Description
Gitaly 15.11 planning issue - https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitaly-planning/release-planning/-/issues/9
A
This
month
we
have
a
standard
capacity
and,
as
always,
I
will
go
ahead
and
Link
this
issue
in
the
below
this
video,
so
that
you
can
get
to
any
of
the
other
issues
linked
here
and
leave
comments
for
feedback,
which
we
really
do
appreciate,
I'm
in
the
process
of
updating
objectives
and
themes
in
the
Orthodox
and
why
section
of
the
direction
page?
A
So
please
stay
tuned
for
updates
according
to
that,
but
what's
out,
there
is
actually
relatively
accurate
to
our
current
objectives
as
far
as
planning
inputs,
we
do
not
have
a
ux
component
and
therefore
we
don't
have
ux
stable
counterpart
to
add
planning
inputs,
but
we
do
have
a
wonderful
quality,
stable
counterpart
who
has
done
a
lot
of
work
in
issuing
these
recommendations
for
work.
So
these
have
been
added
to
the
1511
release,
where
applicable.
A
I
do
want
to
call
out
a
specific
one
that
we
are
going
to
focus
more
on
in
1511
as
it
slipped
a
couple
of
Milestones.
So
we're
pretty
excited
to
try
to
work
that
as
far
as
actual
Feature
work
we're
doing,
there's
some
really
exciting
things
coming
which
we're
really
happy
about.
We
do
spend
about
33
percent
of
our
effort
on
Feature
work,
which
is
our
goal
each
month,
so
in
that
33
this
month,
we're
looking
to
do
some
pretty
nice
things
around
Disaster
Recovery
working
group.
A
A
This
will
eliminate
all
ruby
code
from
the
giddly
project
and
allow
us
to
be
completely
Standalone,
which
will
enable
us
to
iterate
even
faster,
as
we
won't
have
to
worry
about.
What's
going
on
on
the
Ruby
side
of
things,
the
other
feature
we're
really
excited
about
is
adding
a
global
file
size
limit
for
pushes,
as
repository
sizes,
continue
to
grow,
it's
oftentimes
necessary
to
restrict
the
size
of
the
blobs
within
the
repository
just
as
a
practical
matter.
A
Now
we
had
a
lot
of
customers,
ask
if
there's
ways
where
they
can
issue
a
warning
or
an
error
if
their
users
attempt
to
check
in
very
large
files
over
certain
capacity
or
certain
size,
and
therefore
we're
actually
very
excited
to
try
to
add
this
feature
into
giddly
now.
This
feature
does
not
change
any
limits
currently
on
getlab.com
or
on
anybody
else's
self-managed
instances.
It
won't
set
default
limits.
A
Yet
what
we're
hoping
to
do
over
the
course
of
the
next
few
releases,
though,
is
provide
an
interface
where
administrators
could
set
Global
limits
for
their
users.
This
does
not
mean
you
can't
check
in
files
over
a
certain
size.
It
simply
means
you'd
have
to
handle
them
via
lfs,
which
is
a
much
more
efficient
mechanism
for
files
of
size
that
don't
change
frequently
or
even
if
they
do
change
relatively
frequently.
Lfs
is
just
a
better
storage
mechanism
for
these
larger
files.
A
Hopefully,
this
is
is
exciting
for
you
all
as
it
is
for
us.
If
there's
anything,
we
can
do
to
further
these
topics.
Please
feel
free
to
leave
comments
on
these
issues.
You
check
them.
I
also
check
YouTube
for
comments
below
this
video.
Thank
you
so
much
for
your
time
and
hope
you
have
a
wonderful
release
as
we
do.
Thank
you
very
much.
