In this video I Interview Dr Eric Bubar where he Explains How the 3D Printing Community Can Contribute to eNable ERRF2018 during the East Coast Rep Rap Festival ERRF2018. eNable is a Global Network Of Passionate Volunteers Using 3D Printing To Give The World A "Helping Hand.". It is an organization that empowers the community to 3D Print and assemble prosthetic devices to individuals in need of all ages. Dr. Bubar shows and explains why the prosthetic devices were designed and how they eNable those to accomplish more with them. Prosthetic devices can cost tens of thousands of dollars. These devices can be printed for the cost that is less than the roll of filament and assembled with hardware for well under $100. Several models are available for the community to download and print on their 3D Printer.

So what enable is is we're a group of just volunteers, all over the world.

We basically communicate all through the internet, so we talk through google+.

Through facebook through email and we try to use 3d, printing 3d design, 3d.

Scanning to create technologies that people in developing countries or.

Wherever anybody- that's that needs some kind of assistive technology, we can.

Create or invent something to help them accomplish a task that they need. One of.

The most popular things we get are known for our superhero hands, so we have.

Prosthetics that we can make let's say, you're missing your fingers as long as.

B

You can bend your wrist a little bit. We can make you one of these and when you.

B

Bend your wrist that actuates the fingers and gives you a small little.

Grip, so you can actually pick things up and then you release and it releases the.

B

Fingers so we can feed these to whatever kind of cartoon a kid might like. So this.

Year very timely, the new, credible movie just came out, so we made it a credible.

Hand- and we could feed them after whatever a child might want, but we don't.

Just do these superhero hands, that's what we hear about most often. We also do.

More advanced kinds of technologies and other kinds of things we try to do.

Into the kind of more colorful design, so we try to make more realistic ones so.

Limbs so we can do kind of prosthetic feet as well.

This isn't something that's being widely done by enable yet, but we're working on.

Fingers he really wanted a poseable thumb, so he can take these scans and we.

Can customize a device around them? The nice thing here is: we can customize to.

Any individuals anatomy, so this is a one-of-a-kind device that only exists.

For this person and we can customize to whatever kind of unique anatomy you.

Might have and then this individual can just slide their hand right in there and.

Then they've got two fingers. They've got a thumb. This is our first draft. Second.

And third drafts are actually being used by the recipient, so we can't really show.
