Description
An open discussion with our L&D Manager on how L&D collaborates with DIB
A
A
Josh
will
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
himself
his
experience
in
lnd
as
it
relates
to
diversity,
inclusion
and
belonging
prior
to
gitlab,
and
we'll
have
a
discussion
on
how
we
work
together
to
achieve
goals
for
the
company.
Thank
you
for
spending
time
with
us
today.
Josh.
Do
you
mind
introducing
yourself
and
telling
us
a
little
bit
about
yourself
as
well.
B
A
B
Definitely
you
know
our
ceo
sid
c
brandy
is
really
passionate
about
learning
development
as
well
as
diversity,
inclusion
and
belonging,
and
I
have
a
lot
of
sponsorship
from
sid
to
enable
our
workforce
with
dib
and
l
d
in
general,
and
one
thing
that
you
know
I
do
with
the
ceo
is
we
meet
every
week
and
we
go
really
deep
into
a
specific
topic.
That's
really
important
to
the
organization,
for
example,
you
know
two
weeks
ago
we
talked
about
a
bias
for
async
communication.
B
That's
a
really
critical
sub
value
for
us
because
we're
a
global
organization
we
operate
at
65,
plus
countries
and
there's
a
lot
of
language.
You
know
differences
and
different
languages
spoken.
So
in
order
for
us
to
be
successful,
we
have
to
operate
asynchronously
there's
another
topic:
we're
going
to
talk
about
in
the
future
is
around
psychological
safety
and
build
and
trust.
So
our
ceo
is
really
passionate
about
this
topic
and
it's
really
awesome
working
for
a
company
where
leadership
is
so
passionate
about
lnd
and
dib.
A
Thank
you.
So
what
would
you
say
how
important
is
it
for
a
company
to
have
the
proper
tools,
as
we
think
about
the
buy-in
from
leadership
in
our
ceo?
How
important
is
it
the
tools
to
scale
the
work
that
is
needed?
Can
you
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
your
newest
tool?
What
you
consider
the
selection
of
that
as
it
relates
to
global
communications
and
and
having
a
little
bit
more
clarity
on
that.
B
We
have
to
provide
the
technologies
and
the
resources
for
team
members
to
develop
new
skills
at
any
time
of
the
day
at
any
time
they
want,
because
we
never
stop
our
g,
our
doors,
never
technically
close,
because
we
operate
24
7
technically,
so
it's
really
about
building
a
learning
infrastructure
and
so
we're
we
invested
in
a
learning
experience
platform
as
well
as
a
few
content.
Libraries
and
the
selection
that
went
into
that
was
really
around.
Is
it
accessible?
B
You
know
for
anybody
across
the
world?
Are
there
language
translation?
Is
it
compatible?
For
you
know,
different
people
in
different
parts
of
the
world
is
the
access
there.
So
I
think
building
the
learning
infrastructure
to
enable
personalized
and
self-service
learning
is
really
at
the
forefront
of
our
mind
as
an
organization.
A
Thank
you
so
much
that
really
answers
that
question.
As
we
move
together,
we
you
and
I
have
grown
the
foundation
for
diversity,
inclusion
and
belonging
as
it
relates
to
l
d
from
live
learnings
to
to
team
organ
specific
things
that
they
need
handbook
updates
that
are
ready
available
resources.
When
you
think
about
all
that
that
has
been
accomplished.
What
would
you
say?
The
next
step
is
for
l
d
for
companies
that
may
be
in
different
growth
phases.
What
would
you
suggest
and
what
would
that
look
like.
B
Yeah,
so
I
think,
in
order
for
dib
to
scale
organizationally
with
the
help
of
l
d
is
there's
a
couple
of
points.
I
think
leadership.
Buy-In
is
probably
the
most
important,
because
you
know
your
leaders
trickle
down
what's
important
from
the
top
all
the
way
down
to
the
different
chains
of
command
throughout
your
organization,
so
having
leadership
buying
is
really
critical.
I
also
think
if
you're
enabling
dib-
it's
all
about
you
know
finding
advocates
throughout
the
organization,
people
that
are
really
strong
believers
and
your
mission
and
using
those
people
to
be.
B
You
know,
change
champions
and
supporters
of
various
div
initiatives
and
the
same
is
within
learning,
learning
and
development
as
well.
We
have
learning
evangelists
that
are
really
passionate
about
l
d
and
they
can
help
push
out
that
culture
change
throughout
the
organization,
and
I
think
too,
it's
all
about.
You
know
finding
the
previous
question:
finding
the
right
infrastructure
to
scale
dib
and
l
and
d
together,
because
in
in
my
mind
you
know,
l
and
d
is
really
the
enablers
of
a
lot
of
dib.
You
know
priorities.
B
A
B
That's
a
great
question
so
I'll
have
to
say
I
I
kind
of
looking
back
a
little
bit.
You
know,
I
think,
being
a
veteran
and
then
you
know
having
a
previous
career,
where
I
was
constantly
all
on
the
road
all
the
time
and
working
with
global
organizations
in
the
military.
I
was
serving
people
with
people
all
throughout
the
world,
so
I
think,
like
I've
always
had
a
career
where
there's
a
global
mindset.
B
I
think
gitlab
gave
me
the
best
of
both
worlds,
because
one
it
allowed
me
to
maintain
that
global
sort
of
presence
and
those
global
voices
and
working
with
people
all
throughout
the
world
from
different
backgrounds
and
ethnicities
and
nationalities
and
personalities,
but
also
on
the
one
hand,
it's
also
gaining
that
work-life
balance
back
because
we're
all
remote
so
having
that
ability
has
been
really
amazing.
And
lastly,
I
will
say
you
know:
building
an
l
d
function
from
the
ground
up
with
you
in
dib
has
been
really
exciting.
