Description
City of San Bruno What's Happening Around Town
May 2018
A
Welcome
to
the
may
2018
edition
of
what's
happening
around
town
for
the
city
of
San,
Bruno,
I'm,
Stephanie
Chavez
summer
is
right
around
the
corner,
which
means
there
will
be
a
ton
of
activities
to
choose
from
this
program.
Will
give
you
some
ideas
of
what
you
can
do
within
the
city
limits
plus
what
else
is
going
on
in
town
that
may
affect
you?
The
annual
police
recognition
day
will
take
place
on
Saturday
May
19th
come
to
the
shops
and
Tampa
Rams
meet
local
and
regional
police.
Numerous
agencies
will
be
there
between
10
a.m.
A
A
If
you
are
interested
in
participating
in
the
development
of
the
new
recreation
and
Aquatic
Center
designs,
the
city
wants
to
hear
from
you.
The
next
community
meeting
is
scheduled
for
Thursday
May
17th
at
the
Veterans
Memorial
recreation
center.
Just
like
a
meeting
back
in
March,
there
will
be
an
open
house
from
3:00
until
5:00
p.m.
than
a
more
formal
meeting
take
place
from
6:30
until
8:30
p.m.
tell
us
what
you
want
in
a
recreation
and
Aquatic
Center
go
to
the
city's
website
at
www.nasa.gov/station.
A
We
have
an
update
for
you
regarding
the
sewer
construction
project
that
has
had
segments
of
San
Mateo
Avenue
closed
for
the
last
couple
of
months.
The
contractor
has
installed
approximately
1,900
feet
of
new
sewer
pipes.
Now
that
the
sewer
pipe
work
is
complete,
the
contractor
will
begin
construction
of
the
water
pipeline
from
El
Camino
Real
towards
Angus
Avenue
on
San
Mateo
Avenue,
similar
broke
closures
of
segments
of
San
Mateo
Avenue
will
take
place.
A
The
project
is
anticipated
to
be
completed
during
the
summer
weather
permitting,
although
this
work
may
be
difficult
to
navigate,
businesses
are
still
open
during
their
normal
hours.
The
city
thanks
you
for
your
patience.
Ideally
once
this
work
is
complete,
it
will
serve
the
city
for
generations
to
come.
A
If
you
travel
up
and
down
El
Camino
reals,
you
may
have
noticed
the
new
pedestrian
hybrid
beacon.
These
lights
have
been
installed
where
there
is
no
regular
traffic
signal,
but
pedestrians
tend
to
cross
at
these
intersections
when
activated
these
beacons,
use,
flashing
and
solid
light
to
signal
vehicles
and
stop
sometimes
their
flashing
yellow.
Sometimes
they
flash
red,
and
sometimes
they
are
solid,
color.
A
Here's
what
you
need
to
know
when
there
is
no
light
drivers
should
proceed
with
caution
when
a
pedestrian
is
pressed
the
button
and
is
waiting
to
cross,
the
yellow
lights
will
begin
to
flash
for
oncoming
traffic.
Next,
the
lights
will
become
a
solid
yellow.
This
is
the
signal
and
prepare
to
stop.
Next,
the
lights
will
become
a
solid
brick.
This
is
the
signal
for
traffic
to
stop
because
the
pedestrian
has
given
the
walk
side.
After
about
30
seconds,
the
lights
will
start
flashing
brakes.
A
A
Summer
camp
sign
up
there
now
taking
place.
