
also
mass
vaccinations
that
will
be
launched
in
the
in
the
remaining
balance
of
this
week
as
well
as
next
week,
and
so,
if
you
already
signed
up
for
my
turn
or
for
the
county
notification
system,
you
should
be
notified
about
those
mass
vaccination
site
opportunities
in
regards
to
testing.
Over
the
last
six
months,
the
city
has
partnered,
with
san
mateo
county,
to
offer
local
testing
to
our
community.
B
B
B
Tests
will
be
available
from
10
am
to
2
pm
and
although
an
appointment
is
preferred,
it's
not
necessary,
and
I
do
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
of
those
community
members
and
to
the
staff
members
that
put
this
site
in
place.
It
has
been
a
real
success
and
benefit
to
the
local
community.
Here,
although
our
testing
site
will
be
closing
down,
the
county
does
have
a
testing
site
as
well
in
our
jurisdiction.
B
That's
at
975,
steve
lane.
There
will
be
no
change
to
that
schedule
and
they'll
continue
to
offer
no
cost
testing.
That's
tuesday
through
saturday
9
a.m
to
5
p.m.
An
appointment
is
required
and
there's
a
link
on
the
screen,
or
you
can
connect
to
smcgov.org
forward
slash
testing.
B
There
will
not
be
testing
at
this
site
this
upcoming
friday
and
saturday.
So
if
it
happens
to
be
that
you're
interested
in
being
tested
this
upcoming
saturday,
our
site
at
530
huntington
will
be
available
for
you,
city
services,
we
launched
the
library
reopening
or
for
browsing
ghost
services
this
past
monday
april
19th.
B
That
has
been
a
success
and
we
welcome
many
back
to
the
library.
We've
also
launched
our
community
services
activity
guide,
which
includes
summer
programming
and
camps,
and
so
both
of
these
images
are
linked
to
their
respective
websites.
B
Last
meeting
there
was
interest
and
a
question
about
the
reopening
of
picnic
tables,
and
that
is
a
perfect
example
of
what
the
eoc
and
directors
are
continuing
to
review.
So
at
this
time,
there's
no
change
to
those
operations,
but
they
are
continually
being
reviewed
and
the
last
section
I
have
for
you
tonight
are
resources,
and
so
here
we
have
city
partnerships.
B
We
are
again
partnering
with
the
baec
and
their
partners
to
offer
a
valuable
opportunity
to
give
back
to
our
local
businesses,
and
this
is
in
regards
to
the
small
business
micro
grant
program
may
sound
familiar
look
familiar.
The
same
program
was
launched
in
the
fall
of
2020
several
businesses.
B
16
businesses
were
awarded
grants
to
operate,
and
this
is
a
relaunch
of
the
same
program.
So
the
applications
for
this
program
will
open
this
upcoming
friday
april
30th.
There
is
an
informational
session
that
is
required
to
be
eligible
to
be
awarded
grants,
but
we're
happy
to
work
with
the
bay
area
entrepreneur
center
again
to
help
get
the
word
out
and
what
we're
trying
to
do
is
put
together
a
small
team
to
walk
to
businesses.
B
B
The
small
business
administration
has
launched
their
restaurant
revitalization
fund
and
that's
additional
funding
that
could
be
available
to
those
in
the
restaurant
industry
in
other
several
categories.
There's
a
link
on
the
screen,
as
well
as
the
california
rent
relief
rent
relief
is
available
for
past
due
rent
and
utilities,
which
is
through
the
state
also
linked
on
the
site
and
for
those
with
food
insecurity.
Second
harvest
of
silicon
valley
still
offers
several
pickup
opportunities
for
those
that
are
in
need
of
food.
B
That
will
conclude
my
presentation
for
this
evening.
I
encourage
you
all
to
stay
connected.
If
you
don't
already
follow
us
on
social
media,
please
feel
free
to
join
us
as
soon
as
possible.
That's
next
door.
Facebook,
instagram
twitter,
as
well
as
our
emergency
notification,
alert
system,
smc
alert
and
with
that
I'm
available
for
any
questions
you
may
have.
A
D
You
thank
you
for
the
presentation
and
for
for
all
these
these
presentations
for
the
past
many
many
months
and
keeping
us
informed,
I'm
very
very
pleased
with
the
with
the
the
results
and
and
the
there
are
continued
movement
toward
the
post
cova
day,
which
is
starting
to
look
to
really
look
like
it's
on
the
horizon.
For
us,
I
want
to
remind
everybody
to
please
still,
you
know,
wear
your
masks
and
practice
social
distancing
and
you
know
be
cognizant
of
gatherings.
D
D
I
do
have
one
question
is:
is
there
any
type
of
program
that
you're
aware
of,
and
I'm
I'm
happy
to
you
know
to
get
the
answer
in
it
offline
or
in
a
future
meeting
any
kind
of
program
that
we're
aware
of
for
identifying
homebound
residents
in
san
bruno
or
elsewhere
in
the
county?
Who
may
not
have
the
ability
to
get
out
to
get
vaccinated
and
to
identify
those
people
and
find
out
whether
they
have
or
have
not
been
vaccinated
and
work
with
them?.
D
B
So
I
do
have
a
response
for
you,
council
member
hamilton.
So,
yes,
there
is
a
program
that
is
established
through
the
county.
There
is
a
team
that
is
outreaching
to
homebound
citizens
of
the
county
and
visiting
each
of
those
in
order
to
administer
the
vaccine.
B
D
Great
great
that's
great,
to
hear.
Thank
you
very
much.
That's
that's
one
of
the
other
tools
in
the
toolbox
here.
Thank
you
very
much.
E
Thank
you,
mr
mayor.
So
first
of
all
you
know,
jennifer,
you
you've
progressed
so
to
become
so
efficient
at
doing
these
things
and
there's
like
so
much
data
that
you
that
you
give
us
every
week
and
you
do
it
always
very
succinctly.
You
get
through
the
whole
slide
deck
so
efficiently.
So
thank
you,
for
you
know
providing
these
reports
consistently
and
you
know
my
question.
E
This
time
was
specifically
around
a
couple
of
the
graphs,
because
I
know
we've
gotten
sort
of
used
to
looking
at
these
dashboards
and
we
kind
of
I've
gotten
to
the
point
where
I
just
kind
of
gloss
over
it.
We
look
at
the
numbers
and
we
think,
okay,
you
know
the
numbers
are
what
the
numbers
are,
but
I'm
wondering
so
50
cases
in
the
last
30
days
compared
to
what
we're
seeing
in
the
other
cities.
Is
that
good?
Is
that
bad?
Is
it
average
based
on
our
population?
E
I
I'm
I'm
struggling
to
interpret
that
number.
B
Sure
so
what
I
could
do
is
pull
up
that
information.
I
don't
have
it
off
the
top
of
my
head,
but
in
reviewing
the
data
in
preparing
for
this
presentation,
the
the
county
has
a
system
that's
color
coded
and
for
our
population
size
it
was
within
average
throughout
the
county
and
so
and
actually.
E
And
actually,
I
think
you
answered
the
question
is
that
we
are
somewhere
on
par
with
with
our
neighbors,
so
no
worse,
no
better,
but
but
on
par
and
then
farther
along.
We
have
something:
that's
called
an
equity
quartile
and-
and
if
you
don't
know
this
answer
I
understand
I
know
this
stuff
is
very
statistic-y
and
you
may
not
have
the
answer
right
away,
but
you
know
we're
seeing
these
equity
quartiles
now
and
I
was
wondering
if
there
was
a
little
bit
of
a
description
that
we
could
put
along
these.
B
Absolutely
through
the
mayor,
so
I
can
include
that
in
future
presentations,
but
the
health
equity
quartile
is
essentially
targeting
those
disadvantaged
communities
within
or
neighborhoods
within
a
community
in
order
to
make
sure
that
the
vaccine
is
distributed
in
an
equitable
fashion.
To
those
that
may
be
in
need.
E
Right
right,
yeah
and
then
so
the
question
is
so
based
on
that
graph,
that
we
see
that
looks
like
a
spinal
column.
You
know,
are
we
doing
well?
E
Are
we
in
san
bruno
equitable
or
are
we
do
we
need
to
do
more
and
so
that
that
would
be
my
my
question
and
also-
and
I
know
I
think
I
know
the
answer
to
this-
that
you
know
the
data
that
we
get
from
the
county
is
pretty
limited,
and
my
responses
from
the
county
to
my
inquiries
have
come
back
equally
vague
and
you
know
I
always
wondered
if
we
could
do
more
without
the
data.
E
Clearly,
we
can't
but
to
really
understand
where
our
population
is
having
problems,
and
I
think
I
know
the
county
was
doing
contact
tracing,
and
so
what
I
was
wondering
is
you
know
if
our
if
our
residents
are
getting
infected,
how
are
they
getting
infected
and
is
there
anything
that
we
can
do
to
either
get
the
word
out
about
you
know
taking
precautions?
Do
we
need
to
do
a
better
job
at
providing
multilingual
information
on
vaccinations,
but
but
it's
hard
it's
hard
to
say.
E
If,
if
we
don't
know
who
those
50
were-
or
you
know,
the
3
000
somewhat
that
were
infected
over
the
course
of
the
past
year,
and
so
you
know
I'm
wondering
if,
as
a
city,
we
could
continue
to
push
for
for
more
data.
That's
actually
actionable
this.
This
data
is
interesting,
but
none
of
it
is
really
actionable
to
us
and
that
we
there's
very
little
that
we
can
do
to
change
those
numbers.
E
F
Yes,
thank
you
and
thank
you
jennifer
dianos.
For
for
your
presentation.
F
I
just
wanted
to
encourage
everybody
to
continue
doing
doing
the
right
thing
right
being
careful,
the
basics,
you
know
staying
distance
when
you
can
wear
the
mask
at
all
times,
wash
your
hands
if
you're
not
feeling
well
stay
home,
and
I
can
tell
you
today-
I
I
got
my
first
shot.
It
took.
It
was
a
little
tough
because
there
was
a
little
bit
of
a
shortage
in
the
last
week
and
the
analogy
that
somebody
told
me
and
which
I
believe,
which
is
true.
F
It's
kind
of
like
buying
a
concert
ticket
because
there
were
a
limited
amount
of
supply,
and
then
I
had
to
look
at
am
I
gonna
drive
to
merced?
Am
I
gonna
go
to
modesto
san
francisco
and
this
morning,
or
yesterday
evening,
a
bunch
of
vaccination
locations
were
available
in
redwood
city.
F
Trying
to
get
one
in
in
south
city
would
have
taken
me
another
two
weeks,
so
people
have
to
be
a
little
bit
resourceful
and
be
willing
to
maybe
drive
a
little
further
out
and
I'll
encourage
you
to
do
it.
G
Am
I'm
at
dual
duty
tonight
with
another
special
meeting
going
on,
so
I
apologize
there's
disruptions.
I
think
my
I
first
of
all
just
wanted
to
thank
you
for
the
update
on
the
library,
I'm
so
happy
that
it
is
open.
I
also
wanted
to
thank
the
staff
who
put
together
the
community
services
activity
guide.
G
We
are
all
signed
up
for
the
summer
and
I
want
to
make
sure
the
public
is
aware
that
they
are
not
online
classes,
there's
actually
a
wide
variety
of
options
for
in-person
activities
for
the
kids,
and
I
really
recommend,
if
you
haven't
taken
a
look
at
the
activity
guide,
there's
a
lot
of
really
fun
things
for
the
kids
in
there
so
and
they're
they're
in
person
activities.
So
thank
you
for
whoever
from
staff
put
that
together.
It's
it's
a
great
broad.
G
You
know
array
of
hobbies
and
coding,
and
you
know
pokemon
legos,
and
it's
just.
I
think
the
kids
are
going
to
love
it.
The
other
thing
I
just
wanted
to
mention
is:
I
am
on
the
the
county,
wide
equity
vexing
committee,
so
I
try
to
give
updates.
The
update
that
I
wanted
to
give
is
that
there
will
be
vaccines
in
san
bruno.
They
will
be
on.
G
So
this
is
going
to
be
the
pfizer
vaccination
and
I
think
it's
exciting
that
this
is
going
to
be
our
first
location
here
in
san
bernardino
there
has
been
advocacy
around
sanborn
bernardino,
I
think
I'm
sure
the
council
members
I've
been
advocating
I've
been
speaking
with
the
supervisor,
so
I'm
really
glad
that
we
are
having
them
here
and
in
that
there
is
a
significant
amount
of
funding
and
efforts
going
into
county-wide
multilingual,
really
just
communication,
because
there's
still
a
lot
of
fear
in
different
communities
around
vaccinations.
G
So
there's
in
you
know,
tagalog,
there's
spanish,
there's
samoan!
There
is
just
just
about
all
of
our
county-wide
communities
that
are
of
san
mateo
county.
So
it's
not
specific,
necessarily
san
bruno,
but
there
have
been
communications
tailored
to
those
communities
and
their
radios
and
their
you
know
whatever
their
social
media
may
be
social
media
presence.
Maybe
so
those
are
just
some
updates.
I
wanted
to
share
so
once
again.
7
31
keynes
avenue
10
am
to
3
pm
for
the
first
dose
and
walk-ins
are
welcome.
A
Again
also
just
there
are
other
locations,
whether
it's
walgreens
cbs.
A
I
know
somebody
had
their
so
there
there
are
some
availabilities
in
san
bruno
and
I
think
the
only
word
of
advice
I
can
give
is
just
need
to
kind
of
not
give
up
and
be
diligent,
and
sometimes
it's
just
the
hour
it's
the
day.
But
you
know
once
you
have
the
appointment,
my
other
encouragement
would
be
as
I've
learned
from
a
friend.
She
was
telling
me
that
you
know
she
took
her
first
shot
and
then
work
complicated.
A
The
second
one
bowed
out
of
that,
but
has
not
been
able
to
get
back
in.
So
my
encouragement
would
say
once
you
get
your
appointments,
please
keep
your
appointments,
but
once
you
get
them
it,
I
think
it's
easy.
It's
just
it's
getting
them
and
the
county
is
starting
to
ramp
back
up
as
far
as
getting
the
vaccine.
So
I
see
that
we
have
somebody
in
the
community
with
your
hand
up
and
I'd
like
to
call
on
our
city
clerk
to
bring
bring
them
in.
Please.
B
D
A
B
Www.Sanbruno.Ca.Gov
forward
slash
coronavirus
and
that's
the
landing
page.
There
are
several
resources.
There's
a
vaccine
page.
That's
there.
All
of
these
presentations
that
I
provided
are
there.
There
are
several
press
releases
that
are
available,
and
so
I
I
invite
anyone
from
the
public
to
visit
our
site
and
take
a
look
at
the
information.
A
Thank
you
final
comment,
councilmember
mason
for
a
question.
G
Yeah,
it's
a
corruption,
so
this
is
the
first
pop-up
in
san
bruno
and
for
those
of
you
watching
who
don't
know
what
a
pop-up
is
they're
intended
to
be
just
a
weekend
a
weekend
event
where
they
pop
up.
You
know
the
vaccination
groups
and
then
they
come
back
the
three
weeks
later
for
a
second
dose.
So
it's
not
something
that's
going
to
be
continuous
and
the
target
is
really
communities
that
generally
are
not
signing
up
their
my
turn,
our
communities
who
may
not
otherwise
be
able
to
get
to
technology
etc
to
get
their
vaccines.
G
I
also
just
wanted
to
mention
that
there
was
a
couple
people
who
have
asked
me
questions
about
vaccinations
in
other
cities.
So
if
you
go
to
my
turn,
which
is
where
people
are
recommending
that
you
know
you
sign
up,
I
just
want
to
say
that
you
can
be
in
san
bernardin.
You
might
get
your
vaccination
appointment
in
san
francisco.
G
People
have
gotten
them
in
alameda
county
so
and
it's
okay.
If
that's,
where
they're
sending
you
it's
absolutely
okay,
there's
there's
like
a
guilt
that
I
felt
from
some
seniors
who
have
asked
me,
and
I
just
want
to
say
that
this
is
how
the
system
has
been
set
up
and
I
think
it
has
actually
been
quite
efficient.
So
make
sure
you
you
sign
up
and
wherever
you're
assigned
and
do
not
feel
guilty,
that's
where
you
got
and
that's
where
you've
been
assigned.
So
thank
you.
A
Okay
again,
thank
you,
jennifer
for
your
update,
we'll
move
on
to
item
b
under
announcements.
This
saturday
is
the
spring
community.
Cleanup
event
like
I
said
this
saturday
at
8
a.m
to
11
a.m.
The
event
is
located
at
975
smith,
lane
and
and
san
bernardino
residents
may
drop
off,
latex
paint,
bulky
items,
e-waste
appliances
and
bags
of
garbage
residents
are
prohibited
from
dropping
off
dirt,
rocks
or
concrete.
The
event
is
open
again
to
san
bernardino
residents.
Only
and
participants
will
be
asked
to
show
identification
showing
san
bernard
residency.
A
A
Moving
on
to
item
c
bar
miss
I'm
sorry.
Vice
mayor
medina.
F
Yes,
thank
you,
mr
mayor.
As
for
the
cut
off
time,
it's
exactly
at
11
or
or
how
does
that
work,
so
people
don't
show
up
there
and
then
wait
in
line,
and
then
they
they
leave
like
are
told
that
they
can
can
no
longer
drop
off.
Is
that
a
drop
dead
time
or
how
does
that
work
just
so?
We
could
avoid
some
problems.
Yes,
eight
to
eleven,
eight
to
eleven
correct
all
right.
Thank
you,
sir.
A
No
no
problem.
Thank
you
for
asking
moving
on
to
item
c
announcement.
Our
mosquito
district
representative
wanted
us
to
announce
that
the
mosquito
season
has
begun
and
residents
are
encouraged
to
continue
to
dump
all
standing
water
report
dead
birds
not
hit
by
vehicles.
A
A
650-344-8592,
that's
344-8592
and
contact
the
san
mateo
county,
mosquito
and
vector
control
district
with
any
questions
that
you
may
have.
Okay,
and
so
what
we
are
going
to
do
is
move
on.
Oh,
okay,
I'm
sorry
there
is
a.
I
thought
this
was
christina's
hand
up.
I
apologize,
I'm
being
told
we
do
have
a
person
in
the
audience
wanting
to
speak.
I
don't
know
if
it's
on
mosquito
abatement
or
saturday
city
clerk.
C
Hello,
thank
you
very
much.
Can
you
hear
me?
Yes,
yeah.
I'm
really
excited
about
this
weekend's
event
where
we
can
drop
off
household
items.
That's
amazing.
The
first
one
was
just
like
it
was
a.
It
was
a
gift
to
the
community.
So
thank
you
mayor
medina
for
that,
but,
on
the
other
hand,
is
there
any
way
that
we
can
get
this
kind
of
support
for
the
community
events
that
happen
monthly?
What
would
you
be
able
to?
C
What
would
the
council
also
be
able
to
to
let
people
in
the
community
know
that
we're
having
community
cleanups
the
next
one
that
we're
doing
is
on
the
22nd
of
next
month?
It's
a
saturday,
but
we'd
really
appreciate
that
kind
of
support.
I
mean
we're
making
a
huge
dent
on
the
garbage
that's
in
and
around
our
neighborhoods,
so
that
that's
my
my
question
is:
is
okay?
How
do
we
get
the
council
right,
including
these
council
meetings,
to
support
these
events.
A
Okay,
mr
seymour,
this
is
in
regards
to
saturday's
event,
so
we
should
stick
to
that
topic,
but
you've
been
hurt,
really
yeah
we're
we're
talking
about
the
event
on.
A
C
A
Okay,
we're
going
to
go
back
to
the
list
and
item
d,
I'm
going
to
issue
a
proclamation
recognizing
may
as
mental
health
awareness
month.
If
we
can
bring
in
christina.
A
Please
so
first
we
have
christine
is
with
us
who
is
a
who
works
at
the
aging
and
adult
services
for
the
san
mateo
county,
and
she
was
gracious
enough
to
be
here
this
evening.
We've
been
in
contact,
I
think
all
of
council
and
the
community
are
aware
that
obviously
this
has
been
a
very
challenging
time.
A
It's
tested
many
folks,
and
so
it's
something
that
is
the
month
of
may
is
just
that,
and
so
I'm
just
gonna
read
a
couple
lines
and
I'll
ask
here:
she
is
I'll:
ask
christina
to
help
educate
us
a
little
bit
as
well,
whereas
the
2021
may
mental
health
month
focuses
on
the
theme.
A
Hope
for
change.
The
past
year
has
brought
unanticipated
changes,
leaving
us
to
face
these
changes
and
transform
hope
for
change,
reminds
us
to
spread
hope
and
relay
on
the
hope
that
carried
us
through
a
year
of
change
and
whereas
san
mateo,
county,
behavioral
health
and
recovery
services,
staff,
community
partners,
clients
and
family
members
dedicate
themselves
to
promoting
wellness
resilience,
recovery,
inclusion
and
equity
around
mental
health
and
substance
use
conditions
and
issues
now,
therefore,
be
medina.
A
Mayor
of
the
city
of
san
bruno,
dubai
hereby
proclaim
proclaim
the
month
of
may
2021
as
mental
health
month
in
san
bruno
and
call
upon
our
community
and
partners
to
commit
to
reducing
stigma
and
promoting
wellness
around
mental
health
and
substance
use
issues.
And
I
would
please
thank
you
very
much
for
being
here
this
evening,
and
I
would
please
turn
it
over
to
you.
H
Thank
you,
I'm
mayor
medina,
so
I'm
christina
gatafa
and
I'm
with
aging
and
adult
services,
and
I'm
here
as
a
part
of
the
mental
health
month
planning
committee.
So
a
mental
health
and
substance
abuse
conditions
affected
one
in
four
adults
in
the
u.s
in
2019,
and
estimates
suggest
that
one
in
four
adults
with
a
mental
health
condition
are
not
receiving
the
help
that
they
need
communities
have
faced.
H
Stigma
and
lack
of
awareness
of
resources
are
some
of
the
key
barriers
preventing
people
from
getting
help
around
mental
health
and
substance
abuse
issues.
Mental
health
month
is
one
of
the
best
times
of
the
year
to
increase
awareness
and
to
inspire
action
to
reduce
stigma
against
those
facing
mental
health
and
substance
abuse
issues.
So
san
mateo
county
joins
our
state
and
county
in
celebrating
mental
health
month
in
may.
Key
ways
to
promote
mental
health
is
through
a
communication
campaign
and
events,
lime
green,
it's
hard
to
see,
but
I'm
wearing
my
lingering
shirt.
H
So
a
lime
green
is
the
color
that
is
used
nationally
for
mental
health
and
represents
how
we
want
to
bring
a
bright
light
to
an
important
issue
that
may
be
hidden
or
seen
negatively.
So
san
mateo
county's
theme
this
year
is
aligned
with
the
state
theme
of
hope
for
change.
The
past
year
has
brought
unanticipated
challenges
for
us
as
individuals
and
families
and
communities
leaving
us
to
face
these
challenges
and
transform
change
is
not
always
planned.
Growth
can
be
powerful
and
empowering.
It
can
also
be
uncomfortable.
H
Might
also
be
available,
so
all
events
are
free
are
open
to
the
public,
but
space
is
limited,
even
though
it's
virtual,
so
people
can
register
to
reserve
their
spots
on
the
county
health
website.
We
have
two
websites,
we
have
one
or
web
pages.
One
has
the
listing
for
mental
health
month
events,
and
we
also
have
another
website
that
lists
mental
health
resources.
H
So
I'm
here
as
a
call
to
action
to
ask
you
to
attend
or
share
one
or
more
of
the
mental
health
events.
There
is
a
flyer
that
I
can
send
and,
as
I
said,
wear
lime,
green
or
something
green,
and
you
can
also
talk
openly
about
mental
health
with
others.
So
thank
you
very
much
for
this
opportunity
to
be
here
today
and
except
the
proclamation.
A
And
and
even
then
it's
virtually
it's
here,
you
I'm
sorry,
you
can
see
it
and
we
will
get
it
to
you,
but
I
very
much
want
to
thank
you,
bringing
it
to
our
attention
and
being
here
this
evening
and
passing
on
that
information.
It's
really
important
in
these
times.
So
thank
you
very
much.
