All right welcome everybody, it is, may the 4th and today's our 13th time meeting uh so welcome. We'll have a quick look at last week. What we checked in just to refresh our memories.

uh We had a pretty good discussion about platform support on the last call, making lots of progress on the uh docker images and documentation, um and we talked about how they that would be probably an actually better experience for developers than than trying to run it natively on a mac for those who might lose max support.

um We checked in on our progress to prioritize, what's making it into 3.1, we discussed the survey for both node operators and for developers, and we got a bit of a check in on our progress on jungle 4.. So I think we got some updates on each of these items we can talk about today. Are there any other items?

We'd also like to add to the agenda for today.

All right, in that case we can get to it. Let's start at the top here, um so we've I've been working with eosupport randall we've created a survey, um randall's actually got it already, I'm not sure if it's been sent yet, but I think it's if it's not been sent, it might be ready to send um and we should hopefully be seeing some results from that survey. Maybe by the next time we meet, or perhaps even sooner um so randall will be sending that to all of the.

I guess some three 300 some odd contacts, I'm not sure if randall you'll be narrowing, that down to more the smart contract area. I'm not sure if you have that ability, but in any case the questions will clarify whether or not they they develop on the smart contracts um and then we're also going to be sending it to as part of a broader survey to the pomelo grant participants as kind of a check-in on how pomelo season two went.

So that will come a little bit later, we're going to time it kind of to make more sense with a little season two wrap up, but we should be getting results from from randall the eosupport survey. Much sooner.

Anything to report on the docker documentation or any comments on the survey from anyone else.

So bucky is not on the call this morning uh he was up all night uh working and he's um a little under the weather with a something he's dealing with, but he has made more progress and he's made more progress with the both the mac arm and the mac um x86 stuff. So he thinks he's pretty close. um I'd say it's like maybe another week away and it's it's mostly wrapped up.

He's got an x86 machine to test on now. I think that was one.

Of the we've gotten a machine for him to be able to do that for now.

Great awesome, uh okay, anything else on platform support. We we got some feedback on the survey questions. I appreciate that we incorporated that into the survey and uh yeah randall whenever you can provide an update on oh yeah, and there was a question here for bucky and maybe we can, uh when he's feeling better, we can direct him to this one.

um Maybe someone else can answer um we'll.

We have seen with eosio that different compiler versions will make a smaller last summer, even sometimes required to run four contracts, whether it be doctor images available for every future plus past release of cdt, not sure if that means anything to anyone here.

Maybe a better question for bucky.

Yeah I'll ask him offline. I don't know that he plans to make docker images for all the past releases. I I I'll have to ask him I will I will take that is. This is under um the platform support issue number 55.

For the actual survey, questions and- um and we got some feedback in there uh from douglas butner and uh that's where this question came from so.

um Mandela code strategy- I understand you guys met again this week. I wasn't able to attend. um I think, yesterday, to you guys made some progress on prioritizing any updates to share.

Yes, um so all of the issues under the mandel repo um that are labeled 3.1 candidates have now been assigned. Many of them are assigned to the oci team, of which kevin hefner is kind of leading that charge. Although there's about four or more developers on the oci team, taking those a few others uh matthew, darwin was knocking them out, just testing them uh and then a few are owned by matt witherspoon.

So we we believe, we've got, and we have a few that we know may kind of hang over the belt a little bit um and those may not make it in.

We discuss those at length and I have one out to todd fleming uh he's going to see what dan thinks about whether they should fix that or not, and if that's the trace api return values and if dan says no oci will take that one as well and they believe they have the bandwidth to get all these knocked out next week, we'll probably look at all the open pr's.

We didn't do that this week we just looked at the open issues, so you can see kind of like either uh whether they're tagged oci and if you go into the actual issues list um you can also see uh you know whether they are um if they've been assigned a direct developers or assigned to some of them are assigned to matthew darwin um or to the they're labeled oci. So we, I think, we've nailed all that.

I think the next step next week will be to go through any of the open pull requests that are kind of sitting in there.

Not for me, I think you know again we're still hoping to go into jungle four with 3.1 on june 1st. That is our target around that date.

Okay, uh matthew has already is running uh 3.1 on jungle. Four, um I don't think you you alluded to whatever the latest. Whatever the it's, I guess. It's not a release candidate. It's it's.

3.05 with a bunch of the 3.1 uh issues or prs in it, so what he's doing builds as stuff comes in so it's 3.03.0.5 plus.

Okay, cool yeah, so yeah he mentioned he's starting. It has the transaction life cycle stuff.

There are a few issues that he's working through with oci, so it's it's not completely bug-free, but it looks like we're making some good progress. Yes, um great.

What is next go back here, um yeah I mentioned we talked about last week the question so that we've got the survey for plant for support. That's one survey, that's I think, then we're going to prioritize did that go out first, if it hasn't already gone out, the next one will be the one for node operators, letting them know that the consensus upgrade is coming and getting a sense of what they're running and whether they'll be impacted, whether they need to upgrade along with us to avoid getting forked out.

um I I believe the questions are ready. uh It's just a matter of timing. When we want to send it, I think we'll we'll follow the same. It'll be eosupport their big list of contacts, but I think it'd be good to hold that a little bit longer give give the opportunities to get answers on the platform support survey and, in the meantime, we'll work on putting together some more like a nice article explaining what's happening that will go along with this survey.

um Talked already a little bit about testing on jungle, for I gave you matthew's update any anything on your side, michael or anyone else to share in terms of testing on jungle.

On jungle directly now we started, I think, deploying some mandel packages to other networks and starting to discuss it, the 305 releases or a version of it that stan merged together, but um hope those coma fixes are coming soon. That's been some fun.

Okay, cool, so there's is that part of, what's in here, coma fixes that, as far as as far as we know that we're waiting.

For we've gone around around on that, I'm hoping it's in that issue list of of maybe the 3-1, whatever kevin, probably is the best person that knows there's a stack of them that kind of play together to make life like eos, usa. Anyway, we started seeing it some on on the wax main net, where network issues just kind of cause, unlinkable blocks and comas. So I'm not the only one. I just do it the best.

An update, maybe next time, next time, more beating of a dead horse. I mean he knows exactly what it is. It's just. It's definitely a real real world issue cool. We are testing mandel more on some other chains and discussing it on on even some other test nets, and things like that. So uh expanding.

Okay, um so yeah like us for next week, um hopefully we'll have some results to report, perhaps even sooner on on the platform support um and in between now and then I'm gonna start getting to work on compiling some of the the resources stan's been working, put together, write an article and something will go nice with the with the next version of the survey.
