835Th round and today, of course, we have our lifestyle and Community committee meeting councils I have received some late. Apologies from councilor Belden Lumsden I've just asked that they be noted in the minutes.

Counselors, we have a number of start items today. I think they all can be started with the exception of item 7.1. Is there any disagreement on that? No. Would someone like to move the start items councilor Tozer seconded by councilor O'neill, any discussion against? No any further questions, no I'll put that to a vote all those in favor all those against that is carried.

um Jim and I'm really sorry to interrupt, but I do have a conflict declaration to make on item 7.1. Okay,.

Like me to do yes, please, okay, um I noted one of the passes of land referred to uh in the report is owned by a donor to my 2015 campaign, where I received 390 and in 2016 the amount of two thousand five hundred dollars was refunded in full.

So councilors will recall the latest legal advice that says no prescribed conflict exists where funds were totally returned in full, so I'm requesting permission to participate in the debate due to the minor nature of the contribution eight years ago, and my belief that a reasonable person would trust in my ability to make a decision in the public interest. Having represented the specific area under consideration for 12 years.

Having to move um that Council Gates be remain and participate in the decision, despite the conferences conflict of interest, um because the donation as disclosed was, is minor, I wrote and occurred eight years ago.

So let's call that again, all those in favor, so that is counselor Curtis, counselor, Tozer, Council, La, castra, councilor o'nealsa, those against none and Council Gates did not vote so unanimous.

Welcome back viewers, we have just concluded a short presentation and line of questioning on our land acquisition, sport, Recreation and Community facilities report.

That matter was dealt with enclosed because it dealt specifically with some properties and as to not Prejudice council's interests that had to be a confidential discussion. uh Notwithstanding that we do have an outcome, we have a council now prepared to move that officer recommendation which is councilor toza that will be seconded by councilor Gates um Council taxi did you?

Oh sorry, I thought you put up your hand there earlier and closed. My apologies, councilor O'neill um Council tells you did you wish to share.

Some words, uh looking collection, a point was well made about sometimes the criticism of council not prepared for the future and acquiring um appropriate land for recreational purposes, and it's great to see this report come in and identify a number of sites, not just for immediate discussion, but for a number of sites and locations in the future where we're planning for the future recreational activities of our people of our of our community.

um It's excellent that they're all over the city. You know, whilst I can't identify them, um it's great that we're serving people who live sometimes on the beach and sometimes up north and sometimes in the South, and it's it's actually really exciting.

To see this plan come out and and there's a subsequent report coming up uh in 2024, that'll that'll flesh out some more of that information and I think that's also going to be good and give some confidence to the community that we are making plans for the future and making sure people have got great places to play. Thank.

um Chair and can I just add that I think the officers have done a great job investigating sites that that we can identify for future recreational use and sports use and and um and I'm very grateful for that and I'm happy to Second. This motion. Okay,.
