convention

outstanding

was

2000

centers
complexities
and
intricacies

convention
center
director

many
achievements
with
helping
the
city
grow
as
a
destination

watching
hotels
and
restaurants,

develop
accordingly

beautiful
individual

she

deal

things
of
that
nature.

missed

because
we
didn't

facilities

hold
it

hotels

really
hold
conventions
here,

proud
to
say
next
year

fraternity

first
fraternity.

conclave,

of
tampa,

now
we
have

amenities

they're
looking

covert
related

the
things
that
I
can
probably
be
proudest
of
is
that
when
we
came
to
that
moment
in
time
in
2020
that
we
actually
thought
about
how
we
could
recover
from
it,
it
was
more
about
how
we
repurpose
the
facility
and
recover
from
it
and
based
on
the
relationships
that
the
team
has
with
our
clients.

were
able
to
rescue
87
percent
of
our
clients
into
future
years,
so
the
the
future
is
looking
very,
very
bright
for
our
convention
center
and
then,
if
you
haven't
been
in
the
center
since
last
week,
we
have
completely
remodeled
the
entire
first
floor.

find
it
completely
done
with
all
new
carpets
finishes:
paint
textures,
there's
new
furniture
coming
well,
not
new
furniture,
but
reupholstered
furniture,
because
we
wanted
to
save
taxpayer
dollars
and
we
have
all
brand
new
signage
throughout
the
facility.

moved

I'm
fairly
a
new
resident
compared
to
other
applicants.

years
old,
grew
up
in
nepal
lived
in
different
countries.
Taiwan
different
states
in
the
u.s
from
florida,
starting
from
florida,
georgia,
washington
dc,
maryland
alaska
and
back
to
florida
again
in
2018,
and
I
been
working
with
united
airlines
for
past
two
and
a
half
years
and
been
in
the
airline
industry
for
more
than
12
years,
and
I
believe
that's
one
of
the
important
part
of
florida
as
well.

Aviation
is
a
big
community,
important
aspect
of
the
economic
growth
over
here
as
well.
However,
as
a
citizen,
I
thought
it
would
be
a
good
idea
to
take
participation
in
the
government
workings
and
have
a
good
understanding
as
well.

that
was
one
of
the
reasons
I
applied
and
one
of
the
key
things
I
like
to
do
is
understand
the
data
behind
all
the
planning,
because
everything
is
based
on
analytics
and
I
believe
that's
important.

when

look

citizens

view,
they
can
be
certain
things
that
may
work
and

not
work.
However,
that's
my
goal
to
bring
to
the
table

comes

city
planning
and
also

travel

countries

same
time
give
me

opportunity
to
see
what
works
and
what
doesn't
work

a
city.

it's
also
important
to
make
sure

keep

heritage
and
move

direction

is
in
line

is

2019

need

some

fill

empty

cases

real
estate

city
council
every
four
years?
First
of
all,
it's
required
by
law
and
it's
part
of
it's
been
qualified
as
section
2.01
of
the
city
charter.
So
that's
why
we
do
it

the
planning
commission,
which
we
have
been
appointed
a
new
commissioner.

Congratulations
had
recommends,
staff
recommends
and
the
planning
commission
approves
these
new
boundaries
and
what
we're
trying
to
do
is,
as
the
city
is
a
fast-growing
city,
that
the
population
of
the
four
single
member
districts
is
as
equal
as
possible.

So
this
is
a
lot
of
numbers
in
this
chart,
but
the
number
the
key
number
there
seems
red
is
5.6.
That's
what
the
population
deviation
is.
So
again,
we
have
four
alternatives
that
we
created
to
reduce
this
number
from
5.6

hopefully
less
than
five.

planning
commission
historically-

instance

exception-

engaged
in
a
comprehensive
outreach
effort
throughout
the
city.

a

a

and
a
pencil
could

our
calculations.

was
the
idea
we
had
letters,
we

emails,

had
telephone
calls,
neighborhood
associations
yourselves,

of
you
met
with
us.

process

getting

alternatives

the
naacp,

hispanic
services

league
of
women,
borders,

hosted

couldn't
manage

be
there

a

with
us

doing
this

I
was

You

some
of
the
shitty

outs,
city
charter,
language
and
some
of
the
languages.

They
were
able
to
walk
me
through
it
and

kept
me
on
the
clear
in
terms
of
legal
matters
and
again
to

always
like
to
be
on
the

the
right
side
of
the

the

the
legal
staff
that
helped
me.

hillsboro
county
public
schools
always
very
open
and

made
available
some
of
the
facilities
that
they
have,
so
it's
again
fabulous

lastly,
but
nevertheless
is
the
public
on
the

county,
labor,
the
county
library
services.

if
you
haven't
had
a
chance
to
be
in
a
library
facility,
one

the
multi-purpose
rooms,
it's
just
amazing,
state-of-the-art
all

tech
is
there

whatever
you
can
do
to
support
that
going
forward,

look

district
five

the
upper

section

the
raleigh
park-
silver
springs

voters

five

think
by
doing
that,
it
alleviates
that
problem
with
bush
boulevard.

I
think
it
was
a
great

upset

community
leaders
and

2021
the
community

list

items
of
concern
printed
on

was
developed

list

were
promised
follow-up
meetings
to
discuss
the
progress
or
lack
of
progress.
Things
went
as
promised
and
productive
follow-up
meetings
were
held
that
changed
last
fall.
For
some
reason,

decided
that
the
city
no
longer
had
to
talk
to
the
community
about
the
community's
concerns.
They
only
had
to
talk

city
council.
They
produced
a
written
update
for
city
council
that
was
not
discussed
with

community
and

not
even
sent
to
the
community.

having
a
minimum
wage
of
15
per
hour
for
future
contracts
for

city

tampa

legally

state

federal
regulations
statutes
may
limit
such
a
requirement
for
contracts
that
are
funded
or
receive
assistance
from
the
state
or
federal
government.

the
fair
labor
standards
act
has
established
a
current
pay
rate
of
7.25
cents
per
hour,
so
it
includes
exemptions
from
federal
minimum
wage
provisions,
but
in
general
an
employer
must
pay
its
covered
non-exempt
employees,

wage.
The
state,
however,
may
set
the
rate
higher
than
the
federal
minimum
wage,
but
not
lower.
So
in
cases
where
an
employee
is
subject
to
both
the
state
and
the
federal
minimum

the
employee

entitled

two
minimum
wages.
