Description
What's Happening Around Town for August 2012
trt 12:51
A
A
B
My
name
is
Don
journelle
I'm,
the
fire
chief
currently
for
three
departments:
the
city
of
san
bruno
fire
department,
city
of
millbrae,
fire
department
and
central
county
fire
department,
which
serves
Burlingame
animals,
bro
the
four
cities.
Three
departments
have
agreed
to
share
my
services
with
the
retirement
of
chief
Hague
from
millbrae,
who
was
shared
between
same
room
Melbourne.
We
really
want
to
talk
about
being
careful
around
open
flames,
and
then
it
encompasses
a
lot
more
lies,
tiki
torches,
it's
the
central
ella
candles,
its
decorative
candles.
It's
barbecues,
it's
campfires,
all
those
types
of
things.
B
Don't
mix
well
with
youth
clothing,
children,
light
flammable
material
could
be
around
it.
A
lot
of
people
have
no
decorative
curtains
or
even
outdoors
might
be
too
close
to
an
umbrella
too
close
to
the
BBQ
beat
could
be
too
close
to
the
house,
which
might
be
combustible
materials
such
as
wood,
siding
those
types
of
things.
We
always
want
to
caution
people
to
be
careful
and
be
very
digital
about
their
fire
safety.
Everybody
that
this
time
of
year
has
a
barbecue.
We
don't
always
go
camping
or
those
types
of
things
with
the
barbecue
is
the
one.
B
That's
used
more
common
than
any
of
the
others
that
there's
certainly
more
potential
for
accidents
to
occur.
We
want
to
keep
our
children
away
from
the
from
the
open
flames
caution,
people
with
the
liquid
starters
that
are
on
the
market,
use
them
according
to
the
manufacturer's
directions.
You
never
want
to
squirt
it
onto
already
smoldering
fire.
We
want
to
keep
the
barbecue
a
safe
distance
away
from
combustible
material,
whether
it's
the
house
or
decking
or
shrubbery.
Those
types
of
things
make
sure
your
barbecue
is
completely
out.
B
If
you
have
charcoals,
you
can
cover
them
with
the
most
charcoal.
Barbecue
devices
have
lids
that
we
can
cut
off
the
oxygen
itself.
Extinguish
gas
barbecues,
make
sure
it
is
shut
off.
Make
sure
your
gas
supply
is
shut
off,
make
sure
when
you
use
electric
starter,
that
you
put
in
a
safe
place
when
you're
done
with
that,
you
should
unplug
the
device
and
put
on
something
that's
non
combustible.
Well,
the
weather,
it's
a
big
factor
in
fire
fire
behavior.
B
We
want
to
be
more
cautious
when
it's
windy,
a
small
fire
that
gets
away
can
grow
rapidly.
So
we
want
to
watch
the
embers
and
sparks
even
from
a
BBQ,
make
sure
that
you're
observing
the
weather
conditions,
if
it's
a
campfire,
certainly
if
its
winds
are
picking
up,
you
need
to
make
sure
that
you
let
your
fire
died
down
around
a
campfire
this
time
of
year.
B
So
if
we
tell
them,
no,
you
can't
then
they're
going
to
be
curious
and
want
to
find
out
on
their
own
and
maybe
not
always
under
our
supervision,
teach
them
the
right.
The
right
things
to
do
the
proper
use
of
matches
and
that
they
aren't
a
toy
that
fire
is
only
for
adults,
but
they
should
at
least
be
be
educating
the
point
that
they're
not
curious
about
it.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
they
stay
away
from
the
open
flames.
