A
Hello
and
welcome
my
name's,
Layla
and
I
have
the
pleasure
of
welcoming
punima
Naya
to
the
interview
to
my
side
here
and
Panama
is
running
for
a
place
on
the
board
of
directors
for
the.net
foundation.
Why
don't
you
tell
everybody
about
yourself.
B
Sure,
thanks
Layla
I'm,
purnima
Nair
and
I'm,
a
freelance.net
developer,
working
out
of
Berkshire
in
UK
I'm,
currently
fulfilling
the
role
of
CTO
of
my
Desi
in
Sweden,
but
that
doesn't
mean
just
focusing
on
the
strategy
and
architecture.
I
do
some
Hands-On
development
as
well.
B
You
would
have
seen
me
going
around
Europe
and
probably
us
as
well
doing
a
lot
of
talks,
because
I
love
public
speaking
and
teaching
Tech
as
well.
I
have
been
a
umbraco
MVP
for
the
past
four
years.
For
all
my
community
contributions
to
umbraco
CMS
in
the
community,
there
and
I
have
been
a
Microsoft
MVP
for
the
past
two
years
in
developer
technology.
B
Again
for
my
community
contributions
there
and
non-work
me
I'm,
a
mother
I
have
a
beautiful
eight-year-old
daughter
who
I
spend
a
lot
of
time
with,
and
I
love
watching
movies
and
I
was
a
student
of
carnatic
Music
vocals.
In
fact,
I
have
my
grade
three
exams
the
day
after
tomorrow.
B
A
B
Okay
so
for
me
personally,
I
have
been
very,
very
lucky
to
be
around
some
of
the
Fantastic
people
in
the
community
to
help
me
grow
and
be
reassured
that
you
know
the
career
path.
I
chose
for
myself
is
fantastic,
but
I
do
feel
that
there
is
still
a
reassurance
needed
when
people
are
thinking
about
a
career
in
Tech
or
in
programming
worldwide.
This
is
not
just
UK
alone.
This
is
a
worldwide
problem
plus
when
you
are
a
mother,
there
is
all
sort
of
uncertainties
around
it.
B
B
There
I
was
one
of
the
very
lucky
ones
who
who
actually
had
the
fortune
of
deciding
early
on
in
my
age,
that
I
want
to
be
a
programmer
and
I
continue
to
do
that
till
day
to
day
so
I
want
to
reassure
people
out
there
through
my
talks,
articles
through
the
foundation
and
the
activities
I
do
around
the
foundation
that
you
know,
Tech
is
more
than
a
feasible
option
when
it
comes
to
very
good
or
a
good
carrier
to
build
upon
it
can
be
fun.
B
You
can
have
lots
of
learning,
and
you
know
you
can
do
what
you
love
to
do
so
that
that
kind
of
education
early
on
is
something
that
I
want
to
provide
through.net
Foundation
again
there
is
that
alarming
or
there
is
that
danger
sign
with
people
that
that
the
pace
at
which
Tech
moves
again
is
something
that
scares
you
from
having
a
career
in
tech.
For
me
that
doesn't
allow
me
personally,
because
I
have
found
my
Niche
I
have
found
the
trick
to
kind
of
get
around
it.
B
It's
important
to
have
a
steady,
but
a
slow,
slow
and
steady
learning
path
is
what
I
follow
and
I
want
to
spread.
That
word
around
again
through
my
activities
through
the
foundation.
So
you
have
a
steady
and
a
steady,
growing
path,
steady
learning
path
which
actually
helps
you
to
go
ahead
without
actually
getting
worried
about
the
noise
around
you
and
the
fast
paced
developments
in
technology.
B
In
fact,
I
always
say
that
what
we
have
right
now,
the
tech
stack
that
we
have
out
there,
especially
with
DOT
net
running
on
every
other
platform
that
you
can
think
of
from
my
smart
watch
to
my
desktop
to
websites
and
servers
out
there.
It
is
the
best
time
to
have
a
career
in
Tech
and
be
a
developer.
A
Great,
a
lot
of
those
things
are
close
to
my
heart
as
well,
so
that
that's
fantastic,
thank
you
for
sharing
that
punima.
Now
what
skills
do
you
think
you
bring
that
can
help
you
achieve
those
goals
and
and
support
the
other
directors.
B
Sure
I've
been
a
very
visible
Community
member
in
both
umbraco,
as
well
as
the
microsoft.net
communities
of
late
I.
Do
a
lot
of
public
speaking,
focusing
on
technology,
focusing
on
various
aspects
of
dot
net,
so
I
spread
the
word
around.net
around
the
world,
I've
spoken
in
meetups
and
conferences
all
the
way
from
us
to
Australia
virtually
in
Australia,
though,
but
a
lot
of
fun
things
I've
spoken
about
making
people
feel
that
technology
can
be
fun.
B
I
write,
occasionally
I
do
have
a
Blog
through
which
I
write
occasionally
and
a
lot
of
my
articles
have
enjoyed
great
readership
I'm,
also
a
very
vocal
or
very
active
Community
member
in
the
umbraco
community.
For
those
who
don't
know
on
braco
and
braco
is
a.net
based
open
source,
CMS
I
started
off
in
umbraco
doing
my
first
pull
request
to
the
code
and
then,
when
I'm
performed
its
first
Community
core
collaborators
team
who
were
in
charge
of
responding
to
the
pull
requests
from
the
community.
B
I
was
one
of
the
initial
team
members
and
I
continue
to
be
a
part
of
the
team.
Till
the
team
underwent
a
reshuffle
and
through
that
process,
I
did
a
lot
of
code
contributions.
Myself
became
a
very
vocal
activist
for
hacktoberfested
in
a
random
record,
but
in
the
same
process,
I
figured
out
that
just
not
quote,
contributions
is
the
only
way
to
contribute
to
an
open
source
project.
There
are
so
many
ways
if
you
want
to
contribute
to
an
open
source
project.
B
Do
you
know
that
if
you
spot
a
bug
and
raise
that
and
as
an
issue
in
the
GitHub
repository,
that
is
also
open
source
contribution?
Not
many
people
know
of
it.
So
my
contributions
to
open
source
have
changed
over
time
from
code
to
documentation,
to
raising
issues
to
helping
other
community
members
mentoring
talking
spreading
the
word.
All
of
that
and
right
now,
I'm
also
one
of
the
members
of
the
umbraco
hardcore
advisory
committee.
So
we
will
act
as
the
advisory
committee
and
the
sounding
board
for
how
that
product
actually
goes
and
takes
much
more
shape.
A
Of
the
umbraco
experience
and-
and
you
know,
being
able
to
guide
people
through
just
a
simple
Community
contribution
contributions
such
as
raising
an
issue
and,
and
that
can
be
non-daulty
daunting.
I
can't
speak
today,
non-daunting
for
people
yeah
well,
those
are
my
questions.
Are
there
any
other
things
that
you
would
like
to
raise
about
yourself
or
the
impact
that
you
would
like
to
have
or
or
anything
in
general.
B
Right
now,
the
only
thing
I
can
say
is
that
I
I'm
really
looking
forward
to
be
involved
in
the.net
Foundation
this
way
or
any
another
way
that
I
possibly
can
think
of
because
whatever
I
spoke
about
is
things
like
which
are
close
to
my
heart
and
I
live
and
breathe
that
every
day
plus.
This
is
a
great
opportunity
for
me
to
be
involved
in
a
voluntary
activity
which
is
close
to
what
I
do
and
what
I
really
believe
in
as
well.
So
looking
forward
to
it
well.
