From YouTube: 3 reasons to join GitLab's CEO Shadow program
Description
GitLab CEO Shadow John Coghlan (@john_cogs) gives three reasons why you should participate in the shadow program.
A
Hi,
my
name
is
John
Coghlan
I'm,
the
current
CEO
Shadow
forget
lab.
My
normal
job
is
evangelist
program
manager
on
our
community
relations
team
and
I
wanted
to
take
a
moment
to
answer
our
question.
I
keep
hearing
from
fellow
Kate
lab
team
members.
Why
do
you
participate
in
the
shadow
program?
For
me,
there
was
two
reasons
that
I
really
wanted
to
participate
in
the
program
and
then
a
third
that's
presented
itself
over
this
first
week.
A
So
the
two
reasons
that
I
was
really
interested
in
participating
was
because
I
knew
it
would
be
interesting
and
I
figured
I
would
learn
a
lot
and
both
of
those
things
have
turned
out
to
be
true.
On
the
interesting
side,
you
know
the
conversations
that
we've
done,
part
of
you
know
are
things
I
would
normally
never
have
access
to,
in
my
day
to
day
kind
of
role,
and
so
I've
been
able
to
kind
of
get
new
insights
into
how
the
company
is
managed.
What's
the
health
of
the
company
was
the
you
know,
kind
of
investor?
A
You
know
community
think
about
the
business,
and
so
that's
been
really
interesting
and
thank
you
to
you
know:
CEO
Sid
and
everyone
who's
been
letting
us
participate
in
one-on-ones
for
giving
us
that
access.
You
know
on
the
learning
side,
I've
learned
a
lot
about
the
company
I
get
to
kind
of
hear
our
executives
are
thinking
about.
You
know
different
parts
of
the
organization
and
and
kind
of
how
things
are
performing
and
how
our
results
are.
A
You
know
spot-on,
also,
I,
think
the
one
thing
I
wasn't
expecting,
but
it
has
become
true,
and
it
was
a
great
point
that
our
chief
revenue
officer,
Mike
McBride,
made
to
our
departing
CEO
shadow-type
Davis,
who
just
finished
his
tenure
as
Shadow,
is
that
you
know
the
relationships
are
part
of
the
value
of
this
program
and
that
wasn't
something
that
had
really.
You
know
I've
been
thinking
about
too
much,
but
going
through
that
first
week,
I
already
feel
like
I.
A
Have
you
know
much
stronger
relationships,
obviously
much
better
visibility
with
our
executive
team
and
leaders
across
the
company
and
even
people
externally,
and
so
those
relationships
are
another
great
reason
that
people
should
get
excited
and
want
to
participate
in
this
program.
So
those
are
the
three
reasons
why
I
think
everyone
should
participate
in
the
CEO
Shadow
program
at
gitlab
and
if
you're
looking
for
more
information,
make
sure
you
check
out
the
shadow
page
on
our
handbook
or
you
can
tweet
at
me
at
John,
underscore
cogs
and
I'd
be
happy
to
answer
your
questions.
Thanks.
