B
Mayor
councilmembers,
Joseph
Cervantes
is
the
newest
addition
to
our
engineering
division,
and
this
will
be
his
first
presentation.
He
came
to
the
city
from
city
of
San
Jose
and
he
is
already
taken
on
huge
responsibilities.
He
is
responsible
for
managing
and
reviewing
all
of
the
development.
In
the
same
time,
he
is
key
player
on
many
of
our
major
CIP
projects.
A
C
Thank
you
good
evening,
mayor
and
council,
as
you're
likely
aware,
this
is
on
as
you're
likely
aware,
this
city
obtains
most
of
its
water
supply
from
water
wells
and
from
SFPUC
pipelines.
C
Now,
basically,
what
these
pressure
regulation
stations
do
is
reduce
the
pressures
from
the
SFPUC
connections,
and
the
benefit
for
doing
this
is
that
the
water
distribution
system
can
now
operate
at
its
design,
condition,
which
is
at
the
lower
pressures,
and
this
project
can
also
benefit
the
upcoming
well
15
project.
As
an
example,
we
can
save
approximately
ninety
thousand
dollars
in
costs
just
by
implementing
lower
pressures
in
that
area,
and
we
could
save
approximately
forty-three
thousand
dollars
in
just
electrical
pumping
alone.
So,
in
a
ten-year
span
that
can
be,
you
know
closer
to
a
million
dollars.
